NY Times and USA Today Bestselling author J.M. Madden writes compelling romances between 'combat modified' military men and the women who love them. J.M. Madden loves any and all good love stories, most particularly her own. She has two beautiful children and a husband who always keeps her on her toes.

J.M. was a Deputy Sheriff in Ohio for nine years, until hubby moved the clan to Kentucky. When not chasing the family around, she's at the computer, reading and writing, perfecting her craft. She occasionally takes breaks to feed her animal horde and is trying to control her office-supply addiction, but both tasks are uphill battles. Happily, she is writing full-time and always has several projects in the works. She also dearly loves to hear from readers! So, drop her a line. She'll respond.

Review for "Shots Fired" by Stacy Green only

When Detective Cage Foster was notified of a report of shots fired at the old historic homestead of Magnolia House, he immediately rang his wife Dani. He knew she had been there with their six week old daughter Emma as their best friends Jaymee and Nick lived at Magnolia House, which was now a B&B. Thankfully Dani had left earlier – but she gave him news of an annoying guest who seemed volatile; he wanted to stay longer but Jaymee wanted him out of there.

When Cage arrived at Magnolia House in Roselea, he was horrified to find Mutt, Jaymee’s beloved dog was bleeding profusely and suffering what looked like a gunshot wound. Unable to get Jaymee or Nick to answer their phones, he rang his boss – was it a hostage situation? What was happening in the quiet but eerie silence of the usually bustling house?

Shots Fired is a short story by Stacy Green which is in the anthology "Protect & Serve" by various authors. A Cage Foster/Delta Detectives novella it is gripping and written in the author’s usual style – I love this author’s work; the mystery and intrigue is threaded through Shots Fired as it is through her full length novels. Highly recommended.

With thanks to the author for my copy to read and review.

***** Protect and Serve Bundle *****
( Reading short stories is a great way to find a new author !)

* Her Secret Wish, J.M. Madden
Rachel is in a hit and run crash, trapped, before she passes out, she remembers his beautiful blue eyes. She's a former Marine Helicopter Pilot, has seen, and experienced injuries and war, but now helps people at LNF, Lost N' Found in Denver. ( I love that series !) Large, muscled, Dean, is an off duty cop ( he's so awesome ) who sees the accident, he's first on the scene. She's asked on a date, and their courtship begins.
Great story, wonderful characters, smexy, too. My favorite of the set !

* True Navy Blue, Sharon Hamilton
Zak and Amy were hot and heavy in High School, but now they've each grown up Zak is soon to graduate from Navy SEAL training, and Amy went off to San Francisco to create a life away from home. When she needs Zak, he is there for her. Because she has witnessed the terrorist running from his crime, now she's a target. Zak is there to save her, and wedding bells are tinkling ! Lovely romance, action packed tale, great characters.

* Rebel, Amity Cross
A tough female cop, and even tougher cage fighter, yum. Rebel/Kane fights underground, illegal, and will go legit and professional. Charlotte/Charlie is in over her head trying to bring down the shady fight game. Getting close to Rebel wasn't in the plan, but they are "off-the-charts" smokin' hot in bed. The connection is unlike anything either one has had previously. It's deeper than hot sex, they are perfect for each other in every way. This story is raw, gritty, rough, and exciting, with lots of action, wonderful characters. Great story !!

* Shots Fired, Stacy Green
Cage Foster, awesome cop, discovers hostage situation that involves his friends. No one can back him up, but he's got to do something.
Through a phone conversation he gets a clue; his wife knows the answer. There's a tunnel entrance to the kitchen in this huge old southern home. Great characters I liked right away. Steady a suspense. The story begins fast and holds our attention. We are pulling for him to succeed and save these people. Loved it ! This is a first for me with author Stacy Green and her writing is spectacular. Our cop, Cage, is the star of a whole series of books. Awesome !

* Uncertain Blue by Jamie Lee Scott
I didn't like - enough said.

