He's a mess...

Asher Knight has three constants in his life: music, beautiful women, and a bottle of Jack. He lives for the next gig, the next city, and dreams only of a life spent in front of an arena full of screaming fans. But Asher's nomad ways come to a sudden stop when he learns he's the father of a three-year-old from a past relationship and suddenly this rock star bad boy is forced to put down roots.

Only she can clean up

Gloria Shields is no one's fool. Sure, the sexual chemistry between her and Asher has always been intense, but she'd never risk giving her heart to a man who has a perfect record for breaking them. Except the man desperate to make things right with his newfound son is nothing like the rock god she's guarded her heart against for years. And it isn't long before she starts to wonder if life with this bad boy might be the best thing that's ever happened to her.

***UPDATE*** A COVER! *runs around squealing with delight*

Hi Readers!

I'm going to try not to litter this post with exclamation points, but it might be challenging considering all I can think to type is ASHER!!! Yes, Evergreen Cove's visiting "rock god" is finally getting a book, and Gloria (after being a secondary character in The Millionaire Affair, Bringing Home the Bad Boy, Rescuing the Bad Boy, and A Bad Boy for Christmas) is finally getting to tell her story. She's sure not going to make it easy on him (or me), but I love Gloria, so I'm willing to fight for her!

I'm in the process of writing and editing this book right now, *and* I also have is a behind-the-scenes cover shoot of a super hunky guy who's on the cover. (YAY!) You can click here to see that super hunky photo shoot.

For the rest of you, be sure to add the book to your Goodreads page! Pre-order links are available now at your favorite booksellers, and you can find more insider information at my website or by signing up for my monthly newsletter by clicking here.

Confession Time. THIS IS MY FIRST BOOK THAT I HAVE READ FROM JESSICA LEMMON. I didn’t even know of the Second Chance Series. But thank goodness for Netgalley, because it allowed me to discover this new author and this series.

Return of the Bad Boy was sexy, sweet, and oh so sinfully addicting!!! Jessica Lemmon has whipped up a romance that will set hearts fluttering as a rockstar bad boy makes it known to the woman who walked away from him several years ago, that he wants her back and only her.

#ReturnofTheBadBoy

A bad boy rockstar who is an also an author of children’s book? My first immediate thought is that’s HOT!!! How could it not be when you have a bad boy rockstar who has sweet and nurturing side. Asher Knight is your quintessential rockstar that you can’t be making judgement and assumptions about. Yes, he ain’t no saint. But Asher Knight is a man who knows what he wants. And what Asher Knight wants is the feisty woman who he calls 'Sarge' aka Gloria Shields.

Gloria and Asher’s relationship can be summed up in one word. Complicated. They have a business relationship. She has feelings for him. But she knows that she should stay away. Don’t mix business and pleasure. And also he has a kid. But what Gloria didn’t expect was Asher Knight doesn’t take no easily. He makes it known to Gloria that this thing between them cannot be extinguished. It’s LOVE. And so can this bad boy knock down all the walls surrounding Gloria’s heart and show her that his heart and hers are intertwined as one and that they are fated?

What else can I say but I adore and love this book. Yes, it was my first Jessica Lemmon book but I can assure you it won’t be my last. The writing was clean and beautiful. Ms. Lemmon allowed her readers to FEEL. Feel the love and music surrounding Asher and Gloria’s heart. So if you are ready to fall in love with a bad boy who knows the lyrics to your heart, then I highly recommend you to read this book. And if that doesn’t urge you to read this book, then can I add there is an adorable pup and toddler who will steal your heart as well.

5 Stars !

Jessica Lemmon is a very talented author, she gives life to her characters in such an authentic way that, as a reader, I had the feeling to be a part of their story. Needless to say that I devoured this book ! Return of the Bad Boy is the fourth installment in the Second Chance series, a favorite trope of mine. It can be read as a standalone, the author does an excellent job at introducing all her characters. It was my first book by Jessica Lemmon but, after enjoying it so much, I have started reading her other books !

The hero of this story is Asher Knight, the childhood friend of Evan Downey and Donovan Pate, the heroes of previous installments in this series. I love how the characters are connected in some way or the other in this story.

Asher is an amazing character and he totally made me swoon ! A famous rock star and a single dad, he is also the author of children’s books featuring a badass bovine, named Mad Cow ! Asher is a sexy rock god with a very soft, sentimental side. He is the perfect match for Gloria Shields, the strong and sassy woman he loves from afar, who also happens to be his literary agent.

He wants to find his roots and be a good father to his 3-year-old son, Hawk. In order to be closer to his son and to his buddies, he has purchased a vacation home in the lakeside town of Evergreen Cove, where he used to spend his holidays as a child. Living in Evergreen Cove also gives him the opportunity to be closer to Gloria, and to try to win her back. Asher and Gloria are soulmates, their emotional connection runs very deep, but trust issues have separated them. Asher needs to convince his “Sarge”, the nickname he gives her for barking orders at him, that his manwhoring ways are over and that his home is with her and his son.

This book was a total winner for me. It was such a wonderful story that tugged at my heartstrings, with bright and genuine characters ! The sense of family and friendship is predominant in Jessica Lemmon’s books and I love it. I highly recommend this book and this author !

"Fated." "We were always fated to be, you were meant for me."

Ever since I read my first book by Jessica Lemmon, I've been going through her backlog. And even though I know she's well known for the Billionaire Bad Boys' series, trust me when I say that you need to read this series - make sure you read them in order, because it's so worth it. I'm in awe. That, and I'm feeling all the feels.

"Kissing Asher felt as if she were breaking curfew in clothes she’d had to keep hidden deep in her closet—her shortest skirts. Her tallest shoes."
Asher Knight... jeez, rock star, hot, sexy, and so much more. Even his name is absolutely awesome. But the awesomest thing about him is that he knows what he wants (even if that hasn't always been the case) and he's coming for it. Gotta love this guy!

