The Fae Guard #4

Saving Kendrix

Rate this book
Alysia

I’ve lived in shadows all of my life
Feeling empty, but never knowing what I was truly missing
I’ve been taught to hide my talents and be invisible
Until Kendrix walks into my life and sees me. All of me.
I know he is my destiny, but he is holding himself back
There is something he isn’t telling me
I’m afraid when the truth comes out, it will tear us apart

Kendrix

I made a choice to give up my soul and forever alter my destiny
I embraced abilities that I’d kept hidden
But they don’t make up for what I’ve lost
It seems a cruel trick of Fate that I finally met the one who was meant to be mine
And yet, I can never have her
My job is to deceive Alysia and ultimately, to give her up
But the darkness calls to me
Tempting me to hide in the shadows with her forever

I’m a lover of all things books, a hopeless romantic, and have always had a passion for writing. Between being a sappy romantic, my love of an HEA, my crazy imagination, and ok, let’s be real, my dirty mind, I fell easily into writing romance.
I’m a huge baseball fan and yet, a complete girly, girl. I’m an obsessive reader and have a slight (hahaha! Slight? Yeah, right) addiction to signed books.
I’m married to my very own book boyfriend, an alpha male with a sexy, sweet side. He is the best inspiration, my biggest supporter and the love of my life. He is also incredibly patient and understanding about the fact that he has to fight the voices in my head for my attention.
I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them!

ERIN'S REVIEW
6 STARS

I am a huge fan of this author and this series. This story broke my heart. This story is very emotional and very serious. There are few moments of laughter like I have come to expect from the other stories. Kendrix is riding a thin line throughout the story and my heart broke for him. He is normally a very humorous character. Elle did an amazing job portraying all the strain he was going though. All the pain and loss he suffered. There were several moments in this story that I was screaming at my e-reader. I believe that in those moments, if I could have actually gotten into the story I would have kicked some a**. Alysia is exactly the kind of character I thought she would be. All of these women are very strong, opinionated and have a lot of backbone. They are no shrinking violets. She has not led the easiest life, but she knew no other way. She reminds me of Shaylee when she first finds out about her heritage. She takes everything in stride and learns all she can. She always knew she was different. She just didn’t know why. I love the connection these two share. It is deep and wonderful. And also the cause of so many of my tears. The ending will throw you for a loop, but in the most incredible way possible. This might possibly be my favorite book in the series. I hope there are many more books in the future!

Holy twists and turns. This book was up, down, and all around. While Fate spends most of her time talking in riddles, it seems that she does it even more so when dealing with Kendrick. If it's just to mess with him or because she doesn't want to reveal too much, I still haven't figured it out.

The sacrifices Kendrix makes for the good of everyone is amazing, selfless, and heartbreaking. Watching him struggle to do his duty without forming attachments or leaning on his brother or friends for support broke my heart.

Exceptionally written it seems the further into this series that we get the better they get. The story is starting to unfold and while we got so much from this book the end leaves me with so many more questions!

Well, where do I even begin with this one?? This is a totally different view for us from being all in the Fae world. I love how we get to see Kendrix with Alysia. Such a change from the other books in the series.

I was on an roller coaster of emotions with this story. I loved Kendrix from the previous book and wanted so much for him. When he is given this mission, I sort of held my breath through the whole thing hoping that it would turn out in his favor. I quickly fell in love with Alysia as well. A very well developed character that quickly fits in with all the others.

Of course we get our dose of Fate in this story as well. She sort of takes on a different "voice" to me in this one though. I loved her even more after this one and can only imagine what she is up to now!! This is such a great story that you have to read it for yourself. I don't want to give any spoilers because it is such a great read. I could spill it all for you because I loved it so much, but then what good is that for a great story unfolding for you as you read it?? All I can say is that you will not be disappointed that you gave this one a shot!! Thanks Elle Christensen for a great end to an awesome series!! I can't wait for what you have in store for us next!!!

