In the new Leopard novel by the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Cat’s Lair and Leopard’s Prey, passions explode like wildfire when a young woman’s feral instincts are ignited by a man who’s too dangerous not to desire…

A simple request for Siena Arnotto: deliver a gift to her grandfather’s friend. One look at Elijah Lospostos, hard-bodied and stripped to the waist, and Siena succumbs to a feline stirring she never felt before, and to Elijah’s reckless and pleasurable demands. But when that pulse-throbbing moment ends in the murder of an unexpected intruder, Elijah accuses the shaken and confused Siena of setting him up.

Then Siena discovers the truth of her Leopard heritage, of the secrets in her grandfather’s inner circle, and the sinister plot of revenge that has put her in jeopardy. When Siena’s grandfather is assassinated, she realizes the only man she can trust is Elijah. Now as her Leopard rises from within, Siena and Elijah share not only an animal instinct for survival—but a desire so raw and wild it may be the only thing that can save them.

WILD CAT is the 8th installment in Christine Feehan’s contemporary paranormal, erotic romance Leopard Series.

Christine Feehan is one of my favorite PNR romance authors and I have read all her series, and whilst I like her Leopard Series, her Carpathian Series is still my favorite.

Having met Elijah Lospostos in previous books I was looking forward to his book.. Sadly, I was rather sad after I finished reading his story.
In fact, I was more than unhappy with Elijah and his character….never mind that he was domineering and aggressive towards his colleagues and friends but how he behaved towards the heroine, Siena Arnotto, was beyond not acceptable.

I get that the men in this series are portrayed as dominant and controlling, but no way can one condone or excuse the manner in which he treated Siena, in the beginning, when she’s asked by her grandfather to deliver a present to Elijah, who believes that she’s part of a plan to kill him…..His actions………..he forceful and violently takes her virginity, tears her clothes, grabs her by her long hair, pulls her out his front door, calling her a whore and a slut, that she’s the worst f….k he’s ever had, shuts the door on her, leaving her almost naked on the doorstep!!!!
 photo mom-secrets-helmet_zpsqgodij7k.gif
The violence continues….Siena returns home and gets beaten very badly by one of her grandfather’s henchmen, who threatens to kill her if she doesn’t marry him. Her grandfather does nothing.
This all happens to this poor woman in the first two or three chapters.

She escapes from the family wine estate after her grandfather is murderer and fearing for her life, goes to Jake Bannacone, who has a security company, wanting to hire someone to protect her. Well, surprise, surprise. Elijah works for the company and he offers to be her bodyguard. Are you kidding me???? Siena can’t face him and runs off and is kidnapped by Paolo, her grandfather’s guard and the one who had beaten almost to death the day before. What other horrible things must this poor woman have to endure?
Well, she’s again violently attacked by Paolo and Elijah and his men just barely get to her on time.

Okay, let me keep it short here…..she’s taken to Elijah’s home where he can better protect her. She wants nothing to do with him.
So, does he apologize? Are you kidding!!! No way…..he just TELLS her that she HAS to forgive him….because he’s had a terrible life so far….and wait for this….and that he’s always loved her since he met her all those years ago. How she’s the only woman for him…his true mate! Is that groveling????? Pleeeeez…..He knows what he did to her was wrong…but she just has to deal with it!!!!! She has to do everything he tells her to do. He’s the boss!!!

Okay!!!! Caveman moments much!!!
 photo male-neanderthal-pulling-female-nea_zpsntxyvkpi.gif
And Siena….she’s always loved him and no other man has come close to him in her heart. She thaws and gives in and forgives him. Hell, Elijah is some lucky male!!! Me, I would have him on his knees, crawling on the floor, begging for forgiveness!! But this is Elijah….he’s a male, she’s a female, and it’s a man’s duty to care and protect his woman. All she has to do is follow his orders. If he wants something or tells her something..he HAS THE LAST WORD!!
 photo tumblr_inline_nvxpsdl8081s07rxz_500_zpseri2uujv.gif
What I liked about Siena – she may listen to his in charge/control tirade but she‘s not going to lie down and just submit to his demands. Loved the way she turned things around when Elijah tried to keep her in the dark about the situation with the leopard people and their power struggles.

Actually, I did rather like Siena. And the best part about her….how she deals with Elijah!!!!
 photo tumblr_lupt7tFdvr1r6aku6o1_500_zpsby3s5kd4.gif
She’s gone through a lot of bad stuff in her life but it hasn’t made her hard. A life filled with loneliness, no friends to chat with. I liked her openness, her caring and loving nature…..and she’s totally cute.
One of my favorite parts in this book was the time Siena wanted to surprise Elijah but cooking his favorite dish…..okay, so she can’t cook but anyone can make a dish using a recipe!!! Well, not really!!! Burning hands and face, steaming eyes as she inhales the chilies that she’s trying to cook!!!
It put a smile on my face!!!!

