A satisfying category romance from Entangled’s new Lovestruck imprint…
Love thy sexy jerk of a neighbor…
CEO Michael Anderson might be something of a “control freak.” Still, he’s not quite sure why his therapist thinks dogsitting will fix anything—especially since he and the canine share a kind of mutual loathing. And to make matters worse, a house sitter moves in next door disrupting his peace—and his dates—with the worst possible music at the worst possible time... every time.
Free-spirited artist Mia Argaropolis has settled into the perfect gig—housesitting in NYC’s Upper West Side while working as an art therapist. Too bad she’s stuck living next door to a bossy control freak with a penchant for calling building security when she blasts music to drown out the noises coming through his bedroom wall.
Post-apocalyptic dinner rolls that nearly take her kitchen with them, a douchebag ex, and a Shih Tzu with the personality of Godzilla attack Mia in one day, and her unlikely neighbor comes to the rescue. Like it was her fault. And now, somehow, they find themselves engaged? Both agree, this neighborly feud just got taken to a whole new level.

I really enjoy Marissa Clarke’s writing style, and the first book in the Anderson Brothers series was one of my stand-out reads of 2014. Book two; Neighbors with Benefits gives us Michael Anderson’s story. Uptight, stuffy and as the CEO of the Anderson family business empire he is almost constantly aware of being on his best behavior for appearances sake, as such free-spirited Mia Argaropolis, doesn’t really fit in with the mould he believes his life should fit into.
”I always go all in.”
Although I found this addition to the series pretty enjoyable, I struggled for a lot of the book to understand why these two people would be attracted to each other, and for the most part it seemed to be due to the inclusion of Clancy, the Shih Tzu. That-said as things progress, the author does take a bit of the stuff and bluster out of Michael and make him a little easier to empathise with.
Mia I felt similarly for, and initially I would go as far as to say I disliked her a bit, but once things start to progress you see that there is more to her than the initial impression she gives you of herself, I suppose I should be telling myself off for making snappy judgements about someone, even if it is a fictional character!
I read this book while on vacation, and it was an enjoyable and easy-going read, with plenty of entertainment, not too much drama and the verbal sparring between them both, not to mention Michael and his brothers at points was absolutely hilarious.
”I’m so sorry I forgot to ask; did you want catsup with those fries?”
Chance will hopefully be along soon with his story, being the youngest brother, I am guessing tying him down will be even more of a challenge than it has so far been for Will and Michael, and I cannot wait to see what the author does with his story!

Michael Anderson, stuffed shirt businessman who wants everything in order in his life, meets Mia Argaropolis, artist and basically anything but orderly. Sparks fly, disaster strikes often, and in the midst of all that, romance happens.
-Had the feel of a screwball comedy, at first: Then things settled into a humorous, not too wacky read. Their first meet was probably the most screwball yet fun, and there are some very adorable moments with the Queen Bs and Clancy, the dog. The humor never went too crazy and was paced fairly well.
-Michael and Mia have decent chemistry...: The big three (first meet, first kiss, first love scene) were a mixed bag for me. The first meet and kiss were very good, the first love scene took quite a while to get to and was a bit of a disappointment. Their feelings changed like lightning, instead of feeling gradual and organic to the story. It could change in the space of a paragraph and I wanted to side more with Mia, but the miscommunications...oy vey.
-The dreaded Big Mis: Those miscommunications were pretty much all at Mia’s feet and I wish it had been a bit more even in terms of screwups. The big ones, which lead to their separation, were all Mia jumping to conclusions, which wasn’t as satisfying for me.
It was cute, though the miscommunications felt a bit forced and didn’t quite work for me. It was an enjoyable enough afternoon read that I would give this series another shot.

So the second book in this series kept me laughing quite a few times. The author does know how to keep us entertained with her characters. Mia and Michael are so different in their every day life, but at the same time, they are both driven.
Imagining these two getting along together for more than a few minutes was hard to imagine in the beginning, but as they relationship grows, you notice how they complete one another. She needs more organization in her life and he needs to be more loose.
This is really a short review but it doesn't mean that I haven't enjoyed this book because the four stars will tell you that I did enjoy this, but I have yet to master doing a review without giving too much to a future reader.
Just know that this book is kind of short, but it's filled with entertainment. Both characters have a lot to learn and maybe two weeks was crazy fast to learn it all, but who cares ;)
I'm looking forward to read about the next brother. I have yet to imagine what kind of girl or boy (who knows really) would go with him.
