Into the Fire has a very unique premise, and that's what first drew me towards wanting to read it. But sadly the unique storyline wasn't enough to keep me interested in this book.
Early into the book I was already having issues with the Hero and it was making it difficult for me to want to continue reading about him. Ash's character was very arrogant, which some people may really like, but for me it made him seem like an asshole and not someone that I would like to read about. I continued on reading with the hopes that his character would get better and somehow redeem himself for his previous behavior, but sadly that didn't happen. The bottom line is that his character was too immature and arrogant, and in all honesty he reminded me of those assholes that a heroine dates before she meets her Hero and realizes what a real man is like.
The main thing that kept me from liking this book was Ash, but I also couldn't connect with the writing. Some of the dialogue seemed a bit awkward, so it was hard to get into the story when I didn't feel a connection with it.
Overall, not the book for me but a story that I think many will enjoy. If you like a confidant Hero who isn't afraid to go after the girl he wants, then this story may be for you.

Ash is ready to strike out on his own and open his own business; but to do that he needs the money he loaned his parents. Unfortunately, now that they're back on their feet, they're refusing to repay the money unless Ash "turns his life around." Which basically means conforming to their way of life. Ash is incensed but sees no way around it. The easiest to achieve seems to be the "finding a nice girl" part. So Ash hires an escort to pose as his girlfriend. Several dates for the benefit of his parents should do the trick. He didn't count on Alessandra.
Alessandra provides a service to those who, for one reason or another, need a date or the appearance of a girlfriend. She's strictly business and enjoys what she does. She's surprised by Ash since he's nothing like her typical client. Dinner dates with his parents quickly morph into hanging out together and a mutual attraction they can't help but act on. Ash has always been up-front about not being interested in relationships but that suits Alessandra just fine. This is just a fling... until suddenly it isn't.
There are cocky, arrogant guys - and then there's Ash. He often crossed the line between cocky and totally obnoxious (and had a less-than-charming pet name for Alessandra that made me want to hurl each time he used it). Even so, he was usually likable. It's hard not to appreciate a guy who is completely unapologetic for who and what he is. Alessandra, too, was likable and it was easy to sympathize with her reluctance to get involved again after her break-up with her jerk of a boyfriend. It was fun to see both characters, especially Ash, refuse to accept what was happening between them. His obvious care and concern for Alessandra was quite a contrast from his rough exterior and love 'em and leave 'em past. Despite their relationship moving at lightning speed, it was apparent these two had met their match in one another - if only they would admit it to themselves and each other.
Into the Fire is a fun, entertaining, sexy read. Recommended for those looking for a quick read that's low on angst and heavy on the sexy times.

Ash’s parents don’t approve of his life. He did three tours in Afghanistan but still it seems the only things they seem to care about is his very short stint in jail and his life’d dream to open his own tattoo shop. He loaned them a large amount of money but now they’re refusing to pay it back until he makes some changes. Hey seem convince that the love of a good woman could make him change. That’s where Allesandra comes in, she works as an escort and Ash hires her to pretend to be his good girl girlfriend. There’s an instant attraction and what was once a professional relationship, turns into something more.
But both of them are in denial about their feelings. Ash isn’t Alessandra’s type and he is definitely not look for a real relationship. So what’s going to happen when the arrangement is over?
Ash was a total man-child driven only by what felt good. He’s stubborn and lives on his own terms. He doesn’t take anything too seriously and he’s completely cock-sure and full of himself. He’s pretty and he knows it, he also has no problem telling you that either. He goes through women like most people go through underwear. But, he is also completely open and honest and I loved that about him. It was wonderful seeing this bad boy being brought to his knees and his irritation at himself and all the new and confusing feelings he had towards Allessandra was totally endearing.
Alessandra has been burned in the past and she has a professional standard to uphold so she is very cautious when it comes to Ash and his incessant flirting. He chemistry between them absolutely sizzled and from one hot hook-up to the next Ash became ever sweeter and his obliviousness to how hard he was falling for her was rather funny and very entertaining to watch unfold.
Even though I really could have done without all the sex without a condom this was book was hot as fuck, sweet and very enjoyable. If you love a sweet bad boy and a heroine who gives as good as she gets, I definitely recommend this.

