Hunters are a lonely breed, and Conor’s no exception, until the day he meets Brenna. Even though she slinks in unannounced and kills the wight he was hunting down, the girl’s a mystery and he can’t get that blinding smile or those gorgeous curves off his mind. Since they’re both after the same caster who’s unleashing these monsters, he suggests teaming up, and despite her initial reluctance, the hungry way she scans him down promises something powerful.
However, her secrets have repercussions, and faster than Conor can lift his Glock, he’s drawn into the web of kidnappings and Unseelie mischief, all concealing the machinations of a darker foe—one that plans to bring Philly to ruin.
Katherine McIntyre is feisty with a big attitude despite their short stature. They write stories featuring snarky women, ragtag crews, and men with bad attitudes—high chance for a passionate speech thrown into the mix. As a genderqueer geek who’s always stepped to their own beat, they've made it their mission to write stories that represent the broad spectrum of people out there. Easily distracted by cats and sugar.
This story kept me enthralled. The writing is rich with character, and makes you lose sleep because you can't put it down. Yes, I said you CAN'T put it down! I look forward to reading more of Katherine's masterpieces. Xena Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & More

Born to be enemies but destined to be lovers!
Conor is a hunter who has vanquished creatures of all kinds. Raised to be ruthless, he is expected to kill enemy fae on sight. But when a chance encounter puts him in the company of a lovely half-fae, he feels more inclined to kiss her than kill her. And after learning of her need for assistance, Conor finds himself playing knight-in-shining-armor to the troubled Brenna.
Brenna knew that the hunter would discover her secret sooner or later but the risk was worth it in order to get help in recovering her stolen amulet. And after witnessing Conor's soft side in regards to an injured canine, she can't help but wonder if this hunter might be the exception to the rule.
Even though a hunter and half-fae can play nice with each other, doesn't mean that everyone will approve of the new partnering. Conor's family despises the blood that runs through Brenna's veins and they aren't the only things that are a danger to her. Banding with a resourceful witch, the pair take on the most vile creatures to threaten the city and all that live inside it.
I flew through this book in a single sitting so it definitely held my attention. The supernatural beasts and inhabitants of the city in the story were unique and interesting. The plot held some betrayal and trickery, along with quite a bit of action. At times, I did find the book to be wordy. Everything was described in full (and sometimes gory) detail. While I don't mind some telling, I also find myself skimming long paragraphs. But the dialogue and romance definitely furthered the plot along at a satisfying pace.
The leading lad and lady were great characters and well fleshed out. The trust happened quite quickly but the actual romance was slower to brew and when the inevitable bedroom action occurred, it was fireworks all around. I thoroughly rooted for this pairing and hoped to see their happy ending despite all of the obstacles in their way.
In closing... A good and solid start to the series. I am definitely curious to see how Liam redeems himself in the next installment! Four suns!
This is a fast paced and engaging urban fantasy romance which pairs Conor, a hunter of otherworldly abominations, with the mysterious Brenna. It is the second book that I have read by Katherine McIntyre, the other being the Steampunk romance Stolen Petals, and I hugely enjoyed it.
After his life is unexpectedly saved by Brennna, Conor joins her on her quest to rescue her stolen pendant from a common foe. He becomes spellbound by Brenna’s combination of bravery and vulnerability, sensing a kindred spirit and does all in his power to protect her when her life is threatened. Brenna, who is hiding a secret finds herself becoming more and more attracted to this hunter which could well prove dangerous. When faced with her worst fear, can Brenna stay alive long enough for Conor to rescue her? Also can they survive treachery and the threat posed by the Unseelie world seeping into the human realm?
The romance is overall a sweet one, containing a sizzling love-making scene and oodles of sexual tension! I particularly liked how their relationship grows and how the author showed us what the characters were thinking about each other through their actions, rather than words.
The fae world is hidden from normal human folk and I loved the imagery the author conjures up in her descriptions of the evil Unseelie, who lurk in the shadows and increasingly threaten the lives of others. I also enjoyed the vivid descriptions of the deadly and magical fae world which part of the book takes place in.
Another super read from this author, which I recommend to lovers of urban fantasy/paranormal romance. Please note, a copy of this book was given to me by the author for the purpose of a fair and honest review.
Conor Malone isn’t just another hunter of paranormals. Living in West Philadelphia defending innocents, he was raised to hate all things paranormal especially Fae. Until he meets Brenna, Brenna who is part Fae (which he does not know right away). Conor finds himself in a situation where Brenna winds up being at the right place at the right time. Immediately you get a sense of something between her and Connor, and her banter with him-too funny.
