Knowing the future isn't a blessing. It's a curse. Especially when you've seen your death.
I'm going to die in the arms of someone I have never seen before. He's a person I will love, but I don't know anything about him.
When TerraMates matched me with Airik, I couldn't believe it. This sexy alien could see the future, just like me. I wasn't alone anymore. I quickly found out he knows nothing about Earth or humans. I married him, but will I be safe with him?
I didn't foresee I would want to feel his hands on my body.
I've never been able to change the future before. For us to survive, I need to.
What does the title have to do with the story? The only part that fits is mail order bride.
I was entertained by the story but didn't love it enough to want to read it again. There is a flatness to the writing that made many moments unemotional despite the plot being emotionally driven and there are a few typos. The science fiction was mostly about psychics, the setting could have been in Canada complete with snow pants and mattrack vehicles...and boxers. The sporadic 'powers' caused eye rolling and made serious situations disappear.
I really enjoyed ALPHA'S ENSLAVED BRIDE, the fourth book in Lisa Lace's TerraMates series. Another incredible addition to this series of stand-alone books that features couples who are matched for marriage throught the TerraMates program. Kind of a futuristic mail-order bride program. I love that each book offers romance with the bonus of enough danger to show these couples that they really do care for one another beyond the sexual chemistry that is always strong. A captivating love story with strong well-developed lead characters from a very imaginative author!
This features Quinn as the TerraMate for Airik, who lives on a planet where many of the residents have the gift of pyschic/pre-cognition abilities. I found it fascinating and was impressed with Ms. Lace's description of these abilities and function to better their planet's society. Quinn, however is from earth, and on earth she has been considered a witch and hunted for the abilities she has. Her life has been in danger and has had to hide out in her father's small apartment for years, fearing for her life if she ventured out. She applies to the TerraMates program hoping to be free to live a normal life on another planet. She is delighted when she meets Airik, her future husband and sees that he is a young and very sexy man.
Airik is a leader, director of the Pre-Cog program on his planet. Powerful and respected, but in need of a wife in order to meet his planet's requirements for keeping his position. He allows his brother to sign him up for a wife through the TerraMates program and so knows very little about Quinn's background when he brings her to his planet and marries her, including which planet she's from. Despite his indifference, and Quinn's fear of being exposed and rejected because of her abilities, these two have off the charts sexual chemistry and are happy to begin the physical side of their marriage. Luckily, because they both have pyshic abilities they soon find out how much they have in common and Quinn finds a welcome place in her new home planet.
This was another fabulous story of love, danger, and the couple saving the day or in this case, the planet. Quinn, was a strong female lead with surprising abilities and a very determined personality. Airik doesn't know quite how to handle this woman who is bringing out emotions in him he is not comfortable feeling... it doesn't fit with his always in control persona. What he does know is that she is sexy as hell and he isn't ready to give her up at the end of their one year contract. He just needs to convince Quinn he really cares for her.
I listened to the audio version of Alpha's Enslaved Bride. There is both a male and a female narrator who alternate per chapter based on the point of view for a particular chapter. I thought it worked out well and that each narrator did a great job of voicing the various characters. Overall a great story I highly recommend! 4 stars
~Complimentary copy provided by author. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
The title idea has to be from some horrible climber at the publisher's office, because it has NOTHING to do with this story. Earth girl has visions of the future and is targeted by a group of religious zealots who call her a witch. Heroine joins TerraMates to escape them.
Hero is on a planet that forces population to marry by a certain age or they loose their jobs. (Later it comes out that this planet has population issues and needs more people) Hero is the Director of the Pre-Cog division for the government. This planet acknowledges psychic powers, trains them and utilizes them to prevent disasters.
It was a ho-hum story. Hero is a cold jerk who only has taken in the sack. Heroine is /not/ a doormat, which was a nice change. The hero is NOT an Alpha. The Heroine is NOT enslaved. The title is incredibly stupid and misleading.