"His strong, tough girl wasn’t used to anyone slaying dragons for her. She’d been doing it for herself for way too long."
I love Gloria. I think she's my favorite of all the leading women characters in Jessica's books (so far!), and I suppose that is because she is so much like me. She is used to fighting her own battles and being her own woman. She is so used to it she doesn't know how to let anyone in, and her confident, professional self is not the same as her self-conscious, always-thinking-she's-gonna-mess-up personal self. And so she pushes people away.

The other books give you clues as to Asher and Gloria's relationship, but here you get it in full. And it's so worth it - as I said, the feels. Their story draws you in, but getting them to the HEA? That's the rollercoaster ride I loved so much. She gives him a run for his money, and he doesn't back down. He stays.

“My God. You did it. You made me want it.”
For me, personally, this is a story about breaking down walls and barriers. His, hers, theirs. About realizing that after all is said and done, they belong together. As Fated as they can be.

This is the story of Asher and Gloria! A second chance romance among a rock star/chlidren's book author and his agent!

This is the fourth installment of the series Second Chance and the first book I read from Ms. Lemmon. On the good side, the writing was really beautiful! The story was moving in a nice pace and all issues were addressed and resolved in a non-magical way but with communication and actions! I really loved this part of this story! There was no big drama, misunderstandings or tons of self-doubting, but there were two persons with lots of issues that needed to be resolved before their HEA.

On the negative side, although this is part of a series, it was mentioned that it can be read as a stand-alone. Unfortunately I felt kind of lost during the first chapters. I didn't know which parts of the past history of Gloria and Asher were already mentioned in the previous books and therefore weren't so developed in this one or how Ash was a bad boy when he looked so quite to me. Suddenly Asher was found with a son but I didn't know how this happened and if it was already mentioned before. So, I felt like I missed a part of the story.

Gloria is a woman in her thirties with a lot of issues because of her past. I totally love her! First of all I love the fact that she has already a career and she is an adult with brains! Gloria has issues but she knows them and she tries to deal with them in her way! She is also honest with the people around her and with herself! Amazing personality!

Asher used to be a bad boy but I didn't see it. All that I saw was a man in his thirties that is willing to take responsibility for a son that was hidden from him. Asher is warm and he has a magic way always to say the right thing on the right moment! He also knows how to fight for the ones he cares about without hiding his heart! I love him too! He is just fantastic!

The interactions among the heroes were really nice! Their conversations had depth and nothing was light about them!

The end of the book was so beautiful and sweet! It was a great closure to a beautiful love story!

I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves a true romance but I will strongly suggest you to read the previous books of the series first. I'm sure that this book would have been so much better if I knew everything that took place before it!

3 - "No more whiskey for me..." Stars!

This is the second book I have read by this author, the first one didn’t really blow me away, and Return of the Bad Boy definitely falls into the 'didn’t love it, didn’t hate it' category.

I think my main issues were the on/off relationship between Ash and Glo, in that it was all over the place for most of the book. But you can tell that Jessica has built a great world of characters and stories around the town of Evergreen Cove, Ohio, and I wonder if I would have been better off starting my reading experience of the series at book one, and not diving straight in at this the fourth book.

Women came easy for him. Except for one woman in particular. The one woman he wanted.

Mainly because I think that reading the previous three novels would have given the depth to this couple and the past between them, and how they got to the point they are at, and in getting their story told, because a lot of the time I struggled to understand why either of them were really looking to try and build a relationship with each other. But you can tell from the get-go that this isn’t the start of the relationship between them moving from colleagues to partners, and it would appear that events two years previously, as well as in the prologue for this book, have had a massive impact in the way their relationship currently stands, and especially Gloria who, abandonment issues aside, is reluctant to go back down the road to romance with Asher.

Getting her into his bed was one thing. Getting her to stay was another.

I liked Ash, sweetly persistent, he didn’t really hit the 'Bad-Boy' category for me, more mis-understood and in the wrong place at the wrong time, I hated the whole 'Baby-momma' drama, but that isn’t a surprise as I always hate drama with ex’s in my books, especially as this woman could barely be classed as an ex, and is everything abhorrent any self-respecting woman would consider likeable.

"Not letting you go, so you may as well stop fighting me."

I find myself on the fence again, as I was with my previous read from this author in that although I sort of enjoyed Return of the Bad Boy I had enough niggles with it that I can’t say it really made me want to look into reading more from her at this point. I know I am in the minority (again) with my feelings, but hey you cannot please all the people all the time. I certainly wouldn’t discourage others from reading Ash and Glo’s story; it just didn’t do a whole lot for me.

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Return of the Bad Boy was not an easy romance, these characters have history and a lot of it is volatile, but they also can't deny the pull between them. I loved every minute of this complicated, emotional, sweet and very, very sexy story. It was really hard reading this book knowing it was the last in the exceptional Second Chances series, but Jessica Lemmon takes this series out on a high note giving resident rock god Asher Knight and Gloria "Sarge" Shields their much earned and much deserved happily ever after.

From the first moment Asher walked on the page in book one, I was hooked. I loved his swagger, his cockiness and his attitude, but it was also easy to see there was a sweet side to him in the way he related to his friends. Throughout this series we saw him grow and change and I think a lot of that could be contributed to his fascination and on again/off again relationship with his book agent, Gloria, but some of it also due to the wake-up call that comes when he finds out that he fathered a child with a groupie. Who would have thought underneath all that rock star bad boy persona was a sweet man who is an amazing dad?

Two things can be said about Gloria she is as strong and self sufficient and she refuses to need anyone for anything. So while I admire her for those traits, they are also keep her closed off to relationships of any kind. Just when she was beginning to really feel something for Asher, an incident sent her reeling and despite the fact that he was innocent, she refused to allow him back into her world.

It was like these two switched places in this book in the way they approached being together. We find Asher doing everything in his power to prove to Gloria they are good together and she just can't let go and trust what they have. She sees the changes in Asher, she admires his devotion to his son and she approves of the changes he's making in his life but oh...trusting him is another issue. Asher worked his a$$ off and at times I got frustrated with Gloria, but when the layers were peeled back and we saw the pieces of her life that molded her, it was easier to understand the woman she has become. What I loved is that Asher never wavered in his pursuit and he refused to let her push him completely out of his life no matter how hard she tried.