* Brace for Contact, Allie K. Adams
FBI narcotics officer, "Nash" Ashford knows his new partner from five years ago. TREX cadet, Michaela "Mike" Starr needs to make him reveal is informant. There are a whole series of TREX, Tactical Retrieval Experts books. Explosive describes her attraction to Nash. They are after a street drug and the drug lords peddling it. These two ex-lovers have a secret past, and he wants an explanation she doesn't want to give. They move along on the case and reconnect their feelings in bed. ENJOY !

* Tea, Theft and Scones, Hildie McQueen
We have a a pair of dittsie ladies who own a tea and bakery shop. They think they are sleuths who can get to the bottom of the thefts in their town. This is lighthearted, funny, cute and charming.
The gals keep ruining Jimmy's investigation. Just a quirky bunch of characters, crazy tale and G-rated fun.

* Dead of Night, Cheryl Bradshaw
Suspense, murders, mystery, and a cop and PI who are dating, working opposite ends of the cases. Well written investigation of a crime that turns into two, then another death. Who did it? That is the question. I liked this story, no sex, but lots of great plot flow and interest.

* Lilah By Midnight, Carra Copelin
Bull rider, ex-military, now a Deputy, Jake has always loved Lilah, and followed her career as a famous country singer. He's stunned when he sees her in the damaged motor coach on the roadside. There's a mystery as to why and who has sabotaged her bus, and career. During the investigation, they get to know each others story, and he's got an 8 year old daughter to raise, since his wife died from cancer. Wonderful characters, no sex, but a simply sweet love story.

* Overcome, Jenna Bennet
Carmen is training to be a cop, because she wants to help people, like herself. She was brutally raped and the trial is over, but there are others out who need her protection. Will is a cop, she meets and he is working a serial rapist case. Her brother volunteers her to help them, and she becomes bait, which puts her with Will - a lot ! No sex, but a good case, well written, with surprise ending.

* Running from Shadows, Danielle Stewart
Roark is private security and meets Demi while checking out a future job. He knows her.
She looks exactly like a victim he knew years before, and thinks the taunts, slashed tires, threatening notes, she's getting are from that case. It's confusing to explain, but the story flows well, and we have our own guesses. Surprise - it's not what we thought at all !!! Good mystery,
no sex scenes, action packed, violence. Well written, tangled, detective tale.

What a great collection! Stacy Green's Cage Foster is back in SHOTS FIRED ( A Cage Foster/Delta Detectives novella) and what a ride! Dani and the baby are home and doing fine but Cage is called to Jaymee and Nick's bed and breakfast to check out a possible gun shot and finds a domestic dispute turned deadly and Jaymee and Nick being held hostage! Desperate times call for desperate measures and Cage is defiantly the man you want on the job! All these stories are well written with fast paced action! I enjoyed every minute of this book!

The second book listed in this series was missing in my ARC, but everything else was enjoyable!

Her Secret Wish by J. M. Madden - Rachel is a former marine, who had been injured in a helicopter crash. She was discharged from service due to her injuries and joined a private investigation firm in Denver. One day, she was broadsided by a truck who took off. To her rescue comes Dean, with his aquamarine eyes, and an off-duty Denver Police Officer. Read this incredible journey that he takes her on, having never been in a relationshiop like this one before.

Rebel (A Men of the Underground Novella) by Amity Cross - Charlotte is a detective in the Victorian police department in Australia. Charlotte gets a wake up call when she goes to the Underground. She sees Rebel and loses herself in him, finding him staring at her and heading her direction outside of the ring. An underground fighter, and a cop on a mission, will it work? She gets up close and personal with Rebel, then takes off. However, she is seared into his mind. He goes back, hoping to find her the next night. Will they cross paths again? What will happen when they find out she's a cop, or if they find out?

Shots Fired - A Cage Foster/Delta Detectives novella by Stacy Green - Cage is a sheriff's officer in a small town. His wife and baby go to visit a friend for the day who runs a B&B in a neighboring town. Dani, Cage's wife, and the baby leave early due to a guest. Cage does not know that when he is informed of shots fired at the B&B. He reaches his wife who says they left earlier. But without his wife, he would not know as much as he does when he tries to go in 3 different times for the rescue. Does he succeed? Is the third time a charm like they always say? You really must read to find out what ways he tries to get into the house.