Wow, this book was fun to write. I'm so grateful for all the readers who have given me the opportunity to have the greatest job in the world and for showing me so much love over the years and across genres. Thank you. I hope you love Michael and Mia as much as I do. Oh, and Clancy. He's my favorite.
Mia and Michael are opposites. Mia is a free-spirit artist who floats from place to place with no permanent home. Michael is CEO of his family company. His life is all about order and control, work first with no real time for a personal life. Michael lives in the same upscale apartment building where Mia is house sitting. When Mia hears some sexual noises coming from the other side of the wall, she turns up the music which chases away Michael's dates and he complains to management about her. What starts off as enemies quickly turns into friendship with Michael helps out Mia when dealing with her crazy ex. There is some crazy hot sexual tension between these two characters and when they finally give in - it was HOT! I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more by this author.
In this delightful romance, straight-laced Michael has his hands full with his new housesitting neighbor Mia, a free spirited gal who is just as good at hiding her real self as Michael is. When the sparks fly between them, can they find enough common ground to consider a future together?
I really enjoyed this story! It's the second in the Anderson Brother's series (though easily read as a standalone) and Michael is the one who is always in control of every situation. He has to be that way, as he is constantly in the public eye as a successful businessman and eligible bachelor. His relationships consist of easy non-sleepover dates and he's wary of getting into any kind of relationship. Mia is wonderful as a fun loving artist, slightly awkward but effusive in her love of life. She's constantly getting into minor scrapes and for Michael, she's the epitome of the wrong type of woman for him, yet he can't help his attraction to her. His therapist's attempt to lighten him up by having him housesit her dog wreaks all sorts of havoc in his tightly controlled life, not the least of which is his dog's obvious affection for Mia over him. There is definite sexual chemistry between Michael and Mia and though it's a slow burn, they eventually succumb to their attraction in some steamy and fun scenes. I enjoyed Michael's interactions with his brothers too as they witness him falling apart over the girl next door. It was a fun and entertaining story! 4 stars.

People call Michael Anderson, CEO of the enterprise he own with his two brothers, rich and stuck-up. He would say organized and efficient. But everyone can agree he's single-minded and when Michael set his mind on something, you won't make him lose his focus. This time, his mind is set on someone. Someone totally unsuitabled for him, or so he thinks : the free-spirited woman who moved in next door three weeks ago.
Mia is a painter who teach art at a retirement community. She's currently house-sitting to the appartment next to an uptight man who filed complaints for her music being too loud but she do what she can to cover the sound of his ladies companion.
To save her face in front of her ex, even if she totally can held her own, Michael pretend to be Mia's fiancé and agree to go with her to their friend's wedding. As if Michael's life didn't already start to go downhill because of the "pretty tornado", he now have to foster a dog for a couple of weeks, thanks to his shrink who think it'll break his routine and make him more flexible. But Michael never considered dogs as a person. And that's when he accept to take her in when she's evicted from the lodging that his life will really change.
"You show me how to get organized, and I'll show you how to loosen up and not be a stick-in-the-mud."
Mia might me outspoken and impulsive, but that doesn't make her irresponsible and she's totally realistic. She wants a man who loves her for her and not be distracted by sex, even if Michael is definitively tempting.
It took me about one third of the book before warming up to the characters (especially the hero). For me, it became more interesting when they get to know each other than when they were bickering at the beginning. But it's always great to see how two opposite people get attracted to each other but mostly how they make it work.. I like the trope of businessman learning how to loosen up but it's no secret the whole wealth thing always kind of annoy me. I realize now that when Michael and Mia were alone I really enjoyed the book but it's when they were with other people that things become more trivial.
Now there's only one brother left and from the blurb of his book it promise to be a pretty emotional journey.
We've all heard opposites attract and I agree with that to a point and author Marissa Clarke drives that point home in Neighbors With Benefits. A lot of times people seem opposites on the outside but on the inside a lot of time those "opposites" shares a lot of the same qualities. A successful but rigid businessman finds his life turned upside down by his next door neighbor's spontaneous artist house sitter. From their first chance meeting, to their first verbal showdown, to his very spontaneous rescue from her old lover, to her forcing him to reevaluate the way he lives his life, to their intensely hot intimate scenes and the realization that despite their differences they have a special connection made this a thoroughly enjoyable story.