Elle this is an amazing book!
Kendrix has given up everything he loves his family, friends and all that's good including his soul to fall so that he can save the Faes. What he discovers when he meets Alysia has him questioning Fate as to why they would show him what his life could be, knowing now it would never be. Alysia has her own secrets that could get her hurt but Kendrix is there to protect her from the fallen and tell her the truth about her fate. The chemistry is off the charts with these two from their first meeting. Hot steamy sexy scenes.I fell in love with Kendrix and Alysia, I cried big ugly tears when I felt my heart would break for these to sweet souls. Will love prevail? Can a fated love survive even when all seems hopeless? I could tell you so much more but don't want to spoil anything it's a must read.
I was give an ARC of this book for my honest review

This book was different from the rest in the series. I think it is my favorite! I have loved them all though. We get to see a bit of the other side the dark, fallen Fae life.
I was so worried at the end of book 3, so scared for Kendrix. Everything he has ever known and everything he has been is gone all is new and all is changed. But has he changed? His caring and protective side was still shinning through.
I felt horrible for Alyssa she was strong yet so naive, so clueless to what her world really was. She was a feisty little thing!!
He put up a good fight, fighting his desires with her but when he lost the battle my Kindle just about melted!! H.O.T.
Their love story was so sad. I knew it would end badly but I am SHOCKED with the turn of events.
That damn crazy#ss Fate drove me nuts in this one and the way it ended WTH?? I pray there is more to come.

Saving Kendrix (The Fae Guard Book 5)

The love story of Alysia and Kendrix. Alysia was raised by a fallen mother and she know no other life. She is a master thief. Her mother had kept her hidden from both sides. Kendrix, the twin brother of Brannon, he chose to fall to keep Alysia from the fallen council and get her to the Light Council. Can he do it without falling in love with Alysia? Great story.

4 Magical Stars!

Saving Kendrix is the 4th book in the Fae Guard series and it’s a standalone. This is a fantasy romance novel about a group called the Fae. They are the descendants of angels, falling between humans and angels. They are magical creatures with protective powers used for good. They have one rule and that is they can never lie. Once they tell a lie, they become a Fallen Fae and their soul darkens. They lose their purity and their soul.

Saving Kendrix is Kendrix and Alysia’s story. Kendrix is a Pure Fae and has been asked to make the ultimate sacrifice- to save the entire race of Pure Fae. To save his people, he must become a Fallen to save Alysia who is also a Fallen. He must convince Alysia to regain redemption and join the Pure. Kendrix and Alysia are pawns in a larger game only known by God and the angels. Neither of them knows what role Alysia plays, but that it’s an important one. When Kendrix and Alysia meet, they instantly know they are destined for one another; they are soul mates. Unfortunately, there is only redemption for Alysia. Can Kendrix save Alysia for the ultimate good of saving the Fae? Is there no redemption for Kendrix?

This is actually the first book I have read in this series and I really liked it. I’m not sure what I was expecting with this book, but I found it so damn cute! Kendrix and Alysia are some of the cutest characters I have read. Their inner dialogue is so funny and I loved them.

The story is told in dual POV between Kendrix and Alysia. While I adored Alysia, I loved Kendrix. He stole the show for me. He is this incredibly good guy who has been asked to make the ultimate sacrifice. He chooses to sacrifice himself, but he’s bitter about it and takes his frustration out on those around him. He’s a bit closed off in the beginning, but I don’t blame him.

“I know it’s not right, but misery loves company, and I don’t want to suffer this alone.”

He doesn’t even know what the full plan is but he knows he has to fall to save the Fae. I could feel his inner turmoil about being a Fallen. I could feel his love for his people and he has these moments of reflection that made me love him so much. His love for his brother was so touching and I felt so sad and mad for him that he had been asked to sacrifice himself for the good of everyone.

“I don’t ever want to see the look in my brother’s eyes if he were to find out I had become a Fallen.”

Then he finally meets Alysia and he gets why he was asked to save her…she is his soul mate. He changes and softens and he knows he would do anything for her. It’s so damn sweet. They both instantly know they are fated.

“I’m so fucking screwed.”