One area these two did not have trouble communicating or trusting was physically and man did these two burn up every surface they touched. I loved how they pushed each other, how they were willing to try new things and most of all how worn out they were each and every time...whew!!

From the first book to the last we've had the pleasure of watching these two together and so it was fitting that all of the other characters were very much present in this story and in fact rooting for them or offering support when they needed. I loved this book so much, but in honesty it is because this series has been superior from the start and it just never let up. Return of the Bad Boy was magical because not only did it wrap up a romance that has been brewing throughout four books, but it ended what has been a superior series by an author I highly recommend.

5 "Do this thing with me." Stars

Return of the Bad Boy is another excellent installment in Jessica Lemmon's Second Chance Series. The fourth bad boy, the rock star of the group returns to Evergreen Cove after some life-altering news rocks his existence. He and book agent Gloria Shield get the second (maybe 3rd or 4th) chance to have each other in a way neither was prepared to have. Another awesome second chance story in Lemmon's lovely third person writing style.

Having read this book in an afternoon span there's no denying that Lemmon's characters and story telling catch you and grip you hard not releasing until the end. The story of Asher Knight, rock star/manchild, and the love of his life Gloria Shields, book agent extraordinaire, is a complex and fickle thing. Both of them have maturing to do, growing into each other to do, forgiveness to explore. One with a tumultuous past and the other a chaotic present Asher and Gloria compliment each other in the best ways. Their bantering and fighting are on of my favorite parts of them together because it releases their passion and chemistry so strongly. You could feel the connection between these two in the books that came before theirs and you feel it every word of the way in this book.

All of the characters from Evergreen Cove make many appearances throughout Return of the Bad Boy. As friends their supportive and funny to Asher and Gloria and are perfect examples of how love can be so right. This story held me captivated from beginning to end. As I said in the previous books review: Jessica Lemmon's contemporary romance stories are just really good for the reading soul. There's nothing better than being engrossed in glorious writing and a simple, lovely love story.

As with the other books in this series Return of the Bad boy can definitely be read as a stand alone although my recommendation is to dive head first into the series from the start. You won't regret meeting all of the characters this series has to offer. Published by Forever, the series is a great example of the great love stories Forever consistently gives us. It's low on angst but high on sweet romance with the story centering around the couple growing and working through their issues with chemistry that's off the charts.

Second Chance Series:
Book 1: Bringing Home the Bad Boy
Book 2: Rescuing the Bad Boy
Book 3: A Bad Boy for Christmas

Coffee dates with Return of the Bad Boy

First Date: We have witnessed Asher and Gloria’s on again off again romance since the beginning and I could not wait to begin this first date. Asher is a sexy rocker and children’s book writer. He was a huge playboy until Gloria. Gloria believes Asher cheated on her with a groupie, but Asher denies being with any other woman when they were together. Asher wants Gloria in his life, but a series I complications have prevented him from pursuing her. There is no denying the chemistry between them and I desperately want them to have their HEA. The ride is about to get rocky, because Asher knows exactly what he wants….and Gloria is a skittish deer.
Second date: Complications, sexy sweet moments and push and pull between these two make up our second date. Asher is making an effort to show Gloria how he feels. Gloria has had a rough go of it, and has built walls to protect herself. Seeing Asher chip away at those walls kept me flipping the pages. Lemmon brought the heat and did not bat an eye at melting my kindle. It was frustrating  watching these two at times. I seriously thought about leaving them stranded out on the water for a few hours. Despite Gloria’s fears it is evident to everyone these two are fated. Secondary characters, puppies and a cute three-year-old added interest and updated us on earlier couples.
Third date: Asher is not perfect and seeing him make decisions and discover how much more he wants from life –a life he wants for himself, Gloria and his son made me swoon. Jordan the baby mama created some issues. Asher’s reaction to them only made me fall harder. The man is sexy and classy. Gloria has reached the point where she wants to believe and we begin to see her hope. I loved this last date. Seeing Gloria blossom not just with Asher but opening up to her girlfriends and the Cove just made me smile. I ended this date in a happy place despite being sad that this series has reached its end.

Rock star Asher Knight has just learned he has a 3-year old son by the woman who derailed his relationship with his agent, Gloria Shields. He's back in Evergreen Cove to establish a relationship with his son and hopefully get the one with Gloria back on track. But she's a big commitment challenge and he's got his work cut out for him.

Both Asher and Gloria are fascinating characters, she especially. Gloria's tough, highly skilled and an infamous loner. I was looking forward to getting inside her head and the story didn't disappoint here. Her backstory explained everything and I felt I got her. I also liked that she made Asher, the infamous manwhore, work really, really hard for her, which I normally would find tiresome but not this time.

Where the story broke down for me was when it didn't stay true to the character. The whole storyline involving Brice just didn't make sense. Gloria would have figured him out before he opened his mouth. Also, there was a lot she and Asher needed to resolve but every interaction devolved into a sexual encounter...over and over again. Too much for my sensibilities and they both were much too interesting to sacrifice story for sex.

I also liked how much Asher and Gloria's friends were a significant part of this story. The baby mama drama, however clichéd, was painfully realistic. I just would have enjoyed the story much better with a lot less sex and more substance. 3.5 stars

Lemmon is back with my favorite bad boys and oh yes Asher is just yummy! If you read the previous books you know already that Asher doesn't have the best reputation. He's a rock star and children's book author but now he is ready to put down roots since he found out he has a 3 year old son.

Gloria dated Asher 3 years ago but that ended badly. Now it's only a business/friends relationship with an hookup here and there but once she starts seeing the changes in Asher she starts thinking that just maybe they could have a chance but she needs to realize her issues and slay her own dragons along the way.

I loved how Gloria was independent and hard as nails when she needed to be but as I kept reading this story I loved the softer side of her as well. Asher's character felt like night and day. You can see how much he loves her and they connect. I love how he wants to fight for her and believes in her. These two had some really great tension and chemistry with even hotter sex scenes.

