Book Three of The Day Human Trilogy Book Six in The Night Human World
Devin thought his stay with the sidhe would be short. That soon changed when he found out that he loved Nessa, but love just might not be enough. She has other suitors, and Devin isn’t sure if he wants to go through that again. Too bad for him, suitors are the least of his problems. On the eve of Nessa’s coronation, Devin finds himself framed for using magic he doesn’t possess. With his sidhe powers he’s the only one who knows that the magic harming people around Nessa comes not from nature, but from the witches. Good thing Devin knows a witch or two himself, but will it be in time to save everything and get Nessa on the throne?

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 unicorns - I really liked it! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!
The cover is another work of art!
This is the 3rd book in the series. It is a YA series and the 2nd series in the Night Human World.
I always enjoy the books from this series. The sidhe are a tricky and complicated race of people. They are always throwing complications Devin’s way. This book is no exception. There is a lot going on and surprises throughout. This is a great YA series. If you have a student who loves paranormal and fantasy type books, then this world is for them.
I can’t wait to see where the next series in the Night Human world, and I hope to see Cassie again in this book as well as the rest of my favorite Night Human World characters.
I recommend this series and world to all the YA lovers of paranormal and fantasy worlds!
B. Kristin McMichael’s The Day Human Way was mesmerizing and full of action. I loved this story. The Day Human Way starts off where book two left off. Nessa is being courted by other Fae before her coronation. Devin is in love with Nessa but needs to follow Fae tradition. Meanwhile, someone is harming Fae by using witchcraft, trying to frame Devin in the process.
The plot was cleaver and well executed. The story had numerous twists and unexpected outcomes. This is one story that is next to impossible to put down. I love Devin. He is noble and does what is right. He defends the common Fae. I can’t get enough of him. B. Kristin McMichael is a wonderful writer. The story flows well, and the imagery is amazing. This story could not have been better executed.

I'm a big fan of B. Kristin McMichael and have devoured everything she's written so far. I have always made it known that I've been a BIG fan of Devin and to be sure, he is my all time favorite character McMichael has EVER written.
That being said, I really wanted Devin to have his most perfect ending. While I loved that it finally did, I had a lot of expectations for it (maybe too big of an expectation) and felt that the ending was a little rushed...I wanted it to be more romantic and stretched out, lol.
I can't fault it too much though because it's been a fantastic spinoff series. I loved the whole set up for Cassie's series and am eager to be able to read that as well.
I never saw the traitor coming, I definitely thought it would have been someone else...and Old Man Winters was a surprise also!
Good stuff as always...and I was ALWAYS have a soft spot for Devin <3

I’ve read this book, and trilogy multiple times since purchased seven years ago but have never gotten around to positing a review, so her goes. I really enjoyed this book, and thought it was a good ending to the series and also introduced Cassie Booth a young witch, who is also part Sidhe and the main character in the next Night Human World Series, the Skinwalkers Witchling Series. This book starts exactly from when the last book finished. Devin was in the grove about to ask Nessa to marry him but before he could ask they were interrupted by Liam Kay, an elite Sidhe from another village who asked Nessa to court him. Devin is shocked but is hurt when Nessa says yes. He walks away, even though she tells him that she can’t refuse as her father already approved their courtship, and to refuse will shame Liam’s whole family. Devin leaves and shuts down their bond in his hurt. He leaves the palace and goes into the commoner villages, and his friend old man winters offers him to stay at his house, he’s not got much but at least its a place to rest his head while he works out his next plan. Nessa tracks Devin down but Devin isn’t ready to talk to her yet so ignores her. He tells Turner and Ronan that he’ll keep them updated of his plans and for them to go back to the palace to protect Nessa. Turner makes sure Devin hears him that this isn’t like Arianna, it’s different as Arianna was never his to begin with but its obvious that Nessa loves him and is just following tradition. Ronan jokingly asks if Devin is going to stay in the outcast village, which Devin thinks is an awesome idea. Since Devin exiled two of the outcasts after they grew the plant that was outlawed and then used it as poison and k*lled a lot of the elite heirs, on Marianna Ferguson’s (the head of the family) orders. They had no choice to do it. Devin sent them and Fiona and her baby to Turner’s village. It’s a safe haven for all day and night humans but they all thing that exile is worse than death.
At Nessa’s coronation another two suitors come forward to court Nessa. Devin is angry and Nessa can feel it through their bond, he’s had enough and says he’s sorry and the three suitors collapse. When Devin goes to touch them it makes it worse, Devin tells Nessa that he can’t touch them because its a witch spell and set to make it worse for a day human to touch, so it was for him. Devin is going to get and get some help. Devin contacts Maria who he met four years prior as he spent awhile training with the witches and their night human counterparts the skin walkers. Maria is a powerful witch so she’ll be able to heal Nessa’s suitors. Maria shows up with her young and extremely powerful witch apprentice but completely clueless of the night human world. They both can feel the witch magic. Cassie and Maria heal the men and Cassie tells Devin that they can touch the men while healing them as the spell was set up to get worse if someone who loved Nessa touched the men so it’s safe. It’s a race against time to find the witch-Sidhe before anyone else gets hurt. I really enjoyed meeting Maria and Cassie and I’m looking forward to reading what happens in Cassie’s story and how she reacts when she finds out that she’s been lied to her whole life, and about the night human world. I don’t think it’s going to be pretty. I loved seeing all the good Devin did in the outcast village, especially creating houses using the powers he inherited from the old Sidhe king and setting up a kind of medical centre in the woods that runs on solar power so they can get medical attention without having to deal with the elite, since they wont do anything because they’re a bunch of petty entitled a*seholes. I also liked seeing Devin, with the help of Keaton his friend he made when he arrived in the outcast village discover more about what powers he has now. Wow, I really wasn’t expecting the twist of who the witch-Sidhe was and the reason why they were wanting Devin dead. I’m really really looking forward to reading more books from the Night Human World. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
Yay happy endings! Devin needed to chill so did the sidhe and just accept change they were dying because of their stupid archaic traditions. I mean traditions are good but not when they impede progress
Nice conclusion. I read the Skinwalkers' Witchling series books 1 & 2 before coming back to read these. Now I know what I was missing over there. This is a super fast read. Everytime Devin and Nessa think they have solved the problem of who is trying to kill who, someone else pops up killing or cursing people in a different way. Cassie from the previously mentioned series is in this book along with her Aunt to try to track down the bad guy. This book picks up right after the conclusion of book 2. I enjoyed the ending and I'm glad I read this series.
Like the other two books in this trilogy, this book had some interesting moments. Unfortunately, like its predecessors, it too was badly edited, with misspellings, missing and added words, and just plain poor grammar on pretty much every page. I found this very distracting and tiring to read. Please, Ms. McMichael, get an editor!