Now, I haven’t mentioned the sex!!!! So much sex!!!! More sex pages than plot pages!!!!
 photo 4914_zpsa71kkgdq.gif
Elijah and Siena have a lot of sex!!!! Every chanced they get!!! A knock at their bedroom door informing him that there’s someone who wants to meet with him downstairs……….quick, let’s have a hot and speedy go together before I go to the meeting!!!!
 photo tumblr_nvhz7vcsdd1uhfcvbo1_500_zpsmrb7clvz.gif
Look, I like steam and hotness in a story….but when sex scenes pop up every couple of pages…….let’s say that I did skim a few, well maybe a lot of the sex scenes which were becoming a bit more repetitive and tedious.

The secondary characters making an appearance have become familiar….Jake and Emma and their kids, Eli and Cat, Joaquin and Tomas Estrada, Drake Donovan, Evan and Joshua Tregre, who I am sure is going to play a huge part in the future. The new and interesting character introduced in this story is Alonzo, Siena’s former bodyguard and who sees himself as her protector.

I like the world the author has created and developed, and how the leopard people’s struggle to continue existing in the human and with each other. The character development since the 1st book in the series is really good.

This was not one of my fav’s in this series. It was more like an OK!!!

I truthfully did not enjoy most of this book and its getting 2 stars simply because I thought Siena was the sweetest person ever, and because we got to see Jake and Emma and Eli and Cat in this so I did enjoy that. But mostly I was just angry reading this, the whole book Elijah pissed me the fuck off and if you ask me he was borderline abusive to Siena. I seriously don't think I've ever disliked a character more, you can be an alpha male without being a complete asshole dickwad twat. He said horrible, horrible things to Siena and throws her out of his house naked right at the beginning of the book and he NEVER APOLOGIZES! In fact he gets angry when Siena brings it up and tries to share her feelings about it. All he had was excuses for why he did it, if he'd just said 'I'm sorry' just once, he would have been slightly less of a jerkface. Siena was so nice and sweet, she deserved so much better then Elijah its not even funny.

I could probably write pages of ranting about this book but I'll wrap it up here and just say that I do not recommend this one and it was a real miss for the series. I've never rated a Feehan book this low and I'm pretty surprised by it. Really hoping that this one isn't the start of her trying to make her Heroes even more alpha then they already are and instead just making them into twats that I can't enjoy at all.

“Believe me, baby, you belong to me. I don’t give up what’s mine.”

This was a sexy paranormal romance, with a bit of excitement.

I felt quite sorry for Siena in this story, as the way Elijah threw her out of his house and the things he said to her were awful. I really didn’t blame her for hating him, and could understand why she didn’t want to let that behaviour go so easily.

The storyline in this had a bit of excitement with some deaths, plotting, illegal businesses, and even some fighting, and it was a lot more exciting than the previous book in the series!
There was obviously quite a bit of romance in this one too, and the sex scenes were pretty steamy, although they did get a bit repetitive by the end.

The ending to this was okay, and I hope that we’ll find out more about what happens to Siena and Elijah next in future books.

DNF @ 17%.

The story starts off REALLY REALLY badly. The h goes to the H's house to deliver something for her grandfather. The H immediately has sex with her on the floor. This donkey was a virgin and acted like a complete airhead. After he is done with her, he grabs her by the hair and throws her out naked. She goes home and gets beaten by one of her grandfather's workers. This book was so stupid. I expected there to be a lot of groveling by the H but according to other people who could stomach the rest of the story, the H never apologizes. He even claims to love the h since the first time he saw her despite the fact he sleeps with a lot of women. Given me a break!! I stopped reading books by this author a long time ago and looks like I should of continued to keep my distance.

Review courtesy of All Things Urban Fantasy

When I closed this book I had to take some time to process my feeling on it before writing down my thoughts. I enjoy shifter romances and am typically able to reason with the aggressive and violent nature of the heroes due to their being half-animal. Sometimes the attitudes of the heroes can be a bit much and the sex a bit too domineering for my tastes but usually that's balanced out with the heroine's ability to stand up for herself and the hero's ability to know when to calm down or back off. WILD CAT really pushed my limit of just how much douche I can take in my alpha heroes.

