Super confused right now, I'm certain that I already read this and reviewed it right after it was published. But I don't have any review here!

Really strange right now.

I read this mostly for the long part that was replaced in a previous book with Gregor. And honestly, I prefer this one. I know that the part is not popular but it makes more sense than what made it in the actual book. Plus, more drama is always welcomed.

Let me keep this short and sweet as I have a 100 things to do today. I was really looking forward to read this book. I love Bones and Cat. They are one of my all time top 5 favorite couples. This book however wasn't what I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong there were some cute stories in there. I loved the white wedding. But there were things in here that I hated. I hated that Cat and Noah were in engaged. I hate that they have sex.... many times. And I hate the part were Bones loses his memories of Cat and has sex with 12 women in a week. Ewww. I am so glad that wasn't in the real books because it would have really upset me. I think I would have still enjoyed the series even with those parts but it would have taken something away from Bones and Cat's relationship. I am glad the books came out the way they are. I did enjoy reading some stuff and seeing were Jeaniene Frost planned to take the books, but overall I am glad these things were cut from the real books.

As you can imagine, quite a few scenes get deleted from a seven book series. This was the case with Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series. Oh how I adore that series...and miss it! It's all done. No more to be written. Ever.
description

Yes, I had a bit of grieving time when I finished the final book but oh how happy I was to see Outtakes from the Grave. This companion novel is nothing but glorious deleted scenes! And just to clarify, these are never-before-published deleted scenes, unlike other repetitious bonus scene collections unnecessarily for sale out there (cough - Happily Ever After - cough). Sorry, still a little disgruntled about that one...

Anyway, I adored Outtakes from the Grave. Ms. Frost set up each scene by explaining to the reader where the scene originally was and why it was deleted. It was fascinating getting a glimpse into the editing process but nothing will ever beat the experience of nostalgically reliving this series just by simply reading some new scenes. To be clear, there's nothing in here that is series altering, but to me it felt like a nice reunion especially in light of how much I miss these characters. Oh yeah, more than a few scorching Cat and Bones sex scenes were apparently cut from the series but thankfully made there way here, so if you need an additional reason to seek out this book then there it is. You're welcome.

This would make no sense if you haven't read the series, but I really liked reading the author's thoughts about her own books. I love that she said she always writes her opening chapters too long and that they get cut every time. And, mostly, I was happy that she cut out the entire idea of Cat having been engaged to Noah and having sex with him the whole time. That would really have ruined things, and seemed against her character.

Overall, fun if you've read the books.

Great addition to the series! All the outtakes are prefaced by the author. Loved all the explanations of why they were left out of the books. This is why writers need to hang on to their edited parts instead of just erasing it. Someday all us fans will be salivating for just one more scene.

4 Satisfied Stars!!

It was fun getting a bit more of Cat & Bones!! But I must admit that if the alternate story line wasn't going the direction I wanted, I went on to the next chapter....and I skipped one all together because I didn't want to see the direction the story was leading to.

All in all it was a good read and if your a fan of the Night Huntress series, I think you'll enjoy it.

Nothing beats discovering an anthology, novella or deleted scene from one of your top Urban Fantasy series unless it’s finding all three-in-one AND doing so two years after you thought that you’d been forever limited to cameo appearances in spin-off worlds. It’s important to note that some of the chapters in OUTTAKES FROM THE GRAVE break the rules of the NIGHT HUNTRESS universe while as others might spoil a picture perfect ending, but if you’re a hardcore Cat & Bones fan this is a MUST!

This anthology has everything from original / alternate beginnings, middles, and endings of the seven published books as well as things that you’ve always wondered about such as what was in the note that Crawfield wrote to Crispin when she left him, and how their human wedding that never was would have unfolded. There’s also tons of little extras that were edited out due to pacing concerns such as sex scenes, and Jeaniene Frost’s authors’ notes precede each one which was a treat in and of itself.

Practically every character shows up at some point or another, although the focus was on Cat & Bones, so Ian worshipers don’t get your hopes up too much… This collection provided fab insights into the inner workings of the world, and of Frost’s publishing journey. It’s amazing how much goes on in the background, and how much gets edited out of the finished product. Other than a couple of excerpts to add context, this compilation was largely never-before-seen, and thus a great value for the price.