I think this one just melted my heart it was so cute by the end, and damn the theme on this one was so hot and cool, psychics that was a cool story.
Airik and Quinn made my day brighter, sure they had some problems in their relationship but who doesn't, I think they're circumstances were a little dark but they were pretty intriguing.
I think what I liked the most was the change in story, i liked the plot that Quinn was being persecuted by this mad cult and aww I did felt bad for Airik on the memory with her ex, it was so hard hearing that one.
The erotic part was pretty sweet for me, not that hard nor too exaggerated so it was nice.
The title of this book is SO way off base. The Hero was not what I would consider an alpha. He was an intellectual type. Not once did he have an alpha moment. The heroine was never enslaved. She entered the Terramates program to escape an organization that was trying to kill her. The only part that was correct was that she was a bride....
I gave this three stars because I was interested the whole story. But I found the conclusion to be disappointing and kind of corny. Puh-leez!
Title: Alpha's Enslaved Bride Series: TerraMates Novel A SciFi Alien Mail Order Bride Romance Destination: Book 4, 272 Pages, Author: Lisa Lace Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Genre: #SciFi #Aliens My Score: 4 Stars ☆☆☆☆
♡¤▪♡¤▪♡¤▪♡¤▪♡¤▪♡¤▪♡¤▪♡¤▪♡¤▪♡¤▪♡ This is the 4th book in the TerraMates Series I've read, it was a good read but not as good as the ones before, but even saying that I wouldn't have wanted to miss this book. Ms. Lace's characters were right on and the plot was excellent, as usual her words flowed page by page but still I felt that something was missing. What's missing you tell me? I really can't figure it out. The only thing I know for certain is I couldn't figure out who was the Alpha's Enslaved Bride? Quinn Maloney has to get away from Earth because she has visions of the future. Some visions she tried to help the people that she saw dying. No one believes her until someone dies, then she's called a freak, a witch, they bullied her, through eggs on her she tried to hide she tried everything so she left town with her dad. Wouldn't you know the Sons of the Heavenly Father, (man doesn't that sound like peace-loving people). They followed her almost succeeding in kidnapping her but her dad and the police saw it, started running but the kidnappers ran away. Airik Buhari is the Director of the Precog Division, on the Planet Koccoran which he worked very hard to rise up in the ranks. He was a workaholic spending days with no sleep because he loved his job, he was going to lose it all because he has not married before his The Akuna. His brother told him about some crazy idea about TerraMates and it was crazy but what did he have to lose he didn't want to lose his job he had to do it so marry a complete stranger he did. When he went to pick her up from the space station from Earth he couldn't believe his eyes she was beautiful oh God this is going to be a long year. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.
'I woke to the feel of a hot, hard body on top of me. A knee spread my legs, and I felt Airik thrust into me. I was wet and aroused, which meant he must have touched me in my sleep before I woke up. I wanted to be irritated with him. I wanted to sit up and stop him. I said I didn't want to have sex with him anymore, but the feeling of him plunging into me drove every thought except pleasure out of my head.'
I have a serious problem with that scene there. I find it very upsetting that even after Quinn specifically says she doesnt want to have sex again she wakes up to this. Its a bit creepy to wake up and realize someone has been touching you and having sex with you while you slept no?
And his justification for the act is that she was sleeping naked. In their home?
The book started of sweet enough, if a bit awkward between the couple, and then it wasnt swet anymore. It seems the only one enslaving the bride here is her husband.
Quinn escapes a world that wants to burn her for her special abilities by signing up as a bride. Airik encourages her to hone her skills and then he begins to get jealous of her skills. He also can't seem to care about anything more than having sex with Quinn.
There were a few times where things were just left hanging. He didnt apologize or even seem repentant that his actions were hurting his wife's feelings.
In a life and death situation he suddenly realizes he's in love and everything. After having read the rest of books i feel like most of this book was not about the couple and when it was, it was about how unhappy they were.