The differences between Michael Anderson, CEO of Anderson Enterprises and Mia Argaropolis, a house/pet sitting artist who also does art therapy at a senior citizen's facility are wide. Michael is the epitome of organization and scheduled and Mia is well...not. After an incident that leaves Mia basically homeless at least for a short while, Michael makes her an offer she knows she should refuse but doesn't want winds up sleeping on his couch. I loved the way these two after being so annoyed with each other began to understand and appreciated all the unusual and interesting little things about each other. Mia appreciated the way Michael opened doors for her, the way he "saw" her art and they way he defended her uniqueness to her supposed friends. Consequently just the fact that Michael saw Mia as someone special went a long way to seeing past his self absorbed and stringent ways. I loved watching Michael try to help Mia become more aware of her schedule and the way he helped her out of a couple of jams and the way Mia tried to make Michael look at the world and his life a little bit differently.
Neighbors With Benefits featured a great group of characters (including some fantastic secondary ones), smart dialogue, some comical moments as well as some super sexy ones making it an ideal romance.
Entangled’s Lovestruck imprint is all about finding love where you least expect it, with hilarious “meet-cutes”. For me, when I think of Lovestruck, I think of tons of laugh out loud moments. Neighbors with Benefits has that in spades. I seriously had a smile on my face the WHOLE time I was reading the book. To me, that’s just unheard of.
Michael Anderson and Mia Argaropolis are two opposites who shouldn't want anything to do with each other, but burnt bread, an overflowed bathtub, an uncontrollable dog and a jerk of an ex bring these two together.
Michael is all about control and order. He’s the CEO of Anderson Enterprises and his first day off in over a year is about to change his life forever. Mia is a free-spirit. She’s a talented artist who lives a nomadic life by housesitting for various people. She’s also a little flighty. This flightiness actually causes her to meet Michael. The two have this love-hate relationship with amazing chemistry and playful zingers.
I found the second book in Marissa Clarke’s Anderson Brothers Series to be just fabulous. Michael is still a little of a mystery to me, since I don’t understand why he had to live such a structured life, but I loved watching Mia turn his world on its axis. I’m now rushing to read the first book, Sleeping with the Boss.

This is the second book in the Anderson's series. I have to say Marissa did not disappoint me in this book. Michael Anderson is your typical CEO corporate, control freak and playboy. Mia Argaropolis is your typical free spirited and flighty women. Or are they? When these two meet up it is not a match made in heaven. It is quit the opposite. These two are so far from the same and yet they have compassion even if one hides it. This books is good read and I would recommend it to my family and friends. It is about growth and love and learning who one is. Two people balancing the other out and ultimately seeing beyond the surface. I loved the dog in this book he plays a big part in this book. Clancy has a huge part in this book. He helps in more ways than one to bring these two together. Buy he is also good for the soul. Thank you Marissa for another great read. I can't wait for the next installment of the next Anderson brother.
Michael Anderson is one sexy “control freak” I wouldn't mind controlling me.
The second installment of the Anderson Brothers series shows the story of Michael,a sexy CEO, and Mia, a free spirited artist. They are completely different, but yet almost the same. It's true what they say about opposites attract but I think the addition of the cute little doggy Clancy that brought these two together.
This is a great read and I love the humor that comes from these two butting heads and fighting their feelings. The whole book flowed so well I couldn't put it down. Marissa Clarke is a great wordsmith and knows how to tell a compelling story that makes you want to go on the journey of the characters she creates. I'm telling you that this is a must read.
I loved this book and finished it in a day! Marissa Clarke has done a wonderful job of bringing together to very different characters and making their love story a one of a kind. People say opposites attract but sometimes what seems like opposites may be the same. The characters were awesome, they didn't feel cookie cut but like real people we all may know. The story line flows very well, without being rushed or dragged. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a great new read!! Ms. Clarke has a wonderful writing style and you wont be disappointed !!!!
Michael and Mia couldn't be more different and I loved getting to be in their heads. Their banter and back and forth was tension filled and really kept the story moving. Usually, the push and pull can irritate me, but with everything wrapped up in an arrangement, it was fabulous.
Loved the plot, loved the characters, loved the ending. All in all, it was a quick, fun read. I'll definitely be checking out the other books in the series.
**Huge thanks to Entangled for the invitation to read the arc**
Loved this book! It was a super fun read with interesting characters that made the story come to life. Free spirited Mia was perfect for the always serious business minded Michael. She brought a side of him to life with her snarky banter and quick wit. Michael was good for her too! Building confidence and a desire for a full life for herself is just what Mia needs.
This is one you will want on the must read list. I highly recommend it.