Uncertain Blue (an Uncertain Novella) by Jamie Lee Scott - Dane is a police officer in the small town of Uncertain. He used to spend his summers there at a cabin on the lake that his Uncle owns. His uncle owns a diner in town. He's been on the job a week when he goes to a house that they suspect of dealing and doing drugs. He finds a girl, Claire, that he had known when he was 12-13 years of age and had crushed on back then. Can he get her cleaned up? Does she want to be cleaned up? What happens when he picks her up after she's ROR from the bust that happened the night before?

Brace for Contact by Allie K. Adams - Michaela "Mike" Starr is a cadet in TREX. That stands for Tactical Retrieval Experts. She is just at the end of her first week of training when she gets pulled by the director, to go back home to a place she hasn't been in five yeras, to see a man that she left behind. All to get information from him. This is a novella filled with intrigue, espionage, and romance. It is also filled with hate, anger, and down and dirty sex. For Mike left Norman "Nash" Ashford III blowing in the wind and he doesn't know what happened or why. Can these two work things out? Can his being SBI and her being TREX work? You'll have to read to find out what happens, by the end of it you will be laughing too!

Tea, Theft and Scones by Hildie McQueen - This book reads more like a mystery than a romance of any sort. Abbie and Becka own the Tea Shop in town. Things have been disappearing off people's porches and lawns. One of the girls takes the trash out just before closing one day and sees the Mayor stuffing black trash bags into his car. The girls think that it must be a dead body. So they go hunting for things. They seem bound and determined to find out who is stealing things from people's houses. Can they do it? Who do you thnk the thief is? Sure wasn't who I expected!

Dead of Night by Cheryl Bradshaw - In this murder mystery, Cabe is a police officer in Jackson Hole, WY. His girlfriend is a private investigator. A family dinner happens one night and the mother states that she's met a man and she is moving to California to be with him. The family doesn't believe it. Later, her husband is murdered, and once again, she's the number one suspect. Thanks to the private investigator, things take a turn when she notices something at a family member's house of the first murder victim. What did she notice? What could have tipped her off? You will just have to read this book to see how twisted things can really be sometimes.

Lilah By Midnight by Carra Copeland - A big stage performer in Nashville, trying to reinvent her career that has been flagging for a few years now, Lilah finds herself caught in a massive snow storm in the panhandle of Texas and stuck in her old home town. Former boyfriend and love of her life, Jack is now working for the Sherriff's office. He has an 8 year old daughter named Callie who loves LIlah's music. So the two girls strike up a friendship easily. Lilah is angry that she's stuck in Mistletoe, TX. She has a deadline to get to Fort Worth, to Billy Bob's Steakhouse in the Fort Worth Stock Yards. Will she make it? The band members were in a van, ahead of them. Do they make it to Fort Worth? What happens? Does Lilah make it? Read this story and find out.

Overcome by Jenna Bennett - Carmen is a survivor. She goes to the police college in Miami after an incident back home. She meets Bianca in the academy and becomes fast friends with her. Once they've graduated, they go to Murphy's Law. The local police hangout, where she runs into Will. He says he knows her, but she doesn't remember him. Did she really meet him four years ago? How can she not remember? Before Carmen can go home, Will a member of the Criminal Investigations division at the Miami PD calls home where Carmen is due to go to work and speaks with her brother who is a Detective there. They want to keep her on to help catch a serial rapist in Miami. Can she do it? Does she do it? Is she willing and able to do it? Read and see what happens in this story. Who is it that is doing it? All the victims so far say it is someone that sounds like a cop. Is it really a cop or is it someone pretending?

Running from Shadows by Danielle Stewart - Roark is a private security guy for a diplomat. He's out reconning a club that the diplomat's daughter wants to go to that weekend. He runs into Demitria, Demi for short. They leave the club together, because she doesn't want to be there anymore than he does. He helps her get out. There's a problem with her car. He waits for the tow truck to get there before leaving. A few days later, he has a date with her when she calls, to say there is another problem with her car. He thinks she is a person from his past, that he knows from a case file when he was a Homicide Detective in Detroit PD. She claims she does not know what he's talking about. When he mentions it to the two detectives that are on the case of her vandalism and the threatening note in her locker at work, she still claims to know nothing about anything in her past. Is she telling the truth or is she lying? Is she the person who Roark thinks she is or is she a really good look-alike? Who is doing these things to her? What happened in the past that Roark thinks it is her? If her name is truly Demitria, then who is Alexandria?