Kendrix tries to distance himself from Alysia because the plan is to save her while there is no redemption for him. They can’t actually be together. He doesn’t want to fall in love with her, but Alysia is persistent and their chemistry is on Fire!

“Kendrix, be a man. Do not let a beautiful woman walk all over you. You’ve got balls, man. Use them!”

“Her eyes heat and my cock stands at attention. Back the fuck off, you little manwhore. I sternly lecture it.”

LOL…I just love his inner dialogue. It makes me smile. Kendrix never stood a chance. He and Alysia fall in love.

“As much as I hate to get sappy and sound like a cheesy romance novel, in my head and heart, there had been no one before her.”

“I can’t live without you, baby.”

Aww…Kendrix is so sweet! He loves her so much; all he cares about is her happiness. I was so in love with them. Alysia is adorable and completely is his other half. Towards the end, I wasn’t seeing a solution to their problems and I was starting to get angry that Kendrix had to sacrifice his life and love for the greater good. I wanted his redemption; I wanted him and Alysia to be together. So I was stressed until the very end where I finally got a little closure and I was left in a good place. I think things work out just the way they should have.

“Kendrix, the proper response here is ‘thank you, Fate. From the bottom of my newly restored soul, thank you’. “

Overall, this story is great. This book has a very hopeful and light quality to it. I will say that since this is my first book in the series I was confused at times regarding the back-story of the Faes. I had to go back a few times and reread things to understand or remember the story. Also, I was a little unclear about why Alysia was so important. It’s explained in the end what her role is, but I don’t understand the importance of that role in the grand scheme of things. I’m also left wondering if she had stayed Fallen what would have happened. I have a feeling if I read the other books I will have a better understanding of everything. I also felt the ending was a little rushed. Toward 70% I kept thinking there wasn’t enough time to wrap the story up. To my surprise, it did wrap up nicely, but I was left needing a little more information, more answers. Maybe that comes in the next book? I definitely enjoyed this book and I will be reading the rest of the books in this series. If you enjoy a little fantasy and magic in your romance novels, I definitely recommend this one!

This is the first in the series I have read and although reading the others before may have helped with a better appreciation of the situation you don’t need to really for Kendrix does a nice flashback for us.

My first time reading elle christensen and it won’t be my last. I am so very glad that when she was at a author in the city event in Orlando I purchased the whole series from her because just based from this book, I can say I will enjoy it. the writing was wonderful and the book scrumptious. I love Kendrix and all he sacrificed for the greater good. Even though he didn’t see himself in the end as worth much he is worth more. He was kind, caring and protective as all get up. This all comes through in the great descriptive writing of Kendrix’s thoughts and actions that we are privileged to.

this book is seen in the eyes of two people. Alysia who is Cailyn and Kendrix. Kendrix gives us the background and how the situation came about that he had to retrieve Alysia. Alysia is a fallen that really didn’t fall on her own accord. She is also a fascinating character. She has flaws but her flaws sometimes have a purpose. For example for me a flaw is the fact that she is a thief, a good thief, but a thief nontheless. But she does when Kendrix meets her for his mission use her occupation for good to stop a corrupt man. Alysia knows little of the world she is from and Kendrix slowly teaches her as he protects her and falls in love. He can’t have her though because of the decision he made long ago. It’s sad because they are truly wonderful together and she makes Kendrix want to fight for himself and her.

when all heck breaks loose and they go on the run is when we truly get some action of all fae. We see Kendrix come in contact with his past and what he lost and will lose again. We see Alysia learn her fate and make the decision that will help all involved but leave Kendrix hurt. Kendrix though knew all along the fate of him and Alysia and lets go as well. But he doesn’t really as he holds to his soul long enough for Alysia to grow into the woman she was meant to be and make sure she is protected and safe. He does this from the shadows and you can’t help but really feel for this amazingly selfless caring man. He loses so much in this book and it means even more to you as you see it from his point of view because the sacrifice is more emotional and real for you.

