I bought this sweet contemporary romance as a 99c Kindle special, thinking that this sounded like a nice change of pace from the "he done her wrong and is now trying to win her back" type of plots that Jennifer Peel tends to gravitate to. Kenadie (she of the "sable-colored eyes") is the owner of a successful personal relationship company (matchmaking, though she hates the word), but she's refused to date any man since she was abandoned at the altar seven years ago, after her fiancé made a cruel, dismissive statement. Still: seven. years. ago. And she won't give any man the time of day.

Enter Jason, the best friend of Kenadie's work partner Zander. Jason clearly wants to get to know Kenadie better, but because he's aware of her personal issues he plays the long game: becoming a client of their company, asking Kenadie to go out with him on a trial basis, inviting her to go on platonic-ish outings with him, dating the ladies she sets him up with ...

This story dragged on and on, and Kenadie took forever to start to take off her armor, even in the slightest degree. It was highly frustrating and veered into boring territory for me; I had to start skimming to get through this book. I liked Jason, he's a nice guy, but I spent most of the book wanting to slap Kenadie upside the head. And I've never seen a heroine who's so blind to what's going on in her life, right in front of her face. Okay, she's purposely put blinders on, but I just couldn't buy into that degree of obliviousness, at all.

Now where's another good "he done her wrong" book?

Could not put it down! Another 2:00 am finish for me. The romantic dynamics reminded me a bit of Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson, except in a contemporary setting and with different conflicts. Fabulous chemistry and romantic tension complete with fun banter, friendship, and yearning for more. Highly recommend!!!

Ow. This book is painfully one-note. A bad experience seven years ago has Kenadie so wound up she can't even look at guys, let alone date them. Which is odd seeing as she runs a matching/relationship service. I'm sorry, but seven years is just too long for this to be such a huge part of her life, particularly when her entire profession is built around relationships and compatibility. I found I couldn't take her seriously and each repetition of her stupid litany about pain made me like her less. Which is a shame because there's a lot there to like. I kept it up through a quarter of the book hoping for some hint of some other note besides "poor me, I'm so scarred" but no dice. I hate to miss getting to know Jason better. He seems like a nice guy. Sadly, I can't stand spending any more time in that pit of despair.

Also, Zander is a freaking jerk and I can't stand that nobody calls him out on his crappy behavior. Sorry, not loveable or goofy, just immature and stupid. Once I thought about screaming for Jason to save himself from the toxic duo I just couldn't go on.

This one is my favorite of Jennifer Peel's to date! Kenadie has been burned and burned good. After she was jilted at the alter, relationships have a bad taste to them and she wants nothing to do with them. Seven years later, she and her best friend, Zander, are working at a company she created to help others find their one true love. She's only ever had success stories. But something like that can't last, can it?

Zander is the kind of best friend that ever girl needs and wants. He's a little inappropriate, but his heart is huge. He is great at building up self-esteem, listening, and distracting Kenadie from the depressing things in life. She can count on him for anything. They once tested things in high school to see how a relationship between them would go down, but it so wasn't happening.

Life changes when Zander introduces Kenadie to Jason, his former college roommate. Jason is a knight in shining armor. He's recently single from a bad breakup as well, and I loved it when it was mentioned that he has the patience of Job because that's what I was thinking for most of the book. He's kind, chivalrous, handsome, and will do whatever it takes to give Kenadie space, while still trying to woo her. He's the perfect hero for this story!

There were moments when I wanted to slap Kenadie. Really...7 years is a long time to be so bitter. It just goes to show how deeply she feels and how much she wants to protect herself from that heartache again. She is a little slow when it comes to hints and clues, but it's all worth it.

I loved the journeys and progress that's made. Kenadie has a wonderful family and support and they're all so patient with her. Jason and Zander each have their own secrets and journeys to go through as well. There's nothing more satisfying than a story with a great plot, strong characters, and a romance that makes me swoon. This story has it all and more! Zander is the best friend that every girls wants and needs; Jason is patient and persistent; and Kenadie is stubborn and protective, but when you mix them together with a dating site, fireworks, surprises, and magic happen...and I loved every minute of it!

Content: a few mild expletives; mild romance and innuendo. Clean!

