Ще се видим отново с нашите герои в следващите албуми от поредицата и ще проследим с интерес, какво ги очаква нататък.

After the positive momentum built up in the last few instalments, this one was a disappointment.  The story takes us from point A to point B only by employing the hackiest devices and one of the most impossibly implausible scenes I've ever read.  The art looks rushed.  We know Rosinski can do better, so this work is a particular shame.

Die Gerechtigkeit siegt
Ogotaï ist besiegt, doch, wie es oft geschieht, führt das Untergehen eines Tyrannen nur zu Begehrlichkeiten anderer machtgieriger Politiker. Dass Jolan als Kind und gleichzeitig neuer Gott Hurukan der Xinjins leicht manipulierbar ist, führt zu neuen Verwicklungen, obwohl Thorgal doch eigentlich diese für ihn so belastende Phase seines Lebens schnell hinter sich lassen wollte...

Keine große Erzähl-, dafür erneut große Zeichenkunst. Erneut zeigt Rosiński seine Qualitäten, extreme Lichtverhältnisse darzustellen: War es früher eher das gedämpfte Licht einer Wikingerbehausung oder die Stickigkeit einer Galeeren-Ruderbank, so ist es hier, wie im gesamten Qâ-Zyklus, die glühende Sonne, die alles bestimmt. Eine besonders spektakuläre Sache dabei ist die bouche du soleil, abgebildet auf dem Cover, in die Thorgal und seine Begleiter zum Tode durch Verbrutzeln verbracht werden - die antike Form einer Mikrowelle.

Für ein Detail bin ich den Autoren dankbar - als Jolans Hund Muff in Gefahr gerät, nutzen die Autoren nicht diese Chance, ein bisschen Bösartigkeit in die Reihe zu bringen, sondern lassen ihn durchkommen. Andere hätten vielleicht Muff als Bauernopfer in den Hundehimmel gehen lassen, nur um zu zeigen, wie gefährlich die Situation gerade ist.

Mit diesem Band endet der Qâ-Zyklus, Thorgal und seine Familie sind um viele Erfahrungen reicher und um einige Freunde ärmer - einige davon werde auch ich vermissen. Die Leinwand für neue Abenteuer ist wieder weiß. Da man bei dieser Reihe nie weiß, was als nächstes passieren könnte, bin ich gespannt, was sich die Autoren nun einfallen lassen, um Thorgal zu quälen.

Ta część wieńczy świetny mini-cykl, w którym autorzy prawdopodobnie wzbili się na poziom, jakiego już w tej serii nie osiągną, dlatego jednak trochę rozczarowuje doklejony jakby na siłę tom zamykający, który całość niepotrzebnie rozwleka. Wraca Deus ex machina, gdy Jolan uwięziony przez Uebeca znajduje tajne przejście za jakąś kotarą - kompletnie z dupy. W ogóle jego zachowanie i w konsekwencji lanie na goły tyłek zaserwowane przez Thorgala to moment, w którym poczułem głębokie zażenowanie. No i Kriss De Valnor tak głupia, że jarała się złotem nawet wtedy, kiedy przemieniono ją w (na oko) 300-letnią staruszkę. Dodajcie mój śmiech, gdy kreowana na nieprzeciętną wojowniczkę bohaterka zostaje zmieciona jednym kopniakiem przez kilkuletniego gówniarza i macie nie do końca fajne zakończenie fajnej opowieści

Wspomnienia z podstawówki, kiedy się czytało takie rzeczy.

Thorgal i Aarcia chcą wracać do domu, ale ich syn, Jolan, został nowym bogiem Xinjinsów i jest manipulowany przez Uebaca. Kiedy Jolan odkrywa prawdziwe zamiary Uebeca, zwraca się do Kriss de Valnor. Jednak pomoc z jej strony jest wątpliwa.

So, I was probably wrong saying that the previous Thorgal album was the last part of the story. It seems that this one is though but there's a bit of lazy writing here.

Thorgal ha sconfitto il proprio padre impazzito, Kriss di Valnor è diventata vecchia, ricca e disperata. Ma il problema è che Jolan è tenuto prigioniero dagli Xinjiin, e serve come specchiello per le allodole per l'ascesa al potere di un uomo privo di scrupoli. Si conclude con questo volume la storia che ha portato Thorgal a confrontarsi con la sua ascendenza e Jolan a scoprire di possedere poteri oltre l'umano. Piede d'Albero rimane in sud america, mentre Kriss scompare, ma ritornerà. E la misteriosa cuffia che amplifica i poteri del bambino finisce in fondo a un fiume, pronta anche lei a ritornare. Al solito gran bella storia e disegni fantastici. Qui al netto di un finale che, complice lo spazio limitato a disposizione per un volume one shot (primo caso nella storia di Thorgal) appare un po' affrettato. Belli come sempre i personaggi di contorno come il sacerdote Variay, fedele al nonno di Jolan, ma pronto a schierarsi con il bambino quando, nonostante tutto, vuole andar via.