I love the ending with Fate and her decisions. To me she helps Kendrix along the way be saved and not just at the end. She helps him see his life has meaning in a roundabout way. At first didn’t like the woman. Nope she was just too cruel when I saw what Kendrix had to do. Than I wondered why she was so cruel but in the end I grew to warm up to her.

Alysia like said earlier fascinated me. she was more than you saw and getting her view on the situation especially as she was learning her world was a treat. Her emotions don’t shine through as much as Kendrix’s and I think this is a good thing because her character is more in the exploration and learning stage and when it comes time for destiny and sacrifice we see the emotion shine through. That is a great way to write this character up for she is on so many journeys in the book and her growth is immense as is Kendrix’s.

The story is character driven and about Kendrix and how he holds onto himself long enough to bring Alysia to those who can keep her safe and make sure she lives the life she is destined too. About Kendrix finding the one meant for him but sacrificing so she may be safe and whole. How Alysia with her love helped Kendrix want to fight even after his sacrifice so she may be protected. How their love saves Kendrix in more ways than one. It is the story of Kendrix and Alysia. the danger of Alysia bringing brought to her destiny, her and Kendrix’s love for one another and how that love intervened and saves Kendrix in so many ways.

“There is no coming back from the darkness that will overtake me.”

Saving Kendrix is everything I expected it to be…and yes, I cried. Elle Christensen did it again! The book is steamy—extremely steamy (lol)—the plot was engaging, and I fell so hard for the characters! There was the usual silly sarcastic thoughts, which has become kind of Elle’s signature style at this point, and I absolutely love how many times she can make me laugh out loud while reading! I love her easy writing style, which makes it truly feel like I am right there watching these scenes play out in front of me. This book was a little darker than the previous titles, but it was dark in a way that had me full of suspense.

I told Elle that as soon as I found out Saving Kendrix was the next book, I knew was going to cry…and I did. Real tears, damn it. If you have read the series so far, you know Kendrix was battling some crazy dark shit, but you didn’t know why or what or how. Of course we get all the details we need, and a lot of the overarching plot details are explained in his book. I was kind of shocked how much we learned.

Saving Kendrix is told in dual POV, like the rest of the series, but this time emphasis was definitely heavier on Kendrix’s chapters, which were still really dark and very entertaining. Kendrix & Alysia are very deep and caring people, and I absolutely adored them so much! They were both so emotionally and physically strong, I am not sure I could have endured what they both have lived through. I loved that we got a weird dual glimpse into the other worlds in this story, without giving too much away; we were able to see what it is like for the Fae living their lives in the human realm, as well as the dark & light realms.

As much as the story and plot unfolded as I turned the pages, I just knew, KNEW, something had to change by the end…and then my hopes were crushed. But you must keep reading! Most of books do not end on a cliffhanger, but the books really need to be read in order or you will be lost in the main plot. You also definitely need to read the epilogue, which does leave you hanging for the next book—plus it was so epic that I read it twice to make sure I didn’t miss anything!

This series is not to be missed and I think I loved this book the most, for different reasons, mainly the selflessness and strength shown that was the predominant theme in this book. If you like fun, engaging characters, hot romance, and a wonderful story, you definitely should pick up The Fae Guard series!

I really enjoy when I see an Elle Christensen novel pop up for review. I'm one who is picky on my fantasy novels, and tend to lean towards those that I have read before, or that really pique my interest. With that being said, Saving Kendrix was really something that took me by surprise....in a good way. From page one you can tell there is a much different writing style that Elle Christensen uses than she did in the previous novels. And, for this book in particular, I feel that it really did well. I, unfortunately, did not have the pleasure of reading the previous book, Chasing Hayleigh, but I didn't feel too completely lost while reading Saving Kendrix.

Kendrix must sacrifice his position within the Fae Guard in order to save the Fae species. A major decision that is not taken lightly by the Fae as well as the "elders" that come to the decision that Kendrix is the one to save them. Fate has stepped forward to nominate Kendrix to be the savior. Even through this novel, I really couldn't deal with Fate. She seems to have her all knowing status about her - I mean after all, her name is Fate! Truly enjoyed that Kendrix was prepared to take his life as a Fallen to the next step, and sacrifice his life, his status to save the Fae. What he isn't expecting is for his own Fate to step in, and make his life more interesting than what it's about to become.

