Paul Carson is a doctor based in south Dublin where he runs an Asthma and Allergy clinc for children. He has published a number of health books and, as well as weiting various medical journals, he was editor of Irish Doctor magazine. Dr Carson is married and has two children.
I couldn’t finish this I tried to but there was just nothing there. Really slow then in 3 sentences the plot would jump forward but without any build up or momentum it was like oh this is where he’s going with this. The characters random thoughts and how is only the odd time thought about his gf who he hadn’t heard from in days like ok 👌 this book was not good. The random plot line that he ends up in an English jail and they claim he was outside a nightclub in England ok here is where you get a lawyer what about camera footage etc ugh just no.. Being Irish it annoyed me that the most dangerous jail was in Ireland we are not in South America seriously. And we don’t have motels in Ireland why was the author making Ireland out to be something it’s not.

Not my cup of tea. I thought the writing was pretty atrocious and the plot didn't hold my interest. Actually didn't finish it, more like skipped to the last page and moved on to another book.
Dr. Frank Ryan was the CMO of the notorious Harmon penitentiary situated in Dublin. He knew it was a risky job but one which appeal to his Aussie outback tough exterior. His trouble starts one fine morning when he was called to the prison at 3am. Walking out into a blizzard he was set upon but when he came to he found himself in an English prison for drunken brawling. Trying to investigate this he found out that His girlfriend Lisa has also disappear. As he got entangled in a web of lies and deception from drug crazed inmates, he try to unravel the disappearance of Lisa but without any success. The only answer he can find lies behind the career of Lisa who incidentally works with the UN to uncover war crimes committed by dictators in the Balkan wars. As the climax of the book kicks in, the ending is a damp squib.
This book started like a rocket, very similar to a Joe Finder thriller. However it dipped for me in the middle and struggled to reignite. It remains a good read and i think Carson is a good author however i cant help feeling it just lost its edge in the middle. Good concept, strong story and worth reading.
The beginning it was great. The middle part was where I started skipping pages untill the very end. The middle part was fufilled with random bs that was not relavant and I did not care about that. I kinda understood the story, but at the same time I did not. this book was very mid i guess.
