POOKIE’S MOM proposes a lively dance together. Pookie, being Pookie, is somewhat hesitant to try something new. But little by little, Pookie is drawn into the dance—hopping, marching, shimmying, singing. Presented in Boynton’s captivating style, this book will thoroughly delight toddlers and their caregivers alike.

A fun book that makes you move. It made her cry from beginning to end. The hysterical cry where she turns red and pops the eardrum of anyone nearby. Perhaps not her favorite. Maybe Footloose will be her favorite movie growing up.
Read to my son when he was one month and one day old. He looked a little concerned about where this one was going. I suspect it will be a favorite down the road though.
I got another little pookie book for my birthday. My parents know I like to read so they think this is appropriate. I read it out loud to pingus, we loved it.
Let’s Dance Little Pookie is a fictional children board book, about a mother pig who goal, is to get her son Pookie to dance. The mother uses various instructions and items to get Pookie to dance, that is easy to do for young children. The author/illustrator uses different fonts to types and color to express the action of the word. The illustrations match the mean and dynamic of the words. My daughter loves this book it very short, and she acts out all the action that Pookie does she make me read after we finish longer books. As a parent, I don't see why my 3-year-old daughter so interested in the book. She was the one who picked it maybe it was the images. Maybe your child will like it to my daughter would give it 5 stars.
Jack borrowed this book from the Oxford Public Library. We're working our way through all the Sandra Boynton books.
Since Jack was a bit fussy between lunch and nap, I pulled out his library books — to great success! He's really into pigs right now, so he was delighted to see Pookie and make pig noises. He didn't exactly dance with her, but he ran around the living room doing monkey arms and wiggling his booty, so I think that counts.
Sandra Boynton is the best. Just adorable illustrations, cute stories, and fun to read, both for adults and their kiddos. This one is fun to read and to play dance with your littles afterwards, just like pookie and mommy.
I checked this one out for my grandson, who owns one of the other Pookie titles so is familiar with the character. He had me repeat read it. He is too young to really quite get into the "doing" of the participatory story, but it will come.
A silly little ditty that's charming enough, though I could see getting bored or annoyed by it over time, especially as kids age and they want to dance and march with it.
We own several Boynton books so I was surprised when my 3 year old was not interested in this book. I thought it was a fun and interactive story that would get him up and moving.
“Let’s Dance, Little Pookie” includes short, fun rhymes appropriate for littles! I acted them out (well, danced them out), and I was stared at the entire time. So, it’s definitely engaging!
