Spoiler alert! The winner of the contest is ......... no I won't tell, but you can probably guess. The contest is a brain game between Dirk school and Ella Mentary school. You'll never believe who won? I'm not going to tell you. Ok, ok, but you have to read the next chapter.-arlo jurves

Miss Brown walks on her hands into the class. They have contests in the auditorium at Dirk School. They build cars and bridges made out of toothpicks.

September 10, 2026-I received this audiobook from NetGalley-
I listened to this with my 10 year old son.
He really liked the challenges that happened in this book, even came up with ideas to build on them. He liked the catch phrases that were repeated, as he would say them along with the narrator. He really enjoyed it and wanted to make some creations of his own.
I highly would recommend this book. Not only did it have the similar elements to previous books, but the adult (Miss Brown) was a really likeable character. She challenged the kids to do things differently, not because the way they were doing it was wrong. But instead tried to make them think why not try to do it differently? I liked that approach as sometimes the idea of needing to do something different is more of a hard stop then being curious about how you could do it differently.
The challenge at the end was most entertaining, with the different tasks and how they were participated in.
Also the narrator does a great job with these books, and has really made the characters unique in their own way.

I listened to Miss Brown Is Upside Down! with my 10-year-old son, and he laughed throughout the whole thing! I laughed too, although mine was more of a “this is so absurd, I can’t believe I’m laughing at it” kind of reaction. 😂
The humor is silly, ridiculous, and over the top, which was exactly what made it such a hit with him. Listening together made this audiobook even more fun, and his laughter was easily my favorite part of the experience.
Four stars for an entertaining listen that kept my son laughing and gave us something fun to enjoy together!
Thank you to NetGalley, HarperAudio Children’s, and author Dan Gutman for the opportunity to listen to and review this audiobook. All opinions are my own.

They are starting the brain games and before they start they have to build a bridge and build a car. But when they start the first game there is a bunch of questions and they hit the buzzer. They first person to answer correctly wins 10 points. The second round is something where they put a bunch of weight on their bridge and it's worth 100 points because they have to make their bridge be stronger than 100 pounds. Their school wins the bridge round. Then they have to write a poem about garbage but they don't have much time so they just make one up and say it.
I like this book because it is really, really silly!

LFL find. Very light and short, but still satisfying enough that I'll read more in the series if I can find them easily. I'm guessing that different books are from different students' points of view - in this one A.J. learns that being G&T is a good thing.

This one made the boy laugh several times: Brain Games, Death Machine with Rocket launcher, Fartmobile, etc.

I rated it a 4 because it was better than a 3. I think their school should win the brain games because they are smarter. Read the book to find out what happens.

Weird book
This story is a weird, but wild tale about being in school and having to use your brain in creative ways. I think this should be a required reading for all youths, it will help them think outside the box of normality!

Dan Gutman understands young reader’s humor and has created a fantastic book formula to draw in even the most reluctant of readers. The My Weird School series is perfect for students to practice their reading skills with its repetitive yet hysterical narrative and story lines. But don’t mention that part to your kiddos, they might run away in fear they could learn something! A must have collection for any grade school library or classroom!
In this edition Miss Brown has walking into Elle Mentary's third grade classroom on her hands to get the students excited about creative ways of doing everything. Hopefully this creativity will help them win in the big competition against their rival school Dirk.

This book is about a young boy named AJ who thinks it's lame to be smart even though he is in the Gifted and Talented program! His school goes against their rival school in s Brain Game Challenge!!! As AJ is elected one of the two presidents of their team, he and his partner Andrea (the know it all in the classroom) work together to answer random questions! They build a bridge and also a crazy car! They race to beat their rival school. Read to see which team will win!!! I would recommend this book to teachers and parents who have children who are so intelligent but think it is weird to be the smart kid in the class.
