In 1947 Chuck Williams arrived in Sonoma, CA with the idea of building homes—first as a contractor, later as the owner of a hardware shop and finally as the founder of the first Williams-Sonoma store for cooks. Half a century later that small cookware shop has evolved into a multi-billion dollar retailing leader whose products encompass every room in the home.
By far the prettiest cookbook I own. The recipes are very nice, if kind of aimed at people with a lot more money than me. Occasionally though I'll splurge and buy all the 'right' ingredients and treat me and my husband to something a little fancier. Nothing here is especially hard, and the pricier items can always be subbed out for something tasty and cheaper. Mostly though, it's really pretty and the photography/food styling looks awesome.