The Review:
Into the Fire is a fun, heartfelt romance filled with naughty and clever banter, sexy character interactions and a hero you can’t help but fall in love with. Told in alternating POV’s, you’ll get hooked the moment you open this one!
Ash is as cocky as they come. He’s completely full of himself and totally oblivious of his own inner self. But it works for him. He doesn’t take life too seriously even though he’s been through some tough times. He likes living on his own terms and he makes no excuses for it. He’s honest to a fault and he’s loyal to his friends and family. He’s also kind of a manwhore. After loaning his parent his life saving so his father's business didn’t crumble, he’s desperate years later for the loan to be repaid so he can pursue his own dreams. However, his parents think he’s wasting his life and decide not to pay the money back until he changes his irresponsible ways to suit them, including settling down.
Ash is definitely against settling down, so this is where Alessandra and her company, Gorgeous Entourage, comes in. Alessandra is a wonderful heroine. She’s straightforward, sincere, funny, intelligent, beautiful and sweet. She’s also a platonic escort who Ash hires to play his girlfriend. Right from the start, Ash rubs Alessandra the wrong way which causes a little bit of friction but also a very well written, tension filled, slow build to romance. Alessandra isn’t looking for a real relationship and is perfectly fine playing the girlfriend, helping those who need someone as a showpiece only. She has strict rules for her own protection, but Ash breaks through her barriers and her rules.
These two were great together and their salacious chemistry was super hot!
There were a lot of lively and entertaining scenes in this book as well as a few emotional and angsty ones. The author did an amazing job bringing the characters to life with their amazing bedroom play but also with their everyday life and their “getting to know you” moments. Though there was an instant attraction, there wasn’t an insta-love and I enjoyed watching these two friends, who were so opposed to finding love, come together and finding a real, true, solid foundation to build their romance on. Both Ash and Alessandra were likable and I connected with them instantly.
And that ending? Perfection!!
But... I will say there were some scenes that felt overdone and drawn out. There was two or three times I felt the story got bogged down with dialogue and character resistance. And on occasion, Ash’s actions were immature and I don’t mean because he was learning to grow as a character but rather the author wrote him in a way that made him seem much younger than thirty... at least to me.
However, those rare occasions didn’t take away from the story as a whole. This was the first book I’ve read by this author and I can say that I am definitely a fan. She did a great job pulling me into Ash and Alessandra’s world and by the third chapter, I was already rooting for them and their happy ending. I’m certainly looking forward to reading her other books!

I loved this book! I wasn't sure I was going to at first. In the beginning Ash seemed very immature but as I continued to read, I understood that was on purpose. The author needed to make Ash seem superficial on the surface and the more you read the more you come to love him, which is exactly what happens to Alessandra. The author did such a good job of peeling back the layers of Ash's character. Honestly, the more I read the book the more it hooked me. I read this in one day...stayed up late just to finish it. This was my first book of EL Todd and now I'm going to go back and read the Beautiful Entourage books.

4 - 4.5 Cream Queen Stars
I really enjoyed this book. It felt a little familiar and then I realized it was a spinoff of the Beautiful Entourage series.
I loved Ash, because even though he was overconfident and cocky, he was unapologetic about who he was and what he wanted out of life. That is until he met Alessandra, who turned all his preconceived notions of relationships on its head. Alessandra didn't judge him and seemed to understand the dilemma he was in. He loved his parents, but they were holding his lifestyle over his head and denying him the future he wanted for himself.
Alessandra took on being his fake girlfriend to appease his parents, until their feelings and actions started to become a bit too real. Will miscommunications, stubbornness and hard feelings cause these two to deny the feelings they really feel for each other and maybe screw up the possibility of being with their soulmate?
I found Ash hilarious and Alessandra very forgiving of his personality. She seemed to be able to take him at face value and go with the flow.
If I liked this so much, then why not full 5 stars? Well... I wanted more of Alessandra's background. Why she seemed to be alone in the world with very few close friends?

I have received a free e-copy for an honest review.
While I was reading the summary for this book on Love ALL BOOKS group on Facebook, I thought that it sounded really good. The characters were different, and I just thought that this would be such a fun read. And I was not disappointed at all. I started this book on 01/17/2016 and I was done with it the following day. I was not able to put it down, and I was so invested in the characters of Ash and Alessandra. There was so much raw emotion and there was just so much going on - it was hard not to fall in love with their relationship, and what they were doing. It was not your basic, boy meets girl - girl falls in love... they live happily ever after. There was so much more to the plot, such as Ash was a war veteran, he did three tours in Afghanistan, and he was still fishing for his parents approval - without even knowing it. But more importantly his money that he had loaned them, several years back. Alessandra was a beautiful girl who happened to be an escort for Beautiful Entourage, which just helped clients when they needed a date or wanted to make an ex-girlfriend jealous. They were not prostitutes, by any means. Anyways - I just loved how it was so different from what I've read before, and it kept me so intrigued, I just couldn't put my phone down, I had to keep reading.
Ash - how do I explain the devilish good looking man with an ego problem? Ash is actually quite charming, at first I didn't like him too much, he was cocky and awfully arrogant, for such a character, but as I watched the layers unfold of him while he was with Alessandra - as well as get into his head, and know how much he was confused, and his feelings, I started to really love Ash. He is actually a great man, and there was nothing wrong with him, for his parents to want him to change so much. Yes - he was rough around the edges, but that was part of his charm.
Alessandra, I actually genuinely enjoyed her, I was surprised that she wasn't one of those "Oh no, I can do the sex buddy thing" and then not be able to hold up to the bargain. She did for the most part, a huge part of me knows that she was going to realize it first, but as I read the book, you realize that Ash was doing more than she was... It was so amazing to know that for once an author made the boy fall in love with the girl first. She was strong, and independent and she was able to stand her ground no matter the circumstance. I love that - most women in novels are so willing to just bend over backwards and just give in because their male says so... but that's not the case when it comes to Alessandra. She is not easily giving, and that is one of the biggest things I love about her!
Alessandra and Ash's friends... although they aren't huge in the storyline - I just have to say that I love that Sawyer and Shelley are two totally different types of friends. Although Shelley is very supportive you can tell that she only wants the best for Alessandra, and is more than happy to help when she can. But isn't going to push her too far or too hard. While Sawyer is actually kind of a dick. When your friend asks you stop setting him up on dates, you stop setting him up... but no for Sawyer that just means, "until next time" and that is slightly annoying that he is so non-confident in himself that he as to tag his best friend along to try and get laid. Personally, I feel as though he is incompetent in trying to get his own date, without having a wing-man. Which is totally my own personally opinion.
Then there was the time after they got together, I wasn't huge on Ash trying to be controlling. I was little turned off by it, and thought that it was out of nowhere, but as I continued reading, I learned a lot more about where he was coming from for making his demands. And not just from his point of view, but from Alessandra's friend Shelley. I didn't understand while I was reading Ash's POV I just thought he was being a controlling pig, but there was a lot more into it, as Shelley later explains, and I definitely was able to accept that along with Alessandra.
This book was full of sexy romance, and fun times, but as well as made me shed a tear or two. I loved the writing of E.L. Todd, and I am going to have to look into more books most definitely. This book is currently not released yet, but I definitely have to say that you should put in a pre-order for it. If you love, love and lust then this is going to be something you are not going to want to miss. It has everything that you could possibly want in a New Romance book.