Insta lust type of story which is kind of boring. The heroine is a clumsy, highly distracted and forgetful woman. Hero is a stuck up who acts nice too soon after their meeting - it didn’t make me want to keep reading because there was no anticipation. So I stopped. At chapter 4. Boring.
Neighbors with Benefits is a standalone novel, despite being book 2 in the Anderson Brothers series. I actually haven’t read book 1, but I sure will, because I got intrigued about how the couple in it became how they are in book 2.
So, Neighbors with Benefits is actually different than what I thought it’d be. I thought we would get a hot CEO that was a complete jerk and who would keep “fighting” with the sassy heroine. That actually happens, but Michael Anderson isn’t the jerk, or the player, everyone, and specially Mia, think he is. I LOVED Michael and all his “stuck-upness”.
This story isn’t your typical control-freak CEO meets girl and starts having kinky sex with her. Another thing I thought it would be. Not that I’m complaining either way. I LOVE those CEO books, but I also enjoyed THIS book a LOT! It was super funny and the characters have the kind of chemistry that is so great to see in Romantic Comedy books.
The banter between Michael and Mia is super funny and they are so cute together. I love how they balance each other out. Mia gives Michael’s life the colorful and mess it needs, while Michael brings the responsibility and organization that comes with his control-freak ways that Mia so needs!
Michael and Mia meet while she is house-sitting for Michael’s neighbor. But what Mia doesn’t know is that the hot guy she just met is the one that keeps complaining to the building management about her. Mia is a total free spirit. She is messy, she is noisy, she is everything Michael’s therapist prescribed him…Oh and she is a total dog person. And Michael is taking care of a dog assigned to him by said therapist.
After a lot of messed up situations, one of them that brings Mia to become homeless, she goes to live with Michael, to babysit for him. And there, their friendship really starts growing. Michael is instantly attracted to Mia, from their first encounter, and so is she. But Michael she isn’t interested in just being another one. She wants picnics in the beach and flowers in bed, and she thinks Michael is all about the player life. Which is so far from the truth….
Michael is completely focused on his work, in his family company. From his two brothers, he is the most focused one on that. All work and all serious. So yeah, you can say he really needs Mia in his life.
And between all that, in order to help and save Mia from her ex, Michael starts a story about her being his fiancé, so he actually is her date for her best friend’s wedding.
Now…about Mia’s friends…I didn’t like them AT ALL. They all took her for granted, and were borderline bullies in their behavior. Like Mia couldn’t get herself a job, a home and a boyfriend. She not only does all that, but she’s got the most eligible boyfriend EVER! Go Mia!!
The problem is that it’s not true…or is it? I get Mia’s reticence in giving herself to Michael, just as I get his own reticence in showing to the world he can settle down…And in the middle of all that, there’s also Mia’s friends in the retirement center she works in (she is a volunteer and has comissionated some paintings, she’s an artist, but seems like not everyone knows this side of her) and Michael’s new dog and the business he is trying to win…Well, they all have their plates full. But when it comes to love…nothing is full enough that we can’t get a little space for love, right?
What I like most about this book, besides the banter and funny moments, is the fact that the hero and the heroine truly work together (when they get their heads out of their asses LMAO). They complement each other perfectly, and with Michael, Mia can be her true self. She can show the parts of her that she kept locked and didn’t even show her friends. Michael is also a changed man after Mia, even his brothers can see it. He not only gets less serious, and more humble, but he truly learns a lot with her, and it even helps him in his business.
The only problem is that, despite working so well together, they can also combust together. When you are clumsy, free and crazy as Mia and all prim and proper like Michael, it’s a recipe for disaster. But it might also be recipe for a great love story!!!
Michael Andersen is the CEO of Andersen Enterprises. He is very rigid in how things should be done. He has a routine he follows to the T and everything must be in order. The only thing he lives for is his business. He has no other interests. His life changes dramatically when he meets the person living next door when the fire alarm goes off. Mia Argaropolis is an artist who is house sitting for his neighbor. Mia is fun and flighty but has a hard time keeping focused. She forgot she was baking buns so she set the alarm off when she forgot about them. She also overflowed the tub because she forgot she left the water running.
Michael and Mia had never met but knew of each other because when Michael would have women over for sex, Mia could hear them through the wall. This prompted her to play really loud music to drown them out and to annoy Michael. They didn't like each other without even having met.
I loved this pair. Mia, not so much at first because she was just too flaky. She had low self-asteem and didn't think anyone would want to be with her. But she tried to convince herself that was okay. Michael was such a control freak that he had no fun in his life at all. He didn't see anything wrong with that though. When they finally meet, they are instantly attracted to each other but fought it because they didn't like the little they knew of each other.