I listened to the NIGHT HUNTRESS WORLD novels, and some of the NIGHT PRINCE titles as well, but read this series in its entirety, so getting to revisit it via Tavia Gilbert’s narration was another huge plus. She’s such a savvy performer; her voices remain of the highest quality, and the level of emotion that she brought to each chapter had me constantly choking up. I wasn’t planning on restarting my Cat & Bones experience anytime soon, but after this audiobook, how could I not!?

OUTTAKES FROM THE GRAVE will make you fall in love with NIGHT HUNTRESS all over again!

5+ Outtake Stars

When I first read outtakes I thought ok this is going to be a short bit of what she had to cut, boy was I wrong and so freaking delighted all at the same time. I am going to label some I enjoyed by numbers these are not in the same order or even the right numbers as the book.

1. I love this outtake with the nurse and the needle, Cat and her clench on the guys balls. The narration of this part had me wincing and I don’t have balls!!

2. Wedding from hell outtakes is awesome omg I loved it! No one calls Cat Kitten but Bones or you learn the hard way. Epic

3. When Bones first sees Cats tattoo! I am so glad we got to see that scene!!

4. The White wedding, I get why it was cut and all but this made my heart so very happy.

5. The outtake where Bones make Cat promise she would always live even if he didn’t after he finds out what she was going to do she thought he had dies. Yeah that was a powerful scene.

6. I have to say I loved the new recruited and how fun and light heart'ed that part was very enjoyable.

7. And last but not least Bones having Cat stripped from his memory, I quiet liked this version better but I see why it was changed still glad we got to have all these extra’s and on that note..

A very special thank you to Jeaniene Frost. First for having the foresight to keep or send to friends these awesome scenes that were cut or changed. Second for sharing them with us. I loved Cat and Bones before but I love them ever more now and I didn’t think that was possible.

“If I die, I will wait for you, do you understand? No matter how long. I will watch from beyond to make sure you live every year you have to its fullest, and then we’ll have so much to talk about when I see you again…”

I will forever adore this series!
This was my first paranormal series, Bones my first book Husband, and Cat my first kick-ass Heroine.
I miss this world terribly.

It was a passionate, sexy read spiked with romantic and funny moments. I couldn't imagine a better Christmas present than getting to reunite with these characters! I missed Bones and Cat fiercely and though I tried to read as slow as possible, the book ended too soon. I could read about these characters forever!

Needless to say, this anthology of deleted and alternative scenes was pure perfection! I enjoyed all of them and didn't bother me at all that some of the scenes in the published version were different. I was just glad to read about these characters.

Jeaniene Frost has a remarkable talent, and she can write the most passionate characters without making them sound cheesy.
If you haven't read this series yet, you're really missing out.

I just love Jeaniene Frost's books very much.

I have missed Cat and Bones so much and loved being able to go back and revisit them!
This was a good book for some deleted scenes and different ending/beginnings.
The alternate middle to Destined For An Early Grave was especially good.

It has been a while since I have written a review due to so many obligations but after reading Outtakes From The Grave I just couldn't just leave it at a 5 star rating without giving a reason. Ever since the end of the Night Huntress series and knowing that we will not see anymore stories with Cat & Bones, I had a difficult time finding characters that pulled at my heartstrings like these two. Reading this book soothed the ache in my heart of missing them. Reading about Cat & Bones and their love and commitment for each other made me feel like I was reconnecting with old friends again. I took my time reading this book. Savouring each scene and re-reading it over and over again as it played out in my head so I could "hear" and "see" Cat & Bones again. Once I reached the end it was bittersweet because I loved reconnecting with these two, but at the same time knowing that their story will not be explored anymore for readers to enjoy seeing how their journey in their "undead" life continued brought an ache in my heart. I still have not found a couple in a series that has brought so much intensity to the pages and I don't think I ever will. Thank you Jeaniene for bringing Cat & Bones to life for us. I will miss "hearing" Bones and his sexy ways. :)

An ok read - I did a lot of of skimming. There were a few scenes that were fun, but those were the ones that really read as stand alones. It was too hard to get into some of the deleted scenes when they were so far removed from the book - if that makes any sense. It more interesting to read JF's reasons for why scenes were cut.

Aaaaaarggggg.... one wrong click and my review is gone! ..... *breath in*.... *breath out*.... OK, here it goes again!