I was given a copy of this set for my honest review although it would have been an autobuy because I love this group of authors.

Her Secret Wish: You don't have to read the other books in the Lost and Found series to follow this one about Rachel. The only female detective in the agency full of modified combat vets Rachel was a badass helicopter pilot for the Marines. Injured in Afghanistan she now works for the agency fighting bad guys in the states. A car accident brings her together with Dean West, Denver PD off duty cop there at the right time. They fit together mentally, emotionally and physically. Not many men can deal with a strong independent woman who's more tomboy that feminine princess. The respectful way Dean goes about courting Rachel is admirable and very attractive. I hope to see more of Dean and Rachel in future LnF books.

True Navy Blue: With the recent shooting on a pier in SF this is a very timely story. Hamilton does a great job setting our story of the troubled young man trying to make his way. And his young lady, the SRPD Chief's daughter, has caught some trouble of her own. A shooting takes place and she calls in the cavalry. Perfect blend of sexy young love and suspenseful action.

All the books in this set were suspenseful and intriguing. Some were part of a series but you would never know it and were easy to follow. I had a list of reviews for each book and it got wiped. I truly enjoyed each one as a lovely quick read between my other books. Finding new authors is the best perk to reading an anthology.

From former military service people to cops and detectives on the street this anthology covers our people in uniform and plain clothes. Men and women showing their desire to protect and serve the ones closest to them. Some romance tinged with crime and survival. Life changing choices fueled with action and criminals.

All the stories are well written. Not every story is my kind of reading but that's not to say you won't like it! I enjoyed some things I previously have shied away from. Take for example "Tea, Theft and Scones" by Hildie McQueen. Does that sound like a group of little old ladies and a story to put you to sleep? You'll be surprised. It was a cute story with some hunky men and interesting if not nosy women. Love the dog in this story! Poor Fugly. Entertaining and amusing.

My favorite story was probably "Uncertain Blue" by Jamie Lee Scott. Officer Dane Briggs stumbles upon a child hood friend during a raid and things are about to change for everyone. Can a drug addicted woman turn her life around? Is Officer Briggs going to risk everything to help her just because he knew her way back when? Another well written entertaining story in this anthology.

With 11 short stories or novellas to choose from be sure and read them all. The entire book overall was put together with a mix of authors who meshed quite well. Find out who is going to "Protect and Serve" with a dash of romance.

I’ve only read True Navy Blue by Sharon Hamilton from this collection so far, but if all the stories are like hers, I’m looking forward to reading all of them.
True Navy Blue is a wonderful novella where we meet Zak and Amy. They dated in high school but haven’t’ seen other since Zak left to join the Navy. Zak is now home for a few days before he starts BUD/S training to be a SEAL. Amy has finally realized she wants more with Zak. She wants to be the one he comes home to every night. She wants to wait for him while he finishes his training and comes back for her. Zak knows he needs to focus completely on the SEALs training and not have to worry about having someone wait for him, he doesn’t feel it’s fair to either of them even though they have amazing chemistry and sparks always fly when they are together.
Months have now past, life changes have happened with both of them, but when something happens and Amy is a witness, she is scared and reaches out to Zak. What happens when he comes to help will change everything.
I love Sharon’s wiring and love her Seal Brotherhood Series. I’m looking forward to the full expanded version of Zak and Amy’s story in Tue Navy Blue, Book one of her new True Blue SEALs Series. Even with this being a short novella, I loved Zak and Amy and can’t wait to read a more in-depth story. Seems like Zak will be a great addition to our beloved Seal Team 3!