Although Shelley is very supportive you can tell that she only wants the best for Alessandra, and is more than happy to help when she can. But isn't going to push her too far or too hard. While Sawyer is actually kind of a dick. When your friend asks you stop setting him up on dates, you stop setting him up... but no for Sawyer that just means, "until next time" and that is slightly annoying that he is so non-confident in himself that he as to tag his best friend along to try and get laid. Personally, I feel as though he is incompetent in trying to get his own date, without having a wing-man. Which is totally my own personally opinion.
Then there was the time after they got together, I wasn't huge on Ash trying to be controlling. I was little turned off by it, and thought that it was out of nowhere, but as I continued reading, I learned a lot more about where he was coming from for making his demands. And not just from his point of view, but from Alessandra's friend Shelley. I didn't understand while I was reading Ash's POV I just thought he was being a controlling pig, but there was a lot more into it, as Shelley later explains, and I definitely was able to accept that along with Alessandra.
This book was full of sexy romance, and fun times, but as well as made me shed a tear or two. I loved the writing of E.L. Todd, and I am going to have to look into more books most definitely. This book is currently not released yet, but I definitely have to say that you should put in a pre-order for it. If you love, love and lust then this is going to be something you are not going to want to miss. It has everything that you could possibly want in a New Romance book.

The description was definitely the draw for me to take a chance on a book by an author I’ve never read before and I have to say that I was surprised, pleasantly so, by everything from how much I liked the MC’s to not only how they as individuals grew, but their relationship. It was sweet, sassy and sexy as hell.
Now, I don't remember the last time I've wanted to simultaneously hug and smack a character upside the head and still adored the hell out of him, but that’s exactly what happened with Ash. He’s cocky, doesn’t know what an edit button is, sexy as shit and charming as hell. He comes off as immature at times and then does a full on 180 and drops knowledge on you that makes so much sense that you do a double take because you can’t believe that it came out of his mouth. But underneath that cocky and arrogant exterior is a heart of gold that ends up making you melt.
While Ash is, for lack of a better word, spontaneous, Alessandra is much more regimented. She’s been burned and pretty much has what she wants out of life set in stone so as not to fall into the same situation again, but she isn’t cold. She has a compassionate heart and can be quite snarky when the situation calls for it.
When Ash and Alessandra collide the sparks are definitely there and I really enjoyed watching as their relationship evolved. The attraction is there instantly, so that is never in question, but it was the way that they both shattered each other’s beliefs about themselves and each other. Nothing felt rushed and each step felt right when it came to who they both were. Of course that inevitable pothole in road to their HEA happens and to say I was a tinsy bit irritated by it, not because it happened, but because of a certain characters ***cough***Alessandra***cough*** handling of it, not that Ash handled things all that well either, but...Thankfully, things do work out, this is a true HEA no cliffhanger book, and it was more than satisfying.
The writing was engaging and I enjoyed the dual 1st person POV, though sometimes being in Ash’s head could be a bit much, but it was done well and I liked getting both sides of the story from them. The pacing was great and I had a difficult time putting it down. I’m definitely interested in seeing who the next book will feature.
The Bottom Line: This was a fun, sexy and sassy read and can’t wait for the next one!

