Includes how to build a resilient brand; how to understand what the customer really wants; how to build a resume that really works.
A great guide to help one write their resume. Although I think the examples were a bit too chunky for an entry level applicant or maybe it's a cultural difference because in my country attaching a photo to the resume is a plus and sometimes required by the company.
A welcome how to guide that provides tips beyond common sense. Detailed examples and step by step instructions on making a resume that outshines the competition.
Great collection of resumes and why they are broken down is explained quite well. I'm sure the 9th Edition is a lot better than the 8th, which was totally worthless.
Great go to - this author updates regularly and keeps up with the trends. Its important to go with the most recent edition. This has been a grest resource for me over time.
Easy to read and loaded with good advice on putting together a resume that will get you noticed in today's job market. What to include, what not to include, and lots of sample resumes.
Very good tool for creating a great resume. Not all of it applied to me, but I feel there is something useful for everyone, no matter what your occupation.

Knock em Dead Resumes by Martin Yate- though a short read only 129 pages the author offered a concise and thorough exploration of the subject. He offers suggestions on first writing your base resume and how to expand it from there depending on the job your looking for or how your own situation or skill set has changed. The reader is offered samples and very precise examples every step of the way. Yates has written several books on the subject of Resumes and job hunting with all of them getting good reviews. I would recommend this book and plan to now use it as a source book through the rest of my working career.
This was incredibly useful in helping me to focus my resume. The questions and worksheets allowed me to produce a lot of notes and realize assets I hadn't even considered. While not all of it ended up in the resume (obviously), I feel like it has also prepared me to better answer questions in interviews as well. The multitude of examples in the back of the book gave me a lot of options to peruse and helped me figure out how to best present myself and my "brand" to future employers. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is job hunting or just wanting to refresh their resume.
I'm learning that I can put quotes from collegues, co-workers and etc into parts of my resuem. a summary of skills is good and that career objectives can be vague or more specific. I learned how to be more presice from this book. It also gave me insights to help others when I saw there resume's. I would totally recommend this book to anyone needing some assiting in polishing their resume/cover letters.
My biggest complaint about this book is that it keeps referring you to his website; on the website they no longer offer the free examples, they just try to sell you resume writing services! Isn't this at cross- purposes? If the book was good you wouldn't have to purchase the services, which are not cheap either- Hundreds of dollars. Just do the work and create your own résumé!
The information provided brought a new outlook and vision on how this develop a resume. I applied way I learned and applied for a director actor position. Within three days of posting I was calling even n for an interview. I contribute what I learned to this success. Waiting to find out if I was selected.
This is a book that I picked up when I was in job search, and now use in my day to day work life. There are excellent examples for resume writing, which have been most helpful for me when I assist individuals who have found themselves looking for employment in new fields.
Highly recommend this guide! No nonsense tips and advice to help you stand out from the rest. I have already purchased two other publications in the "Knock 'Em Dead" series, and I can't wait to start them!
This book is absolutely wonderful! Much more than just a how-to book--it gives insight to why and how technology has changed the way we need to present ourselves when applying for new jobs. Fantastic read and I cannot wait to see how my improved resume helps me!
