Cyborg Sizzle #3

Crash And Burn

Rate this book
Crash was manufactured to be one of the best warriors in the universe. The cyborg has spent many human lifespans fighting the enemy. But, unlike his battle-loving brethren, he doesn’t enjoy killing. When he escapes the Humanoid Alliance, he vows to never end another life.

Then he meets Safyre, an infuriating human female, and he considers breaking his vow.

Safyre will do anything to save her friend, the being she loves like a sister. She’ll ravish a huge hunky cyborg, kiss his best friend, and invoke scorching hot desires the male never realized he could feel. Dark soulful eyes, a quick wit, and a tempestuous passion won’t divert her from her mission.

Love, and a planet-destroying weapon, however, might stop her permanently.

Crash And Burn is Book 3 in the Cyborg Sizzle series and is a STANDALONE story.
It is also a dark BBW Cyborg SciFi Romance.

So, read the first book, Rage and really liked it. So, I skipped to book 3 because I really liked his sidekicks Crash & Gap. But, this book pissed me off & upset me because she killed off Gap just as he found his female....he was so sweet and excited....the whole thing broke my heart. And for me that overshadowed the entire book. I almost quit reading it after that....I mean really, if you are going to kill off a main character, news flash...don't kill off the one everyone adored....if I wanted to see crap like that I would watch the flippin news. So now I’m not sure if I will be reading anymore of this series, I read for entertainment, not to be emotionally spent. Even with that said, she is a great writer.

One being was fighting for his and his brethrens' freedom. Another was fighting to rescue her lifelong friend. One is used to the sound, company, and workings of a collective while the other is used to being very much alone. When the two meet, it's not exactly a meeting of the minds. Where Crash is rational, logical, and dominant, Safyre is abrasive, aggressive, and impulsive. However, they couldn't be more right for each other. Resigned to a life without a mate, Crash had found his other half and nothing and no one, not even Safyre herself, was going to stand in the way of his claim.

The more I learn about these cyborgs, about their fight and hunger for freedom, the harder I find myself falling for them. They are fierce, loyal, and surprisingly passionate. I love how the author not only describes how powerful and almost indestructible these men are, but she always finds a unique way to illuminate their humanity. I'm so happy Crash found his perfect match and although she doesn't match him in temperament, she will definitely challenge him. Their practically eternal existence won't be boring, to say the least! My heard did break at a certain part and I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to pick up the pieces going forward. I'm far from finished delving in the delicious depths of these cyborgs and I'm about to jump into their next adventure!

The third book in this series and yet so much growth has taken place. I will be frank and say this series started out far darker with bdsm elements that not all readers appreciate and yet this book truly takes, shakes and breaks the mould! Yes it's still an erotic read but the emotion runs free and allows the story to really take wings.
Ok now that's enough gushing from me but is it deserved? Crash is unlike any other cyborg the author has so far delivered. Born and bred for battle but Crash doesn't want to kill anymore. Catching a transmission by a human female with a plan to save her friend Crash develops a plan of his own . Yes Crash will aid but no the stubborn Safyre will most definitely not be going planet side . No because Crash yearns for a female of his own and eventually ( gee men have no idea sometimes human or cybernetic !) Crash is sure Safyre will forgive him. You just know it's all going to go pear shaped but some missions have far reaching consequences!
Safyre is a woman unafraid to use her womanly wiles to get what she wants but she just might have met her match in Crash. I loved seeing the softer side of these guys and their humourous interactions breathed so much life into the story. Yet these sexy warriors have feelings and it came across quite poignantly here. A strong spunky heroine partnered with a hero who would literally do anything to help her and yes that sometimes does mean letting her take the lead . I've high hopes that the author will allow the cyborg Death to step into the spotlight soon but until then urge those who enjoy sexy sci fi to start this series.

I really liked this book even though I wasn't really in the mood for the strong female - intellectual male romance. But it worked and I really enjoyed it. The climax hit me hard though and I hate admitting I shed a few tears.

Or maybe a lot.

But the story was really good and left me feel like I need to pick up another book in this series. So that's what I did.

I really liked this book. It was fast paced and over before I knew it. I really connected with Safyre and Crash’s relationship and their story was definitely entertaining. I’m highly anticipating the next book and I can’t wait to get started.

