Driss et Alexa décident de former un groupe pour partir à la rencontre de la Mantrisse. Ce groupe est constitué, outre Driss et Alexa, par Kim et Marc, Gwendoline Lopes, rencontrée au moment de la catastrophe d'Arena Blanca, Ling Li, amie de Gwendoline et Marc, José Cabral, qui avait aidé Marc et Kim lors de leur voyage, et Valdomiro Lopes, le père de Gwendoline et sénateur. Ils sont rejoints par Monsieur Pad et Kurt Volker, un opposant politique, qui leur apprennent qu'ils sont suivis. Mais un espion est découvert et sabote le dirigeable au-dessus de la zone des Grands marécages. Le dirigeable perd inexorablement de l'altitude...

After having graduated as an engineer in mechanics, Oliveira left Brazil because of the military dictatorship that was in power at the time. He went first to Chile, but the following year saw the Chilean coup of 1973. This led Oliveira to leave, moving to Argentina, from where he finally returned to Brazil in 1974.
He found work as an illustrator in the advertising industry of São Paulo, before once more leaving Brazil, in 1981, this time moving to France, hoping to illustrate comics. However as the Franco-Belgian comics industry was in recession at the time, he was forced to work in advertising once again, although he managed to get the occasional piece published in L'Écho des savanes and Pilote.
In 1986, with the assistance of Jean-Claude Forest, Oliveira began contributing to the youth dedicated magazines of Bayard Presse. He illustrated true stories for Okapi magazine. He then recounted Mahatma Gandhi's life in the album Gandhi, le pèlerin de la paix, for Astrapi.
In 1988, the comics writer Rodolphe asked him to provide the artwork for his stories. Their collaboration proved fruitful, producing 8 albums of material for their Trent series and 5 for their Kenya one.
In 1993, Oleveira finally achieved an old dream when Dargaud agreed to publish his first solo series: Aldébaran. In 2000, after 5 volumes of Aldébaran, he launched Bételgeuse, which was nominated for the Prize for a Series at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in 2004.

Deel vier in de eerste cyclus. Veel wordt duidelijk. Er wordt meer richting gegeven aan het gevaar.

Kim et Marc se pécho enfin (toujours cringe). Le secret de Driss et Alexa est révélé. Le gouvernement fasciste fait de la merde (je parle du livre). L'histoire avance toujours lentement, mais on découvre du lore, ça va !

http://nwhyte.livejournal.com/2118648.html[return][return]Marc and Kim finally realise their attraction for one another, and together with most of the mysterious people they have encountered in the previous three volumes, they find themselves on a vast airship heading for the mystery at the core of their world - pursued by agents of the clericalist oppressive government which appears to be determined to stop them. I do hope that the last volume rounds this narrative off properly - the buildup so far has been very good.

Les événements mystérieux dans l’océan continuent à se produire avec la mantrisse, et sur terre, les révélations continuent elles aussi…
Gwendoline devient de moins en moins patient avec le gouvernement qui censure son travail à elle et a Li, car leur reportage et les photos qui vont avec montrent à quel point le gouvernement est une dictature qui essaie d’exercer un pouvoir quasiment absolu sur sa peuple, en commençant par ceux qui sont en prison.
Quant à Marc et Kim, ils se retrouvent et ils aéraient leurs sentiments cachés depuis longtemps et récemment découverts… car bien sûr, la vie est fait pour vivre, pour sentir, pour agir, et il faut profiter du moment – carpe diem !
On commence un peu mieux dans ce tome de comprendre le système politique/social d’Aldébaran, et de voir les deux côtés plus clairement. Et découvrir qu’il y a un troisième joueur dans cette société, sur lequel on ne connaît guère encore.
Il y avait deux cadres avec des images qui ne collaient pas du tout avec l’histoire actuelle au milieu, ce qui était très curieux. Mais à la fin on comprend ce qu’ils représentent, et vite on se rende compte que tout va changer.
Mais ce changement, ça va dire quoi pour la situation actuelle sur Aldébaran ? Entre « le groupe » rassemblé par Driss et Alexa et les forces du gouvernement qui les traquent, quel rôle jouerait-il ce changement ?

Finalmente la rivelazione. E la storia assume un contorno ancora più avventuroso, con una maggiore spiegazione biologica di come funzionino le cose su Aldebaran. Ci sono anche pericoli ed intrighi, ovviamente, a tener desta l’attenzione, e l’ immancabile sabotaggio... ma il tutto è congegnato benissimo, e rende la cosa appassionante. Finora é l’episodio migliore, e credo proprio che sia l’antipasto del prossimo, ultimo numero.

Très heureuse de me replonger dans l'univers incroyable des mondes d'Aldebaran ! Le rythme de l'avancement de l'intrigue est idéal pour une bande dessinée. Des enjeux nouveaux, des réponses et de nouvelles questions, très hâte de découvrir la suite !!

Encore un excellent tome où on en apprend toujours plus sur les mystères d’Aldebaran. La dernière planche laisse planer un grand suspens...

Four books into the Aldebaran series and the story is moving at pace, setting things up nice for a (hopefully) enjoyable conclusion in the final volume. There’s plenty for the sci fi fan to enjoy.

Halb zog sie ihn, halb sank er hin
"Die Blonde" und ihr Freund, immer noch als Terroristen von der Regierung Aldebarans verfolgt, suchen Mitstreiter für ihre neue Gruppe. Dass sich Marc da nicht lange bitten lässt, ist klar - und er bringt noch weitere engagierte Leute mit, die alle aber gar nicht wissen, worauf sie sich einlassen, denn inzwischen stehen sie alle auf der Fahndungsliste eines totalitären Regimes.
Zumindest wir, die Leser, erfahren nun so langsam, worum es in dieser Reihe eigentlich geht. Die ganzen Andeutungen und obskuren Hinweise auf die Meeresbiologie und die Besiedlungsgeschichte Aldebarans werden zumindest teilweise in diesem Band etwas erläutert. Leider passt sich die Atmosphäre der Erklärungen an die träge Restatmosphäre der Reihe an - kein Wow-Effekt also.
Für mich der beste Band der Reihe bisher, was aber nicht viel heißen will, da ich von einem recht niedrigen Grundniveau ausgehe. Nun will ich aber schon wissen, wie die Schlussszenen dieses Bands, die eine höchst unerwartete (naja, vielleicht eher etwas unerwartete) Wendung der Story bringen könnten, weitergeführt werden...

Ich lese nicht viel Comix, wenn dann mit SF-Inhalt. Dieser gefiel mir aber recht gut. Er spielt auf einer etwas verschlafenen Erd-Kolonie, wo die weitgehend unerforschte Riesen-Meeresfauna plötzlich gefährlich wird.