To Protect and Serve ( Will be adding to this review as I finish the other stories)

J.M Madden

Her Secret Wish
I loved it. I’ve been hoping this author would do a female vet because I just knew she could write a good story and make it fit. Well she did it and along the way made me laugh and giggle. I love the men and women who are LNF may this author just keep writing us more and more characters to know and love

Sharon Hamilton
True Blue Navy

Loved it. I always enjoy this author’s novella especially since she always follows up with a full length book so we get the rest of the story. Well let me tell just this part was amazing and I loved it. I can’t wait to see what she does with the whole story. Amy and Zac seem like they are gonna fit in well with our Team 3 gang :)

Danielle Stewart
Running from Shadows

Loved it. Just like every other book I’ve read by this author I’ve loved. She has a great writing style one that will draw you in and get you involved in the story. I’m hoping she will give us more of these amazing characters in future books

Staci Green
Shots Fired

Good novella seems to be a part of a series that I have not read but even without reading them I enjoyed this. Good story line and the action keep me interested

Her Secret Wish by J.M. Madden
What a unique love story. Two people meet after a car crash and find they have an unbelievable connection.

Rachel Searles, has always been more comfortable hanging with the guys than women. She used to fly a Super Stallion carrying many Marines into combat before taking heavy fire in Afghanistan that broke several vertebrae in her back which resulted in a medical discharge from the Marines. Now she works for Lost and Found trying to start her life over with her limitations. This book starts off with a vivid description of a car crash that Rachel is in. Afterwards she is pinned in the car and injured when an off duty police officer comes to her aid and all it takes is one look in each other eyes and these two connect on a level neither has felt before.

No angst in this one – just two people who are uncomfortable normally with relationships realizing that there is something special between them and both taking the chance to explore that.

I am enjoying all of the stories so far, but have two complaints:
1.) When reading these inexpensive box sets (which I call samplers) it drives me crazy that most of them haven't been proofread. There seems to always be so many typos in these stories. I understand that the authors aren't making much, if any, money on these, but if their goal is to get readers to notice their work and purchase their books, I would expect these samples to be perfect. Just my opinion.

2.) It seems that the Glock is the preferred handgun in stories where they mention the make of the handgun. It also seems that no-one researches that handgun when writing it into a story. The Glocks DO NOT have an external safety switch that can be flipped on and/or off. Glock uses what they call the “Safe Action”® System.

If it weren't for the two complaints above I would have given this box set 5 stars. I enjoyed every story.

This is a great collection of novellas from several wonderful authors. All of the stories are new, some continue with a series and others do not. I found several new authors and series I'm anxious to start reading. Some of my favorites were J.M. Madden's Her Secret Wish, Stacy Green's Shots Fired, Jamie Lee Scott's Uncertain Blue (I think this may be a new series...I hope so!), and Hildie McQueen's Tea, Theft and Scones. If you're unfamiliar with some of the authors, this would be a great way to sample some of their work.

I received an advanced reader's copy from one of the author's in exchange for an honest review.

This is not a very good collection. The novellas are often very short and several of them come off as the first several chapters of a longer book rather than an entire standalone story.

Her Secret Wish by J.M. Madden: 3 stars. I liked this story, but it is very short.

True Navy Blue by Sharon Hamilton: DNF. This is a coming of age story. I don't enjoy YA and as soon as I realized that the characters were learning to be adults I lost interest and stopped reading.

Rebel by Amity Cross: 3 stars. Basically, the couple hooks up and the story ends.

Shots Fired by Stacy Green: 4 stars. This is not a romance, but the mystery is good. Once again, it's quite short.

Uncertain Blue by Jamie Lee Scott: 2 stars. Neither character is sympathetic and the ending is a HFN at best. This story felt like a piece of a longer story and not something written to stand alone.

Brace for Contact by Allie K. Adams: 2 stars. This is a second chance at love story. Not much happens.

Tea, Theft and Scones by Hildie McQueen: 2 stars. This is a cozy small town mystery. It's the kind where no one has to be at their job and everyone has time for lots of town council meetings. There were a lot of typos and the writing was a bit awkward. The romance seems based on convenience more than anything else.

Dead of Night by Cheryl Bradshaw: 4 stars. This isn't a romance, but it is a good, well written mystery.

Lilah by Midnight by Carra Copelin: 3 stars. Very sweet romance, but wasn't too sweet for me.