Alysia is ball of energy. From the minute she is introduced in Saving Kendrix, I could tell she was going to be one of my favorites. Kendrix watches her from afar one night after being told who it is he is looking for. When he witnesses her performing less than stellar acts of breaking, and entering, he knows that she's going to be a hard one to crack. Which is so not what happens when they meet! The sparks that fire when the duo's eyes meet is just WOW. Alysia as a person throughout this novel was pretty badass. She's a great character that learns why Kendrix is there, as well as some of her own history that she wasn't aware of in the first place. Overall, a great heroine that pulls Kendrix into the person he needs to be.

As Saving Kendrix comes to an end, you will be asking so many questions. Not questions concerning the novel, but more questions that have you questioning your own life, and choices, and life styles. Kendrix shows an undying love for Alyisa when they meet, and it is utterly outstanding throughout the novel. There is so much good throughout this series. Between developed characters, a very well developed story line, and a story that leaves the reader wanting more, Elle Christensen really pulls her readers in for an outstanding story.

In all honesty, I have been dying a slow death as I waited for this book. Kendrix has intrigued me since “Chasing Hayleigh”. I knew something was up and that Elle’s wicked mind had something BIG in store for Brannon’s twin. If you have read The Fae Guard series this is a different sort of journey than the other books.

There is always the contrast of light and dark in this series, and you know who is right or wrong, but in this book Elle makes you question the darkness and what it is meant to be "wrong". Alysia grew up in the shadows and as mentioned in the synopsis she adapted to it. The best I can describe Kendrix without giving anything away is a fierce lone protector. As you know in this story he has fallen and had to leave his friends and family to in a sense prepare Alysia. His connection to Alysia is instant, but I don’t even think he saw that coming after the difficult choices he has had to make.

There was a lot of emotional turmoil in this book. It felt like my heart was being squeezed as I read about Alysia and Kendrix. Alysia is a strong woman and survivor. She is pretty kick a$$ actually and I loved reading about what she has done to survive. My heart felt like it was being broken piece by piece as I saw these two falling for one another. If I could have hugged Kendrix I would have… A THOUSAND TIMES! I won’t give any spoilers! There is steamy, passionate love and you will be cheering for Kendrix and Alysia just as I did.

As I said before this book makes you question things. I found myself angry with the Fae, and Kendrix’s family and friends. Alysia’s mother ran a close second. The choices that had to be made by Kendrix were not easy and yet he still made them knowing he would have to turn his back on his life, but as a result he met Alysia. I felt like all these decisions he made had to count for something! (I may have messaged the author something to that effect also)

I was just blown away by this book, there are twists that I did not see coming and that ENDING?!!? PERFECTION! This book will suck you right in and keep you enthralled. Kendrix and Alysia’s story will have a special spot in my heart and the ending had my emotions all over the place, from tears, to panic, and then back to happy again. You get some of Fate also if you are as big a fan as I am. I was so mad at her, but I understood her also. Such a great great read!

Kendrix has fallen….fallen for a mission and to find another fallen fae, Alysia. But when he finds her all is not as it seems and things are about to get even more complicated than they already are!

“Where I stand, at this moment, is one circle of Hell. But, it is cold and dark, filled with misery at knowing what I’ve left behind and what is stretched before me. I do my best not to dwell on what was because there is no greater pain than remembering times of love and joy when they are forever out of your reach.”

Kendrix’s story has finally arrived. We have all been waiting for his book especially after the cliffhanger we were left with in the last book. This was by far, the most emotional of the series so far and the most stressful!! So much turmoil, so much drama and so much heart ache. We are thrown for a loop and everything we thought we knew about the light and dark Fae is about to be completely turned on its head.

“That’s just it,” Fate argues, “Even now, you are holding onto what’s left of your soul with a death grip, keeping the shadows from overtaking you long enough to give her everything you have left.”

