Akart's roller coaster political thriller series continues... and in book 3 of this series, we experience our group of characters facing the sudden -- without warning-- collapse of the US power grid.

The book's pace is fast and tense since these "loyal 9" did not know what the leader of the Boston Brahmin did, and were caught like the rest of the country unaware and in some cases in dangerous scenarios when the nation goes dark.

I felt a real connection to many of the characters throughout this installment and at times the tension and danger felt very real. Given the current US political climate, the real life backdrop while reading this hauntingly too close to reality fiction thriller, left me quite a bit nervous! A real nail biter with an ending you may have feared was coming, yet not quite able to digest as--the new America. )in the series)

Akart IMO is accurate in how fast society will devolve firing a collapse crisis. While at times very emotional and painful to read, Akart is likely on point that mayhem will overcome any semblance of order. And in spite of it all the characters realize the worst reality is hearing any version of "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help."

Does the End Justify the Means

Martial Law, book three in the Boston Brahmin Political Thrillers series opens with fireworks. The lights across America go out with explosions, bangs and quiet whimpers. People are confused initially, then angry and ultimately frightened out of their minds.

At 10 Beacon Street in Boston, Sarge is in charge of rounding up the families of the Loyal Nine and bringing them back to the building. Initially, he meets with little trouble. But as the day passes, he encounters more violence in the city, panicking residents, looters and resistance from residents in his own building.

John Morgan, the power behind the political play, finds out that Abby, his daughter and potential Vice-president, has been diverted to Florida. He is terrified, as he knows she will be caught in the black out.

John Morgan's goal is to get everyone together at the Triple Q property, under his security, with it's underground safe house and ten year supply of food. Sarge manages to get almost everyone there. John goes after Abby in his Sikorsky helicopter and they have to leave Abby's beloved and wounded guard, Drew, behind.

Ask yourself why this book is called Martial Law. And then ask yourself if you know what that truly means. How would you feel if the every day rights you take for granted suddenly disappeared. When you read this book, you will know. And you will feel the terror.

*I requested and was granted an Audible code for this audio book*

3.5 Stars

Be aware that it takes a while to get past all of the front matter and start the actual book. I believe it was Chapter 10 that the story actually started.

I'm enjoying this series, like reading all of the intracacies of the characters, but I have to admit that I felt a little bogged down in detail this time around. I guess I was expecting more action now, more ba-BOOM, and feel a little bit let down. Don't get me wrong, it was still an interesting read, and I will definitely continue on with the series. Not because I have the series all on Audio, but because I am invested and interested to see where this leads, what happens next. I just hope the pace and action pick up tempo in the next book.

The narrator does a bang up job on these. He has subtle changes to his accent for different characters that you almost don't notice at first, but you definitely know when a new characters is speaking. Well done, as always.

Overall Bob says: 4 Platypires

The moment this book hit my kindle, I immediately sensed an explosive story unfolding. MARTIAL LAW is by far the best in the series. With each book in the series, the action is more intense , the survival is more urgent and the characters are more prepared. The beginning starts off with a bang and never lets up. What happens when the power goes out everywhere? Are you prepared? The Loyal Nine have been prepared for this and the team is closing the gap in their tight knit group. All around them is panic and mayhem. The team is strong and with a sense of calmness, they put their plan of survival into place. This third installment in this series has everything you would expect from a fast paced thriller. Bobby Akart has become a best selling author to be reckoned with. He pulls no punches, is straight forward and delivers a story that gave me shivers as I envisioned myself in the midst of the crowd fighting for supplies. I love the author's knowledge of guns, technology and law . He is the master of history and is very detailed in that area. It shows in the intelligent writing throughout the book. I loved the references to easily identifiable things like CVS where people were fighting to get their medication. It really hits home and makes readers hopefully start to think about the future . The book is authentic and will have you thinking about your preparedness if this would happen in your town or state. I'm thrilled that MARTIAL LAW is now available because it is a must read for everyone. Don't miss your chance to read a story that grabs your attention and makes you think. Are you ready? Can you defend yourself ? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to survive?

The power grids on both sides of the contiguous 48 are knocked offline by a cyber attack orchestrated by John Morgan of The Boston Brahmin using the Zero Day Gamers’ hacking abilities. All of the lower 48 except the great state of Texas has lost electricity and it could take years to fully restore. The President is on vacation in Hawaii where he will maintain his office and declare Martial Law.
Akart does not disappoint in the third installment of The Boston Brahmin series, Martial Law. This fast paced political/apocalyptic thriller will keep you on edge from beginning to end. We follow the Loyal Nine as they make their way to Boston through the breakdown of society that occurs within the first four days after the blackout began. We see them start to question the role The Boston Brahmin is playing in the events as they unfold.
The setting is two months before the presidential election. With the USA in chaos will the sitting president rise to the occasion or will others take this opportunity to decide America’s fate? The situation is all too real in the realm of possibilities based on what is currently happening in the world today.
I am chomping at the bit for the next book in this series.

