A 2-in-1 edition of the romantic-comedy series where a student council president secretly works at a maid café!
As if being student council president of a predominantly male high school isn’t hard enough, Misaki Ayuzawa has a major secret—she works at a maid café after school! How is she supposed to keep her image of being ultrasmart, strong and overachieving intact once school heartthrob Takumi Usui discovers her double life?!
When Café Maid Latte plans a slew of themed events like “Maid Rangers Day” and “Little Sister Day,” Misaki surprisingly struggles with playing the “little sister”! Later, more shenanigans erupt at the café… Misaki is usually up to any challenge, but how will she handle things when a pretty idol called Aoi decides to make Usui hers?

4.5⭐️ Review on IG: @xojazzle AHH!! Okay volume 3&4 had some of my fav scenes from the anime: THE BEACH SCENES ARE SOOOO ICONIC PLS!, misa getting hypnotized, usui getting jealous of kuga! THE BANTER! The banter between misaki and usui is unmatched and I know the next volumes are just going to be my favs. Usui will make misaki go from “I hate you” to blushing in 5 seconds and I’m obsessed! We get more of a progression in their relationship and I just can’t wait to see more! You really see just how much they rely on eachother even though they won’t admit it (yet😌) They’re truly a golden pair. Also side note: love scenes with yukimura hahah hes so cute and I love the friendship he has w/ misaki and usui!
This is a good mix of school and the maid café, the art is decent, and the story has some fun parts. Usui can be questionable at times though. The way he treated Aoi was creepy as heck...
its the romanticizing sexual harassment for me 😀 if u somewhat like usui or even simp for him, pls get help (no joke, if u think this is cute, u are disgusting ✋🏃)
This series continues to be fun. Things are going in a slightly different order than what I remember from the anime, but not enough to really impact the plot at this point. I think that the manga is just as enjoyable as the anime, if not more so. I don't think I will ever get enough of revisiting this series. This is again, a slow collect for me, but I look forward to what is to come after the content of the anime.
It’s alright. Not my favorite, but I find it entertaining most of the time. The love interest is being more pushy in this one than before (◞‸◟). Good elements and not so good ones. I’m glad they stood up to the bullies in the first part tho!
As with most Maid-sama content, I come for the light-heartedness. The pick-me-up from my day of no maid cafes and much less satisfying storylines. I'm understanding more and more the importance of something as simple and silly as Maid-sama. Its fiction, its laughs, its likability. The idiot trio, the bonus chapters, and the consistent back-and-forth of Misa and Usui.
I particularly enjoyed the costume race. I had totally forgotten about Aoi, but that little cosplayer keeps things interesting. Usui seems so very reg flag-esque at times, but the truth is I'm not worried about him. Unlike in real life, he is a fictional character with only eyes for Misa. He is controlling, but when it counts the most, he is willing to do anything for Misa, there for her when she can't be strong. Of course, in all its weirdness, I ship it. And I recommend this series to those who need to believe in a bond like Usui and Misa's.

Welcome back Masters! Once again we have the adventures of Misa as she tries her best to be the best student body president at her high School and at the same time try to keep the secret that she works at a maid Cafe. So to be honest I actually watched the anime first before I read the Manga so so far I'm kind of been just reading the stories that I saw in the anime and everything is kind of just review now. There hasn't really been any new stories that were not adapted into the anime from the manga. I will say the scene during the beach story where Usui gave Misa a hickey on her back was super funny. I kind of wonder if my guy would do the same thing just to prevent other guys from seeing me in a bikini. We also got the cute little bonus story of Misa dressed as the peach boy of Japanese legend. Overall very good still love the series I can't wait for more.

Usui and Misaki's relationship is slowly progressing. I appreciate that. We get more insight into the different students at the school. That's nice. We are also introduced to a new bratty character I don't care for. We also get a lot of side stories which I don't care for either. Since this is a reread, I do know what will happen next. It's been a while, and I didn't realize how many volumes readers need to get through before we get into the actual meat of the story. It's slow-burn and our main female protagonist is a tsundere. I will check out the next volume when my library hold is lifted.
Alright, so I was a bit sceptical after reading the first book, as I felt like it was a bit too quick in its introduction of the characters and on the story in general.
Here, the pace is slower, which is good, and we get more time to see the relationship between the two main characters evolve.
The different chapters were interesting and overall fun, however, I am just a bit concerned: is the whole series just going to be a succession of small stories with no bigger plot? Because even though the idea of the school president working as a maid is entertaining, I feel like it can get boring pretty quickly...

*3.5-4* I find it hard to rate manga's like Maid-Sama!. Something about them just puzzles my rating abilities. Anyways, the reason I picked up the third and fourth volume of it is because I had just finished watching it on Netflix, so I thought it would be a good idea to continue reading it as well. Books like these are good to help get you out of a reading slump-at least for me! They're lighthearted and easy to read. I adore the relationship between Misa and Usui, and can't wait to pick up the next collection!
Still same problematic fluff, now with more Established Scenarios checkboxes! We gots the Beach Episodes, School open house, few new chara intros, a 14-year-old sweet lolita (the one time hitting on "older" boy wasn't a total creepfest, as 14 & 16 aren't a huge age gap. Granted everything else in that setup was cringe), little sisters (can the Cafe run a theme day that doesn't make your skin crawl? Of course not!) etc etc
Upon reading this as a grown adult I can see there do be some problematic elements here. Like the shojo logic is the only way to get through some of this behavior. But the thread through this volume are good. We get to see Misaki being powerful and generous and kind in her own way, and I honestly love to see it. She’s a great leader. Also the character designs are definitely better in this volume compared to the previous one.
This volume, though still entertaining, contains some of the weaker moments in the series. There's a lot of development for new and familiar characters, which builds the story but slows the comedic value per page. The anime was probably structured strategically to prevent the slight lull I experienced reading this volume. Still, I'm happy to have been introduced to Aoi and Kanou, and to have read the hypnosis chapters—which are some of my favourites!
Contains: Academy/Prep School/University, Angst, Belated Love Epiphany, Everyone Can See It, He Falls First, Oblivious to Love, Single Parent, Slow-Burn
Maid-sama!: Vol 2 is the 2nd in the Maid-Sama! series by Hiro Fujiwara.
A bit disappointed in this one. The conceit is starting to wear a little thin and Usui really hasn't been fleshed out even a little and we're at the end of volume four! Seriously, we know nothing about him besides that he likes picking on the heroine and is obnoxiously gifted in every way. Aoi is a welcome foil to Misaki though, it's nice to see someone who isn't won over by her so easily.
A self indulging read for sure. During this volume, there is still a fluffy, lighthearted story taking the main focus but we start to see glimpses of Misaki and Usui's relationship taking root in a more dual sided manner. Love this series because I don't have to take it too seriously and always enjoy the antics!
I couldn't even finish this because every time the 3 idiots were in it, the artwork got all crazy. I don' t think I will read anymore of these. The anime version is much better than the manga. I gave what I read of this 3 stars.
This is the second installment of the series, Maid-sama! Boy, this was a doozy of a read but it was better than the first volume. It is set in Seika High School and focuses on the two main characters, Misaki and Usui. They continue their in and out of love affair through this volume; however, more characters show up to try to "destroy" Misaki and remove her from the presidency to no avail.

I love kaicho wa maid sama it makes me so happy and i love takumi and misaki and aoi and the girls and most of all my sweet idiot trio basically I love everyone in the cast. Its so good and just a dose of happiness and romance. I recommend it especially if you love classic shojo romance. It will touch you're heart.