Another great book from Jennifer Peel. Lots of fun. I loved both Jason and Zander. Kenadie was so stubborn she started to drive me crazy but it made for a great story. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

March 2018:

I'm sure it will come as no surprise to hear that I still absolutely love His Personal Relationship Manager! It's been a couple of years since I have read it so it was kinda like reading it for the first time all over again! I got sucked in all over again! I can't wait to reread Zander's book!

January 2016:

Kenadie has suffered the worst of humiliations... being left at the alter. If that wasn't bad enough her controlling ex-fiance called her names and said some awful things to her in front of everyone! Crushed and heartbroken, she locks her heart up tight and refuses to let anyone enter in ever again. She has her mom, her brothers, her niece and her best friend, Zander. She doesn't need anyone else. She throws herself into her business, Binary Search. She is determined to do whatever she can to make it so no one has to go through what she went through. Everyday she is just going through the motions... she is not living her life... she is just existing. .

Jason has been jilted by his ex-fiance as well. He moves to Georgia for a fresh start. From the first moment he met Kenadie, he felt a connection. He had never met anyone like her before. The more time he spent with her the more he wanted to pursue this beautiful, intriguing, complicated woman. He definitely has his work cut out for him and will need to have the patience of Job if he ever wants to snag this beauty that has no clue he is falling in love with her!

Watching Kenadie and Jason get to know each other and watching their friendship grow into something more was sweet and beautiful and yes, at times, frustrating! I wanted to shake Kenadie and say "Hello!! Wake up!! It's you!! It's always been you!!" Lol. But as mentioned before Jason has the patience of Job. He was NOT going to give up on them! *dreamy sigh* I absolutely LOVE Jason! He is my new favorite hero! <3

There were just so many things I loved about this book! The one liners... the old biddies... Hawaii Five-O... Gibbs slaps that Kenadie would give Zander.

And speaking of Zander... I absolutely LOVED him! Even when he was acting like a punk! But I get where he was coming from... I really do! We all need a best friend like Zander! I wonder if Ms. Peel will ever think of giving him his own book?!?! That would be the icing on the cake for me!! ;) Hehe.

This was another home run by Jennifer Peel!! There is a reason she quickly jumped to the top of my favorite authors list... she is AMAZING!! I have seriously LOVED all of her books!! They just keep getting better and better!! This is definitely my new favorite of hers!! I can't WAIT to see what she has in store for us next!!

And of course I just cannot forget my casting choices!! This one was actually a no brainer for me... these two were just PERFECT in my opinion!! ;)

This has been nominated for a 2016 Swoony Award. Share the love and vote for it here.

Totally cute!

I thought this was a fun read, fun plot and likable characters. Kenadie was jilted on her wedding day, at the alter. Pretty much the worst way possible and she's still not quite over it. Even though she ended up dodging a bullet, the controlling and abusive fiancé did his damage and Kenadie thinks its better to just stay away from men. With the exception of her best friend Zander. The two have been close for forever and do everything together. Zander is worried about Kenadie and wants to help her move past her pain.

This was a fun read. Kenadie's dating service sounded like a good idea, I like that it was way more personalized than online dating sites. Kenadie was a likable character, I feel bad that she was hurt and that she held on to it for so long. I liked Zander, I had an idea of what was going on with him and I'm glad it looks like he'll be getting his own book. Jason was great, just an all-around nice guy. He and Kenadie were cute together and I liked seeing their relationship evolve. Overall, a fun contemporary romance!

Super cute!!!! This is my third or fourth Jennifer Peel book and I am hooked! I really enjoy her writing, her stories and the fun, witty, sweet romance. There are plenty of ups and downs between the characters that give enough angst and yet enough pull to keep the reader(me) wanting to turn the pages. This one took me longer to read because of my busy schedule right now but let me tell you I loved my reading time when kids went to bed. I curled up and read and read and would instantly fall asleep. LOL. Long days and exhaustion won out but every chance I could I was opening the pages and reading!