*****ARC Review***** As a person with a background in English literature, I always find it hard to write a review of a romance novel. I love books of all kinds, and there are few things I love more than a good story. When I write reviews, as I read and review books from multiple genres, I try to focus on the quality of the narrative and whether or not the book held my attention. I have to say that Into The Fire was engrossing and captivating. I read this in a day, and never really wanted to put it down. The characters are well-drawn and the dialogue is focused and natural. In romance novels, you tend to see a lot of unnecessary word usage, especially before and after speech sequences. While the author does use the word "incredulous" too often, E.L. Todd has spared us the monotony of reading the phrases "he said" and "she exclaimed" over and over again, and the conversations flow as they should - like conversations. The dialogue, without question, is the best part of the novel. Ash's brazen and crass personality, which had me laughing more than once, is also tops on my list.
I have a few criticisms - some huge and some less so. While the romance in the story seems on par with other books of this genre, as far as the level of aggressive sexual encounters is concerned, there is a line between mutual sexual enjoyment and what comes close to being construed as date rape. I think it's irresponsible to pen a scene where the female lead says no, more than once, and is then handcuffed to a bed and taken without consent. It sends the wrong message to women, and implies that forcible sex is acceptable within the confines of a relationship. It isn't and certainly never should be, and this scene should be rewritten. Wow! Into the Fire is a flirtatious, passionate, at times angst driven story filled with great flow. I loved the characters and the way they meet and how they end up by the end. I loved the dual POV which helped me understand where the characters’ thoughts and feelings were.
Ash is a very cocky man who can be arrogant one moment and in another so sweet and alpha toward his woman. He says things without thinking but that’s part of his charm. He has a heart that wants to do for his woman; at times he gets too full of himself yet never too full to think of others. Ash was a war veteran and he has come home and all he wants is to run a business yet his parents refused to repay a loan because they do not approve of his business that he wants to run—doing tattoos. Which in order to get the loan he gave them paid back, he has to show he has met a nice girl and is “settling down”..this is how he meets Alessandra…
Alessandra- she is cautious. She has been burned too many times and now she is just trying to make it thru her days doing things right- she loves but loves with caution. She definitely can have an acid tongue when the situation calls for it. When she meets Ash, he has come to her with a business proposition- “act” like his girlfriend for a while, he will pay her and then when he gets his money paid back, they are done. But that’s isn’t what happened. They start to get involved, hearts get involved and they really start dating. There is the usual ups and downs when in a relationship but the ending was fantastic. I loved the story and the premise –the flow was fantastic. I found the MC to be believable and the ending awesome.

Ash and Alessandra go into their arrangement with a plan. Ash is looking to get his money back from his parents who have required that he get a girlfriend in order to grow up. He wants that money to build his own tattoo shop which is his dream although not what his parents want for him. He comes to Alessandra's business to rent a girlfriend and gets more than he bargained for in her. I loved Alessandra. She's strong and sassy and perfect for Ash. I really enjoyed their story.

It turns out that even though a guy who called women's attention (tall, good looking, tattooed body, curly dark hair), Ash did not consider himself the kind of guy who stays with only one woman. It was sex and goodbye. But since his parents came to this, he had to think of something.

This is one of those books with simple plot, but catch you from the beginning.
The tough guy who wants to take life in his own way without interference, but end up having to assign to third opinions. And it's at that point when he slows down, everything starts to become clear.
He just wanted to find a way to fool his parents he was in a relationship to get his money back and get on with his life, but then Alessandra came into his life.
Even for him, just to talk her name was already aphrodisiac.
Alessandra, in turn, liked her work. She made her time, had her independence and did not get involved with anyone from work. But Ash was also at her an erupting volcano. He convinced her they could be friends - as their plan could not run fast or his parents would distrust; protected her when she did not expect and made her heart desire to have someone in her life again.
Of course her ex, Tony, reappears to give that thrill among them.
And the romantic (sex) scenes .... Wow !! I forgot to say that in addition to being tattooed, Ash has a Apadravya? Scenes of the next chapters...
Romance with the right amount of drama.

When I first read the synopsis of Into the Fire I got really excited about the book. The plot had everything to nail it and, instead, I got very disappointed.
The story focuses on Alessandra (C'mon, the girl had the same name as I, how cool could that be?) and Ash. She is an escort, but not the sexual kind as many may think. Her job is to accompany men and act like their girlfriend in the events she's paid to show up. He is an ex-serviceman and now dreams about opening his own tattoo shop but has no money for that. Actually, he might have it if he hadn't loaned all he had so his parents could save the family business and name. The problem is that his parents finally have the money to pay him back, but they won't do it unless Ash finds himself a nice girl and settle down with her.
Ok, so, till that point, you'll have to agree with me how much promise this story held. However, it didn't deliver. Ash decides the easy way of getting his money back is hiring Alessandra's services so he can fool his parents while his love life remains nonexistent. The problem is, when they meet there's attraction between them, and, for the first time in his life Ash wants to spend his time with a girl. Very sweet it'd seem wasn't for the fact that Ash is an asshole. He's so immature and self-centered that it pained me. The only thing he can think about is sex, he doesn't have a worry in his life, and he doesn't care about people (even if the author says he does his actions tell you otherwise). Sometimes I just forgot he was an almost 30 year old man and pictured him as a spoiled teenager. Not so far, Alessandra can only think about money. She had her reasons to get in the business in the first place, I got that, but when everything in her life is finally OK she chooses to remain in the job because she digs the lifestyle it allows her. As the characters fall in love with each other, they refuse to act on it and that made me feel like the story froze 'cause nothing else happens until nearly the end of it. It's very boring, let me tell you that.
I guess what's worse is that neither Ash nor Alessandra learn from their past mistakes and let themselves grow into better people. Ash remains the dick he's always been as Alessandra's personality gets shadowed by it to the point that at the end it felt impossible to care about either of them.
Sincerely I wouldn't read this book again and neither would I recommend this to a friend for the simple fact that in this story nothing happens aside from the obvious - they fall in love and live happily ever after. It wasn't sweet, wasn't swoon worthy, just plain boring. Sorry, but there's so many nice books out there I feel like I wasted time on this one. Tell me if you ever give this book a shot and feel differently about it. We can chat :D