I get that Asher's baby's mother (Jordan) had to be apart of this story but it really annoyed me she was so juvenile and acted like it for majority of the book. I would have liked to see Lemmon use her in trying to get Asher back to be a family with them and causing a more of a problem in the relationship between Asher and Gloria.

Some of my favorite parts of the book was when the group was hanging out. I really enjoyed how they all got along and gave each other advice. The bachelor and bachelorette scene was pretty cute and it kind of reminds me of when that happened to my friends. I mean how does anyone know sometimes they would end up the same place as the other party:-)

The end ends up having a epilogue which makes it seem like it's the end of the series but I truly hope this isn't the last book. I would love to continue to check in with these characters at some point just to see how they are all settled in their HEA.

Overall I finished this book and wanted more. Asher was funny, sexy and had this sweetness about him. It had some humor and some emotional parts but I loved every moment of this read. Definitely one of my favorite series to date!

I am sad to see this series end. That said, I loved the way it finished up. Asher and Gloria. Asher. I can understand why she has such a hard time staying away from him, even with him drinking that awful smoothie.

Minor Spoilers if you haven't read the first books....

Asher finally grows up. He was heading on this path, but in the first 3 books, he really is the one of the guys who is still a player, living life to the fullest. But, and I can't remember who said it (Evan??) when one of the guys tells Asher that having a kid really makes you want to be better, he is totally right. Asher wants to be better. Asher finally understands that in order for him to get the woman he wants, he needs to be the best man he can be. She isn't going to trust any less.

The writing, pacing and dialog, as always with Jessica Lemmon's books, are all wonderful This was a joy to read and I am so sad to see it end.

Another thing I loved is how present all of the characters were in this story. Not enough to be distracting, but enough like you really feel the connection that is shared with all of them and this gives a great depth to the story.

Read this...although, I would read the first 3 as they are all good. :)

Return of the Bad Boy by Jessica Lemmon is sexy, intense, and worth the read. The characters are well-developed, the story is well-written, and the cover is freaking hot!

Under the term “bad boy” Asher Knight should be listed at the very top. This bad boy is hard to resist! Asher can have any woman he wants and frequently does, but when he and Glo get closer than they should, flames erupt and there is no stopping them…until one of Asher’s groupies comes between them. From this point on it’s all tension between Asher and Glo and Glo pushes Asher away.

Asher might have let Gloria go for a while, but he’s making his intentions known. He wants her back in his life and for her to stay there. Asher sees Gloria for who she is. He gets her. The love they feel for each other is very real, but can they put the past behind them and work toward their future?

I really enjoyed Glo and Asher’s story and can’t to read what’s next from this author. Return of the Bad Boy gets 4.5 sexy stars!

This is my second book by Jessica Lemmon and I just don't think we are a good mix. I enjoyed the storyline-reformed bad boy becomes a good man and his scenes with his little boy are very sweet. I did wonder why he didn't demand a custody agreement in the beginning. I also found the sexual aspects of the book very well written and super hot. Gloria and Ash worked very well together in bed (or against a wall, bent over a desk, ...you get the picture) But I had issues with the heroine. Perhaps if I had started this series at the beginning I would have had a better understanding of the hero and heroine but as it was, I found the heroine annoying and exhausting. All she does is fight the hero and send very mixed signals. She's a runner and while her childhood certainly more then explains her need to run, it was more her attitude and the fact that she couldn't admit when she was wrong. She knew when she was wrong but to admit it meant she had to face it. She was bitchy 90% of the time and not in an amusing way. :(

I've been waiting for Gloria's and Asher's book for what seems forever ever since book one to be accurate. So I was really, really, really looking forward to this one. And let me tell you something it was totally worth wait, exceeding my expectations. This book was just wow. It was so good. It was awesome. And made me really fall in love with hero, Asher Knight. I thought I was intrigued with him before, but once this book began I was doubly intrigued. I thought I liked Asher before but it was nothing compared to this. I freaking fell in love with the man that I was practically drooling over him. He was my favorite out of the series and that's saying something because I was in love with Evan Downey in book one, but Asher took the cake. Yummy.

I could go on and on about the book and Asher and my loves for both, but I will just try to highlight.

First off everything about this book was freaking perfect. Not a single misstep. I didn't have a single gripe. I enjoyed it from page one all the way from page one to the last one. I was just so engrossed that I didn't want to put it down. And I didn't finishing it in one day. It never drag, but I did read it slowly to savor its yummy goodness. I devoured it. I will definitely be reading this book again in the future and multiple more times. This will be added to my favorites list.

Another thing I really enjoyed were that past players from the other books were there and more than just in a fleeting way without taking away the fact this was the love story between Asher and Gloria. In fact they were prominent players and big supporters of Asher and Gloria being together. They were big cheerleaders and encouraged the couple closer so they could get their happily ever after. I really enjoyed see that and just the characters in general. It was nice to catch up with them and see them as in love as ever. It was sweet and hot to see the couples interact. And I loved the roles they played in the story. Part of me wanted to see more of their times as happy couples in private moments. That was just done really well and I happy that they were part of the story too.

I loved the intense connection between Asher and Gloria. There was always more than meets the eye to this couple, which originally was just about being hot between the sheets and nothing more. Then the incident happened in book one, which tore them apart and causing damage and hurt to each of them. If this was just a physical relationship they wouldn't have reacted they way they did especially Gloria and let it effected them three years later when this book took place. There was lots of emotions going on all those years apart. Lots of friction and tension going on until they had to confront it head on and boy did they. It was there that they wanted each other and had this tense connection but really didn't know what to do because this was uncharted territory for both of them. Plus she didn't want to get hurt like she did last time so she pushed him away. But as much denial was going on there was more pulling them together. It was like they were getting reeled in and just got closer and closer until there was nothing to do but given in. I really enjoyed seeing that struggled to get to the point where they could be a happy couple. I liked see them come closer on every different level while dealing mainly Gloria's trust issues as well as her willingness to let some in to see all of her. It was battle that I enjoyed witnessing. And it made them that much stronger as a couple. I liked it wasn't easy for them and developed this real strong basis of a relationship that was based on love and their emotional connection instead of just a physical one.