Overcome by Jenna Bennett: DNF. The hero made me very uncomfortable and so I skipped this story. The hero and heroine hooked up a few few years ago, but she doesn't remember him. He is very put out about this, finds her home address, and shows up on her doorstep to argue with her about his being memorable. He even pushes his way into her apartment to argue with her about it. Then, he works it so she has to work on police case with him, all because his ego is dented.

Running from the Shadows by Danielle Stewart: 2 stars. Most of the story happens off the page, which is unfortunate.

First book is Her Secret Wish by J.M. Madden which was good.

The Second book is True Navy Blue by Sharon Hamilton which was also good.

The Third book is Rebel by Amity Cross which I did not much care for because of all the filthy language and I had a hard time getting through the story.
The Fourth story is Shots Fired by Stacy Green which is my favorite so far. Just love Cage Foster! This time he has to save his wife Dani's friends Jaymee and Nick who are being held hostage by the husband of the last couple to leave in the morning that are having a domestic dispute and the guy is abusing his wife. Cage must try and save them all. Will he do it read the story to find out.

The Fifth Story is Uncertain Blue by Jamie Lee Scott which I enjoyed.

The Sixth is Brace For Contact by Allie K Adams

The Seventh is Tea, Theft and Scones which is a funny story about Abbie and Becka trying to find out who is stealing stuff from people's porches in town and than all of a sudden they are suspects.

The Eight one is Dead of Night by Cheryl Bradshaw a story with family members ending up dead. Many twists and turns in this one. it will keep you guessing.

The Ninth one is Lilah by Midnight by Carra Copelin. Lilah the country singer and Jack the sheriff in Mistletoe, Texas. Lilah and Jack were high school sweethearts until they went their separate ways. Lilah ends up back in Mistletoe when her motor coach breaks down on her way to a singing engagement. can they be given a second chance at happiness?

The Tenth one is Overcome by Jenna Bennett which was good.

The Eleventh one is Running From Shadows by Danielle Stewart which was also good.

I have read 3 of these books. I would of gladly paid full price for any of the three that I read. They are all fast paced reads with twist & turns.

Dead of Night by Cheryl Bradshaw in 2 days & enjoyed it immensely!! I did not figure out the killer until the last page. To me that says a lot. I'm always trying to figure out who did it before I'm told. Isn't that what we read mystery & thrillers for? I love Cheryl's books because I'm always surprised that the outcome. She is one of my go to readers for all her books!!

Shots Fired by Stacy Green was another favorite of mine. She is now a reader I will be checking out on a regular basis. I love getting new authors.I loved the hostage situation & her characters were great. I will definitely read more of her books.

Overcome by Jenna Bennett. She is another new author for me. This was another book in the series that kept me on my toes waiting for the outcome. I will be adding her to my TBR pile for sure!!

All of these were great books that you will enjoying spending some time with the characters & regret when you have to leave them. Or at least that is how I feel when I finish a great book. I hope you enjoy them as well as I did!!

~*~ Obsessed by Books copy received in exchange for an honest review ~*~

As a huge fan of Amity Cross this is a one click must as it includes an exclusive novella and the rest was an excellent bonus for me! I must say I was taken aback by the quality and diversity of writing styles and talent featured in this fabulous box set. All have a connecting theme of lead characters that are in or have been in the service in one way or another. The stories are short snappy and capture your attention from the opening paragraph. The stories are well written with a perfect blend of intrigue, danger and lust to male each and every one worth reading.

Drawn by one author I have now been introduced to more that I will be adding to my TBR. I recommend this box set to anyone who is looking for concise hot reads that are perfect to warm you up now those chilly nights are rolling in!

A five star protect and serve read.

This is another wonderful SEAL love story from the mind of Sharon Hamilton.

Zak was prankster in his youth which got him into some hot water at times. Sleeping with the Police Chiefs daughter didn't help matters much either. Inspired by an old teammate, he joined the Navy. Now he is going to become a SEAL. He will let nothing stop him from becoming one. Especially the Police Chief's daughter. He has always loved her, but now is not the time to start anew.

Amy let Zak go once, and when he went into BUD/s, she agreed to let him go again. She knows deep down that he is the one for her though. So when she needs someone to comfort her, he is the only one she really wants with her.