Beth's Review
Into the Fire first caught my eye with the cover and I decided to check out the synopsis. As soon as I read ex-military I was completely sold as I am a sucker hot alpha military guys. Up till now I had not read anything by this author so I was excited to check out her writing as I love finding new authors to read and follow. I am so glad I decided to check this one out.
Ash is an ex-military guy who hasn’t always lived up to his parents expectations, even though he help bail their company out years ago with his saving. Now they refuse to pay him back until he become a better man, or what they see as a better man, which includes setting down with a nice girl. Alessandra is an escort, but likes to consider herself more as an actor. She plays a part to help people, but her job has strict rules, no sex, no kissing and no touching other than an arm around a waist or holding hands. Ash decides to hire an escort to play his new girlfriend to help try to convince his parents he is setting down and becoming who they want him to be. But the attraction between them is undeniable but is it enough to cross the line and will their dinner dates with his parents be enough to convince them to give him back his money so he can finally follow his one dream.
I must say this one started off a little slow for me, it took me a bit to get into it and get a connection with the characters. I also want to add that for most of this book, I was truly expecting it to turn out to be the typical and very predictable storyline like most others are. To my shock, I was actually pleasantly surprised, all the predictions of what was going to happen along the way, never happened and I really loved where the author took their story, it was so different and fresh.
I loved Ash, he was a typical alpha male that was so cocky and full of himself but it was kind of in a cute way. He was so sexy hot, he knew it and wasn’t afraid to say he knew it, but I kind of loved him more because of it. He was a man whore but he was honest and upfront about it, he didn’t want a relationship, he was a one and done kind of guy and he told that to every women he met.
I really enjoyed how their dynamic played out. I loved how the buildup of their “friendship / relationship” played out in this story. It was nice to see how their connection grew even though at first neither really saw what was happening, to them it was a fling, they were just “F#$K Buddies” and nothing more but as the reader, you could see things develop slowly between them and as time passed the feelings they share grew stronger.
Overall a really enjoyable read that had some great hot and sexy moments, some really great banter between the two main characters and a really great story that brought them together. This may have been my first book by this author but it definitely won’t be my last.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I wanted to read this book because the blurb sounded interesting, the cover art was eye-catching and I've heard a lot about this author. It felt like it was the perfect book to start with to get to know EL Todd's writing.
In 'Into the Fire' we meet Ash, a tattooed ex-military hottie who wants nothing more than to get back the money he loaned his parents. But they don't like his life choices and want to see their son settle down before handing over the check. This brings us to Alessandra, the stunning escort going through a bad break-up. Ash hires Alessandra to pretend to be his girlfriend to convince his parents that he's a changed man so he can get the money. Ash doesn't do relationships and Alessandra never gets involved with her clients. What can possibly go wrong?
I didn't have the easiest time getting into this book. It didn't capture my interest right away and the storyline was completely predictable. I did think Ash was a fun character. Who doesn't love an ex-military man with tattoos? I loved his playfulness and cocky attitude, but he had many layers underneath that and it was fun to see each one bared. Alessandra was more one-dimensional. I didn't connect with her character quite as much. I found the author's descriptions of both characters' physical attributes and emotions very forced at times with the analogies that were used. Also, Ash's reactions in even the normal conversations were immature or just plain didn't make sense. It didn't come across that I was reading about two adults in their twenties, but rather high school kids that needed to grow up. There were a few occasions when I would go back to reread a scene because of contradictions in the current chapter. I wanted to read this book because the blurb sounded interesting, the cover art was eye-catching and I've heard a lot about this author. It felt like it was the perfect book to start with to get to know EL Todd's writing.
In 'Into the Fire' we meet Ash, a tattooed ex-military hottie who wants nothing more than to get back the money he loaned his parents. But they don't like his life choices and want to see their son settle down before handing over the check. This brings us to Alessandra, the stunning escort going through a bad break-up. Ash hires Alessandra to pretend to be his girlfriend to convince his parents that he's a changed man so he can get the money. Ash doesn't do relationships and Alessandra never gets involved with her clients. What can possibly go wrong?
I didn't have the easiest time getting into this book. It didn't capture my interest right away and the storyline was completely predictable. I did think Ash was a fun character. Who doesn't love an ex-military man with tattoos? I loved his playfulness and cocky attitude, but he had many layers underneath that and it was fun to see each one bared. Alessandra was more one-dimensional. I didn't connect with her character quite as much. I found the author's descriptions of both characters' physical attributes and emotions very forced at times with the analogies that were used. Also, Ash's reactions in even the normal conversations were immature or just plain didn't make sense. It didn't come across that I was reading about two adults in their twenties, but rather high school kids that needed to grow up. There were a few occasions when I would go back to reread a scene because of contradictions in the current chapter. I down right enjoyed this book! I never laughed so much in my life reading this story! The main characters definitely made me think about how amazing it is to have a best friend you could never lie to, someone you can click with and be completely honest about everything without worrying about hurt feelings.
Ash meets Alessandra through a call girl service (NOT PROSTITUTION) where the women help men though hard times whether is just simply trying to show off a date or an event or business dinner, or trying to get your parents off your back. What a great book, i really enjoy it Ash and Alessandra made my day their relationship is really a goal their honest with each other since day one.
At the beginning I was a little septic I was not expecting Ash to have this felling for her I thought she'll tell him and he'll reject her. I think there a mistake in the book cuz ( Alessandra saied she didn't talk to Ash for a few day after she began to confess her feeling, and she went to see him and saw that girl but in Ash' pov he saied the girl left after spending the night)
I really like Ash's personality he made me laugh so much I nearly pee my pant haha at the beginning I was "is he playing a role with his parents" but no what a guy. Ash is really a thing but even with that cocky look and arrogance this man has a big gold heart he's a veteran military and can't take No as an answer.
Alessandra what can I say she's hot as hell, but she wasn't that confident since Ash. She's miss independent, her last boyfriend was an dick but thanks to Ash she's more confident she changes for good, she's an escort and what!!! She's not ashamed she's taking care of herself.