Kenadie has sealed up, bricked up, walled up, hidden away(and any other phrase you want to add here) her heart. She was young, naive and gave it away too soon only to have it ripped out and trampled on, crushing it completely! She will never have another chance at her happily ever after because she won't put herself out there again. Yet she still believes that happily ever after exists and wants others to experience and have that in their lives. So she takes her pain and creates an amazing way to ensure others achieve happiness. She creates Binary Search, a personal relationship management company that has a long process and compatibility test to ensure great matches. And it works!

Kenadie and her best friend Zander run the company together. What more could she need in her life? She has a best friend, a great niece who is more like a daughter, wonderful family support and lots of personal time for her interests. Zander is great about pulling Kenadie out from her reclusive lifestyle and into social settings. He's very protective of her too because of the heartache she went through. Kenadie has changed and Zander is determined to help her come back out of her shell. When Zander notices Kenadie showing interest(a very, very, very mild interest) in his college roommate Jason, he decides it's time to do all he can to encourage Kenadie to live again.

The book is written from Kenadie's point of view and has a good mix of fun, humor, heartache, soul-searching and yes love. Kenadie's mom is a character to be reckoned with. I loved watching Kenadie stretch herself in ways that were hard and painful for her. I loved the friendship between her, Jason and Zander. Some pretty fun moments. I will say that I loved the beach scene. And several others. Definitely a sweet and swoony read! I just saw today that there's a second book in this series coming out sometime this month(March 2017). All I have to say about that is Woohooo!!!!

Content: Clean. Some kissing, a few mild innuendos and if I remember right a couple very mild swearwords. I'd recommend this for anyone who loves a witty, swoony, clean romance.

My own personal copy, part of the Love and Romance: 15 Sweet Contemporary Romances boxset.

Happy Reading!!!

Here's the problem with the whole "runs a dating service and falls in love with a client" storyline -- it can be the same thing over and over, as the h sets the H up with dates and then doesn't understand why she's so ambivalent about them, then many tiny agonies, lather, rinse, repeat. This book falls into that category. The only reason why I didn't give it a single star is because it was very clear that the H was crazy about the h.

I really enjoyed this one! But that's no shocker since it's coming from Ms. Peel!! As it is with most of Ms. Peel's books, the style of writing felt like Kenadie just telling me the story over coffee...the book reads so conversationally.

Kenadie was a fun, spunky character. I enjoyed her sarcasm and style (it might sound like a silly thing, but I love when I can easily picture the character, even down to their outfit is described). And while I probably would have given into Jason sooner than she did, she knew she struggled with personal relationships and she wished she was better at them, but it was understandably hard for her after her relationship with Brian and being left at the altar. She just didn't know if she trusted herself and her judgment when it came to men...so opening her heart to Jason was difficult. I have to admit I wanted to sit her down and say "now listen, honey..." and talk some sense into her when it came to Jason and letting go of her past, but that's also what made her so real. Who hasn't had (or been, haha!) that friend that we need to theoretically smack and tell to "wake up!" But the wait for Kenadie to catch up made the ending that much sweeter.

I loved Jason. So sweet, thoughtful, funny...and talk about a patient man! I loved how determined he was...and how he patiently waited for Kenadie, wooing her without her even knowing it. He was perfect for Kenadie. The perfect guy to get her over her past and ready to love.

And Zander...loved him!! He was a hoot and such a fun side character that I easily came to love. He's the best guy friend every girl wants. I can't wait to read his story!!

Ms. Peel is an author who writes books that when I start one of them, I know that I won't want to do much of anything other than read...I get sucked in and enjoy every minute! And she's an author whose books I love to re-read, which is a big deal for me! As always, the only disappointment is that I have no new books by her left to read. But I will (try to) patiently await her next book!! Looking forward to seeing more of all these characters in the future.

