I KNEW THAT WAS COMING! **gasp, gasp, gasp** But somehow I was still shocked.

Damn! Where is Book two when I need it. My God.
Okay, firstly: Roxy Sloan has the serial formula down to a T! It's great. An easy start, a little mystery, a dash of fierce sexiness, and then she drops you like it's hot and BOOMMMMMMM... it ends and leaves you screaming for more. You're HOOKED. TAKEN. OWNED!
I love it.
I love these little reads.
They take all your emotions and inflame them. They're so short, that you're constantly on high alert. You know shit's going to go down in more than one way which leaves you hyper vigilant! If that even makes sense.
Basically in The Scene, Nicole moves to Miami to investigate her brother Eli's death! She doesn't believe what the police are telling her and she wants to do some digging. While there she meets Xavier. AND that's ALL I'll say. Hahahahaha! Sorry, it would be too spoilery.

Nikki is a young woman who moves to Miami six months after the death of her brother Eli, to get some answers. He was killed in a car accident, but she believes he was murdered. She found out he got himself mixed up with some drug dealers and now she is determined to get to the truth.
Her friend from high school sets her up with a job at a high end hotel in Miami. She delivers room service to hotel guests and her first day on the job, she meets a sinfully sexy man named Xavier. He's the object of many of the hotel employees desires. During their first meeting sparks are definitely flying between the two.
I really didn't connect with this story and maybe it's because it is super short. Neither the hero or heroine were all that intriguing to me and I felt like Nikki was a Nancy Drew wanna be. I find it highly unbelievable that a young woman, who moves to a new city, is going to willingly interact with known drug lords, who are dangerous, in order to investigate her brother's death.
The steamy scenes were pretty smoking but there was no mention of condoms or birth control, or STD tests! So these two just have sex on top of a sports car after having known each other for like two days and they do it without any protection???!!!
Maybe there wasn't enough of a story because of the length of this novella. Hopefully part two offers more and I end up having feelings for the two MCs.

Another serial from Roxy Sloane, In this, part 1, we see Nikki arriving in Miami to work on a hotel resort with her friend Hailey. Nikki has another motive for working there though, she is determined to find answers as to what happened to her brother before his 'accidental death'.
She immediately catches the eye of rich guest, Xavier who sets out to wine and dine her (and fuck her).
It was OK, I found Xavier a bit cheesy with his pick up lines and I thought Nikki conveniently made friends very quickly with the right people who were involved in 'The Scene' that could help her find her answers.
As expected, this ends on a cliffhanger. A very short read.

Guh, I need more. Roxy Sloane has done it again. Her novellas are always great.
This book is no exception. Nicole is seeking justice for her dead brother. He died in Miami but Nicole is certain that someone murdered him. Determined to locate his killer, she moves to Miami and gets a job as a waitress in a luxurious hotel. Her plan gets a little sidetracked when she meets Xavier. Xavier is a handsome and very wealthy business man who is residing in one of the hotel's villas. When Nicole meets him, she is immediately attracted to him.
But Nicole has a plan; she wants to find out if her brother was involved with drugs that ultimately killed him. Trying to find out the truth, she will put herself at risk trying to infiltrate infamous drug circles.
I loved the book and it was an easy and quick read. The twists and turns were exciting and I really cannot wait to find out how the author will get her characters out of this mess after that cliffy. The chemistry between Xavier and Nicole was amazing and the secondary characters certainly served their purpose and made this story even more fascinating.
Take a ride to Miami with this novella; the city of sin, grittiness, beauty and danger. You won't be disappointed.

The Scene is a book very much like Miami; sexy and colorful but not everything always makes sense in this land. Trust me I know, because I've been a Miami resident for now seventeen years and not too long ago I was very much part of the Miami scene.
Like in this book describes, must people in Miami are very into theirs or others good looks. The city is full of beautiful people and everywhere you go physical beauty is key to get into the hottest places. Lucky for us Miami residents, there's a lot more to us than just South Beach.
Nicole just moved to Miami with the mission to look for answers behind the mystery of her older brother's death. A friend from her childhood has offered her a place to live and a job as a waitress in a very exclusive Miami Beach resort. Her main goal is to talk to every person who knew her brother and find the pieces that make whole the truth about her brother's death, because she doesn't believe what the police reports are saying.
On her first day working in the resort she delivers room service to the most handsome man she's ever seen, he is a sexy billionaire named Xavier. This man appears like a total mystery but he is very upfront about his intensions with Nicole. He wants her in every aspect and is not long before he starts pursuing her.
Nicole is very close to finding the truth, even though her focus has shifted to Xavier and the wonderful things he does to her. What will happen when she finds out the truth and it's the opposite of what she was expecting?
Was I over the top in love with this book? No. I'm not someone who is very into the whole mystery solving kind of book, so that might be the main reason why I wasn't impressed by this one. The book ends on a cliffhanger and its the first installment of the series, so we really still don't know much about the true nature of the characters. I'm going to give myself another chance and continue reading to see if I can establish a stronger connection with the characters and their story. We'll see...