I'd forgotten how, umm, dominating these cyborgs can be. Which is an understandable state of mind seeing as how they've just freed themselves from a pretty craptastic existence and they're bred to be strong and commanding. Might as well grab onto life with both hands and all that, right?

Especially once they find the special lady friend who makes all their metal parts burn.

(As an aside, these poor guys are so starved for kindness, it's kinda rough to read. In a good way, mind you. Like, you WANT them--all of them--to find their match and experience some happiness.)

Crash and Safyre definitely clash in the best sort of way. He's protective and domineering, while she's used to being on her own, answerable to no one. It makes for some fantastic arguments and even better make-up sex. Or whatever you want to call it when they use their arguments as foreplay.

I like these cyborgs who are finding their place in this dark, messed-up universe. Here's to plenty more of them meeting their other half.

Cyborg Crash has to help his human female rescue a friend before the planet is destroyed. Crash is a bit softer than Rage (Releasing Rage), but sexier in my opinion. The ending came as a surprise to me, but it was completely appropriate for the story and worked well. I liked the strong heroine in this story.

Scavengers Unite!

Safyre and Crash are great together! Hot sex, great dynamic and a wonderful story. The burn portion, hurt to read, but was a happy moment as well. Wish it didn't have to be that way, but that part of the story makes for more of a dynamic.

The fight for freedom of the cyborgs continue. Crash thinks his meeting with Safyre will allow a pleasant future as companions, not believing that he will have a one true mate like his brethren - it's not an easy first meeting between them and he soon learns that Safyre is a challenge and likes to be 'won'.

Crash is a little self-deprecating and battle weary with his vow never to take life again, he's looking for a quiet life and being a mentor/friend to the younger Gap, both of them having escaped from the Battle Station with Rage (from the first book). Gap is like an eager puppy, looking for his female and full of passion for a happy future now he is free. I didn't really get on with Safyre, I like a heroine to be sassy and less of the simperr and eyelash flutter - but there was just something about her character that grated on my last nerve....

I was a little shocked around Gap finding his true love, it was not expected and it hurt, a lot.... The last transmission was poignant and sad, but he was not alone and in those precious few seconds, he found what he'd been dreaming of......

It was nice to catch up with a few of the previous characters, although, this could be read as a standalone. There were introductions of new side characters and the saving of children from the war zone - I hope the young cyborg gets his story.

Overall, another entertaining read.

I just... ❤️😭❤️😭❤️

This story has stuck with me for YEARS. I first read it in 2016, and continue to think about it even now. I started rereading the series yesterday due to this story, and I’m so glad I did. It’s such an amazing story. I don’t have the words to describe what this story did to me. I laughed, I ugly cried, and I smiled. Crash, Safyre, Gap, Nymphia, Death, Mayhem, Menace... all the characters in this story are so important, become beloved friends to the reader. The pain, the heartbreak, feels like I’ve lost an actual friend. That’s how you know it’s a truly awesome story by a brilliant author... the characters, the words invoke true feelings. I know this story will stay with me another 4 years at least, and I’ll read it again and again.

Book 1 with Rage had a more emotional connection.

Also the death of a secondary character really bothered me. I'm reading a romance novel, I expect all the good guys to make it out alive.

I loved the first 3 books and I solidly liked this one, but there was a few moments where the relationship and sex scenes seemed out of place or forced. Which I honestly didn't expect because the first 2 did not feel that way. It might have been that Crash showed a softer side and his female was more Dominant than the other leads in this series.

Also there were some developments in Cyborgs finding their females that seemed hazy. I wish there was more explanation as to how they determined that one female was for every cyborg. Do they get chances? one a generation? I have questions...

However Cynthia still pulled me in and then pulled the rug out. I love this series and I will be continuing it. Hopefully the stories will continue to develop and the characters will show up again as they truly make this series what it is.

Another fabulous addition to the series.

Loved Crash. He was... Well, perfect. Loved his honor and loyalty. Blown away by his ability to love and his fragility. Yes, you read it right. Crash despite all his mechanics and capabilities as a warrior, is fragile where his female and his friends are concerned. This especially shows up in one painful moment.

