I cannot say it enough...I LOVE these characters. Nina, Marty and Wanda feel like family to me. After so many years of following their beginnings, their changes, ups and downs...I still want more. This book highlights who they truly are and doesn't disappoint. If you've never read any of the Accidental books and you're looking for humor, grit and sexy sass mixed with endearing plot lines...you need to jump right into this series.
Dakota Cassidy is the Queen of Accidental Everything. Her books are flawless with perfectly paced plots (try saying that five times fast)...and her accidental characters, though evolving and growing, always stay true to their core personalities. Where many series begin to fall flat after a few installments, Dakota's ladies keep on rising to the top.
This is a cute little piece to remind you who the characters are and get some insight into the author's (and characters') perspective on the series. It's great for laughs for fans and to get new readers intrigued about the series. It's free, check it out.
I completely misunderstood the blurb - this is NOT a book. This is literally an "interview." I *accidentally* figured this was like a prequel or something to her series. It's actually more of a round table type interview/discussion with the author and her 3 main characters in the series. It felt awkward, weird and kinda crazy to me. I know author's characters are very real to them but all I could picture was a lady sitting around a table in an empty room having a conversation - a very real one to her - with people who aren't there and don't exist. My head wanted to explode. Granted I skimmed most of it, but I couldn't even find any likeable traits in any of the girls so I won't be reading this series anyway.
Well, kinda. I didn't read the first Accidentally... books because I was unaware, though now that I am they're kind of out of my retiree budget. Luckily, I saw this just before starting Aprodite. I appreciate this book because it not only brought me into the loop on series' main, recurring characters, it gave me insight on the humor Ms Cassidy infuses her books with. I recommend this book, it's a good intro to the Accidentally series but also fun
I just think there could be a bit more focus on the story instead of jumping into people's thought vomit. Because about a third of this book is thought vomit that really doesn't advance the story and leaves me skipping at least two pages if not half the chapter.
Love when an author gives the updates on their characters so you can follow along like they are your friends. This author writes her characters so believable you really feel the world's she created could be real.
3.5 stars rounded up to 4 because I love this series.
This book is a tasty treat for veterans, such as myself, and newbies of the series alike. Not mandatory unless you're newer and a little confused about the whos and whats of things, but a fun little read nonetheless.
One of my favorite series! The characters are amazing, so well written, and freaking hilarious! Dakota is a great author! I highly recommend checking this series out!
Ok, a lot of people just don't like books written like an interview. I'm one of them and started not to read this but I thought, why not? I've been interested in trying this author and this was free. Plus, it's supposed to introduce a new reader to the characters so you will know about the world and what's going on without spoiling anything. I mean, with that many books, if you wanna jump in right away, this is a nice piece of work. I think it was a great idea. I'm so glad I read it. It's really quick. I didn't like Nina's potty mouth, well, I'm not one to say anything about potty mouths. Lol. But as annoying as she was, I kind of felt sorry for her because even when one of the other girls started a fight, poor Nina would always get blamed for her reaction. Lol. I'm wondering if deep down inside, maybe her feelings are hurt for all the jabs coming her way. I'm sure she deserves it though. Lol. I noticed some of the reviewers didn't care for this book but they had already read the other books. Coming into this as a brand new reader to the world made this look so different than if I had already read the others. I loved it and can't wait to get into the other books. Sounds like a hoot!
Looking for a fun read with "characters"? Pick up a Dakota Cassidy book......
If you have read any of Dakota Cassidy's Accidental series, you will enjoy a recap of these madcap women and the men who love them--- and some who don't! If you have NOT read any of the books, Interview With an Accidental is a great way to introduce them to you. They are as wacky, weird and wonderful in each book. You don't have to read the series in order. New and old characters appear. Each book faces a dilemna and the solution can take different paths.
Dakota Cassidy creates likeable characters, if sometimes a little wacky. I enjoy them and the situations that happen to them. Werewolves, Vampires, Genies and more are fun, but a bit scary at times.i always look forward to the next book --- and romp!