You know that feeling you get, when you hear that one of your favorite authors is going to be releasing a new book or series? That feeling of pure excitement. Of wonder. You think, how in the hell can she top her last series. I ask myself this question every damn time. And each time, Roxy serves it to me on a silver tray. With all the trimmings. And a whole lotta hot new sexiness!!! With an even hotter guy!! An even more kick ass leading lady. And an amazing plot!! Filled with incredible supporting characters!! This is what Miss Sloane does. Every. Single. Time.
In this hot new series, we are transported to Miami. We have Nikki who just moves there and starts working at a luxury hotel/resort. She's also trying to find info on the death of her brother.
And then there is Xavier. Sexy as sin, rich, and a bit of a mystery. He is a guest at this hotel. And is quite taken by Nikki. Who serves him. In more ways than one.
So I've tried to figure out a way to do this review without spoilers. Because I hate those. And I really can't. I will say that I love the mystery surrounding Nikki's brother's death. And I will say that the ending....yeah, I might be a little hungover from it. But yay!!! We only have to wait one week for part 2!!!
Roxy never fails to bring all the things in her stories. We get some of the hottest sexy times ever. A certain car scene....holy hell. I was wanting a new car after that. The ocean scene. Yeah, if you know me, you know I'm terrified of the ocean. But after that, I would definitely risk my fear of drowning for a dip with Xavier. Just sayin. And I love how all her stories are suspenseful. They not only make you squirm. But they make you think.
Roxy Sloane is a literary genius. I love her writing. I love her mind. I love her thoughts. I simply love her.

This book even though is short, it packs a punch. The Scene is base on Miami so from there you already know how hot this is gonna get.
So we meet Nicole "Nikki" and Xavier. Xavier is a business man, who knows what he wants and knows how to get it and Nikki is well Nikki is a girl with a lot on her young life. She wants answers and she is prepare to do anything to get them.
So prepare yourselves to fall in love with Miami and keep a spare panties near by because as of every one of Roxy's books this series promise to be scorching hot.
Excellent opening to a series, can't wait for July 22 for book 2.

This was an interesting read and I couldn't put it down! Although it was obviously that the story was a bit predictable and a cliffhanger didn't even surprise me, I really enjoyed it. I wanted to know exactly who Xavier was!

Roxy Sloane has done it again!! She's given us the perfect blend of sex, intrigue, danger and romance. You can always count on her books to be smoking hot, and this is no exception. I have so many ideas for activities to do in and on a sports car now...
Nicole moves to Miami to live with a friend under the pretense of just needing a change of scenery. The truth is that she has suspicions about her brother's death six months ago. The coroner says it was a car accident, and the police say he was involved in a drug ring. That's not the brother she remembers, so she's taken it upon herself to dig into what really happened to him.
She gets a job at a high class hotel where she meets the super sexy Xavier. They have amazing chemistry together and even though part of Nicole doesn't want to get sidetracked from her mission, she knows she has to live a life too. She accepts his offer of a date and they have a great time, quite possible the sexiest date I've ever read about. He likes her enough to want to see her again, so they make plans for another night. Xavier is a bit of a mystery to us. She has caught him in a few peculiar conversations that tell us there might be more to him than just a restaurant owner/investor.
When she isn't working, Nicole is hanging at a popular club her brother used to work at and asking questions. I'm sorry, but she just isn't a very good private investigator. She's asking dangerous questions of dangerous people and it's going to get her in trouble. By the end of the book she's realized she doesn't know who she can trust and who she can't, she also knows her brother's death was definitely murder and the bad guys know someone's asking questions. Do they know it's her? Is anyone she's been close to involved in whatever went down with her brother? Is she being played by the people she's asking questions of? We won't know until part two because we're left with one hell of a cliffhanger that left me with my jaw dropped and saying, "WHAT?!".
I need to know what happens next, like right NOW!!

