What a great book this is. I'd say this book is ideal for everyone from precocious and driven ten year olds, to high school students, to those in their early twenties. I would even bet money that people over 30 would find something useful in this book, but it doesn't recommend gambling so I can't, heh.

It's often exclaimed that we don't teach kids about money and finances any more, and that they don't learn any of those skills in school. This book goes over all of that and then some. It's packaged as a "How to make $1,000,000" book, as that gets kids's attention, but it's basically all about setting goals, achieving them, and working hard for what you want. The book goes over everything from bank vs. credit union, to budgeting, to the stock market. There are even sections which humorously advise against stealing to make your money. Really great explanations of interest rates. And a handy glossary of finance terms.

It's really good at getting the reader excited about making and saving money. I wish I had this book when I was just out of high school. And it's all told in a very interesting way, even for those with short attention spans. Very short concise sections, lots of fun flow-charts, and several places where you fill out your own lists in order to figure out and achieve your goals. And it is very user-friendly. You don't have to know anything about money to understand this book, even as it explains what compound interest is, or how to track your investments.

I'm putting my money where my reviewing mouth is, and I plan to get a copy both for my 23 year old daughter and my 25 year old son. They are at extremely different stages of their lives right now and this book should help teach them both how to prepare for life - a lot better than I taught them, because I didn't even have all this information as they were growing up.

Quite a bit of thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to see an advance copy of this book for review. In return they're going to sell at least three books, because who am I kidding, I need a copy of this book too.

The book I read was How To Turn $100 Into $1,000,000 This book was pretty good but I probably would have never picked it up unless we had to read non-fiction, which we did for a book choice. This book was about, well the title how to turn little money into more money.
This was a non-fiction book written in second person because it kept saying “You, you you.” This book talked about the stock market from some famous people who went from rags to riches and in general how to turn that tiny stash of cash into quite a bit of mula. The stock market is all about getting money faster than just putting it into a bank account making the little money from the interest and maybe even the compound interest. It says how it’s great but also you can lose money if you make the wrong decision. Also about the rags to riches it talks about Warren Buffet and again the stock market and how he invested money into a company many people overlooked thinking that it would never turn out good, but with his wits and knowledge he has made over 80 billion today. The book also has a very tiny section about making your own business and how some kids all over the world have created tiny companies to make some extra cash. This one girl was trying to find magnet decorations for her locker but couldn’t because there wasn’t many at the time, so the girl took $1000 and made little magnets selling 20,000 items every month.
To critique this book and say the strengths and weakness is pretty easy really. The one complaint I have is that the author adds way to much about putting money into a bank account it’s really kind of irritating reading 50 of the 70 some pages be about interest. To me that's really boring and if you already state it in the book twice I think you have made the point clear. The strengths of this book is the fact that the authors know what they are writing about very well, but then the weakness is not making or stating new topics we don’t know as an audience already. This book was a very easy and relaxed read and I flew through it like a Diary of a Wimpy kid. It only took like 3 weeks to read which is really fast for me. Also the author is very credible and I can trust them a lot because the authors are the creators of Biz Kids and other money making websites and stuff. I also agree with the author's words and statements because I know half the stuff already is true.
To conclude this book review this was very good but also some stuff was stated too many times. Anyone would love this book if they enjoy facts and easy ways to make money like me. This was also a very easy and quick read so I would recommend this book to many.

If you were planning on starting a business and you want to make a lot of money you should read this. It's also a good book if you are into finances and investing money because in the further run you will ake a lot of money do that. The writer is trying to say you your money wise if you spend it and save alot of it.
You also need to invest your money into things but make sure you're not making bad investments because that is a good way to lose your money. If you go to the movies don't go overload on snacks and stuff because every little thing you buy adds up and it becomes expensive.
Another key point the author brought up was never gambling because she knows you could win motherload but it is such a small chance and you can lose so much money
The book is giving you tips on how to make a lot of money from a little bit of money. It is a powerful piece of writing. It is very convincing but it is not easy it is a lot of work. The strengths of this book are that it has very powerful tips but the tips are very hard like starting a business that is very hard to have a successful one. I agree with the author's conclusion but like what I said it's not just easy to do this-this is alot of work
The book left me with a good ending and If you tried super hard you could probably succeed. I also loved the format of the book because it was super helpful

An informative guide on earning, saving, and investing, just as the title suggests. Though I'm not sure if I'll aim for the full million, I learned a lot from this book.
I'd recommend it for anyone, 10+ years old, who's even vaguely interested in budgeting, saving, starting a small business, investing, earning money. High school students would benefit most from this book, I think, and I'll probably give it a re-read in a few years.

This book is about how to save your money up and how to reach a million hence the name "how to to turn 100 into 1,000,000" , the book pretty much tells you to save but it gives you tips on investing and other things like that. I didn't like how the first 5 pages pretty much just tells you to save but after that it gets better. But for the most part I loved this book and learned a lot from it and maybe one day I will be a millionaire. I recommend this book to Natalia.

This is a great book for kids that want to know more about money. It should be on every parent's shelf, in every Library, and in every school. Starting with the basics of how to get money, moving to how to save that money, and going on to show how to make that money grow, "How to Turn $100 into $1,000,000" will inspire kids (and adults) to make goals and aim high. We can all be millionaires. Start now!
I will be recommending this book for our school district to purchase! Even I learned a few things from it.