The three stars are only because I enjoyed the ending.
I received this book free for an honest review. I have listened to every one of Lisa Lace's TerreMate books. If I hadn't received the first book free, based on this story being "mail order", I probably would never have been interested in reading them. However, I find this series to be one of the best I have read. I found this book to be exciting, with a well planned story, romantic, and even thrilling. The relationship between Quinn and Airik has a similar flavor as do the other TerreMate books. Quinn has a legitimate reason to leave Earth and seek another planet. I don't totally understand why Airik has to get married, but he does. The budding relationship is troubled with the lack of communication. Lisa Lace did a great job of making this just enough different from the rest of her books to make it unique, but similar in order to result in the suspense and romance that makes these books great. It is not a one-dimensional story. It is full of laughter and seriousness to make it hard to put down. The narrators did a great job of portraying the characters and making them come alive.
Excellently wondrous. I devoured this in one fantastic sitting. I loved this story. Heavy secrets come to life and are met with acceptance. Love comes quickly for Quinn, but Airik's denial keeps the story rolling. The ability to see the future isn't one of my favorite abilities but I have to admit I found myself thoroughly enjoying Lisa Lace's interpretation. Although the burning at the stake notion was appalling it does give us an enemy to hate.
As for the title I found it confusing, yes, Airik is alpha, but is she really enslaved? In love more like. Nothing slave-like but I kind of understand. I just find it misleading is all. Even so I loved this book. Wish I could see some rainbow snow. It sounded exquisite.
We all know how it feels when others think our differences make us weird in one way or another, and this Terramates book is no different. Quinn is hunted because others are scared of her gift and she runs to Terramates to escape from the danger. Due to the fact she loses her folder about her husband to be planet she doesn't realize she is just like the others on the planet. This author always does a wonderful job with the characters in her books drawing you in and not letting go. I was given a free ARC copy of this story in exchange for an honest review
In this TerraMates novel Quinn Maloney has a gift of seeing the future & when she foresees her own death she decides to join TerraMates Alien Mail Order Bride service where she gets matched up with Airik a sexy alien who can see the future too. But she soon discovers there is one problem he knows nothing about earth or humans. A captivating science fiction novel that takes you on a futuristic romantic thriller ride. An action packed novel with just enough twists & turns to keep you interested. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reading copy of this book.
The title threw me off but the book was fascinating. It had trauma, bigotry for someone who was different finally find a whole world where you can finally fit in. Frustration over loving someone who has closed off his Heart and finally having her loved returned. The only problem I have with story was that Quinn's father never knew what happen to his daughter and vice versa. Other than that I would highly recommend this book so far is the best in the series.
Really enjoyed reading about Quinn and Airik. You have two people from different planets were their gifts are treated to different extremes. On earth Quinn is hunted to the point of death.
Whilst on Airik's planet you are welcomed.
The author kept the story on point with a sense of adventure, mystery and acceptance. Just because you can see the possible future does not mean it is set in stone.
Well worth reading. Received this book for free in exchange for a honest review.
I got this on Kindle Unlimited and was pleasantly surprised. I loved the characters and the plot kept me interested. Airik's big trauma was a bit overblown and a letdown. He seemed like a wussy drama queen. Maybe aliens on his planet hold on to pointless memories differently than humans do?
This is my favorite book in this series and my only 5 star for this series. I have no idea what the title has to do with the book and it doesn't really feel like an alien planet but more of a futuristic romantic thriller on earth. I thought this was original and interesting and I want to find more books like this one.
I really enjoyed this sci-fi romance. It was well written and it has a great storyline with the precogs. Plus a hunky alpha alien and his sweet human mate. I'm glad I own this book.
The author is amazing; I can sense her passion and fascination when writing this series. It had awesome characters that fascinate you and a book that leaves you wanting more? I rate this as a must buy and just keep them coming.