Ostatni z czterech zeszytów, które obrazują wyprawę Thorgala i przyjaciół do Ameryki Południowej, aby odzyskać swojego syna. Teraz, po bitwie z Ogotai'em lud Xinjinsów obiera sobie na bóstwo młodego Jolana, który ma moce robienia rzeczy, o których prymitywnie ludzie mogą tylko pomarzyć.

Rodzice chłopca chcą wrócić do domu, ale polityczna walka o schedę po niedawnym wrogu, właśnie wkracza na nowy poziom. Nowy kapłan, Uebec ma własne plany co do niezwykłego dziecka i nie ma znaczenia, czy w drodze do dziecka zginą jego bliscy. To plus powracająca Kriss de Valnor w nieco innej odsłonie.

Po raz pierwszy w serii nic mnie nie zaskoczyło, a wszystko toczyło się względem pewnych szablonów, przez co fabuła była maksymalnie przewidywalna. Trzynasty już tom serii to dla mnie taka mała zapchaj dziura przed nowym rozdaniem. Nie jest źle, ale w serii było dużo lepiej. Rosiński jak zwykle klasa sama w sobie.

The final album of the five part storyline, follows Thorgal, Aricia and ill-fated Kriss of Valnor in the land of Xinjin which is now finally at peace.


But soon, things go bad as a new threat arises in the form of Uebac who thirsts for power and tries to take control of Young Jolan who is convinced that he's the new God of Xinjin.


The vile Kriss of Valnor returns back and turns fate to her own fortunes.


In the end, we come to the actual conclusion of the 5 part storyline that began with "The Archers" - we see the fate of every character including Thorgal, Aricia, Jolan, Tree foot and Kriss of Valnor.

The album does feels a little rushed up and maybe even as a unnecessary filler which no will miss if it hadn't been done.
But it is engaging and it contains the terrible mouth of Sun torture sequence 🤯

In 'De stad van de verloren god' bereikte de Qâ-cyclus zijn hoogtepunt. Maar het verhaal moest ook nog afgerond worden en dat gebeurt in 'Tussen aarde en licht'. Dit is dus meer een noodzakelijk dan een geslaagd album, ondanks de spanning die Van Hamme er nog in probeert te gooien.

Thorgal nous entraine encore dans une nouvelle aventure, au récit intrigant et aux illustrations très réussies (surtout dans ce tome, le désert, la torture sous le soleil...), dans un cycle "LE GRAND PAYS" composé des tomes 9 à 13, dont c'est le dernier. Les dialogues, les personnages, et l'originalité et les aspects réalistes du récit, que je découvre longtemps après sa sortie, en font, pour moi, une œuvre majeure.

Ce tome clôture le Cycle du pays Qâ de manière géniale. Je suis un peu déçue que la terrible Kriss de Valnor revienne si vite dans le paysage, lol !!! Mais ça remet du piquant au récit et surtout une adversaire à nouveau à la hauteur du clan Aergirsson.

Η επική ιστορία που εκτείνεται στα τεύχη 10-12 είναι συναρπαστική και πολύ έξυπνη. Στο 13 έχουμε μια παράταση της ίδιας ιστορίας που όμως θυμίζει μάλλον Λούκι Λουκ και Μπλεκ. Κακοραμμένα περιστατικά χωρίς καμιά μαγεία.

Good epilogue to their adventure in the land of Qa. Jolan's character arc is great and the Suns Mouth is a cool obstacle. They're rescue is a bit too easy; they're plot armour in this one is too much I think. What happens with Kriss of Valnor is fantastic though.

Dit deel rondt het verhaal in Qa af. Ter nauwer nood weet de familie de politiek te ontsnappen, en Kriss haar vloek. De beste langere verhaallijn van de serie, als je het mij vraagt.

Encore une jolie étude de ce que le pouvoir peut engendrer comme injustices suivant la personne qui l'a entre les mains. J'aime quand ils s'intéressent à Jolan mais que le côté posé et sage de Thorgal prévaut malgré tout. De très beaux dessins pleins de couleurs donnent vie à la prison de cristaux où ils sont enfermés.

Z tym albumem zawsze miałem pewien kłopot, z jednej strony wszystko co się tu dzieje, jest logiczna konsekwencja wydarzeń z poprzednich części. Z drugiej strony, nie czuć już takiej stawki, a i zakończenie nieco pośpieszne. Mimo wszystko przyzwoity epilog story arcu Kraina Qa.