I loved the story of Kenadie and Jason but I did want to smack Kenadie upside the head a few times. Was she really that unaware? Kenadie was totally humiliated seven years earlier in front of everyone she knew at what was supposed to be her wedding, so she has completely immersed herself in her company (finding love matches for others) and doesn't date. Jason, a former college roommate of Kenadie's annoying best friend Alexander (aka Zander), moves to town and is completely smitten with Kenadie. He decides to tear down the wall she has built around her heart and even uses her company's service and dates other women to stay close to her.
Kenadie's family, especially her mama, loves Jason and can see they're perfect for each other. Will Kenadie ever come to her senses and realize Jason has broken down her protective wall and she has feelings for him, and that he cares for her too?
This was my first audio book and I had to get used to the narration. I think Nancy Peterson did a great job as the narrator and being from the south I didn't think her southern accent was over the top. I didn't care for the voice she used for Zander, but I got used to it. I really got into this book and listened to it while cooking, checking email and even in the shower, finishing it in less than 4 days. I received this audible book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Happy, happy me! Jennifer Peel is one of my fave's and reading her books just makes me happy! My thanks first to Jennifer, for allowing me to read and review for her. It's always my great pleasure for the happy factor as stated above. :)

I really felt that while reading this book I was getting to know real people. There was a good flow to the story and things were always moving forward. Kenadie is a bit thick headed and I often wanted to shake some sense into her, but she was endearing too and I was firmly in her corner, hoping for the light bulb to go on. Kenadie has a good circle of love surrounding her. Her best friend may need to be thunked over the head but he is the driving force in helping her loosen up and creep out of the protective shell she's been hiding in. (I'm excited to read his story- I hope it's coming up soon!)

Jason is so incredibly patient and creative. That man pursues Kenadie with finesse. Honestly, any man willing to go to such lengths should be awarded a medal. It was so easy to like Jason and rooting for him was a no brainer.

I loved the banter and the chemistry in this book. It fit perfectly in my love for clean romance. Honestly, this one was so much fun! Happy, happy me!

His Personal Relationship Manager is a great read. I truly loved this book.
Kenadie Marshall is a girl who has been beat up by love. She can't trust herself to give her heart away. Ironically she runs a matchmaking business. Her best friend and business partner Zander has been trying his best to help her find love again. Enter Jason the man who everyone in her life feels is her perfect match. Can she get past all of her insecurities and love someone?

Kenadie must find herself again before she has anything to give to someone else.

Love Jennifer Peels books. Her characters make you want to keep reading until you finish. You won't be sorry for the time you invest in her books.

I can't wait until her next project.

7 years ago Kenadie was publicly humiliated by the man she thought she loved and wanted to marry in front of all her friends and family. Seven years later she realizes that she is better off without him, but she no longer trusts herself where men are concerned. She has built up so many walls and barriers that even her best friend Zander can’t penetrate them. So he brings in reinforcements – his best friend Jason Hadley.

Jason knows when he first meets Kenadie that she is going to be hard to get to know, but he doesn’t expect to fall for her so quickly and easily. And with Zander’s help he develops a strategy to win Kenadie’s heart. Except it’s not a very good one, and he realizes too late in the game that he and Zander may have taken it too far.

It was fun getting to know Kenadie, Zander and Jason. It was fun watching Kenadie soften up as her feelings for Jason grew. What Jason lacked in courting savvy, he made up for with his great heart and his patience. As we got to know Zander and got to know and understand him better, I couldn’t help cheering for him to get his happily ever after, too! The “Nanettes” – her mother and her mother’s two best friends – were fun side characters! And it was fun getting to watch her older brother Rick overcome some of his own fears and concerns and start opening his heart to love, too.

Overall, another great one from Jennifer Peel! I can’t wait for the next one!

This was more of a 3.5 for me.
I loved the business aspect. It was a cute premise, and the people in the business were fun characters.
Zander and Kenadie's relationship, the way that Jason slowly works his way into Kenadie's heart, even while she is fighting to keep up her defenses was a fun read. I guess I was just hoping for more from them for the why for both Jason and Kenadie. I know why she was holding back, and a little of why she fell, but I wanted more somehow. Perhaps it was Kenadie's "talking" in her head that created the distance, she convinced herself quite a bit, and me that she really couldn't fall for him. Still wondered about Zander. I almost wondered if he was the real love interest. Loved the older ladies, they were fun secondary characters that made for a good 'setting' and background story, and added some 'real' to the story. The final episode made for a fun finish, and because I ended with my heart more in it at the end, rounded up. Their chemistry was real, and the final fall was fun.