The little Shih Tzu, Clancey, is so much fun in this story. Michael had been seeing a therapist for several years and she suggested he look after a dog all on his own for 3 weeks to help him loosen up and care about something other than his business. It took Michael a long time to actually call him by his name because he thought the entire idea of caring for the dog was ridiculous. Much to his surprise he eventually began to little the little dog.
This is a well written story that progresses smoothly. When Mia gets evicted from her house sitting job, Michael convinces her to move in with him to help with dog care. She agrees and it doesn't take long for them to see through each others personalities to the better qualities they have. Mia is to be the maid of honor at her friend's wedding and her ex is the best man. He goes to see Mia to talk her out of going to the wedding but when Michael heard the shouting, he wanted to help so he approached Mia and pretended to be her boyfriend. Continuing to help her save face, he went to the wedding with her which was good. But the accommodation was terrible!
I highly recommend this fun story and am so glad I received a complementary copy in exchange for an honest review.

I could easily see this book being made into a Hallmark movie, with more of a PG-13 rating, of course.
Hermia Lysander Argarapolis, Mia for short, is housesitting a pretty posh apartment. The only complaint she has is the guy next door. His female companions tend to get a little loud, forcing Mia to turn up her music. Which, in turn, causes him to call security. The owner of the apartment tells her if she gets one more call from security, she's fired. The problem is, Mia is a little scatterbrained, and she completely forgot to set the timer for the bread she put in the oven. Then, when the smoke from the oven causes the alarm to go off, she totally forgot to turn off the water she was running for her bath. Good thing a hunky neighbor stopped by to help. That is, until she realizes the neighbor offering his assistance is the one who calls security on her.
Michael Anderson is a hot shot CEO, who plans on being a bachelor forever. His company is the only thing he wants to be responsible for. But his therapist talks him into dog-sitting, so he'll stop being 'rigid'. He's so good at maintaining control in situations that, when he thinks his neighbor set the building on fire, he was already making plans to buy new clothes. However, he discovers she has only burnt something in the oven and tries to make sure none of the water from the overflowing tub seeps over into his apartment. He was only around Mia for a minute, but there was just something about her that makes him feel responsible for her too.
Mia's impulsiveness and Michael's controlling personality clash from time to time. It was a light-hearted read, not too much drama, but just enough to keep the story going. Romantic, at times, and the Queen B's were so funny, especially Gladys. There is an HEA ending and it can be read as a standalone. Recommended to fans of Romance!
**I was provided an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. I did not receive any compensation for providing my opinion.**
Neighbors with Benefits by Marissa Clarke is a fun book and I enjoyed it. It is a really simple love story and when you mix an up-tight business man with a free spirit, uninhibited artist together, you are bound to be entertained. It is a story about love, being true to yourself and letting your reservations go. It is a very quick read and I really want to read Chance’s story now.
Neighbors with Benefits is about Michael, a sexy, CEO that is a “control freak” and everything in his life is in order and predictable, and Mia Argaropolis, a free spirited artist that flits from place to place and makes no apologies for who she is. Even though there is instant attraction between them, the complete opposites in their personalities drive each other crazy. The sanest character in this story is probably the very perceptive Shih Tzu that seems to keep pulling Michael and Mia together.
While this is a fairly simple love story, it still was rather entertaining. The plot was great and moved along really well. The characters in this story were also a lot of fun, especially the other Anderson brothers. They dynamics in this book were great and left you engaged and invested in the story. This is the first book in the Anderson Brothers series that I have read and will need to go back and read book one.
I loved the first book in Marissa Clarke's Anderson Brothers series, Sleeping With the Boss, so to say I was excited to get my hands on Neighbors with Benefits is a wee bit of an understatement.
“And though she be but little, she is fierce.”
I have to be honest and say whilst I enjoyed Michael and Mia's romantic romp, they didn't quite match Will and Claire. Michael didn't woo me in the same way Will did; he and Mia have chemistry and are very loveable, but the tropes used didn't bring anything out of the ordinary. Mia's flight and sass does compliment Michael's more serious, sensible nature and when the time arises they do bring the sexy-time, but for me the slow-burn and build-up in the first half was a little steady and needed that bit more more to keep it held together.
Don't get me wrong, it is a good addition to the series, I love Marissa Clarke's writing style, and with the camaraderie between the three brothers along with Michael's dog-sitting escapades and Mia's golden girls bringing some great humour, it was a light, cute, fun, romantic read. And I am looking forward to seeing what awaits youngest brother, Chance.