Conor was raised to be a true hunter: no feelings, no emotions deal with the Fae-destroy them. However Conor is truly different and you get that from the get go! He isn’t like his father, he cares he has emotions and honestly he is the most adorable hunter so far. Hunters are the best at searching for paranormals, their senses (smell especially) are designed to help them, hunt.
Now Brenna and Conor must find who is behind the kidnappings of the Fae and why they are doing this, the Unseelie are not easy to deal with neither are any of the others they come across. I loved this from beginning to end this story captured me. From the amazing witch you get to meet to the many different paranormals in this story absolutely LOVED. and as they search for the caster responsible for the attacks, their relationship changes and takes some turns Conor and Brenna didn’t expect.
As you take this journey through Philadelphia with Conor and Brenna, you will be captivated by the story line and your attention will not waiver. I honestly read this book within 24 hours. My apologies to the author as my review is WAY late. But I truly loved this story of …...friendships, love, letting go and finally accepting who are and not being afraid of owning it.
>This is a standalone paranormal romance that ends in an HEA. The paranormal realm in this story is hidden from most of the human race, except for those humans born to hunt the dangerous entities, or Unseelies. Conor is a human hunter. Conor’s father, also a hunter, is so prejudiced against the paranormal that he cannot see good or evil. Conor’s father just wants to kill all paranormal entities, even if said entities are half human.
>Brenna is a half human/ half fae who teams up with Conor to find a necklace that was stolen from her. Her necklace and the reason it was stolen is part of the plot and a deeper danger. There are a lot of strange creatures that normally are hard for me to visualize, as they came from the author’s imagination. This author has a gift for description and describes the creature’s looks and more importantly, their smell to really create a world that is surprisingly easy to imagine.
>The only issue I had with the story was whether the story was for young adults or adults only. There is a sex scene towards the end that could be taken out and the book would be just as good. That scene felt like it was thrown in the story to try and make the story more “grown up”. The sexual tension between Brenna and Conor was so much more romantic than the actual act. This story is appropriate for only adult audiences due to the detailed sex scene, but young adults are really missing out on a great story. I wish the story had stayed PG. I can imagine Brenna and Conor in future adventures.
>I am a reviewer for Paranormal Authors and Romance that Rocks. I am giving this book 4 fangs.
I really liked this book. I'm a PNR junkie so I know what I'm talking about.
Conor the Hunter was so engaging. Reminded me a bit of the Supernatural boys (Sam and Dean) and that is never bad. Brenna, a half-breed, was spunky and a good match for our Hunter.
There's a lot going on in this story. Zombies, witches, Seelie, slaugh/Unseelie, daddy issues, prejudice, secrets...but it all works. I never lost interest in the story. However, Brenna and Conor could have moved a little quicker with the sexy time, but that's just me. I'm an instant gratification girl. I can't wait to read the next book!
Conor Malone was a Hunter, responsible for tracking mythical beasts, most especially Fae. Unlike the rest of his family who hunted the Unseelie fae with no compassion or mercy, Conor had a big heart for dogs, a conscience, and a sense of fairness.
Brenna is a fiery, feisty half-fae female determined to hunt down and retrieve her property. Crossing paths with Conor, realizing that he is not like the other Hunters, that he is himself willing to work with others when it made sense, Brenna decides to accept his collaboration and learns to trust him. Conor is drawn into the mystery of kidnappings and Unseelie activities which hide an even darker evil. Will Conor and Brenna track down the source of who is unleashing the monsters? Can they defeat it?
This was a good story with well-defined characters and a fast-paced mystery story line that keeps the reader involved in what’s going on. Give it a try and enjoy how the couple works together to get the job done!
Conor has too much heart to ever be like his dad or his foster brother. So when dear old brother banishes Brenna to the Other world without the needed protection of her amulet, Conor will do anything to find her as he has some mighty strong feelings for her despite her being fae and the arch enemy of his hunter team. An excellent storyline and some great storytelling. I loved it!

It is going to be bigger than they think but she has secrets which could ruin everything. What is going to happen? Follow them to see

Imaginative, well written, and glued me to the pages! Vivid and magical, exciting and engaging, it pulled me right in. The sparks and the banter between Conor and Brenna were explosive, and I was transfixed by the mystery surrounding our characters that was an amazing start to a series I will devour!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!
This is a book that is incredibly descriptive and entertaining. The world building created a magic world with lots of action and an engaging plotline. Conor and Brenna have amazing chemistry to the point spark are flying.

This is a great urban fantasy romance with well developed likable characters and very descriptive narratives that brought you into the story. This story has a lot of danger, intrigue, and steamy romance to keep you engaged.