This a FREE ebook! Take advantage of it and become Wanda and Marty's BFF. Form your own opinion on Nina!
**** an excerpt from Accidentalky Aphrodite is included.
After reading 'Interview With an Accidental' I now found a series I must read. I found this short read hilarious. Dakota Cassidy is downright hilarious. I love the characters she interviewed and have to get to know each one personally. Nina is a foul mouthed, short tempered, no filter type that I can relate to. Well, except the part of being a vampire. Marty is funny. I love her account of how she ended up a werewolf. Another one I'll need to get to know. Wanda is the peace making half vampire, half werewolf. A pretty cool combo. And then we have Darnell, the demon and Archibald the manservant. Again, characters I look forward to meeting. Carl the zombie is also one I want to know- especially from where he came from: The Walking Dead series. He's going to be a great character as well. overall, this was an insightful interview. Now I'm off to start the series. Dakota Cassidy is extremely talented and very creative. A new favorite author after only reading this book. That's huge to me.
For those who have yet to experience the craziness that is the Accidentally Paranormal Series by Dakota Cassidy she has put out this free book to get you caught up as she enters a new phase with the gals of OOPS. I really have to wonder about an author interviewing her characters and taking backtalk (Nina) from them. If you haven’t read the Accidentally Paranormal Series(you really should) by Dakota Cassidy then this should help you catch up just in time for the next in the series Accidentally Aphrodite.
I'm new to Dakota Cassidy's work, and if this what I can expect then I am in for many enjoyable reading hours! This was a novvella in which the author interviews the main characters of her "Accidental" series. The author's intent is to give background information on the previous books (without going into too much detail in case you want to read them) so new to the series readers know what has happened. It's a great refresher as well. I can't wait to start the series and look forward to reading them.
I thought it was interesting way to introduce the characters to new readers in a actual interview format. I must admit I have not read that many books in this series so it definitely help me get to know how the characters met and how they fit into the group. Dakota Cassidy always writes such fun, enduring characters. It was also fun to see Dakota react to the characters she has created. In some ways I get the sense that each is her.
I am a fairly new fan of Dakota Cassidy's, so I really appreciated this book, its a fun way to get to know the characters of her Accidental series. Since it was for free there really is nothing to complain about, you also get a taste of her latest book. Its a pretty quick read and I can't wait to get started on this series, which will be new to me. I love the Authors sense of humor and imagination, you are never disappointed in any one of her books. Nice job.
Fun little recap of who's who in the accidental series with the author interviewing her own characters, recapping who they are and how they got to be paranormals, without being "too spoilery" for those who haven't read the series yet. Plus, we get a little background on OOPS and how it came to be to help other people who become accidentally changed. We get a sneak preview into the newest book in the series Accidentally Aphrodite, which I want to read!
The interview part was pretty good and makes me want to read the series. However, I downloaded a sample of book 1 and was disappointed in the heroine there, all she seemed concerned about was her looks...but saying all that, the other heroines in seem pretty kick ass and grounded. I might just skip book one...
I can see where this came from but if I were new to this series I would've been turned off by this short. Nina and Marty wear thin on my brain and I guess they come from the author's personality based on this mock interview. I wish I hadn't wasted my time on this but at least it was free. I still love the series.
A very funny and unique way to get readers interested in a book series. It's a little bit surreal but had me intrigued straight away, I was immediately hooked into the characters. It has the bonus first chapter of Accidentally Aphrodite at the end just in case you're still on the fence after the interviews!
So Dakota, I have to ask - who writes your stories? You? or the characters in your head? Dakota Cassidy is an author with a kooky sense of humour and a wild imagination as demonstrated in this book. Here a number of her characters come to 'visit' her, in her office, and she converses, argues, and generally interacts with them. As do her pet dogs and cats. Peculiar, much. Funny, yes.
I have never heard of this author before and don't even know how I stumbled across this book but it was free at the time. It is a quick amusing read where the author interviews her first 3 main characters.