I love outtakes/deleted or alternative scenes! Yes, I'm the one buying DVD's just for the extras! #DONTJUDGEME

And I love the Night Huntress series! Call me biased - I don't care!

The author notes on the beginning of every chapter gave me a good insight of the how and what and why the scenes were deleted or changed in the published versions and I can see that it was the right decision to make. Though I enjoyed the original versions immensly!

I've learned that Mrs. Frost's books would be much longer if she wouldn't cut something out which would make the stories dragging and not as fast-paced as we (read = I) love them. And that she writes much more sexy times than published. (Call me a perv, but I wouldn't mind reading more of those!)

We get a lot of fun times, Bones's POV, Cat meets Denise the first time and much more!

I'm quiet happy the wedding didn't make it into the book. Even if it was funny as hell, it wouldn't have fitted!

Favorite quote:
"If I die, I will wait for you, do you understand? No matter how long. I will watch from beyond to make sure you live every year you have to its fullest, and then we'll have so much to talk about when I see you again..."

After all I can only say: Thank you, Mrs. Frost for this wonderful addition to one of my all-time-favorite series!

As with all Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress books, I completely loved this book. Everything I read was amazing and made me love the characters even more. I finally got to read the Wedding scene, a scene from Bone's POV after Cat and him have sex for the first time, a scene from how Cat and Denise became best friends, and much much more.

I love Cat and Bones, I always will. My mom and I are intense Cat and Bones fans and even have songs dedicated to Bones and his love for Cat. This series is just an overall great time. From laughter and tears to giddiness and butterflies, anger and hatred to kickass and engaging. This series has it all. Cat and Bones, Denise and Spade, Mencheres and Kira, & Vlad and Leila will always be my favorite OTP's.

I'm so blown away with the anthology. The Outtakes definitely enhanced the final published versions of the first four books. This is a "must-read" and "must-buy" for all who love Cat and Bones. You don't need to take my word for it :) Just buy it now and see for yourselves!

Cat'in karakterine ters düşecek olaylar bunlar bir kere. Asla kabul edemem.

Vee düğün sahnesi...

Keşke kesilmeseydi :(

A great glimpse into what could have been. And while I greatly enjoyed the deleted/alternate versions, the real prize were Ms. Frost's comments.

And it seems she got to recycle one of her ideas with Ian's book ;)

This is a great collection of cut scenes and extended scenes from the Night Huntress series. It was interesting to read the history behind this series. I recall from earlier that Jeaniene had seen Cat and Bones in a dream but I didn't realize that she just wrote their stories and had no intention of publishing them until her husband said something to her about shopping her stories out to publishers. I am so glad he did. I would hug him if I could, for that. :) Cat and Bones are two of my favorite paranormal couples. I could read about them for hours and never get bored. In fact, reading these outtakes makes me want to re-read the entire series, especially the first two books.

There were some surprises in what Jeaniene changed and took out of her books. There is one thing that, upon recommendation from the publisher, that Jeaniene took out of One Foot in the Grave and I am ever so grateful to her for doing it! I would not have been a happy reader (though I would have gotten past it).

In Destined for an Early Grave she made a huge plot change and I'm glad that she did, and I did like the alternate storyline she wrote, although, it made me feel so bad for Cat.

Regardless, this was a really interesting book to read and I recommend it for any Cat and Bones fan. You can even skip over parts you don't want to read. I certainly Jeaniene writes a little blurb at the beginning of each chapter describing what is coming next. We even get a scene from Bones's POV.

She shifted, whispered his name, and then started to snore. The loud sounds made him grin. Millions of women in the world, and he'd fallen in love with a half-breed who snored. The Almighty had turned out to have a grand sense of humor.

Because you're not getting away from me,he thought, smoothing her hair back from her face.I promise you that, Kitten...and I promise myself.

Bones describing to Cat how he looked for her and came so close to finding her many times.
"Do you know how many times I arrived only hours after you'd left? I could still smell your scent in the air, almost as clearly as I can now."

Cat finally admitting to Bones that she still loved him.
"Everything I said to you before was shit. I still love you. I couldn't stop, no matter how hard I tried! Oh God, Bones, I've been so lost without you..." I couldn't speak anymore. I tried to fight the tears, but they came anyway, and a sob choked off my words.

