Glaciers! Snow monsters! Derflootle! The twins are about to get iced.
Edgar and Ellen's pursuit of their nemesis, Stephanie Knightleigh, leads them to Frøsthaven, an Arctic village whose cheerful citizens and strange customs remind them of home. What makes this place a sugary sweet duplicate of Nod's Limbs? The secret, alas, is upon the forbidden slopes of the Glöggenheim, where dwells something that doesn't take kindly to being disturbed.
Charles Ogden is the pen name used by a collection of authors at Star Farm Productions for the Edgar & Ellen book series for children and young adults. The pen name is credited with nine books (with a tenth upcoming), published by both Tricycle Press, and more recently, Simon & Schuster.
I’ve been reading these to my 5 year old. He saw the cartoon first and loved Edgar and Ellen so we tracked down the books and started reading them. Unlike a lot of other kids chapter books this has a few “stupids” but that’s it. Mom doesn’t have to invent new words through the book because he’s 5 and doesn’t need to know this that and the other are dumb.
Seeing Edgar and Ellen in a different location than Nod's Limbs and the adds a little something extra to this series entry, which is still well-written and enjoyable.
Incredible,Splendid, adventurous, how could I describe this amazing book of the Edgar & Ellen (Nodyssey Series book 2 ) Frost Bites?
Blurb.

It's a rootin', tootin' Edgar and Ellen adventure! I like this series very much, and Edgar and Ellen are the two pains in the butts that you'd love to hate. Obviously, it's not terribly difficult reading, but it's clever and I like the way the twins are the mean but not malicious; they are sweet kids . . . in their own twisted way.
'Ask yourself what Ellen & Edgar would do. Then, do exactly the contrary.'
These books about a wild brother/sister duo who traverse the world in their footie pajamas, with their creepy pet and nothing but mayhem on their minds, is way too cute in a creepy way.
It is the same as the first book but she is more trained and this time is trying to find out who her parents killers are. So she is trying to find the killer and she is having a trouble time and she has her friends help her with it to.
Great story. Finding a town similar to Nod's Limbs, in the artic was a tragic happening for Edgar and Ellen. The discovery also helped them find The Black Diamond balm spring. Their tangle with Stephanie ended badly again and so they now have to split up for the next story. How will it end?