Was amazed by Safyre. By her strength and loyalty to her friends. The only think I was irked about, was her discard towards her life. She didn't think her life was important. And it was so wrong in so many aspects.

I would say each story in the series, gets better, but that kinda would be wrong. Because each story is special and a must read. Can't wait for the next one.

These books are really so much more enjoyable and understandable when you read them in order despite them being marketed as standalone books. I loved seeing Joan and Rage again, even in those circumstances, and loved the slight grounding in reality the book gave. I have read most of this series and find Cynthia's writing enjoyable, but repetitive. The same words are used at the same moments, and the same phrases are pounded in, page after page. I admit there is still something super fun about this world and the romances in it and that lets me look past the repetitive writing. If you want hot sex, these books are good. If you want a dark but uncomplicated plot, these books are yours. I'm going to wind up reading every one of these stories regardless of the repetitive writing.

So pilot Safyre has a cyborg communication device implanted in her brain in an attempt to contact a cyborg to help her rescue her best friend Nymphia. Crash is that cyborg. They have some pretty heated brain conversations where Crash decides that Safyre is his female. He captures her and they battle it out as Safyre tries to get him to rescue her friend.

This was a hot read. I loved Safyre’s strength. I loved how the two fought and their banter. I was really into the storyline.

But I just hated the depressing rescue attempt. Why did the author have to make it so sad? It could have been a truly uplifting rescue. Well it sucked big time. I found it hard to finish the book after this as I was so depressed.

After escaping from the Humanoid Alliance with Rage and Joan, Crash and Gap are ready to go out and find their own females. Gap knows that his female is out there somewhere. When Crash finds his female, it turns out that she is wearing a scarf that smells like Gap's female. The three of them undertake a really dangerous rescue mission, with dire results.

I love all of the Cyborg Sizzle books. This one is no different. The attraction between the guys and their females is fantastic. There is a sad point in this story which makes me cry every time I read it. I'm always excited to read more of Cynthia Sax's books.

A totally addictive read, I loved this story from start to finish. Safyre is a character who is easy to connect with. Her emotions and loyalties run deep. She has a group of friends who are her chosen family and would die trying to save them. Crash is also very similar to her in those main ways. Gap was a breath of fresh air but I felt that Nympema was not fleshed out enough, but they were the real heart of this story. There is enough action to keep the story exciting but not so much to make it oppressive. I have loved every book in this series so far, but my heart really felt it when the consequences of war caught up with them. I actually cried when they told Rage, it was that sad.

author killed off , who was such a sweetheart. also, the kid h is out to rescue. (they rescue lots of other ppl though). oh, and a whole planet full of people. make that, a whole planet, full of people. because Tau Ceti, the entire planet is vaporised (yeah, no chance of Pepe from book 2 or Gap and Nyphra, or whatever her name is, coming back from the dead). read on at your peril.

Not bad for boy-meets-girl-they-fall-in-lust. But... not that great either. i'm still feeling the deaths :'(

I think it will be impossible for me to read a book in this great series and not fall head over hills in love by the Cyborg MC...

Crash is such a strong cyborg, but his goal is to find his female, not to kill on the war...

Safyre has her reasons to contact Crash... save her friend... but in the meantime, she found her own Cyborg to love.

Cynthia did it again... one more amazing book. I can't wai for Death book

Loved it!

He Found His

She is a kick ass captain who is fearless. She is willing to do whatever is necessary to complete her goal. He is a leader among his cyborg brethren and he wants to make sure they are protected from the Human Alliance. He has decided to claim her, even though he hasn't met her yet, because her voice and picture has captivated him. This is an intense exciting hot read. Enjoy I did. On to #4.

Sweet Crash...who knew I could completely and irrevocably fall in love with a Cyborg. Where I lusted for Rage, Vapor and Green I lost my heart to Crash. As their world is changing some not for the better they strive to meet their link to a future that was never promised but is cherished.

4 rated as erotica
This was better than the first. If you don't like losing characters, you might not want to read it as some characters are killed off. This had a bit of plot thrown into the erotica and romance and ended up being a pretty good erotic read.

I KNEW that was going to happen to Gap, because he was my favourite from the start.

This book had some emotional moments and I liked the main characters more than I did the previous ones. I had a lot less issues when reading this, probably because I liked the emotions it evoked.