But the physical connection between them was pretty darn good. Fantastic in fact. They had chemistry in spades and it was so delicious. It was hot. It was sexy. It was steamy. It was passionate. At times it was tender and emotional. And most of all it showed their connection in every way possible because they scenes said so much without words. I could feel what Gloria and Asher were feeling and I am not just talking about the physical pleasure. It was so much more than that. It was a way they connected and spoke of their empty when the couldn't speak the words. Each love scene had a purpose and a meaning to them in order to show how much closer and closer they were becoming. It was very beautiful and meaningful and very eye opening.

What surprised me the most though were how many sexy scenes they had. Cripe. They sure were hot for each other a lot. Not that I was complaining. I enjoyed every single scene in every little bitty detail. I did drool a bit I'll admit. But even though there were a lot of steamy scenes, it wasn't too much or over done. Like I said every scene had their purpose and brought them closer to a meaningful relationship. Every single one. Out of the entire series, this one had the most scenes by far and all of them were really good. I mean really gone. My pulse rate raised and my temperature rose just like Asher and Gloria's did. They were like rabbits and I loved it. I can't even pinpoint a favorite because they were all so good for various different reasons. They just had awesome chemistry and an awesome connection. Bottom line they were just hot together.

Another love of this story was Daddy Asher. He made me swoon and heart melt. If there was yet another reason to love this man this was it. I loved seeing him as daddy. He was so adorable. So sweet and loving towards Hawk that it made my heart soar. I loved all his interactions with Hawk and how he was trying to make up for lost time and be a good dad. And he was a good dad. All he wanted aside from Gloria was to spend more time with his child. I loved the scene where he was in the lake with Hawk and being the gentle dad that he was. Talk about swoon. I also loved Hawk. He was just such a sweet loving kid who was unsure of Asher at first then began warming up to Asher and form that bond of father and son. I loved seeing that bond played out on the pages. It was really beautiful.

This book was my favorite bar none of the entire series. Sorry as much as I loved Evan and Charlie and their story, Gloria and Asher really took the cake. I loved them as a couple and as individuals especially Asher, who I am absolutely in love with. He was hot and sexy yet very kind and tender to the ones he loved. This book was worth the wait and I am so glad that it was. I would have sorely been disappointed if this was no less than excellent after all this time wait. But this book just blew my mind and it'll one of favorites of all time. Honestly I want more. More of Gloria and Asher especially but really all the couples. I wonder if there'll be more in this series. I hope so, though it will probably be hard to leave up to the greatness of this book, but I still want more. We will see. Nothing but glowing reviews for this one as well as nothing but love.

Highly recommend this book for romance fans who like hot, sexy, steamy reads that has lots of heart. Because there was lots of heart in this book as well as intensity and real connection that just grew within the coarse of the book. Lots of yummy love scenes to go around. Loved this one.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

YES! FINALLY! Asher and Gloria. Jessica teased us throughout this series and I was itching to get my hands on this book. I wanted an epic story and I wasn't disappointed. I mean, I already loved him going in, but then seeing him with his son (so cute!) and his adorable dog just made me love him so much more. The dog! I won't give anything away because I think the less you know, the better, but I definitely reached out to the author to be like, "YES! Thank you!"

Asher and Gloria have been circling each other for a long time. It's clear they have feelings for one another and they have even acted on those feelings. These two have a history and Gloria feels as though she can't trust him. But after Asher has a heart to heart with Charlie (yay Charlie!) he realizes that if her wants Gloria, he is going to have to pursue her. So he does. And let's just say he is REALLY good at it.
“Listen, Asher”—she cleared her throat and tore her eyes away from his biceps, which were absolutely delicious and testing the limits of his T-shirt in the most distracting way possible—“I don’t know what you think you’re doing—”

“No, you listen.” He palmed her hip much like Brice had earlier, but unlike Brice, when Asher touched her, her nipples perked up and every inch of her grew warm. Asher’s nearness, one hand gripping her firmly as he looked down at her with dark hunger in his eyes, was so hot she couldn’t think.

The crowd milling around them were having loud, drunken conversations, so he lowered his face to her ear to speak.

“I’m coming for you, Sarge.” His hand moved from her hip to her lower back, his fingers splaying wide and slipping beneath the material of her shirt. “Bet you’ve never had anyone come for you, have you?” His nose moved along her ear, warm breath tickling her skin. “Bet you were a rebellious teen with a nose ring and a bad attitude and all you wanted was to feel good.”

No nose ring, but the rest was scarily accurate.

“Well, guess what, honey?” he continued, his fingertips sizzling on her bare skin. “I’m going to make you feel good. I’m the only one who can.”

He pulled his face away and she had to will her mouth to close. Her teeth clacked together as her brain scrambled to figure out what part she should argue with first. Wrenching a fist around his T-shirt, she tugged him close. A small smile played on his mouth, and his hand went higher beneath her shirt. He was anticipating a kiss, but she wasn’t going to kiss him.

“Listen up, you arrogant bastard.” Anger vibrated through her arms and a charge shot from her toes to the crown of her head. “You don’t get to claim me. I’m not your property. I can do whatever I want.” Because she wanted to wipe that stupid smirk off his face, she added, “And I can do whomever I want.”

His lips flinched, but he didn’t back away, stepping even closer and touching the tip of her nose with his. Her vision was now swimming in dark hair, dark eyes, and the sexiest smirk she’d ever seen.

It’s not sexy. It’s stupid, remember?

But it wasn’t. And the rest of her knew it. Her nipples tightened, her body tingled, and the hand she’d wrapped around his shirt began to sweat…

“You do me, Sarge. No one else,” he said.

I mean....COME ON!! The sexual energy between these two just rolls off of them in waves and as a reader I love that. Because I knew once they finally get together it will be AMAZING.

Of course it is not an easy road to their happily ever after. While Gloria has settled into Evergreen Cove and considers the quaint little town to be her new home, at first Asher sees it as a part time home. He has a place in California and that's where his band is stationed, but now Asher has a three year old son. A son that he did not know about until recently. So not only is Asher going after Gloria, he is also learning to be a father while dealing with baby mama drama. The longer he sticks around, the more he realizes that maybe he should reconsider that whole "part time home" thing. Unfortunately for him, Gloria doesn't know how she fits into this new life and she is holding onto her own baggage that makes her think that a family isn't in the cards for her. And getting involved with Asher means she gets an instant family!

