Angel is on the last leg of his quest to resurrect Giles. Faith, while not happy about it, helps him in an attempt to accomplish his goal.

Gorgeous artwork and a decent storyline plus the appearance of my favorite character, Spike. Nom nom nom! This giganamous edition is chock-full of action, violence, fights, dilemmas, surprises and humor. Plus, I did mention it’s gorgeous, right?

Excellent comic book, even if not about my favorite characters, and the issue with Spike did him an injustice and a disservice. But Drusilla was fabulous in this series, as were a lot of other things. My nitpick is that Faith sounded different than on screen, she didn’t even call Angel „A” 🙃

Season Nine draws to a close with an epic showdown between Angel, Faith, Spike, and the forces of evil, who, as usual, want to destroy the world as we know it. Occurring simultaneously with Buffy Season Nine, this volume draws plot points from all over the Buffy continuity, so it would really help if you've been watching/reading for all nine seasons.

With that said, this volume really brings things together into a nice, epic conflict, and it's probably closest in "feel" to those last few seasons of the ANGEL TV show, when there was a real feeling that things could change at any time.

But really, if you're reading Volume 3, you probably already know what you're going to get.

Another great volume. For me, Angel and Faith continues to be the stronger comic series in the Buffyverse. Wonderful artwork, fantastic character chemistry, and a satisfying conclusion to this arc, with intriguing potential for future storylines.

Better than I was expecting...
It's the home stretch for collecting Giles' soul. Turns out that the body itself might be harder to get back thanks to Ripper's teen hijinx. His soul is marked for another and that demon has taken it back. Spike (of course) stops in after his appearance in Buffy Season 9 and they succeed in getting Giles' body back. Reuniting the soul has unintended results...

Say hello to a MUCH younger Giles. (aaaaaaaaaaand how many boner jokes do we need?)

Meanwhile...
Whistler's crew has their own twisted plans to unleash magic remnants on the planet and 'evolve' the world.

====
BONUS: I'm glad we got so much more Whistler backstory. This felt like a really connected story and could have been just as good as any aired episode.

I had to deduct a star over two panels:
1) 12 year old Giles staring at Faith’s cleavage and
2) 12 year old Giles hugging Faith with an erection.

Listen. The rest of the story was… ok. Nothing spectacular, but they resolved the stuff built up in the earlier volumes. But I need mental bleach and possibly to put out my own eyeballs over those two panels.

A gripping fast paced ending to Season 9. Things have been flipped upside down in terms of magic and regret, and it sets the stage for a dark season 10. Gage truly captures the essence of the Buffy-verse and their characters.

Such a fun story and interestingly much better than the main buffy series for season 9 overall.