I'm not sure who this book is for... at least for age group. I thought it was for middle grade, and it's certainly written at that level, but they seem to be talking to teenagers with a lot of what they're saying. So what I'm doing is giving this to my special ed teacher who can use it for some financial literacy programming with our high school students. I think it would work really well for that.

This book was amazing and very helpful and I have started to make money and save from it. If you are thinking about buying this book or have it you should definitely read it it is a very funny and wise book it teaches you a lot and is very help full like how to start your first job what is a good first job and how to start saving that money and making money to make a 1,000,000. The book teaches you how to set a responsible goal to reach that money goal you set. Because only if you are making a lot of money you can’t have a feasible goal of making a million dollars in a year. A lot of kids are going to try and make a lot of money really quick but that is not how it works and they need someone to explain that not just say you can’t do that kids and some people don’t get that books explain what one million dollars is actually is and how to earn that much.
If you are younger than fifteen or a bit older than that and haven’t been able to find a first job it might be scary and challenging sometimes it’s actually pretty hard to find your first job. Well this book tells you good first jobs like cleaning horse trailers, taco topper, mopping stores, restaurants etc. But when you find the job how are you going to get it. Just walk up and say gimme the job no. You have to go and ask if there are any job openings and if there is ask if you can reply and all the millionaires like Bill Gates he had to start with a crappy first job. So I hope you read the book i only mentioned a little of the stuff in this awesome funny book.

I teach financial literacy at the high school level and am always looking for books to help connect my students to information and resources to help them on their own financial literacy journey.

This is a great book for middle to high school students; I have even had seniors say they love what a quick read this is and what a good foundation of information it provides them of basic financial literacy concepts.

I love that the book has interactive components (suggestions for budgeting templates, brainstorm sheets for business planning, etc.) and encourages the reader to DO while they learn.

The book is very surface level when it comes to finance information, but if this is a first interaction with financial concepts, it's a great one. It is easy to read, broken up into sensical chapters, and designed like a graphic novel or infographic. It makes reading, learning and thinking about financial concepts ENGAGING and INTERESTING. For these reasons, I think it appeals to all types of readers whether they be visual, spatial, and/or text preferential.

My only suggestion is that I wish the book provided "next step" resources for readers including websites or suggested "next reads" for those who are interested and want to keep going with their own financial education.

I look forward to using this book in both my financial literacy and entrepreneurship courses this year!

This would make a great gift for young adults (I'd say ages 10-high school, depending on the learner) who are interested in learning about money, investing, and/or starting a business.

The book “How to Turn $100 into $1,000,000” is singular and astounding! This book is for all ages. It gives you many tips and tricks to become a bona fide millionaire. It offers information on how to start your own business, teaches about how to save appropriately and compound interest, how to get a stock and how to choose the right stock market, and some terrible mistakes you could make along the way to make you lose a lot of money. Last but not least, it even gives you activities where you can write and keep track of your budget as well as a business plan page. The authors make this book funny and enthralling with lavish illustrations, so you won’t fall asleep staring at the first page. If you buy the book and follow the advice, you have a high chance of getting one million. Happy saving!

I received an electronic ARC from Workman Publishing Company through NetGalley.
This second edition updates the information to include current economic information. Money management is an area younger readers need to hear more about. McKenna's guide uses simple to follow text for middle grade readers and above. The chapters cover basic information and strategies to encourage readers to think about and plan for the future. I appreciate the text boxes included to offer examples, definitions, and further information to pursue. It serves as an introduction for younger readers and a refresher for older ones.

This book was clearly written for the teenager; however, I’m 36 and just learned and re-learned many things in this quick read. I mostly read it all today. While I don’t need help remembering how to get my first $100 - though the ideas are still good reminders for me today if needed - or how to write a basic resume, it gave me good ideas in how to start and run a business, different types of investment areas beyond stocks and pitfalls to avoid. Again, quick read that I definitely recommend for anyone interested in this area. I wish I had this information in high school.

Meh. I was disappointed in this book and don't actually think it delivered on the title. Some of that is my fault. I missed that this is intended for children. As an intro to the importance of general money management, it was fine. For a 10 year old, it's... fine. Not awesome but, fine. I feel very adrfit when it comes to investing. I know that very basics but not much more and I found this book to have zero new information. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Whatever I was reading that put this book on my radar said it was great for all ages and I strongly disagree 🤷🏻‍♀️

A good introduction to finances for young adults and children, but nothing revolutionary. Certainly not a book for "getting rich quickly" if that's your thing. Goes over the various strategies to earn a million dollars, emphasizing saving and starting your own business. Touches on the stock market and other investment strategies, but mainly focuses on saving your money.

A fun book with funny ways to teach us about earning, saving & investing, also some jokes included.
For earning, nothing but working to get paid and then deposit. And last part, inevitably, is about investing.

Read this to see if it might be something for my teens to read. It was O.K. but not revolutionary. A good basic book about finances. Maybe worth reading for a teen who is interested in starting to earn, save, and invest. Elementary-aged kids may like it even more.

I got this as an ebook thinking it would have something I didn't already know. This would be a good reading in 2024 for a middle schooler at this time. The information is not dated but just something that is lacking.

I read this to see if it would be good for my niece who I'm trying to introduce to handling money herself as she's almost old enough to get a job. It made the concepts easy to understand and applied them to the real world in a way I felt kept it interesting and helped build a deeper understanding.
