Okay that was... okay... Picked this up because my 7yo's teacher recommended it. Future Geronimo books can definitely be read BY my kid and not TO my kid, because that was: 1) within his comprehension level, and 2) not that good
My son enjoyed it though! We'll stick with middle grade books to read together and let him read the boring stuff though 😂

Geronimo Stilton’s vocation is publisher of The Rodent’s Gazette, New Mouse City’s newspaper. But more often than not, he becomes involved in some mystery with his friend Detective Hercule Poirat. In this case, someone is manufacturing fake cheese from garbage on Mouse Island. It causes breakouts of green warts and intense stomach distress to any mouse that eats it. Their sleuthing uncovers a plot between sewer rat Sleezer and obnoxious cook, Viola Vilewhiskers, that will have the rodent citizens of Mouse Island paying dearly for a cure. With a little help from their friends, Geronimo and Hercule manage to shut down the abominable factory while Viola escapes in her submarine. As an added bonus there is another mystery involving a mysterious painting and a well-known artist. Once again Geronimo and Hercule Poirat join forces to solve that mystery. The book ends with a collection of Geronimo’s jokes and riddles. All this adds up to a fun read peppered with puns, action, and a stimulating text filled with bright colored, bolded words to keep interest high. Geronimo’s witty narration and the brief chapters will keep even reluctant readers engaged. The title is a good choice for reading aloud during story time.
All the mice in New Mouse City are sick and covered with green warts. Could they be getting sick from eating mysterious cheese? Geronimo Stilton and Hercule Poirat are ready to solve the case of the curious cheese. This Geronimo Stilton special edition also features a mini case, with prompts for the reader to assist with solving the case, and a jokes section. Fast-paced and full of colorful text and illustrations, this book will not disappoint Stilton fans. Readers need not be familiar with Geronimo Stilton and/or previous works to enjoy this book. A must have for school and public libraries. Recommended for ages 7-10.
I liked this book a lot because it had a lot of descriptive words in it. The reason why I gave it four stars was because it was too easy for me. But overall I really liked this book. It was humorous. Geronimos friend hercule poirat is an investigator and he REALLY LOVES BANANAS. He has cars made out of bananas. Even planes. But they're trying to figure out why the cheese is going bad. So I would recommend this book to Geronimo Stilton lovers and easy readers.
This is a really good book but it is not that challenging. This book is about a mouse named Geronimo Stilton that goes on a hunt to find real cheese because he realizes people are selling fake cheese. I like this book because you can read it in like one day and one shot. I recommend this book to people that like to read easy books that are below grade level.
I like this book because it is very interesting. There was this kind of cheese that was identical to all the cheeses but had affects different from the normal cheeses. It made mice need to have bathroom breaks more often and made the mice grow some green warts on their snouts! Geronimo and Hercule went out to investigate where the cheese was coming from along with Benjamin and Bugsy Wugsy. While they were investigating, a new character came into the story.I never saw this character before so I was keen to know the personality of this mouse. And the best part of the story was the end, where there was a mini-mystery called "The Mouse Hoax". I never read this mini-mystery, only the other mini-mysteries and my sister also wanted to read it so we read it together. We solved all the clues correctly so we became super-squeaky investigators! And some of the jokes were even funny so altogether, it was a good book.
This book is great like someone made some fake cheese with Rubias which looks like the real ones and sold it to the others. After mouse eat this kind of cheese, they will grow a few spots on their face and they will need to go to the toilet very often. In the story, Geronimo and his detective friend Hercule friend tried to solve this problem together and they finally solve that problem and they find the way to make those spots gone.
i think this book is very interesting and it attract readers to find out the truth. this book is about something strange that is happening in their New Mouse City. the mouses were getting weird green pimples on their faces and they keep getting sick after eating a mysterious cheese so Geronimo and his detective friend decided to go investigate about this cheese case.
A mystery about fake cheese that is kinda gross but also teaches kids about the value of eating fresh food instead of organic food? Wonderful! Including an extra story about art AND a dozen mouse themed jokes? Even better!
Several laugh out loud moments in this book with my seven-year-old daughter. For example, when they are making nonsense words to try and decode an anagram. There are two separate stories in this book. The first one about fake cheese and the second one about an artist: Pablo Mousahasso.
It was confusing in an interesting way but it was still really fun. I would recommend this to anyone who likes the Geronim Stilton series. This book has a bit of Thea in it but not a lot. I enjoyed the twist. If anyone is looking for a book filled with jokes and mysteries this would be a good one.
I thought this book was amazing. I love the mystery part which gave lot of supense. I also love the part when the made the banna camper to blend I became very nervour.