WOW! Just WOW! The Scene is full of suspense, drama and total HOTNESS!
Can I just say that I need to go to Miami to find my very own Xavier.
Nicole moves to Miami with Hailey, her best friend, to try to get closure and find out the real story behind her brothers death. Xavier is a sexy mystery. I want to know more about him. I want to hear him talk dirty again and again and again. I loved this first part of The Scene. I loved that it had that fast-paced Roxy Sloane vibe but it carried a whole new voice with Nikki. We have new setting - Miami - and it’s fucking perfect for this book. The vibe of this city shined through in Roxy’s words. I want to go on a yacht and wear Beach Fabulous clothes and hang with Nikki and her fabulous friends.
As always, Roxy gives us some mystery and intrigue along with the sexy times. This time, Nikki is searching for clues as to what her now deceased brother was up to before his passing. In her quest for info, she makes new home in Miami and takes a job at an exclusive resort. Xavier is a guest there, but you can quickly tell he’s more than just a guest. He’s in the best villa, orders fancy food, and carries himself in a way that screams power. His flirtation quickly escalates and hot damn, once these two start, there’s no stopping them!

The GODDESS of Serials is BACK!!! AND she just kicked my ass with this ending! You know it's coming, and yet it still surprises the FUCK out of you every single time! HOT DAMN woman! You are a master!
HOT HOT HOT! Everything about Book 1 is HOT! Roxy Sloane blows me away with how amazing her writing is, and how easily she hooks me with her characters and fast-paced story lines. It's angsty, it's erotic as all hell, AND we get a hero who is a sexy mystery! Don't mind me...I fell like I have to use an exclamation point after every sentence because I'm so freaking exciting for this series! This will go by so quick, so be sure and savor the awesomeness that is Roxy's newest baby. From the very beginning I kept look at the bottom corner of my Kindle watching the percentage fly by, and all the while I was willing it to slow down. I didn't want it to end. I wanted to learn more! No! I NEEDED to know more! But in typical Sloane fashion, she gives us an ending that drops our jaws to the goddamn floor! Oh and you know what...my jaw is still on that floor! 5 Blazing stars for Xavier and Nicole!
I don’t think words can accurately describe how much I enjoyed this first book in the series. The chemistry and banter between Nicole and Xavier was so entertaining. The sensuality between them is HOT! Sizzling, actually. Nicole (Nikki) has just arrived in Miami in search of answers to her brother’s strange death. She’s not in Miami for long before she meets the incredibly handsome Xavier. There is so much mystery surrounding Xavier. Who is he and what is he doing in Miami?
Sure, this is a quick read, but I cannot get Xavier out of my head. I'm left with such a book hangover! The awesome news is that we don’t have to wait much longer for THE SCENE 2! It comes out July 22.

Well, all I can say is Roxy Sloane hit it out of the park once again. I was on the edge of my seat and could not put this book down! It's riveting, sexy, suspenseful and leaves you wanting more.

Hot! Hot! Hot! Holy smokes.... this is only the first book in a new series by this extremely talented author but it is already shaping out to be an amazing series. This author take the crown in serial romances... hands down. She won me over with her first book and each time she releases something, I eagerly come back wanting more.
This book was amazing. Sexy, fun, edgy, intense... this book has everything to keep you glued to the pages until the end, desperately wanting more. Roxy Sloane is brilliant when it comes to erotic romance. She plays with your emotions in such a good way, gets you all hot and bothered, and keeps you hanging until the very last word.
This is the first book in a three part series so it does end in a cliffhanger. This is the beginning of Nikki and Xavier’s story. Nikki moved to Miami with a purpose and she plans to get answers, without distractions or obstacles. What she doesn't expect is Xavier and the way he makes her feel. He is a temptation that may just be too good to pass up. Get ready for one sinfully sexy ride.

I adore Roxy's writing.
I knew that this was going to be spicy, being set in Miami. There is just something about this city that puts a sense of heat into the story. Roxy has a way of setting the "scene".
You start with the mystery that is Nikki and her brother. You are immediately caught up wanting to know what happened. Then Xavier comes into the picture as this rich, debonair mystery man. He encapsulates Nikki, as well as the reader, from the get go. Watching Nikki stumble through the first few meetings with Xavier reminded me of myself so much, you couldn't help but want to shake her and be like "just make out with him already!!!!"
As you get drawn into the story more and more, the twists and turns start to build and you are just dying to know who this "El Jefe" is.
I cannot wait for part 2 to keep getting deeper and deeper into this mystery.

Once again, Roxy takes you on a ride to an amazing place, and brings a great couple (they don't know it yet) along for a great adventure. The alpha in this series is Xavier, self-made mogul and sex god! He's got some secrets, but so does our lady, Nicole. She moves to Miami for a change of scenery, and to try to find out how her brother died. The cops are saying one story, but Nicole doesn't believe it. Xavier could be a piece of this mysterious puzzle, and Nicole will do whatever it takes to get to the truth behind her brother's death. Xavier is immediately attracted to Nicole when they meet. They start seeing each other, and as feelings develop, trust issues surface from both Xavier and Nicole. Nicole finds out something about Xavier that could possibly ruin their fledgling relationship. Roxy leaves us with a cliffie, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
