What with thwarting a blackmailer intent on sabotaging their beloved community and navigating their increasingly complicated romantic lives, Chloe LaRue and EV Torrence already have their hands full—but mischief is afoot.
Or maybe mischief is a Bigfoot.
With items mysteriously disappearing in the night, the sleepy town no longer seems the safe haven it once was. And things only get worse when one of the residents posts a photo of a shadowy figure on the Internet and the story goes viral.
Now, a merry band of Sasquatch hunters is wreaking havoc in the weird and wonderful Ponderosa Pines.
While conspiracy theories multiply and tensions simmer, Chloe and EV start to suspect the cryptid craze is more than a distraction—it’s a smokescreen. One that might be hiding the blackmailer’s next move.
Between chasing down clues, avoiding camo-clad vigilantes, and trying not to overanalyze their increasingly messy love lives, Chloe and EV are determined to uncover the truth.
Because someone’s making trouble on purpose—and if they don’t stop it soon, the town’s quirky charm might be the next thing to vanish.

I live in Maine with my husband, a silly flufferpup named Dash, and a crazy cat named Cricket. I write full time and also create mixed media artwork when I get the chance.
When I was three, my mom brought home a new book and when she went to read it to me, I read it to her instead. That was when she realized I'd learned to read. Since then I couldn't even estimate the number of books I've read. It's a lot!

Well, I am sort of torn on this one-- I did not hate it, but did not love it. So the jury is still out. Maybe it was the genre, I don't know... this was my first Cozy Mystery, so I will have to read more to compare. The characters seemed a bit flat, or 2 dimensional to me, if you know what I mean. But maybe others would not see it this way-- I don't know, lol. : /
Good to the last word. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book. It is very different from what I usually read and I found the first book in the series difficult to rate. This is the on-going story of a small town with interesting characters, dramatic relationships and mysteries. This one doesn't have a murder. It has a sasquatch and sasquatch hunters. Interestingly, sasquatches and hunters isn't what this book is about. It really is about the people of a small town, their history and their relationships. It has humour, adventure and romance. I enjoyed it very much and will be reading more in this series.
This was excellent. This is definitely a series book as there is a continuing theme that runs thru these regarding a blackmail attempt from book one that they still have not solved (found the blackmailer) and gotten to the bottom of his issue. But... this book is all about things turning up missing and the possibility that a Yeti/Susquatch/Bigfoot is behind all of it. And the chaos that the ensuing 'squatch-watchers' bring with them when they invade Ponderosa Pines. You also have some pretty hot and heavy romance going on for both EV and Chloe, so there is a lot to enjoy in this one. Can't wait for the next one in this series to come out!
A little bit of mystery, a little bit of love finding its way, and lots of sharp-witted conversation. The book is nicely written with witty main characters you like, nice plotting, and well described scenery. Pondarosa Pines sounds like a place I'd like to live. Feisty women EV Torrence and Chloe LaRue are best friends living in Pondarosa Pines, a town that started a couple of generations ago as a commune of ecologically minded people. Lawman Nate is the one Chloe's in love with, but she's convinced he'll return to his big city cop job when his shoulder is healed; they keep giving each other mixed signals. Dalton is his deputy and the man who has been trying to convince EV to take a chance on him. In this book, the town is being mystified by set aside items going missing, a Bigfoot sighting (drawing Sasq-Watchers), and the continuing mystery of who exactly is trying to ruin Pondarosa Pines. Funny, witty, thoroughly enjoyable.
This wasn't the worst cozy I have read but it could be better. Editing was decent. There were a few typos but not enough to distract me. The plot was all right. I might have given 4 stars but the characters drove me a little bonkers. Chloe and Nate are in love but can't seem to tell each other. Same with EV and Dalton. They're all supposed to be older but act more like teenagers. I didn't read the first book in the series but I was able to get the gist of what happened. There is an underlying plot involving blackmail that started in the first book and continues on in at least the third book. The basic mystery is solved in this book, though. I just wasn't grabbed by the characters and you don't learn enough about the rest of the small town to care. I don't think I will continue with this series. There are a lot more cozies out there that for me are more enjoyable. The adults act like adults. 😉
Overall I enjoyed the book. The town the story is set in is very idyllic, and sounds wonderful. The writing was ok. The mystery was not a murder, and resolved itself nicely. There are still unfinished plotlines.
For two adult women, one in her fifties, I found the romance part a bit juvenile. First they're trying to trick each other to recognize 'the love of their lives'. Then, they're petulant when these men don't know what thoughts are running through their minds. The men were no better. I also found the switching POV to be a bit confusing at times.
I would read another book in the series. I received this one for free. There are a couple small grammatical errors
This is the second or third book in this series, I have not read the earlier books. EV and Chloe have been involved in a Ponderosa Pines mtstery. Before life can return to order, another mystery developes. While I enjoyed the story, reviewers definition of cozy mystery and mine are quite different. I don't enjoy the use of some words that now seem to be common and don't want to read sex scenes. While the sex was referred to but not laid out, the innuendo was a bit much for me. I won't be reading any more by this author...too back because the characters were very entertaining.
