Rate this book
The Infinite Loop, a French Kickstarter-run project, begins its six issue miniseries run for a North American audience through IDW Publishing.

From IDW:
The Infinite Loop is a science-fiction series that asks the age-old question, “What would you risk for a chance at true love?” Meet Teddy, a young woman who lives in a faraway future where time traveling is a common practice and her job is to maintain the status quo by correcting time paradoxes. But when she meets Ano, “a time paradox” and the girl of her dreams, Teddy must decide between fixing the time stream or the love of her life, both of which have unique consequences.

Wasn't a huge fan of the artwork. I love the sci fi, female lead, and the adorable "meet cute" in the end. I can't wait to read the next issue.

This is a great graphic novel about love across the boundaries of time.

Teddy is a time traveller. She has to make sure that time terrorists do not alter the past because it would have dire consequences for the future.

And she does this by rectifying anomalies - things, objects, creatures that are in the wrong time - sending them back to their right time or destroying them.?She lives outside time, she is timeless and comes from a world in which people have given up hate and given up love.

Things are fine until she meets a woman and falls in love herself but this woman is an anomaly and Teddy is supposed to 'rectify' her.

This is a lovely story and a great graphic novel with great artwork and clear lettering and good colouring. The author has done a brilliant job of world building and creating the setting of the story through the pictures. It is just a very smooth and enjoyable read and really great to have a comic which features lesbians. It is not for children though and contains adult scenes.

The story shows what happens when everything is perfect. This is supposed to be a perfect society but that perfection is retained at the cost of diversity. There are no extremes in this society, everything has its place, everything is balanced but then what is lost?

It is a clever story and quite unique in the way it communicates messages about the need to value difference and the need to create space for love.

Great graphic novel and very enjoyable read.

A French comic about lady love and time travel? Yes, please.

Teddy is a time-traveler specializing in cleaning up anachronisms that threaten to break the infinite loop of time. Issue #1 shows her on the job sorting through historical items from several centuries

The panels and pages read very American-style (which Elsa Charretier also acknowledges in this interesting interview). The comic was crowd-sourced through Kickstarter and appears to have been a smash hit so far in France. I'll be signing up for the series for sure.

I fell into this series because of Comixology's Unlimited program and like it a lot. Time travel, a potential lady love interest on the horizon, all kinds of shenanigans hinted at, etc.? Let's go!

One criticism I have is that it feels like the reader gets dumped in to a story that's already started, like Teddy, the main character, has some kind of past that we should have known before she started going about in this first issue. Maybe we'll learn more about the alluded to alternate timeline Teddy that Ulysses, Teddy's techie backup, mentioned, and more about her job as a time anomaly rectifier in future issues.

I think I like this first issue. It feels like I’m missing crucial information about this time organization and these artifacts/anomalies and why they appear where they do. I was ready to be annoyed about the notion of emotions being primitive. I don’t believe a lack of love is what would create a better society but then she meets this mermaid girl person anomaly and was shook.

Also her guy friend likes her which was painfully obvious and awkward. I need more details about these folks trying to change the timeline. Looking forward to reading the next issue, unfortunately vol. 1 isn’t on hoopla.

DNF/Did Not Finish

The artwork is pretty cool... And that's about it.

The comic feels chaotic, the story has no subtlety, and though it is sold as a LGBTQ story (lesbian romance) it just felt very male-gazy and lacked any real connection between the characters. They are both one-dimensional: one is just badass and the other one is just hot.

The story telling was confusing in some spots, but I like the overall message.

Une histoire de boucles temporelles et de réalités alternatives avec un couple lesbien au centre du comic.
En annexe, un article intéressant sur les personnages LGBTQ dans les comics

Time travel, dinosaur, Star Wars reference, acknowledging just how dumb man is, and lesbians (I doubt the universe will actually give me a Bisexual character but I still have hope!). What more could a woman ask for?!

I need more comics like this one!

Right off the bat this was an interesting concept for me. And the LGBT factor is definitely a bonus! It's a great way to get me started on comics, graphic novels, etc.

very text heavy and the drawing is basic, but the story in intriguing and the travel aspect makes for very interesting cross panel work.