Neighbors with Benefits begins when Michael Anderson comes home early one day after having to take responsibility of a dog he doesn't want due to appeasing his therapist. He comes home and the neighbor who is house sitting is blaring music again and creating all kinds of problems for his self control. But when he actually meets her, she's nothing at all like he thought she would be. Mia, who is a self proclaimed nomad, is just trying to make it in her world for right now. She longs for one day settling down and finding love, but she knows that won't come from Michael Anderson. But when these two can't seem to stay away from each other, and when helping each other gets complicated they must learn to work with the feelings that are developing or be forever alone.
This book was extremely good! I loved the whole plot line. It kept me hooked right from the start till the very last sentence. I laughed and got a little teary eyed in some parts of the story as well. Then the characters were extremely entertaining. Mia is a free spirit type of person who doesn't think about what she does, she just does it. And Michael is the exact opposite, he has to have a plan of attraction for everything before he does it. These two have lots of chemistry and funny moments between them! This is for sure a must read! I adored this one.
Ah. This book. It’s so cute and fun and seriously hot. I loved every minute of it! Neighbors with Benefits is one those stories you read when you’re looking for something a little lighter, something funny and above all, steamy.
I fell in love with Michael and Mia immediately. I loved how Mia was housesitting for Michael’s neighbor and without even knowing him, just knowing OF him and what she could hear through the walls, she loved making his life hell. It’s totally something I would have done in that situation. Hell, I HAVE done something like that in college. One of my neighbors was a huge lothario and we used to just play really loud annoying music whenever he had someone over. It beats hearing what they’re doing. And, Michael? Super hot. He’s got this whole millionaire CEO thing going on that’s been pretty popular but Marissa Clarke write him in such a way that he’s new.
I really loved this one. It’s fast paced and easily read in one sitting. Its enemies to lovers meets fake relationships. It could have been this huge cliché of a book but it’s not. Marissa Clarke was able to take all these different tropes and form them into something new and plausible and fun. Love, love, love. I need to go back and read the first book and I’m dying for the next one!
Neighbors With Benefits plays on the old saying that opposites attract, and to not judge a book by its cover. What I mean by both of those is, Michael is this stuffy, stick up his ass, must control everything man and Mia was the one who was carefree and appeared to be flaky and flighty. Remember me saying don’t judge a book by its cover? Well people judged Mia but didn’t look inside to see who she really was. Michael, however, saw what everyone else never took the time to see, that while yes Mia could at times be more carefree than everyone else, there was so much more to her. Same with Mia and Michael, she was able to see beyond that controlled exterior. I will say this, Mia’s jumping to conclusions did make me like her slightly less than I had, but in the end she won me back over.
I was pleasantly surprised with how much I really enjoyed Neighbors With Benefits. I have not previously read anything by Ms. Clarke so I wasn’t sure what to expect. There is a book prior to this one and while I want to go back and read it just because I want to, not because I have to, I wasn’t lost at all. This one can be read totally as a standalone.
A cute and lighthearted book. With lots of funny moments and a surprisingly believable male lead. Michael came across as a guy who let the work pressure take over and neglected other aspects of his life, without having any major emotional issues or a dark past that make up 90% of romance book backstories. Mia had a bouncy personality with a couple of self-esteem issues, but they didn't take over, nor made her a Mary Sue. Would have liked to see the romance develop even more, but it had a good enough build-up.
PS: Is the author a major Princess Diaries fan? I mean Mia Argaropolis? Sounds terribly like Mia Thermopolis. And then the guy being named Michael just make this too much of a coincidence.
Marissa Clarke has written a very entertaining read with believable characters who will make their way into your heart. I seriously loved seeing control freak Michael fall in love with the free spirited Mia.
Great characters, a fun and hot storyline, just perfect for what I was in the mood for.
You will definitely want to read this one, I highly recommend it.
Thank you Entangled Lovestruck via Netgalley for the advance copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.
4/5* A good, fast read! As I said in my review for book 1, I was looking forward to Michael's book and it was so worth the wait. It was fun, light and sweet. I enjoyed watching Michael go from seriously stuck-up and boring to smitten and free. "Not money, nor power, nor work comes close to you. I'd give it all up to have you," he grinned. "Though I'd rather it not come to that." Neighbors with Benefits is definitely a big step-up from Sleeping with the Boss and it makes me want to look forward to book 3, Chance's story.