"It's all right, Kitten," Bones said softly. "You're not lost any longer. I found you, and I love all of you. I love the narrow-minded teenager who tried to kill me when we first met because she thought the world had two categories: human and evil. I love the budding fighter who made a deal with a vampire to protect her family, and I love the sensual young woman who hid underneath. I love the lying bitch who left me because she thought she was protecting me. I love the hardened warrior you've become. I love you whether you're Cristine, Cat, Cathy, Kitten or even Catherine, and I will love you whoever you become in the future too.

We learn what Cat wrote in that note to Bones when she left him.
Don't come after me because I'm already gone. I've taken Hennessey's body and told them it's yours, so they think you're dead. We could never be safe together, and I won't kill you or my mother trying. Every word I ever told you about how much I loved you was the absolute truth. You are my life, Bones, and now consider me dead because I am. I will always love you, right down to my final breath. Your name will be my last word, I promise you. sobs

This is a great read! For all Cat and Bones lovers! :)

The Night Huntress series from Jeaniene Frost was one of two paranormal romance series that helped reboot my fiction reading after many years of being away from it, so this series will always have a place in my heart. Having read many of the deleted scenes from the old Frost fans website, I wondered how much additional content would be in this selection of outtakes. (Seriously, I'd take more of these characters any day of the week.)

It was great to spend some time again with Cat and Bones and I really truly enjoyed this book. I ended up going cover to cover in one day with it, because it was a very pleasant reading experience and I just couldn't put it down.

Each outtake starts out with a few pages from Jeaniene Frost where she sets up the scene and explains why it was cut from the published version. These pages were golden in my humble opinion. Ms. Frost gives the reader an insider's view of the writing process with these outtakes, and that is the gift of this book.

The outtake scenes are sometimes funny and also show a version of Cat that is slightly different from the published version. Fans of the series will be able to tell just how Cat changed from her early versions and that was a lot of fun too. And where would Cat be without Bones? Yes, he's in many of these outtakes, in all his alpha Cat-loving glory and I'll bet you get the urge to reread this series when you read these outtakes.

Overall, this is a very nice engaging and enjoyable read and I highly recommend it for fans of the series. Not only do you get more lovely Cat and Bones, you get a great view into the writing process. Thanks Jeaniene Frost, for this gift to your fans. Rated 5 stars for the enjoyment factor.

And if you haven't read this series, start at the beginning and finish with this one, you won't be sorry. It's a must-read if you like paranormal romance.

I am a big fan of the Night Huntress series, so I LOVED this book! It gave me a different perspective on Bones and Cat's relationship, which was awesome. The wedding chapter was amazingly sweet and it was something I wasn't expecting. There is also a chapter on Cat being her melodramatic self in a salon that had me giggling.

If I go on any longer this review will be made up of incomplete sentences of me rambling on and on about how amazing, awesome and fabulous this book was. It was the cherry on top to complete the series.

My Favorite Quotes:

"You pay for your pleasure with pain, my mother had always said. A grim and often truthful motto."

"[After someone is down you kick them.] 'They're not supposed to be alright, are they? No, that's why it's called a fight and not a chat.[...]'"

Although I enjoyed meeting up with Cat and Bones again I much preferred the published versions of their and their friends books. One of the edited outtakes I wouldn't have liked to have read in the book at all, and it sadly would have spoilt the romance between the main characters for me, was when Bones had his memory of Cat removed. So well done to the people in charge of editing for being so wise in their guidance and well done to Ms Frost for taking their advice. What did come about, because of this, was an unforgettable romance, in which well loved characters all intertwined in fascinating, entertaining and action packed novels. I was also reminded of Vlad's part in the books and it gave me a warm feeling about his own story. A lot of it wouldn't have worked if it had actually gone to print and might not have become the epic love story we all loved to read about, so it makes one appreciate the people in the background who definitely know what they're talking about. Thank you to all concerned.

Oh my god! I loved the fact that Jeaniene Frost gave some personal notes regarding the scenes that were taken out of the books. There are so many of them that I truly wish had been left in though. I won't detail them in case anyone wants to read this book. I liked the variations that were put through to publishing. Like I said though, so many of these scenes could have easily been put in. I totally agree with the one that Jeaniene said she should have left in. SO unless you've read all the Night Huntress novels up to this point do not pick up this book!!!!