I love how Zak knew what he wanted and went after it. He never let his focus wander. When he achieved his goal and Amy reached out to him, he took the leap for more.

Every story was worthy of this anthology. The stories contained awesome alpha hero/heroine male and female characters that made this reader impressed. There were several stories that kept me on my toes and had a great scare factor. Complimenting this were other stories of lost loves and second chances. There are stories with fun and antics. There are stories with deadly consequences. I found all of these stories very enjoyable. The stories touch on many issues in the lives of those who protect and serve in real life. I found this a great opportunity to experience new authors and I encourage other readers to use this method to meet these talented authors.

I read the first three books in the anthology.

The first by JaHensley I loved. It was a 5 star for me. I loved the backstory of our female lead and how the characters met and interacted. I also loved how their relationship progressed in such a short story

The second book I couldn't really get into. Something about it held me back. I don't know if it was the writing or just the story itself. I ended up skimming it to see how it ended.

The third book was by amity cross and a 5 star read for me. I loved reading about Charlotte and how she met her fighter. I loved how amity pulled us in to the forbidden romance and the trouble she got herself into. And also, how she got out. Loved it!

My Review is only for Her Secret Wish by J.M Madden

Let's start this off by saying I'm a huge fan of JM Maddens LNF series. So with that being said finally reading about a woman's story makes my heart so happy! We meet Rachel in the series and have wondered about her story? Will she find her 'one'. What has happened to make her a 'Combat Modified' military.

Well JM Madden writes such an amazing story that we surely fall in love with not only Rachel but with Dean too!

It's a almost love at first sight book and it warms your heart. When two paths cross and sparks fly and love is built and a love is born. Loved everything about this read.

Highly recommended for any romance lover!!

Protect and Serve: Soldiers, SEALs and Cops is an awesome collection. I loved this collection of authors and stories. Each story is a fairly quick read, so this is a great collection for those with limited reading time or someone wanting to find new authors to read. I've been a fan of J.M. Madden, Sharon Hamilton, Allie K. Adams and Hildie McQueen and as always...Wow! They delivered fantastic stories. Amity Cross, Stacy Green, Jamie Lee Scott, Cheryl Bradshaw, Carra Copeland, Jenna Bennett and Danielle Stewart are authors I'm not as familiar with, but I enjoyed their stories also. These were all complete stories, not cliff-hangers.

This review is based only on the J.M. Madden story.

This one opened with a bang. I hated that Rachel was hurt, especially because it gave her flashbacks to being hurt when she was a Marine. The only good thing that came out of this was her meeting Dean. I loved how as Rachel out of it, she overshared with how good looking she thought Dean was. Just as good was how smitten Dean was, even better was how Dean kept showing up to be there for Rachel. I loved how Dean asked what Rachel needed, how she phrased her answer and Dean's response of done. It was perfect!

I received this anthology from Give me Books in return for an honest review and release blitz post.

This is a very entertaining compilation of various short stories featuring police officers. Who doesn't love a man in uniform... I could not resist this read.

I have to say that a lot of the stories in this anthology were captivating and thrilling reads. Just as I suspected, there are some less to my taste being a little less intense or less of an emotional roller coaster, but overall really great, fun read.

As always with Amity, it's love at first word. This novella in the Protect and Serve collection is a hit. Charlotte, a detective with the police tries to go undercover at The Underground, an underground fighting ring. What happens when she meets Rebel, the number one fighter at The Underground and sparks fly? Will she give up her hope of cracking the case of The Underground, or is Rebel enough to keep her from exposing the ring and ending up with him instead. find out in this awesome read!!!

So many great stories

Loved this box set, can across a few new authors I am sure I will be reading more of their work. If you have not read this collection you really should. There are a lot of cops, criminals and some HEA. There is Russian gang, underground fighters, hostage situation, and terrorists attack. This could have been 5stars one of the books dragged a little.

Stacy Green is back with Shots Fired: A Cage Foster mystery. I am a Stacy Green fan and bought this collection specifically for this novella. I was not disappointed either. I am sure that the rest of these novellas will be good as well.

After having read three of the stories included in this grouping, I think this is a great read. I appreciate these short stories by all of these known authors and look forward to reading more of their stories.