Kendrix is fierce, silent, broody and a loner. But he also the strongest protector and would do absolutely anything for the ones he loves, even if that means sacrificing his happiness.

“I can only try my best not to succumb fully to evil. But, if I’m bound to live in darkness forever, is there really any other choice?”

Alysia made my heart break. She was so strong and she wouldn’t let anything break her…..and she’s had plenty of moments in her life where others may have crumbled.

“Baby, you can deny it all you want, but you belong to me, and the sooner you accept this, the better we’ll both be.”

Don’t try and bother finding out where the story is going. As soon as you think you have it figured out, the twists and turns will make you questions everything you thought! It kept you hooked right until the very last page and I was honestly holding my breath till the very end praying they would get their HEA.

I Was Provided A ARC By The Author
(Possible Spoilers)

Another sexy and griping chapter to this fast paced, one hell of a ride, series!

Alysia, dark Fae, but not by choice. She's not know any other way, her life of being in the shadows was chosen for her. She's lived her life not really knowing her true abilities, the rules of the Fae, or where she comes from. She's left vulnerable and in danger, and she doesn't even know it. To add to that danger her night job isn't one to brag about, she runs in a dangerous crowd, putting herself at risk each time she takes a job. With the arrival of a sexy tattooed man, with who she feels a all consuming bond with, her life will be thrown for a loop. And she'll have to learn to believe in her abilities and trust Kendrix with her heart.

Kendrix wasn't prepared for what Fate & the council were asking of him. He was shocked. How could he give up all he is and live in the shadows? But if it meant saving everyone, everyone he loved, his friends and family then he would do it. But it wouldn't be easy. He has to leave behind the life he dreamed of having, leave behind his home, behind the light. Finding Alysia, doing his job, wasn't going to be easy, but when he laid eyes on her, it became even more complicated. The bond he has with her is not something he wants to let go of. He wants to keep the truth from her as long as he can, and enjoy the little time they have together.

I can never get enough of this series. Not when Elle Christensen brings us such captivating characters. Kendrix the rough and sexy alpha male. Who will do anything to protect Alysia and the ones he loves, even if that means losing himself in the process. Alysia, beautiful and sweet Alysia, who's sassy with a bad*** side, who loves fast and handles all that is thrown her way. These two are a couple who everyone will love, I know I do, just as much as the other couples.

Great story, a little heartbreaking, some action, and a whole lot of sexiness. Saving Kendrix brings it all, and leaves you wanting more.

The Fae Guard series has held a piece of my heart since the beginning, but Kendrix, sigh, completely stole what was left of it.

I recommend reading the series from the beginning because it's that good. It will also give you more background info on Fae and Fallen.
Saving Kendrix is book 5 of the series. I can honestly say my favorite as well. I loved the others, but the tragic hero takes the cake.

Kendrix is given the choice become Fallen to help save the Fae or live knowing he didn't. Not such a hard decision on paper, but Kendrix has to make it. Give up his life, his family, his friends, and the job he loves...and become a Fallen in return. Be forced to live in t he shadows, to never live in the light again.

He makes the decision to save all he loves by becoming the enemy. He will do this job and try not to let the evil consume him.
It was an easy decisions, until he realizes that this "job" is his fated.
He finds his eternal partner only to have to give her up- if he completes the task Fate gave him.

The struggle between good and evil will always live on. Right now, Kendrix's biggest problem is trying to fight the internal battle.

Good means giving up his love for all Fae. He has to give her up and live forever without her. Knowing she will live a pure life, but that he will never be a part of it.

reviewed for Reviews from the Heart

Evil would be the selfish need to take her and run. To live life in the arms of his love...

His struggle, her future, and those of all the Fae are intertwined.

I am not ashamed to say I cried and felt ever drop of pain and remorse that is in this book. My heart went out to Fate and her pain in asking this of a friend. It was decimated by Kendrix's pain and losses. Author Elle Christensen made sure to leave me a spotty mess. It's a beautiful story. I loved it and I look forward to Fate's story next.