I ABSOLUTELY was excited to read this book, because I loved The Beautiful Entourage series and this is the spin off. We met Ash an ex-soldier, sexy tattoo artist wanting to open his own tattoo shop. Trying to get a loan is not happening so he goes to his parents and wants the money back that he lent them. His parents thinks him opening a tattoo shop is a waste of time and doesn't support his dream, they told him if he gets a girlfriend and has a series relationship they will give him his money back. Not ever wanting a girlfriend his friend tells him about an escort service his friend went to called Beautiful Entourage. Alessandra works as an escort at Beautiful Entourage and likes her job. She was in a relationship but her BF left her because he found out the she needed to strip in order to pay for her appendix surgery. When she meets Ash her client, she understands him and he is relieved that she gets where he is coming from. His parents think he finally found someone and he can feel he will get his money back. When there attraction is too much they give in. Without realizing it Ash is changing but can't seem to realize want he truly wants until Alessandra is gone. With misunderstanding can Ash prove he can be who she truly wants? Absolutely love this story. I was hooked from the beginning.

Into the Fire is my first book by E.L. Todd. After having read the excerpt, I just had to read the whole book, I wanted to know more about Alessandra and Ash. This book is the first in the ‘Gorgeous Entourage Series’, which is a spinoff from the earlier published ‘Beautiful Entourage series’. Although I had some issues, the book as a whole surprised me in a good way.
Alessandra is working as a professional escort at the agency of her friends. She accompanies men to social events, or helps them out with bothersome families. She refers to herself as an actress, who acts to be in love with the man she escorts, but besides holding hands or the occasional peck on the cheek, nothing else happens. Although Alessandra has an unusual profession, she’s looking for the right man, the man to settle down with and have children. Falling for a client isn’t on her agenda, but the tattooed, very confident Ash is very hard to resist.
Ash is a former soldier bad boy turned tattoo artist, he’s cocky, over confident and knows his way with the ladies. Although he has served his country, his parents aren’t his biggest fans due to some misbehaving in his younger years. When their company is in financial trouble, Ash reaches out and loans them the much needed money. Wanting to opening his own tattoo shop, Ash needs his money back, but his parents are only willing to give it with conditions; get his act together, settle down and date a respectable girl. Don’t want to lead on a girl by pretending to date her, Ash decides to hire a fake girlfriend. He knows everything needs to stay professional between them, but Alessandra tempts him like no other.
From the moment they meet, Ash and Alessandra are very attracted to each other. While it is against company policies, they spend quite some time together, being fake boy- and girlfriend. Giving into their feelings for another is inevitable. While Alessandra wants to keep it casual – tattooed bad boy Ash isn’t the type she sees herself settling down with – Ash is really into her and wants to give them a shot at something real. Due to assumptions and not communicating Alessandra’s trust in Ash is broken, making her break things off. When Alessandra finally confronts Ash and learns the truth, the couple has a chance at their Happily Ever After.
As already said, Into the Fire is my first book by E.L. Todd. The book’s writing is entertaining, and I like the characters, to see both their point of view. I have no idea what I’m doing or why I’m doing it, but I’m just doing it.”
I’ve enjoyed reading this book and I will definitely pick up further books in this series. I give it 4 stars.