Hate to say it but I think the books are getting worse as the series goes on
And considering she has 16 books in this series that really freaks me out....Okay so this one is about Quinn and Airrik, Quinn is from Earth and she has premonitions which leads to crazy relidous cults to try and kill her so her father suggests she sign up for TerraMates program so she can go to a different planet hopefully out of the reach of the religious cult. Airrik is what they call a Precog he has premonitions as well and he has a vision of his true love and sees she is from Earth and she is going to die he sees her get shot in the neck and then he is woke up by his ditzy girlfriend...So Airrik is head of the Precog department or whatever it is and they have some archaic law stating that he has to be married by a certain age or he loses his job, which leads to him signing up for a bride....Now him and Quinn are married and they have no clue who they are to each other so if you're reading this you probably say Hey that actually sounds interesting I would have to say you're right it would have been a good read had the author screwed up on the story like she's done in all her books so far..Airrik knows the love of his life is from Earth but he just keeps forgetting to ask his wife what planet she came from *sigh* on their wedding night Quinn asks him "what about protection?" Which leads to Airrik asking her what does she mean and she says "Well, we have these things called condoms on Earth. They're like a latex glove that wraps around your..." I'm sitting their reading expecting any minute he's gonna have his AHA moment and connect the dots but Nooooooooo it goes on for couple more chapters and at the end of the chapter Airrik is thinking to him self ""I wondered again what her planet of origin was. Kartar hadn't given me any details."" When I read that I thought okay how can the author not remember she let it slip which planet she was from I don't know maybe I'm reading too much into it but I think it's Piss poor editing I think if I was reviewing this for someone I would point that out to them quickly anyways the book was okay but very unfulfilling I don't think they ever really figured out what or why Quinn was so different from the other Precog people I mean girlfriend could literally light your fire but the author I guess didn't feel that was important info even though she brought it up a lot but didn't feel the need to explain how she became that way so either way I leave it to you to decide if u want to read on or not
Lisa Lace is becoming my go to author for Sci-Fi romance, so when I got a chance to Listen to the Alphas Enslaved Bride I was so excited and I pressed play as soon as I got the chance and it was just such an fantastic story , it hooked me so fast and the narrator did an amazing job .
In this book we follow Quinn and Airik . There is a group called the sons of heavenly father , who mission in life is to kill anything out of the norm and Quinn happens to be a psychic . After the last encounter with them she goes to TerraMates for an opportunity to get off earth and live some where else ,but she must be married for a year to Airik . They both think this is going to be a easy situation , that they wont have feelings for each other and will get divorces after the year . However the minute these two see each other , you can just tell that will not be happening and this is really where the story picks . I loved the romance in the book , it wasn't the typical type , it actually showed up some common problems in marriage , there were part of this book where my heart broke for these two because you could see that cared for each other and the sex wasn't the problem , however when the communication isn't strong it can create a big divide and I Ioved that Lisa Lace showed that in this book .Despite everything that was happening between them I rooted for them and I wanted to see them happy together,I was so happy with the ending of there story honestly if I could give Lisa Lace a hug right now I would.
I also wanted to to talk about the abilities in this book .I thought it was so cool that Quinn essential ending up going to planet filled with psychics after facing so much troubles on earth because of her abilities. It was amazing seeing her use her gift to help others and in a way empower her self. I was just fascinated with the Pre - cog division and how it worked . I think The Alpha's Enslaved Bride has to be one of favorite books by Lisa Lace just because of the journey it takes you on .It was sexy , thrilling and filled with all the sci-fi elements that I just love . I cannot wait to get my hands on Lisa Lace's next book because her stories just continue to get more and more amazing . if you love all these thing in your books you should definitely pick up a copy .