So things are complicated, luckily they have the rest of the gang for support! They provided much needed pep talks and helped Asher and Gloria make sense of their crazy relationship. And who better to do that than the three couples we have all grown to love? And I loved that Donovan was the voice of reason multiple times. He wouldn't have been my first choice, but he had some very wise words for both of them, at very different stages of their relationship. Those were some of my favorite moments in the book. Well, my favorite non Asher and Gloria sexy times moments. ;-)

I'm a little sad that this series is over, but I look forward to seeing what Jessica comes up with next!

Return of the Bad Boy
Second Chance series book #4
Release Date: April 26, 2016

I'm not gonna beat around the bush here...I love this series! From the first page in book #1, I've been utterly captivated! I almost had to take a step back when I opened this book. I wanted to read it desperately, but I wanted to make it last at the same time. Crazy? Perhaps!

I fell in love with Asher Knight from the very moment he walked onto the page in the first book. He's a rockstar, and Lawd, I have a weakness for those! He was hot, sweet, cocky, and swoon worthy. But I wanted to smack him sometimes too! He's bloody arrogant and had a whole lot of growing up to do. With each book in the series, you get to witness his growth and maturing. It was a journey to be sure. I felt the burning between Asher and Gloria from the beginning. And by time we finally have their book...holy hell! Smouldering and delicious are accurate descriptions of when they come together. Asher and Gloria are passionate...in bed and out. I was absolutely amused by their bickering. Asher loves to get her all riled up. This usually leads to some yummy sheet yoga!

Gloria is strong and independent. These two things are almost a detriment to her. Don't get me wrong, they are fantastic qualities. Gloria clutches to them like a security blanket. She was let down in the worst way as a child. She didn't have anyone in her corner. So, in her adulthood, she's learned that she can only depend on herself. Asher wants to be her soft place to land. He has to work hard to prove to her that he can be that. It was hard to watch these two wade through the murky waters and find their footing. In the past, I thought Asher needed a good shake, but now I struggled with wanting to throttle Gloria. Ash has stepped up to be a good man and be an involved father to a child that he only recently found out about. He's pretty much sliced open his heart for Gloria, but she was so wishy washy...and scared. It was because of her fear and heartbreak that I softened towards her. I wanted her to find the love and security that she wanted and needed. I was in her corner.

There's some great and delicious heat throughout the series. But this book? This book definitely had a spicer feel to it. And sweet baby Jesus...I loved it! Asher has a wicked tongue, with his sweet nothings, and well...with uh, other stuff too! The love scenes were explosive! I expected nothing less. These two characters have personality in spades, so of course it bleeds over to the bedroom.

This book was a journey. Watching these two grow so much from book #1 to book #4, was incredible. I didn't like Gloria much at the beginning. She was too much of a ball buster, and Asher was a bit of a teenager at times. But I was wrong. They just needed time and certain circumstances before they could be who they were meant to be. Ms. Lemmon blew me the hell away with this one. Dare I say, this is the best in the series?! Well, in my opinion it is. All the books in the Second Chance series are out of this world, but Return of the Bad Boy just grabbed at my heart and wouldn't let go.

You get to visit with the gang from past books. I love seeing where everyone is after their HEA. I have fallen hard for everyone. I'm invested in their stories. Visiting the Cove again was like coming home. I recommend starting at the beginning of the series for the best enjoyment. That's my not so subtle way of saying that you should buy the whole freakin' series and fall in love with this small town and the people in it!

Review:
“Sex. Closeness. It was the only way to capture a man like Asher. He was like smoke. You could hold him in your hands for a limited time, then he’d slip from your fingers.”

4 bad boy stars! Nothing sexier than a bad boy rock star….and Asher Knight is just that!

Asher Knight is your typical bad boy rock star. He lives for his music, hot women and Jack, Daniels that is. He lives for the next concert and the fans screaming for him. But his fast lifestyle comes to an abrupt stop when he finds out he’s the father of a three year old son. Gloria and Asher always had explosive chemistry, but she’s not ready to let him back into her life after breaking hers and a million other girls along the way. But the Asher she sees now, is not the rock God, it’s a man wanting to fight for his son. And as she sees him in a new light, she starts to wonder if she can let him back into her locked up heart after all. Or will he just let her and their son down, like he’s done in the past?

I love a good rock star book and this one is so much more!! There’s the bad boy rock star, yes, but there’s a story and heart involved. Once he breaks down his tough exterior and you get to the good stuff, he’s an amazing man! I loved Gloria and her no nonsense attitude, she puts Asher in his place and rightfully so! I loved this book so much more than I thought I would. I would definitely recommend this to others!!

Return of the Bad Boy was one where I literally stopped everything else I was reading and picked this up......and proceeded not to put it down again until finished.

For anyone who has read this series since the beginning with Bringing Home the Bad Boy there has always been Gloria and Asher. These two characters proceeded to dance around the edges of the other books in the series, while the other couples were getting their happily-ever-afters, and I was so happy when Jessica Lemmon announced she would write a book for Gloria and Asher.

They haven't had the best time of it between them. And it's been three years since they first hooked-up in Bringing Home the Bad Boy, and three years since everything went in a downward spiral as well. They can't completely avoid one another because (regardless that Gloria is Asher and Evan's agent), they are so drawn to one another it's crazy.

The chemistry between Glo and Asher literally leaps off the page. The whole book is full of super hot moments between these two as they try to work through their hang ups and finally decide if they can make it work. I mean it Super. Hot.

We learn a lot about Gloria's past. Not that we haven't gotten little tidbits in previous books, but to see the true vulnerability she has underneath her tough-as-nails exterior was eye opening for her character.