Two things prompted my decision to read and review this title. The author and the premise. Based on the blurb, I figured that this would be an intriguing and riveting read. This was my first time reading E.L. Todd's work, but I heard so many great things about her that I knew I had to give this book a try. Unfortunately, Into the Fire did not live up to my expectations. It was not that bad of a read. However, it was not gripping and it did not evoke the emotions I was expecting.
Can you imagine being blackmailed by your parents because they did not approve of your lifestyle? This is what happened to Ash. All he wanted was the money they owed him so he could fund the opening of his tattoo parlour. However, they wanted him to settle down with a nice girl. They believe that this would keep him grounded. Ash, however, was not interested in having a relationship as such the only way to get around this was to trick his parents into believing he was meeting their demands. This is where Alessandra came in.
Alessandra works at Beautiful Entourage as an escort. Men would hire her to pose as their girlfriend under special circumstances. There were rules to this arrangement. If these rules were broken the contract would be terminated. Will Alessandra be able to stick to these rules after spending time with Ash?
Based on the blurb I figured Ash would be a tortured soul. I was prepared to feel his pain and to get insight into what he was feeling from his time served in Afghanistan. However, I was sorely disappointed. Ash is arrogant and egotistical. He believes he is a sex god. He suffers from commitment phobia. He does not believe that relationships were made for him. He also has a major chip on his shoulder. I could not believe I was reading about a thirty-year-old man. His actions were that of a spoilt teenager. This made it difficult for me to connect with him. He did not display any traits of someone who had experienced atrocities while serving.
Alessandra was quite the opposite. She was modest and humble. She made some choices in the past that some may consider poor. I may not have agreed with what she did, but I did understand why she did it. It goes to show when your back is against the wall you may find yourself doing things that you would not have done under normal circumstances.
The story was told from the POVs of the main characters. This is one of my favourite things when reading a novel. It allows me to gain insight into what the characters are thinking and feeling. Getting insight into Ash’s thoughts revealed his level of immaturity. There were instances when his actions would endear him to me, but then he will do something that made me re-think my opinion of him.
The pacing was slow. It took me some time to get into the story. However, when I did it proved to be an ok read. I found the romance somewhat unrealistic. It happened too quickly, especially knowing that Ash did not believe in long term relationships. I found his belief odd in light of the fact that his parents appeared to be happily married.

Into the Fire is a phenomenally breathtaking story that will knock the very breath from your lungs while it seers itself into your very soul. Not many stories can enter your life feeling like such a hot mess and then turn around and touch your heart so fiercely and completely like this one did. I was taken by complete surprise, and I truly loved every minute of it. While this isn’t your conventional love story, it is a fantastically unforgettable one nonetheless.
Ash isn’t what you would label as boyfriend material in a million years. He is rough, rude, and highly caught up with himself at first glance. However, it’s the second glance that will hook you. What you though you saw is only a thinly veiled mask that hides a wounded heart, a tender soul, and a deep yearning for something that he can’t name or comprehend. It’s only when Alessandra enters his life that things slowly but sloppily begin to fall into place for him. There is a contentious push and pull between these two that will tear your heart to shreds while it warms and teases it with a glimpse of something great yet forever illusive. One wants something more while the other just wants to figure out what they want. Neither can argue with the growing feelings and emotions that the other brings out in them, but neither is willing to risk to their heart to push for what they both want. Will they finds themselves at a stalemate forever, or will one make the hard choice to walk away and hope to find what they desperately need?
Ash and Alessandra piqued my interest like no other couple with their calculated yet precarious relationship. They danced around and tripped over their feelings until their heart bore too many calluses to count. What they wanted and what they were willing to give up always kept them at odds with each other while their heart was screaming to give up their stubbornness and just give in to what they both needed. While watching the lives of other may show us a clear picture as to what they should do, we can never see our own lives in that same view of clarity. To us, it is cloudy fog that haunts us and toys with us and tempts us to risk everything and yet nothing at the same time. When will we learn that following our heart will lead us to what we have been searching for all along whether intentionally or accidentally? This is one couple that will take your heart on a daring and intricate rollercoaster ride that you will never forget! I loved every minute with them, and I know you will as well.