I would like to read more of this series.

Conor and Brenna were both great characters. A Hunter and a half fae. While Conor's family hunt the Unseelie, they have no compassion for any fae. Lots of action and a fantastic story made this impossible to put down. Some steam with great secondary characters. Loved it!!
A fantastic first in series. Action packed with interesting characters that I quickly became invested in. A suspenseful and romantic read for all fantasy fans. I look forward to Book 2
Hunting for Spring is a supernatural urban fantasy novel with a touch of mystery and romance thrown in for good measure. I was drawn into the story right from the start. There is a sense of authenticity to the setting of the novel; it is very easy to imagine modern-day Philadelphia in McIntyre’s story world: Since the novel is filled with multiple types of paranormal entities, it is an impressive feat. Like any good urban fantasy, the base of gritty reality mixes in a seamless way with the fantastic elements and creates a place that a reader might feel he/she could visit. Neighborhoods vary and one might encounter run-down, graffiti-filled buildings situated amongst splintered chunks of concrete and garbage and just a few blocks later find well-maintained buildings with brick facades and cafés that advertise their wares on easel chalkboards.
The tension between Connor and his father is established early in the narrative. The dynamics of the family made me think of Supernatural—particularly in the early seasons where Sam and Dean are searching for their Dad—and The X Files—when the stories had progressed beyond the “monster of the week” and focused on the relationship between Mulder and his family members. The mixture of love, hate, respect, and fear strike a genuine note; parents are flawed and, even with good intentions, may make decisions for their children that cause an equal amount of harm and benefit. Children might love their parents, but not like or approve of their actions.
McIntyre brings in many different types of supernatural creatures. However, the variety is important to the narrative. She has thought through the supernatural culture and the interaction of that culture with “normal” society to a great effect. The book would be enjoyable to read simply to explore the story world and the complexities the supernatural elements bring, but it does offer so much more. There is intrigue. There are secret societies and multiple mysteries to explore. There is the potential destruction of Philadelphia to thwart. And to top it off, there is a passionate love affair.
The novel features a romance between Connor and Brenna, and does contain sexually explicit scenes and adult language. The romance is not simply tacked on: it is a necessary part of the story and adds veracity to the characters’ actions. I do not want to reveal too much of the plot; suffice it to say that characters who are in love get involved in situations that they would normally avoid.
Hunting for Spring is a wonderful novel that I highly recommend. Katherine McIntyre creates a complex world with marvelous characters that are so vividly sketched you feel you might know them in real life. And really--who doesn’t secretly want to meet a fae?*
* It can’t just be me.

I once again found a new author. I have fallen in love with Ms. McIntyre’s world. She writes about a world within a world that is very easy to understand and follow. It was a world that I found very easy to lose myself in while having fun reading about new and old magical beings. I loved how she blended the magical beings we are used to in stories with some new ones that fit while adding a whole new dimension to the magical world. From the witches, the hunters, the mantacors, the faries and sprites to name a few to the new breed of Unseelie and wights, I couldn’t put this story down because I wanted to keep reading I didn’t want it to end.
Sparks fly literally for Conor and Brenna when they first meet and it doesn’t stop. This lonely hunter has a soft spot; not only for half-breeds but also dogs. From the moment they met things didn’t seem as if they had a chance to become a couple but despite what they were up against the sparks and passion was so hot they smoldered and you knew they were going to survive.
The characters whether they were major or minor were very likable and easy to relate to. I liked Conor because he was supposed to be this tough guy hunter yet he had a soft spot for those in need of help. Don’t get me wrong he was tough when he needed to be. Brenna was easy enough to like even with her rough, tough girl attitude. After all in the world Ms. McIntyre created you can’t be a softie. You have to have an edge. I would have liked to learn more of Jev. She seemed like a person I would want to hang out with. Conor’s father was even a bit likable with his gruff play it by the book attitude.
Ms. McIntyre wrote her scenes with such vivid descriptions that I was not only able to visualize what she was portraying but I also could smell the burning flesh, sense the danger all around, feel the pain… I think you get my drift. I could even see the mantacor shooting the poison from the end of his tail, the fire as Brenna expelled it to kill the enemy.
I simply enjoyed this book with the way Ms. McIntyre kept your interest with her well written characters and story line. I can’t wait to read more from this author. If you like something a little different with a natural blend of everyday magics with exciting and interesting new ones you might just want to try Ms. McIntyre’s world. So grab Hunting for Spring and settle in for an adventure into a new world of magic.
In West Philadelphia born and raised hunting sluagh and fae is where Conor spent most of his days.....Ok in all seriousness this was a good paranormal story.
