This book is pretty interesting. The only thing is that some of the records listed make you go, "Really? You couldn't find something better to put in the book? There has to be something more interesting than how many people can slice meat at the same time."
But there are still other parts more interesting, like how old a certain candy store is. Personally, I like that kind of stuff.
And also, I am not in the target age range, so I think they may like the book even better (which might be part of the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 3).
These were interesting to read and had awesome photographs. Some of the world records were surprising and shocking. I liked it, but I wish it had more world records! It was a fast and easy read for me, but it's a Level 2 easy reader and good for kids if they're interested in world records regarding food.
I gave this book five stars because it had a lot of crazy things in it. My favorite thing that I learned is that "the record for the most canned drinks opened by a parrot was 35 in 1 minute" and I also really liked when we learned that this guy smashed 43 watermelons into pieces with his head.
Fun facts about record breaking food from around the world. The text is on the more difficult side for developing readers, but the subject will inspire them to work really hard at it.
Hadn't heard of this, so when I started reading it, found it most interesting when they tell of records made of all kinds of food: Most expensive hot dog, largest grilled cheese. Fun food facts that I never would have thought of. Good to read with kids.
My son found this book mind-blowing with awesome facts about world records that dealt with food. It includes the weight of food, size, dollar amount, and more, including some people who hold world records for consuming the most food (hot dogs, etc.) It was very interesting and fun to read!
