I was born and raised on Long Island and always had two hobbies...

I loved computers, and I read books voraciously.

I've been working in the computer industry for twenty years, and have continued to read a large number of books. On a whim, I started writing erotic short stories online, and to my surprise they were always highly rated, and more than that, I found I loved to write. Since then I have worked at improving my writing, and started publishing on Amazon.

This one didn't really resonate with me. I have been on a D.R. Rosier kick lately so I thought I would give this book a chance. I read the first book a while ago. I re-read my review but sometimes with this author, one book is just okay and the others are good. I have to agree with my assessment of the first book. Nothing was bad, just nothing really connected with me. The story was a little boring. Except for the first two of his women, I really didn't feel a connection to the other women Marcus was with. There was no improvement in the magic system from the first book or game changing idea. It was pretty much, same old same old. I don't care enough to read the next book. I really wished something would have grabbed my attention, but unfortunately it didn't.

Another Solid Story

Book 2 of the Cirenthian Chronicles picks up where book 1 ended and the action flows non stop. I enjoyed as the reader we get to understand what the main character was trying to do. The supporting cast continues to grow, so that's good. Again, the story is solid but I wish there was just a little more detail. Looking forward to book 3.

Goddess save us from the euphemisms in these books, both this one and the previous one in the series.

The author repeatedly refers to women's vaginas as their "pleasure" and even goes so far as to have the male character refer to his penis as his "rock hard pleasure". Cringe.

Vaginal secretions are referred to as honey, in the first book, or alternatively "nectar" in this one and if this does not seem too bad to you right off the cuff just wait until you've read it dozens upon dozens of times.

Oh and calling an anus/asshole a "puckered star" just makes me want to laugh every time.

It goes on in that vein and really adds up over time to the point where the sex scenes are more eye rolling than anything else.

A shame too because otherwise they're pretty decent books if a bit shallow on world and story depth.