Conor Malone was a mythical being hunter. Born and raised to wield knives and use iron against the fae was his only purpose in life. Raised by his father Patrick Malone who was rather rough and tumble and callous. He raised his son and his best friends son Liam with one purpose that all fae are evil no matter what they do. Conor seemed to be in touch with his emotions and thought he only had to take down those who are harming people and the city around them. While Liam and Patrick had a more personal vendetta.
One day Conor meets the beautiful Brenna. Her raven hair and snarky attitude draw him in. He also learns some secrets about Brenna that goes against all the family code. Someone is kidnapping residents and they come together to solve this mystery. They clash but learn there is a traitor in the mix and decisions must be made.
This book was a good paranormal story at its core. Lots of mythical beings and spells and chants. The author truly knows her lore and at times creeped me out.
The book also gave me some laughs and in the midst of all the madness there was a love story. Which brings me to my one issue with this book was the sex scene. It felt like it was disjointed. Things truly happened out of sequence and made me go back to make sure I read it right. It seemed like an afterthought. I personally felt it could have been left out. All in all this was a good book and I can't wait to see where this story goes.
Hunting for Spring is a fast paced, action packed, fantasy full of suspense and mystery. Conor is a hunter who hunts and puts an end to the uncontrolled paranormal creatures of the night. Someone has been creating flesh eating creatures and it is someone how connected to a beautiful fae and her missing item. Brenna is a tiny girl who needs help finding an item stolen from her. Conor assists until he learns what she is….fae. Fae and Hunters have been known to be foes, so he walks away from assisting her. But, he can’t stay away and they both have a common ground when it comes to finding the thief who is creating the wights (flesh eating creatures).
The relationship that develops between Conor and Brenna is a sweet one. Not only do they have to fight to be together because of preconceived notions, but they must also fight against the Unseelie who have been seeping into the human world. People have been disappearing and they have to find out what is going on before more go missing. This creates plenty of suspense and tension for the romance.
While I found the pairing of Conor and Brenna to be sweet, I had a difficult time concentrating and wanting to continue with the story. Each character was well developed (I particularly liked the tension between Conor and his father, Patrick), but something could not keep my attention. I can’t pinpoint exactly what the distraction was because the story is well written and the characters are well developed, but this story wasn’t for me.
I was provided a copy of Hunting for Spring in exchange for an honest review. This was a story line and a concept that I honestly found to be original, and for once, rather refreshing. No vampires here.
We have Conor who is a hunter; think Buffy in men’s clothes. He also has a bloodhounds’ nose he uses to track prey. I found that a bit amusing, him standing around sniffing objects to pick up scents. Here you go Conor, find the bad guy; good boy! You get the idea. While tracking a zombie type creature; he meets Brenna, who is also tracking the creature to find the caster that created it.
There’s an instant attraction between the two; but because of different lives they lead, and the fact that Conor terminates all supernatural kind, a bit of a kibosh is put on things. Alas, it would not be a PNR if there wasn’t some type of strife to get in the way.
The concept and the character development was spot on, but for some reason I had trouble staying engaged with the story. I found my mind wondering. I think this has more to do with me than the book; I’m just not finding PNR as captivating as I once have. With that said; I still think the refreshing concept, well developed characters, and extremely likable hero and heroine, warrant a rating of 3 boundless stars for Hunting for Spring, it was good....Sara
Enter a fascinating new paranormal world with hunters, fae, witches and so much more!
Conner is a hunter, but unlike others like him he is not cold and emotionless. He's also willing to accept help from others when needed.
Brenna is a spitfire determined to get back what was stolen from her even if it means working with the often feared hunter. But realizing he is different from the rest only makes it easier to accept his help and trust him.
While sparks fly between the two a mystery unfolds that will require them to race against time to figure out who's behind several disappearances before more people are lost.
Loyalties are tested. Time is running out. And what they once believed to be true will unfold into a new reality.
I enjoyed the story and the world created. The characters are well written so you feel like you've gotten into their heads and know them. The paranormal aspect was well thought out and explained making this a truly enjoyable read!
Hunters, Fae, and loads of magic and mayhem. Conor and Brenna should be enemies, but sometimes fate has other plans as these two find out between dangerous situations. Hunting for Spring is a can't catch your breath, action packed start to a new series, and Katherine McIntyre certainly knows her stuff when it comes to exciting storytelling. The story starts with danger and doesn't let up as the tension snowballs right up to an edge of your seat conclusion. This tale of romance, betrayal, and family loyalty is impossible to put down and has me left excited to see where this series will go next.