It was okay...but I found myself trying not skim. The problem I had with the book was the heroine. She talked way too much to the reader, and not enough to everyone else. Plus she did everything she could to push the Hero away because of something that happened SEVEN YEARS ago. I can understand not wanting to get hurt, but after a few years it's time to try again. As for the Hero, he was really sweet, and I liked his character, but I felt like there was not enough chemistry between the hero and the heroine. There was more chemistry between the heroine and her best friend then the two of them. BUT...this is just my opinion. Don't let me stop you from buying or reading this book. Jennifer Peel is a great author. I just didn't care for the characters in this book.

I'm reading or rather listening to this because I really enjoyed The Girl in Seat 24B.

I'm on chapter 19 of 35 and it's still the same thing. Jason is lovely, Kenadee was hurt 7 years ago, her mother is nagging her, Zander is being mysterious.

It's too slow! Also she is supposed to be 30 and she puts up with her mother, sorry, her Momma, saying some real rubbish to her. She needs to stand up for herself, pull herself together and get a life. Hanging out with three old aged pensioners is nice, but it's not a life, particularly after 19 chapters.

Good point: I like the writing style, it's often funny, except the scenes with her mother which make me cringe.

What a fun story. Jennifer has a gift for humor. Her POV voice is spot on with a relatable character who you can't help but empathize with despite her hangups. Great southern charm and humor. This is the perfect read for fans of chick lit and rom-com. Enjoy some laughs.

4.50 stars - heavy pg13/mild r-lite? (I would say “tarnished” clean -- see below)

Oh, sweet southern boogers! I loved this secular, clean-ish (emphasis on the “ish”) story and laughed out loud almost every other page. I almost spit my tea out at one point. Kenadie wasn’t my favorite book heroine and could be a bit annoying and stubborn (clinging to her bitterness for waaay too long!). But her male best friend, Zander, was hysterical and so “inappropriate” -- their banter, born of longstanding friendship, was so much fun and who wouldn’t want such a lovable goober for a bff? (I love that she smacks the back of his head every time he says/does something improper!) Zander is a hot mess, but he’s also a very sweet and caring protector and encourager for his bff. The actual hero in this story, Jason, Zander’s former college roommate, is just an all-around great guy and a perfectly sweet match for Kenadie (with a seemingly endless amount of patience!). Zander made me laugh, but Jason was the swoony hero. (Zander gets his happily-ever-after in book #2!)

This is probably a 4 star book, but it made me laugh SO much and for that alone it gets bumped up to 5 stars. This is the first book I’ve read by Jennifer Peel and I love the way she writes and how she’s able to capture the real-life feel of things.

This is secular fiction. I don’t go into it expecting the characters to be walking the Christian walk. I would say IF … a reader can’t handle some quite suggestive innuendo/terms, close friends calling each other “butthead” and ‘doofus”, goofy yet off-color references to things like black bras and zebra-print panties, a bunch of senior-citizen old biddies who pinch butts and talk about “perky boobs” and the biology teacher’s infidelity, then … that reader should not read this book.

”Like a Southern gentleman, or at least a really good knock-off of one, he helped me into his chick magnet [sports car], and we were on our way.” <-- Love the knock-off part!!

” ‘…so be yourself. Or maybe a little more pleasant than normal.’ “ <-- Hah!

” ‘You know I love you more than my luggage, right?’ “ ~ ~ ~ “ ‘The set you bought from Neiman Marcus or the crap set you bought at the outlet mall??’ “ <-- Haha!!

”They all sounded like they lived these well-rounded lives. I hung out with biddies and ate ice cream.” <-- Friday nights for Kenadie meant water aerobics with the tushy-pinching, senior-citizen biddies and then on to the ice cream shoppe.

”Apparently, I owed it to my momma to have grandkids. I guess it was some type of payment due for her having raised me. … According to Cissy and Adelaide [senior-citizen old biddies], I was wasting a perfectly good uterus and non-lumpy body.”

”Bunsen burners don’t make for good mood lighting.”

” ‘I’m going to go wash my brain out.’ “

p.s. -- Zander, supposedly, had algae-colored eyes. Say what?!?!? Eww. Maybe something like moss-green would have been better?

I LOVE Jennifer Peel's books! She is really a master at writing beautiful love stories that you want to kind of burrow your way inside and live there forever! This book is no exception.