Saving Kendrix is book four in the Fae Guard series by Author Elle Christensen. It is a paranormal/fantasy romance novel.

"There is no coming back from the darkness that will overtake me."

I have been dying to get Kendrix's story since I first met him in this series. His path is one that I knew would likely gut me, as I have become so attached to him and those close to him.

"...the moment she walks away from me, I'll let her take it with her. I won't need my soul without her."

Told in dual points of view, Saving Kendrix has become my favorite story to date in this series. There was such foreboding and suspense. The unique perspective of their surroundings and status in the fae population created an atmosphere that allowed me to be consumed into their world. I anxiously anticipated every new happening, waiting for the moment when the bottom would drop out from underneath me. When Kendrix and Alysia met, their connection was so strong that I was immediately bonded to them. However, knowing the circumstances of their introduction, my unease was amplified with every turn of the page. As their relationship grew, so did the moments of heated passion between them...and when I say heated what I really mean is SCORCHING HOT! As if they weren't an equal match before, this component of their relationship ramped up the you-cannot-take-them-away-from-each-other meter to infinity. Saving Kendrix was a journey filled with unexpected and otherworldly twists that resulted in a tale of selflessness, desire, and love fused with finding light in darkness. A great escape!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC copy received in exchange for an honest review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was my first book from the author and I wasn't disappointed. This is the 5th book in the Fae Guard Series and even though I hadn't read the others it didn't matter. I have now brought the others though as I loved his style of writing, the characters and the storylines.

It was quite a dark storyline which I was on tender hooks the whole way through wondering if Kendrix and Alysia would get their happy ending. He had give up his life to save the Pure Fae, leaving his twin brother and friends behind becoming one of the Fallen. Once your Fallen there is no going back. He made the ultimate sacrifice not really knowing why or what his mission ultimately was about, he just went on blind trust of Fate.

He is sent to find a girl and as if he hasn't given up enough he founds out she is his fated mated once they come face to face. He struggles with the wanting to hold her, love and protect her for all eternity of hand her over to fate like his mission dictates. If he hands her over he will lose his soul forever but it will be the ultimate act of love as even though she is fallen, through no choice of her own, unlike Kendrix she can be reborn a Pure Fae.

The end of this story had me in tears and my heart broke for Kendrix. The end was a complete twist from how I thought it was ultimately going to end as the boom went and I went from hating Elle to loving her.

Looking. Forward to reading more from this author ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kendrix is asked to do something that he didn't know he could do and that means leaving behind he family and friends especially his twin brother. Kendrix doesn't like who he sees when he looks in the mirror. He is so different from what he use to be. Kendrix is asked to do something else for the greater good of his people and again he accepts it even though he doesn't like it.

Alysia is a fae but didn't grow up in that life because her mother didn't want that for her. She didn't know about that life until recently. Alysia meets Kendrix when he shows up at her doorstep and the chemistry is immediate. Kendrix doesn't want to act on it because he knows the real reason he is there.

The more time that Kendrix and Alysia spend together the more they fall for each other. Kendrix knows that this is a job but he can't tell that to his heart. He hopes that Alysia will forgive him once she learns the real reason why he is there. Also Alysia will have to go through something that will tear them apart but it has to be down and it just might save Kendrix in the long run.

I thought this was a great read. I was drawn in from the very beginning. This book takes you on a rollercoaster and shows you how Kendrix got to where he is. I loved the chemistry between Alysia and Kendrix and the battle of good and evil. I cannot wait to see what is going to happen next especially with Fate.

6 wonderfully emotional stars

By far the best book in the series and my favorite. Strong characters, good action and interactions.