This was a bonus read in the book I just finished Cyborg Fury by this author and it was so good I'm going to buy more in this series. I may check out some of here other series also. In this book Quinn is a psychic that has visions of the future and on planet Earth she is being chased by a religious group that wants to kill her, calling her a witch. To try and escape Earth and her enemies she signs up to be a mail-order bride on another planet. Airik is a PreCog and is head of his dept. but to stay as head he has to be married before his next birthday. His brother Kartar signed him up with TerrMates to get a bride before his birthday. It's an exciting and refreshing journey to the 1 year mark when they have to decide to stay married or divorce. Great read.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily decided to review it
Quinn is a freak on Earth, or so she is always told. Her father convinces her to get a husband through Terramates so she can go to another planet and be safe, she ends up marrying Airik, a precog, where she finds she is not a freak at all
I loved the chemistry between Quinn and Airik, i enjoyed how Quinn becomes a strong resilient woman who knows what she wants and how she flourishes. I enjoyed Airik struggling with his demons
Well written with excitement drama romance and steam this is an awesome book in the Terramates series,I loved it and highly recommend
Another interesting TerraMates story from Lisa Lace. This one has a bit of a twist with an alien race with psychic abilities. I found it quite interesting and ended up reading it all in one sitting! I just couldn't wait to find out what happened next. The only thing is I can't quite figure out the title - how it relates. In any case, it is a stand alone book with a happily ever after that won't leave you hanging. I hope that Ms. Lace writes more about this race of aliens. I found some of the characters very interesting and would like to know their stories (Rob...Neesa). Plus I would like to read an update on the main characters of this book, Airik and Quinn. Fingers crossed...
My cat is more alien than this series. I don't know about anyone else, but for me, in order to qualify a story as "Science Fiction Romance" you have to write a story about an actual alien, not just say character A is an alien, living on this unknown planet. This story could've taken place anywhere on Earth as the aliens had realtors, 9-5 jobs, holidays, bathing suits, homes that are laid out exactly like an Earth home, cars, phones, mail service... it never ended. There wasn't a single thing alien about the situation and I'm confused as to how anyone could think that possessing ESP would make them alien?
It is true that it is not at all clear to me why this is the title of this book, but ok… First, the protagonists are a little strenuous. But the very point of an arranged marriage is usually difficult to understand, so… However, if my partner tells me that he will be with someone else in the foreseeable future…Uh!! She is traumatized and misunderstood, but through the book she finds her strength and dedicates herself to a career like Airik. And how hard it must be in life when you always have the feeling that something is at your fingertips and you just can't catch it… All in all, its important in the end they really need to solve all their problems for themselves in order to be happy.
Out of the frying pan and into the fire....this saying could describe Quinn's new life. Fearing for her life, she approaches TerraMates and becomes a mail-order bride. Leaving Earth and the cult after her should ensure her safety. Wrong. The planet Koccoran may not be the safe haven Quinn was looking for. Will Airik, her new husband, be able to save Quinn from the future she has seen? I believe this is one of the best in the series.
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
This story was included with Ayrie: An Auxem Novel, but I really liked it and wanted to list it separately so I could find it again. The title doesn't seem to match, but I thought the story was different from a lot of alien/paranormal romances, with interesting characters, and a really good premise. Even though there were some hiccups on the way to HEA, the characters weren't incredibly juvenile, even though the h pulled a couple of dumb stunts, and of course it all worked out!
Don't let the title fool you! This book is NOT about an enslaved bride. It is about a human with special gifts in need of escape and an alien who needs a wife to keep his career and satisfy a law on his planet. The story itself is pretty well written and full of action as well as angsty romance. The title however, threw me off because it really doesn't fit. Both of these narrators are somewhat new to me but did an excellent job and fit the characters well.
This one was a very sweet Terramates! Quinn is a very strong woman to have endured what she did on Earth and not know that the planet she moved to was ok with abilities. I wish at the end we could of had an update on her father. Like he moves to the planet with them or something. Airik was kind of a jerk through most of the book. Even if he had a reason. Either way this was a sweet love story!