Asher, too, is struggling with learning to be a father. It's a role he takes on whole-heartedly and I loved that even with that huge thing going on in his life, he includes Gloria in it all. I've read stories before where one person is a single parent, or newly single parent, and it always seems to cause a lot of tension with their significant other. Not that caring for a person is easy by any means, but I liked the way Jessica Lemmon tackles this storyline.

I think my only tiny, minor complaint (if you can even call it that) is there are some things mentioned in the book, that I would have liked to see a bit more resolution on. I'm not going into details because of spoilers, but I'm not too worried because it seems like Jessica Lemmon's characters like to pop up in her other series (I am of course talking about characters from her Love in the Balance series), so I'm hoping something like that could happen. Also, I don't think leaving readers wanting more is necessarily a bad thing. In many cases it signifies that the characters and series are much liked.

Overall, I think if you've been waiting, like me, for Gloria and Asher's story you won't be disappointed. While you could pick this book up without having read the others, I think it's definitely one that is most appreciated when you've read the series from the beginning and have seen where everything kind of starts. This is a really good, strong series anyway so I don't think there would be any qualms about starting from the beginning.

When I first started this story I was worried that not having read the previous books in the series might make me feel as though I was missing too much to enjoy the story. It was clear that there was a past between the two main characters, Asher and Gloria, that had been told in those previous books. But the premise of the book was so good and the author started off on just the right note for me to want to keep going and find out.

I am so happy that I did. This was a fantastic story and if anything, I am now determined to go buy the other books so that I can see how this all began.

Asher was a truly entertaining leading man. He has just recently discovered that he has a son with a woman he had a one-night stand with from his past. Despite the fact that he doesn’t want a relationship with his son’s mother, he does want to be a part of his son’s life. I found this very endearing and it opened up the door to my love for Asher. That love just continued to grow as I read his interactions with his son and his friends and especially with Gloria. He may have gotten frustrated with her closed off and dismissive behavior in regards to what was between them, but he didn’t give up. Gloria had good reason for her pulling away and the way that she treated Asher. She has experienced so much loss and betrayal by the people who should have been there for her in the past that she doesn’t trust anyone to stick around now. While there were times that I wanted to scream at her to stop being so stubborn and to let Asher in, I really understood why she was the way she was. And when it counted, she was there for the people she cared about.

This was a very good story and I look forward to not only going back and reading about the characters that started the series but also hope to read more stories about some of the other characters that have yet to find their happily-ever-after.

OMG Finally!!! I have been waiting for Asher and Gloria's story and boy it did not disappoint. Although this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone - as always though, I recommend reading this entire series because it's just that great.

Asher Knight is the typical rockstar. He live a life of plenty... including women. Gloria Shields is his agent and the sexual tensions and chemistry between these two is through the roof. She's spunky, sassy, full of fire and everything that Asher wants - and that scares him and Gloria even more. Asher has disappointed Gloria before. Their three year pull is getting harder and harder to ignore and now that Asher is living in the Cove part time, Gloria can't ignore him forever.

Becoming a father overnight has changed Asher. Being surrounded by friends who are married and starting to raise family has altered the view of his own life. It's time to stop playing games and go after what he wants in life... and that includes Gloria. But will Gloria's past and insecurities put a halt to Asher's plans before they even get started?

LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. Asher is sexy, sweet, seductive and will leave you swooning. Gloria is feisty and ready for a fight ... the push and pull between these two is palpable. I loved every minute of it. 5 Rocking Stars for The Return of the Bad Boy.

I liked the man Asher was when he was with Gloria, “you make me an animal, sweetheart.” He bared his teeth. She kissed the underside of his chin." Asher is not a bashful man, "no boxers, so he was free and so hard and absolutely ready to go. “We need to get you on the pill, Sarge.” Her hands flattened on his shirt. He shoved his hands higher, cupping her bottom and moving her directly over him." I loved this book Asher was a good man.

This is the 4th book in this series, and I have to say I'm let down by this book. There was a lot of build up and I just felt like the factors that went into making the first 3 books so great was lacking in this book. I really enjoyed the dynamics of the characters and relationship development in the first three that this one was almost painful in comparison. There was little to enjoy about these characters.

I felt the chemistry was forced, mostly because there is so much angst. The back and forth "I love you/I hate you" that it was difficult for me to really get into the story... to really believe the characters felt it. The dynamics just didn't really work for me.

In the first couple books, Asher is made out to be broken or have problems that keep him from really taking a risk with Gloria. (Like she didn't deserve him) In this book it seems contradictory to that. He finds out he has a son (recently- as in after we hear he's got issues). So he sleeps around unapologetically and likes things that aren't necessarily good for him. That means you make bad decisions and don't care, doesn't make you broken. He comes from an amazing family, amazing friends... so I just didn't see what the problem was.

Gloria on the other hand, in the first couple books is supposed to be super confident, and spunky! In this, that seems to go out the window. Yes she has reason to have doubts, but it was so over the top.

In previous books, while characters had much to overcome, the little quirks and humor of the character made it worthwhile. While this book seemed to lack those moments that make the characters truly likable.

Overall, I would highly recommend the first 3 books! They are fantastic... I wish I could say this held up to the standard set by those!

The last installment in the Second Chance series sees bad boy rocker Asher Knight falling for tough as nails Gloria Shields. Their road to a HEA is fraught with issues and only adds to their growth and development as individuals and as a couple. As usual, Jessica Lemmon spins a lovely tale of love and acceptance, of taking chances and believing that we're all worthy of love. I would recommend reading the other three books in the series first but it's not a must.

