The best reference I have found yet for piping royal icing flowers. Other books touch on the subject, but this book is by far the best at outlining the most flowers, step-by-step, with each tip required listed and each ideal frosting consistency addressed. Not quite as great a resource for gumpaste and fondant flower making, but the subjects are there. Basically, any beginning cake decorator needs to buy this book. I use it every single time I pipe royal icing flowers, to remind me exactly what is required for that particular flower. Also, all of the cake projects in this book are incredibly beautiful yet really easy - so completetly gratifying and satisfying to a beginning cake decorator! The first time I made the cake on the cover, I was blown away that I had created something so pretty...that's when I was hooked!
Yes, Mindi, this is a good reference book for cake decorating. I have used this book a lot to make many cakes. Pretty ideas that aren't dated (as I recall).
