Okay, well, obviously this is a harlequin and like most harlequins, the romance is the focal point of the story. What's great about this book is that there is a mystery involved and that mystery does take a big role in the book. What's important for the reader is that the main characters have known each other for a while and then they start realizing their attraction runs deeper than physical.

I like that. It makes the romance believable. Because not every romance book should have a love at first sight feel.

I love Tara. She is feisty, strong, and opinionated. I could see her being real. Alex was a bit difficult, but as a personality, believable. It's more of his background and the motivations of being a cop that confused me.

All in all, it isn't a bad read. If you are in need of fluff, this is a book to go for. It's fluffy, but not the half naked highlander all the time fluff. It's normal fluff with a dash of conspiracy fluff. Sometimes, you just need fluff.

Cop (the "black sheep" son from a rich family) x Reporter with some prejudice against rich people, team up to find out what happened to a rich socialite who disappeared on her wedding day years ago.

Romance and spice was good, but since it's a short book, there was not enough plot, tension and suspense for my liking. It's an enjoyable read to pass the time.

don't get turned off because its a silhouette. (or maybe i'm the only one who does...?)

another great suspenseful romance from mary burton. actually, like most of her books - i'd call it a suspense novel, with some romance between the two heroes. the story of their romance is totally secondary, and the suspense element is easily strong enough to be a stand-alone.

sure, i figured most of it out before the end. and sure, there's a lot of one dimensional characters (pub owning aunt with big boobs and a raunchy past, rich matriarchal grandmother who is the only member of the family who isn't bothered by the rich son's career as a policeman, snobby ex-wife with pearls and chignons, etc. etc. etc.) but not too too painful.

I give this book 2 1/2 stars - it doesn't deserve 3. It was just alright. It was a very easy read though and I like books like that.

Ok for a romance/mystery. First book read by Mary Burton. Trying her out. Will probably read a few more, just wait and see.