Into the fire is about Ash, an ex-soldier, who is trying to get the money he once loaned to his family back so he can follow his dreams and open his own tattoo shop. Once he figures that his family is doing good financially he asks them for the money back only to learn that despite all he has done for his family it is not enough. His parents don’t believe he is on the “right track” for life and refuse to give him his money back until he makes major changes- aka finds a good girl that he can settle down with. Settling down with a girl is not something that remotely interests Ash at all however he puts a plan into motion to fool his parents to get his money. This plan introduces us to Alessandra. Alessandra is an escort, not the prostitution type, but the escort type who poses as a date/girlfriend or whatever someone may need for a night but that is where her services end. When Ash comes looking for an escort to fool his parents he is introduced to Alessandra. Although there is instant chemistry and lust between them they both clearly state that a relationship between them cannot happen as they are one another clients. Plus each of them is on opposing sides of the spectrum when it comes to relationships. Alessandra wants the husband, 2.5 kids, and white picket fence while Ash is just interested in getting his tattoo shop up and running and having fun with woman. As the story unfolds it quickly becomes obvious that the friendship building between them is laying down the foundation of what could be an epic love relationship. Once lines are crossed- Ash and Alessandra’s relationship but professional and personal become blurry. This blurriness leads to misunderstandings and issues that potentially can run everything for the both of them. Will Ash and Alessandra be able to adhere to the rules they have set forth or will the outcome of crossing those lines ruin not only their professional and personal relationship but everything they have worked forth to help Ash get his money back.
I really really really liked this book! This was my first time reading a book by this author and I can tell you that it will not be my last! For me the story flowed so nicely that it was a nice quick read. I loved how the relationship between the characters developed as the story unfolded- it didn't seem generic or rushed at all. After finishing the book and doing some research this book is book one in the Gorgeous Entourage, so I am excited to see where else this series goes.

If you like inked men, then you're going to love Ash. He's your typical "love 'em and leave 'em" kind of guy. He doesn't do romance, he doesn't do dating, and he certainly doesn't do falling in love. His parents want to see him settle down with a girl and when a friend suggests hiring an escort to play the part of a loving girlfriend, he thinks this may be the key to his freedom.
Alessandra is a beautiful young woman, she's classy, funny, intelligent, she's what some people would call "the total package." Men hire her to escort them for the evening. Typically they're lonely men, looking for female company to prove to people that they aren't as lonely as they may seem. She plays the part perfectly, always on hand to make exes jealous. She doesn't have time for a real boyfriend as she's too busy with her job. But when Ash walks into her life, he's not the "typical" type of guy to hire an escort. He's hot, funny and inked. Why would he need to hire someone to pretend to be his girlfriend when he could have anyone he wanted? Women must be falling over themselves to get to him. What Alessandra doesn't realise is that he needs a fake girlfriend, not the real thing, and he needs her fast.
What starts out as just another job for Alessandra soon feels like it could be more. But Ash warned her from the off that she wouldn't change who he was, nor would he end up wanting a relationship with her. He'd made that perfectly clear. She wasn't sure what she saw in him that made her want more. He's funny and charming, he's good looking too. But he's also arrogant, everything he says seems cocky and he acts like such a jerk. Why is it she can't stop wanting something that's clearly never going to happen?
Into The Fire is exciting, it has you hooked from the first page to the last. Alessandra and Ash make one hot couple... Or not a "couple" in this case. There's plenty of fireworks in the bedroom department. The story is littered with emotion, laughter and in some cases, tears.
I could not put this book down.
If you are looking for a steamy read, this certainly ticks all the right boxes. You can't help but love Ash, even though he'd never love you back.
It's hard not to get your emotions all churned up when reading this book. You can't help but form a bond with the characters. My only wish is that it hadn't had to end. I wasn't ready for their story to be over. But it is, and I recommend it to anyone who loves a fast-paced, exciting read.

When I first started this book, I was really attracted to the personalities of both characters. They're just a little kooky. The dialogue exchange was pretty entertaining. After a while the fun began to wear on me. I was still interested though. Then, one of those misunderstandings happens where all they had to do was speak up, but of course they didn't. After that immature behavior took over, and they lost me. A lot of readers love character drama. I'm not one of them, but if you are, this story may be for you.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review, and I am going to provide it.
E.L Todd’s book, Into the Fire, was wonderful. It was funny, romantic; it had angst, and drama. I love contemporary romance. I think what draws me into contemporary romance is that women can relate to the characters. They represent modern women and how we feel and what tends to go through our heads. I think most modern women want a man that is sexy, alpha, and sensitive. We want an all-around good guy. Or, at least some semblance of that. Reality is much different then what we read in romance, but I think modern women can find something that comes close.
This is book one in the series and I can’t wait to read the next in the series, because I like continuance and I like to read about what’s going to happen next. She also has a back list of other books that she’s written, and I can’t wait to read her other works as well.
I loved the relationship between Ash and Alessandra. They really are perfect for each other. They complement each other, they are each other’s strength, they cheer each other on, they can be themselves with each other. They are true blue best friends. I love reading about that. I truly believe that people have to be each other’s friends before they can be each other’s lovers.
I loved Ash. He went through life opening his mouth and inserting his foot, but he really is harmless. He was spoken about throughout the book as having layers, and it’s true, he really does have layers. He reveals himself slowly, reluctantly, grudgingly, but he does reveal hidden depths about himself that endears himself to the reader. He is also untamable, stubborn, hardheaded, and he has zero filter and says exactly what’s on his mind and in his heart, whether the other person wants to hear it or not. He made me laugh and he endeared himself on my heart.
Alessandra is a women that needs to be tough and ballsy so that men don’t take advantage of her. She has what it takes to not allow herself to be intimidated by anyone and has the smarts to support herself now as well as in the future. She’s smart, sexy, and determined to make herself be successful at her career.
This was a fast read and made me giggle as I read it. I loved it.