Another enjoyable story coming from Ponderosa Pines. In third book there is. no murder but the absence of murder does not make the mystery any less intriguing. The story follows the story in Book 1but it does not complete it, a new mystery stands between. This was a bit disappointing but fortunately the antics of Chloe and EV in complicating their love life and channeling local gossip were enough to maintain the momentum, making you want to turn the page. An enjoyable read.
nate loved Chloe but Chloe thought Mate was dating another woman. Hate thought Chloe wasn't interested. Dalton loved Ev but they were always arguing. He was sure she still carried a torch for her ex. Meanwhile someone was sterling things from everyone in town and Sasquatch had been seen and pictures put on facebbok. Romance and sometimes funny situations with a little mystery thrown in. I enjoyed it.
This is the second in the series. The main characters are EV and Chloe, whose parents help settle Ponderosa Pines. They are trying find out who is trying to destroy the town and EV's ex is looking likes he is behind it all. They are working with the town cops, Nate and Dalton, and at the same time they are trying to straighten out their love lives. They end up dealing with some crazy stuff along the way. I love this series and can't wait to see what happens next.
Cute mystery with some romance mixed in, add a wicked sense of humor, and a bunch of interesting characters and this book is what you get.
I liked the story, the characters, and the locations. Just the right amount of humor and romance too. The one thing this story needs is to have a good proofreader go over it to fix all the typos and incomplete words, and other grammar errors. It would have been a five star rating of those errors had not intruded.
My second read & review from author Erin Lynn. I discovered Erin when I reviewed an H.Y. Hanna book, and a recommendation said I might enjoy her writing. I went out & discovered that I already owned several of her books & thought I'd give one a try. I really enjoyed it. Well written with a great setting and enjoyable characters, now I need to read the rest of the series. Next up Caught in the Frame (A Ponderosa Pines Cozy Mystery Book 3). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Just as things begin to quiet down for Ponderosa Pines, residents find things missing from their residence and businesses. After Sabra gets a good picture of the culprit, it appears to be a BigFoot, which brings the BF hunters into town. On top of proving there is no BF, Nate and Dalton discover that EVs ex-fiance is behind the towns troubles.
I chose my rating because this is a well written book with a great story line, believable characters and it doesn't drag. When it was over it made me wanting more because I felt I was part of their group of friends. The whole town sounded like someplace I'd like to live in.
Two strong, funny women and two hot men have been friends for many years.. All intelligent people, except in matters of the heart! Between the misunderstandings between them, mysterious thefts and a case of blackmail keep them busy. Full of action, with a great plot and characters, loved it! I received a complimentary copy and freely give my honest review.
The people of the little berg of Ponderosa Pines are a real community. No locked doors. No crime. And an old world feel to it. When a local Facebook user posts a pic from the local woods, sharing tips off the Sasquach Hunters. A wonderful read, I enjoyed the ending way too much!
While it was an enjoyable read, the frustrated romance story arcs wore pretty thin. And one thing that was jarring and really ruined this for me was that Sasquatch is a Pacific Northwest tale but one character is lost in the Appalachian Trail which is in the eastern US. Not sure I will read anything else by this author.
These are such fun books to read! Great characters and mysterious goings on in this small town make it fun! Tension and laughs also contribute. Do yourself a favor and read this book!
I stopped reading at 40%. I just is not care for the story or the characters and I just could not spend any more of my read time on something I was forcing myself to finish.
A cute, light, romantic mystery. The plot line concerns 2 age groups--a 50 something age romance and a 30 something age romance. Throw in a Yeti sighting, Yettie hunting group invading the town calls for some laugh-out-loud situations and a good read.
Easy to read and follow characters and the story. Was interesting from the beginning to the end. Mixed signals with some couples which is common in a lot of relationships
Truthfully, I was expecting more crafting than just a knitting club. Liked the mature hippie town concepts, but the will they won't they flirting was more romance novel than mystery story. Cute story, fast read.
This book is lengthy but full of nothing. It is rediculuous. I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they were a beginner reader. Practice in reading is it's only asset.
The girls are at it again. From falling in love to solving crimes. Lots of fun action and laughs as they go. Sometimes a little confusing, but clears itself in short order. Enjoyable and fun reading.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It took a couple of chapters to get into the story after that , it was very interesting and with a surprise ending . I'm looking forward to reading more books written by these authors.
The storyline in this book had a good foundation. With that being said, it was a tad too slow moving for me. This is not to say I wouldn't read another of ReGina Welling's books.
I think Ponderosa Pines is growing on me. This story was more romance than mystery, and there was no murder to solve, just a yeti that appears in the village and steals odd things.