Review:
There's something about rockstars and their bad boy image image that draws my attention to their story - maybe to find out if they are redeemable or if their images are a result of some poor choices and badly timed entrance in a room by an unexpected guest. In Return Of The Bad Boy, Jessica Lemmon brings back her duo couple that had been often seen in her previous Second Chances books in the series and delves in the possibility of Asher and Gloria getting back together once again. Not having had read any of the Second Chance novels before Return Of The Bad Boy, not meeting or learning the story of Asher and Gloria somewhat impacted my enjoyment - by that I mean returning characters and references to past events were lost on me unless they we're developed. But let me tell you that this bad boy story was unlike any other that I've read before - although Asher drowns his sorrows and his problems with the ever so popular Jack Daniels, the minute he realized he was a father, he didn't hesitate to step up to the plate and raise him as best as he can, all the while trying to convince Gloria that he's no longer the man he was when she left him. Jessica Lemmon creates one entertaining novel that shows readers that the past is redeemable - just because Asher made one major mistake that cost him the love of the woman he's always as his forever does not mean he wasn't willing to prove to her he's changed and ready to take the leap. Surprisingly, what I would have thought would be more erotic scenes between Asher and Gloria turned out to be more romantic and entrancing, aspects that truthfully I have often overlooked. Throughout a return Of The Bad Boy, Jessica Lemmon has done a remarkable job at making sure that new readers to her series don't feel too lost in the story and have a good idea on who is who without having to go back and read all the previous books.

book review: 4 “Sarge” stars!

"We were always fated to be, you were meant for me." - Fated -

The I thoroughly enjoyed it doesn’t even begin to cover how much I loved this book and the story it tells. A story that totally captured my heart and made me fall head over heels with the amazing and unforgettable Ashria (Asher + Gloria = Ashria ;) ). There ISN’T a thing that I didn’t love about the Return of the Bad Boy since Jessica Lemmon once again did her magic and created a love with a plot you can’t resist read and surrender to it.

His girl.

The story begins when Asher Knight, the lead singer of Knight Time, learns he is the father of a 3-year-old son who is the product of one of his one-night stands with one groupie of his. So, as the responsible and sensitive man Ash is, he does everything in his power to build a bond with his boy and became the best dad he could ever had. That’s why he goes to stay in the same town with him so he can be close and spend more time with him. And as fate always has it, he meets there the one woman he never forgot and never saw her as another knot in his belt; his agent, Gloria Shields, who manages his children-books’-author career and was, at one time, his girlfriend.

It was scary to see your future reflected in someone else's eyes.

The irony in their situation is that his son’s mother may was the reason Asher and Gloria broke up and had a long time to see each other, but his son was the one who brought them back together. And from there, they didn’t have any other choice but to thrive and create a world full of their love I couldn’t get enough!

"You won't take me down, Sarge. You're too busy standing up for me."

The chemistry which lives and breathes, not only between these two, but among every character in this book is simply amazing. I couldn’t run from it and I really didn’t want to because it gifted me with moments full of beautiful emotions that I will cherish. Everything was connected and blended together so carefully and lovely which made the book even more special.

And please tell me where I can find an Asher Knight for myself too! Because D A M N! He’s sooooo good. I died every time he was with his little boy and I drooled every time he was with Gloria. His actions was one with his heart. Each thing he did, it came from the deepest parts of his heart where his love for the two of the most important people in his life was living. His sensitivity, sweetness, thoughtfulness, hotness, kindness are only SOME of the incredible characteristics Asher is unleashing when he’s around those he cares about. I wish I could brag for hours about what did for each of those, but I don’t want to spoil the first time you are going to feel things I felt when I read him doing them.

"We are always a we. No matter what."

I have become really accounted with Jessica Lemmon’s writing and irresistible way of story-unfolding and after each book I read of hers, I become a witness of them getting even greater. Whoever hasn’t get s/his hands on her stories, what are you waiting for? She is one of the MUST authors for me and every time my hands get ownership of one of her books, every time I get really excited because I know, whatever she has written, it’s going to be really good and unique.

When Jessica Lemmon first introduced her bad boys of Evergreen Cove in Bringing Home the Bad Boy with Evan and his adorable boy, Lyon, and his late wife's b.f.f., Charlie... I knew this series was going to be a hit. And quite frankly, I was shocked because I, personally, couldn't quite get on her previous bandwagon and was shocked to find that Evan and Lyon were the Evan and Lyon in Kimber and Landon's book, The Millionaire Affair. With just that one book, with Evan, and Lyon, and Charlie, too, I was hooked on this small cabin town that these friends (...and the infamous Penis Bandits) grew up in, made friends in, and still came to visit (only to eventually place roots).

Each time a new book was announced, I was ready to pounce on it.

And then Jessica Lemmon further made me a die-hard fan by going all Sam Hunt on her Facebook group, which lead to Asher revelations, which in turn made me absolutely, positively sure I was going to lover Asher and Glo's story.

I mean, how could you not -- their story has been slowly burning behind the scenes since the beginning. Finally, it was time for them to explode.

Gloria and Asher had an intense attraction to one another, but one night at a mansion further exploded what was between them, leading into a three year relationship -- from there, though, everything fell apart.

"We are always a we..." -- Asher

Now, Asher's trying to make a seasonal home for him and his son in Evergreen Cove, all while working on band things, song writing things, and children's book career things that he and his buddies have embarked upon -- and these books sound freaking cute. Heroes named Swine Flu? A potential Cat Scratch Fever? How fun!

From the beginning of this book, the sexual tension and the romantic chemistry these two have simply jumps from the pages. You know, without a doubt, that these are two souls who will fit together just perfectly, even though there will definitely be rough moments in their journey.

What I loved the most about this book was how hard Asher fought for Gloria, even though he knew he couldn't offer her everything she wanted. He was well aware that him getting a groupie pregnant was the proverbial nail on their coffin, but he still craved Gloria's sassy attitude, her quick comebacks, and her fun wit -- and the soft, vulnerabilities she so rarely showed. Asher was just as strong of a hero as the previous three; Gloria was just as strong of a heroine as the previous three -- and this final, full and true relationship that ensues was just as beautiful, with just as many heartbreaking moments, as the previous.

Also of note... I love the nicknames these boys give their ladies. My favorites was definitely Scampi (and the added one at the end of that particular book). Asher is no different, calling Gloria "Sarge" because, as Glo says in monologue, Ash insisted she 'barked orders' at him whenever she had her 'agent' hat on -- because even when they're just Ash and Glo, she's still Sarge to him, and I loved it. And, as it's the last in this series (sad), we get to see everyone settled and together -- at least, settled and together while Asher and Gloria figure their schtick out. I adored all of the friends together -- even when there was grumbling about fireplaces.