This is book 3 in an ongoing series. It would be really beneficial for you to read The Loyal Nine first, and it wouldn't hurt to read Cyber Attack either. Then you will know the major players and not feel like you are coming in the middle. Okay, Martial Law. Pick a page, any page, and there is action. Lots of action. Or it is a page leading up to lots of action. All of our heroes and not so heroes are in different areas of the country when the entire country is thrown into a black out, except for Texas. There is instant chaos as people realize this is a long term deal. There are all sorts of good and bad (mostly bad) encounters as the team tries to get back together again. If you are not sure what a prepper is, you will be after this episode of the Boston Brahmin series. So buckle up and keep your hands inside the car at all times.

An unbelievably intense third installment to The Boston Brahmin series. The author has pulled no punches this time! A prophetically alarming book of what could happen in a grid down scenario and after getting to know and love the characters from the first two books, the reader gets to see their reactions to situations, thought processes and ultimate outcomes in the fight for survival. Very well written and extremely fast-paced, this book will keep you on the edge of your seat....and won't let go!

Your worst nightmare coming true!

Have a seat on the front row of a major collapse event! Watch as our nation surges down the drain taking compassion with it. Bobby Akart's Boston Brahmin series hits way too close to home, and will make you want to grab that extra case of water and Dinty Moore stew "just in case."

"Another Avenue Of Saving America"

In this prophetic novel, a vicious cyber attack has been launched on the U.S. infrastructure. People are racing to safety and seeking survival. There are nine men, descended from the history of The Loyal Bostonians, who are deeply involved in restoring the laws of our constitution. They also take on the challenge to restore electrical power to our country as the presidential election is pending. This thriller continues to be thought provoking as we currently see our current government crumbling. As much as I love the stories by this author, I feel there were too many repeated dialogues which slowed me down wondering if I was on the wrong page or chapter! Be assured, I'm still going to reading the next book in the series.

Interesting

Finally book 3 of the series give a big clue to the storyline. A maniac named John Morgan who is a very rich and powerful man has decided to play God with the lives of the American people. He hides behind his flag waving but his purpose is to gain more power and wealth. He will do it at any cost and is willing to have someone to kill those who oppose. Meanwhile he pulls the strings of his puppets, who unwittingly do his bidding.

Hopefully someone will have the guts to hang John Morgan.

Another awesome and terrifying thriller

For some reason the review page did not come up for the first couple of books so I will comment here for all three. As always there is a wealth of information in each book. Most of the computer information was way above me but I can see that it would be informative to savvy people. I always look forward to the information in an Akart book because I learn so much with all the research I do to check out his statements. A thriller that keeps a person up way too late and an educational treatise as well. Can’t wait to read “false flag “!

Books 1-3

Very good so far in this series. I can certainly see the president at that time doing exactly what ended book 3 in the series. He was/is a pompous, arrogant, narcissist based on this story.
The only negative I have seen in this series is that the author repeats himself... .repeatedly. That would be OK if these books were standalone, but they aren't. One needs to read them in order so the story flows. I still give it a 5 stars rating.
On the positive side. I thank you for limiting the profanity in this series, and I look forward to reading the remainder of it.

I am so tired due to lack of sleep. This is some scary sh*t.
Bobby's writing and knowledge of events that mimic those so evident in today's society. The cyber attack caused the government to instate martial law and the suspension of constitutional rights. How much is similar in today's political system? I shudder at the thought.
I just wonder how much John Morgan is pulling the president's strings. The division within society there is similar to that we have today.
Makes you wonder...and have nightmares.

A BA. SYFY. Novel About the Boston Brahmin Blackout Series (3)

BA. has. penned the 3rd Novel of the Boston Brahmin Blackout Series. After the alleged EM P attack the US is thrown into a different time frame.
The prior coordination established falls into complete disarray. Even though the coordinators had a lengthy plan it fell apart and their people and families were stranded and a few were killed. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Finally we get to the apocalypse

It’s been real slow getting here. This is more of a political book than apocalyptic. It’s taken till book 3 to get this far. The characters are interesting but if you are not into politics and just like “apocalyptical” books you won’t care for this series as much as his others.

Survival thriller

This series is focused on the political side of an apocalyptic cyber act causing the collapse of our power grid. The power brokers both in government and behind the scenes can manipulate a great deal. This is a story about how power corrupts and what could happen if the crisis was used to strip away our protection under the Constitution.

The excitement picked up a bit more in this book. Still not at a point where I couldn't put it down. I'm not sure if I'm struggling to connect with the characters, believe the plot setups, or bogged down with facts. But, I'm struggling with this series. I'm bummed because I love this genre and I love this author.

The buildup has ended and now the apocalypse has started. The use of actual current figures continues and I do have to remind myself that it is fiction. This is well written and a good "chapter" in the series. Still quite and undercurrent of shadowy forces.

Without doubt, The Boston Brahmin series is the perfection i've been searching for, for years.
I've read so many TEOTWAWKI books, and even the best are flawed in some way.
Bobby Akart delivers the ultimate in collapse realism, with his totally dedicated and thorough research of the subject. It's eye opening, and i've learned so much about US history.
I have failed to find a single thing in this series which i disagree with.
Bobby Akart debunks many myths, and frequently throws in some valuable history lessons, as well as many survival tips.
I struggle to see how anyone could better this series.