I love her characters, Kenadie is adorable. She's working hard to keep herself away from any and all dating for herself while providing a service that is amazing at helping others find the person they should marry. She and her best friend Zander are the best in the business. But while her professional life is amazing, her private life is boring at best. She spends every night at home exercising and Fridays she goes with her Momma's friends to the gym. Her Momma is of the opinion that it's time for Kenadie to settle down and give her grandkids and she's so vocal about it that it made me laugh out loud.

Jason is Zander's friend who all of a sudden is getting thrown into Kenadie's space all of the time. Zander talks Kenadie into using their firm's dating service and through some crazy happenstance Kenadie ends up being his personal relationship manager with no visible way out of it. Setting her up for going on a date or two with him without even knowing it. Jason is a super nice guy, I love the way that he's always a gentleman and trying to do nice things for Kenadie even when she's sending him mixed signals.

And did I mention that with each of Jennifer Peel's books I want to visit Georgia more and more. I love the way that she describes the state and the people.

The plot of this one is super cute! I love the way that Zander is trying to get Kenadie to go with Jason while seeming like he's not. This is a book that you won't want to put down! And then you'll want to read all of Jennifer Peel's books! You'd better get started.

This book, like all of Jennifer Peel's books, is clean plot-wise. There are a couple of mild swear words but that's pretty much it.

I was sent an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This story was awesome. I’ve read it twice now (once as a beta-reader, and once after it was published), and I LOVED it both times. The final version rocked the romance! Kenedie is a successful businesswoman who owns her own dating service—Binary Search. Yet, despite her professional success in helping others find love, she is vulnerable when it comes to affairs of her own heart and has built towering walls around it to protect herself.

Jennifer Peel did an excellent job of making me connect with the characters. Kenedie is a cute heroine. Her thought processes made me smile, and sometimes outright laugh. Her best friend, Zander, is a hoot. That man is crazy, and I’m super excited that a future book will cast him as the main character. Jason is the perfect hero. I loved him, and felt he was perfect for Kenedie…and so dang patient. Swoon!

I can’t praise this enough. All of Peel’s books have great characters and romantic plots that are dark fudge truffle sundaes to my heart. I always read her books with a smile on my face and grin like a fool after I finish them. His PRM lived up to all my expectations, and I highly recommend it if you love to read great, clean, swoonworthy romance.

This was such a fun read! I had a grin on my face almost the whole way through, and it elicited several chuckles from me as well. I have to say, one thing that bothered me was the fact that it had been seven years and Kenadie was still hung up on what had happened with her ex-fiance. It wasn't even that she just thought about it, but that it had total control over her life. In so many ways she stopped living! It was fun to see her work through things and to see Jason and Zander trying to help her along. I really liked these characters and look forward to seeing Zander's story play out!
Overall, a very enjoyable read and one that keeps the pages turning!

Swoon "sigh"

Another winner for Jennifer Peel

I completely devoured "His Personal Relationship Manager" from start to finish. Swoon, "sigh". Although I did want to knock the two main characters upside the head throughout most of the book. ;)lol, I still LOVED IT!!! Especially Kennidie! I loved her but she was so infuriating! Though I understand her putting up walls after her last disaster relationship,.... her "clulessness" where Jason was concerned was driving me batty! Seriously though, loved the book. Loved the characters. Loved the ending. Can't wait until book 2! Fun read!

Clean Romance, talk of drinking and drunkenness (not done by two main characters), mild kissing, very mild innuendo.

This was a interesting idea and got more and more interesting as I read. I thought Kenadie was a mess and Jason was too perfect and the love triangle weird and awkward. The characters stayed true to character and the book pulled me in by its honesty and and fun characters. There were things that bugged me pretty strongly the way the characters repeated conversations over and over. Dialog is important to me and this book was lacking. The book took a little too long to wrap up, but when it finally did it was great. The ending was great. This was a clean contemporary romance.

I loved this story by Jennifer Peel! Her writing style is so easy to read and fun that I literally don't want to pull away until I'm done! I loved the heroine and her stubbornness, the hero and his charm, and the friends and family of the heroine with all their matchmaking shenanigans. There's humor and heart in this story. I already want to read this story again, or at least the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book!