Kendrix is asked to sacrifice a lot in this one. He has to leave his brother, friends and home to complete an assignment that will be of benefit to the greater good. It's a "the lives of the many outweigh the lives of a few" situation. Of course he accepts the challenge.
We meet Alysia in this one. She is a Fallen but has been sheltered by her mother all her life and has limited knowledge of her Fae heritage or of the conflict between the light and dark Fae. Alysia has a few secrets and surprises of her own. She is by no means weak or in need of a protector just because she is being made aware of what's really going on in the world. Kendrix and Alysia have great chemistry together.
Of course all of the gang makes an appearance in this story. I have had mixed feelings about Fate throughout this series. She is not my favorite person and she was really on the top of my do not like list at the start of this story but by the end she had almost redeemed herself with me.

This story took me on a great emotional ride and I highly recommend it and the other books in the series.

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review.

I was left speechless with Saving Kendrix. Elle Christensen knocked me off my feet when not even 30% into the book, I was crying my eyes out, searching for my tissue box. This book gives you a different glimpse into the world of the Fae and its eye opening. I’m going to try my hardest to not spoil anything for you.

Kendrix’s story is heart wrenching. He’s asked to give up everything for the good of all. And in doing so, finds the one thing he’s been searching for all his life. Then he’s tasked with another heart breaking task yet again. There were several times I wanted to throw my tablet out the window or otherwise break it I got so made at Fate and the powers that be. Alysia is amazing, feisty and kickass. The perfect yin to Kendrix’s yang. Their chemistry steams off the pages. And when they finally give in, whoooey. It. Is. Hot. So hot.

Saving Kendrix is well-written and keeps you guessing until the very end. It’s probably my favorite so far. I cannot wait for more of the Fae Guard and Fate.

Another amazing book in the addictive Fae Guard series! The story of Kendrix and Alysia is much different than any of the other books in the series so far. In Saving Kendrix we get to see more of the dark side of the Fae, and you feel yourself walking the line between good and evil. I love Alysia because she is so different than any of the female characters we have met so far in this series. She is just as easily to fall in love with, but she has a bit of a rebel side that is a fun twist.

We finally get to delve in to Kendrix in this book and he does not disappoint! The secret he has been hiding from those closest to him is finally revealed and you will love him even more for it. It is so much fun to read about him rediscovering himself in a sense and it is impossible to not devour the story to find out which path Kendrix will take. This may be my favorite in the Fae series!

Oh Elle Christensen. What have you done to me? I read this book soooo slooowwww. I really thought I was going to have my heart broken. This is the tale of Kendrix and Alysia. Kendrix is the fae who has to make the hardest decision of his life to get Alysia to the Fae. He makes his choices and must live with them. I laughed, I cried, I cried, I loved and I cried again. My heart broke for Kendrix, who is officially my favorite Fae now. This story is a about right, wrong, and making tough life decisions. If you are already a fan of the Fae Guard, then you will love this. If you haven't met the fae yet, you will love this. Although it does contain spoilers for previous books in the series, it can be read as a standalone. Just have tissues ready.

Saving Kendrix is the 5th book in The Fae Guard series. It is by far the most emotional ride of this series. Kendrix is asked to make an incredibly difficult, life altering choice. He has given up his soul to save the ones that he loves. While dealing with all of the turmoil that comes along with this journey, Fate goes against him to reveal what could have been. The thing he's always wanted most is now right in front of him. Another choice now lies ahead; one that is consuming his soul. Will he make the right choice? Can Fate be wrong? Elle Christensen blows us away yet again with a stunning story of heartbreak and redemption.

Really enjoy this series!

Another great installment to the Fae Guard series. Entertaining read, good fantasy element, a plot that keeps you turning the pages...all what I've come to expect from Elle Christensen.

Overall, I can't stop myself from reading this series. I'm intrigued! The only downside, the dialogue is a bit cliche at times, and there are several editing errors...but not enough to take away from the story.

4 stars for storyline
3.5 flames for heat

Awww. This book is amazing! As what title is, this book is Kendrix's story. From the start up to the last, I was hooked and I can't put it down. Kendrix's story is heartbreaking yet romantic on some levels. Kendrix was told to do one thing that will change everything in his life. Sacrifice everything even his future. As the story goes, things will get more interesting and full of surprises. I really loved it! Full of surprises and tons of unexpected events. Loved it!!!
