I'm really enjoying this series! One may think reading about farm life in early 20th century WI could be dull, but I am fascinated in how they lived as it is different than the technological, commerical world in which I live and yet, some things never change over the centuries like sibling spats/make-ups; childhood wonder of ice cream, bicycles, and other simple things; and family support during grievous times. I am so looking forward to the next three books! Again, I recommend for young readers and family read alouds.

i read this around… four years ago, when i was eight or so, and i know i loved it. it’s so simple and sweet, the family love is incredible.