Siena's situation really shows just what a disadvantage she starts at in entering into a relationship with Elijah. She doesn't know she is a shifter until an unfortunate or fortunate-depending on how you look at it- meeting with Elijah which involves a heated and sexy sex scene. That sex scene I was okay with but the aftermath was disastrous as it was intended to be in the book though what you see in that aftermath seems to reflect the power-dynamic between these two throughout the book. We have Siena, essentially naive about the shifter world, being yanked into a violent sexual relationship where she has little to no say or control. Yes, part of her attraction is due to the whole 'mating bond' trope which I accept in these types of books but even that should have it's limits especially when the hero is super possessive to the point of not wanting Siena to move with out his say so.

For so much of the book I felt like Siena was a prisoner of Elijah's just sitting there waiting for him to have sex with her. I kept wanting her to escape to someplace safe and that was probably not the feeling I was supposed to be getting out of this relationship. Elijah is violent and dangerous. He is scary and scary towards Siena most of the time. He his controlling and uses sex as a punishment which can be kinky and fun but here it reflected a deeper issue with their relationship. Siena laughs at his 'punishment' but that doesn't really do much to make me think they are on equal footing in their relationship. Siena does get some control and say but it seems so small and no real progress in her own independence in this relationship is made to make me think she shouldn't run to a batter womans' shelter.

Now, I enjoy a book with sex in it but in WILD CAT it was so pervasive that I just wanted them to sit down and eat or read a book for once. They couldn't get through a meal with out sex much less a conversation or argument. Every argument ended in sex. Even in the middle of planning a strategy to stop Siena from being kidnapped they stop to have three page sex scenes. The plot was interesting enough about Siena's inheritance and her finding her way in the shifter world but it was overwhelmed by the rampant misogyny and aggressiveness on Elijah's part and the constant and hazy consent-wise sex.

That's author's idea of groveling?? What the ever loving f...no apology, nothing.

That's a hell no for me even if he does grovel later!!!

2.25 stars Elijah is an asshole

"I swear to you, Siena, and you’d better fucking believe me. I will find a way to punish you that you aren’t going to like if you ever put me in that position again. Am I clear enough? Do you get me?”

AND the h dishrag response

"She nodded, put her head on his shoulder and tightened her arms around his neck. “Give me your word, not that nod. This is important, Siena. I have to know when it comes to your safety, you’ll do what I tell you.” “I will,” she murmured. Her voice hitched. “I swear, Elijah, I’ll do better.”

(Elijah response was about his fear that h could of been killed).

Ugh it grates on my nerves (causes me to scream) that h calls H honey. It seems CF has lost her writing voice. As if she's trying to mix her voice in w/ the generic alpha voice that's in many SP books lately.

I've read many reviews about how Elijah fucked Siena roughly, yelled horrible things to her and then threw her out of his home. Yeah he was an asshole. What is not mentioned in all these reviews is that Elijah thought h was setting him up to be killed.. And I don't think he groveled enough when he learned the truth. Though He did apologize and h did not forgive him right away.

His apology:
“You think I don’t know that, Siena? You think I don’t know just how bad I fucked up? You think it doesn’t eat at me night and day that I hurt you like that? I know you now. I know I have to protect you, and I swear, Siena, you give me that chance, you let me in, I’ll take such good care of you, you’ll never have to worry about anything again.”

Not a grovel but the sincerity was there. He did at other times tell h to get over it b/c he knew he was a bastard and the statements were all lies.

I could deal w/ how H treated h when he f-d her the 1st time b/c he thought she was setting him up to be killed. I could even deal w/ his apology. By his thoughts you knew he loved her and didn't mean any of his humiliating statements.

That all changed w/ H telling h later in the story that he always loved her . NO you don't treat someone like that who you love. He tells h that he had seen her dancing in a club yrs ago and knew that she was his girl. (Huh but he never approached her). He was so turned on watching her that he took some random girl home to fck. She didn't satisfy him so he had to jack off.

I loved how the H was ruthless in his protection of h. He wanted to annihilate the ones that hurt her. I needed more softness from him towards her. The loving thoughts were internal but I needed him to express his thoughts to h. H wasn't always an a-hole. There were some sweet moments. H was yummy when he was sexin up the h.

I started out liking the h but than she became this one dimensional I only want to please H dishrag. She was an ok h.

I didn't hate the MC. My issue is about how the plot had so much potential but was never fleshed out.

I just don't know what's going on w/ CF. Her writing is there on the permimiter but another writer is filling in the rest w/ generic alpha-hole BS and sex. I love my sex so u know it has to be OTT for me to get irritated.

Drake never mentioned Saria his wife which was weird. CF short changed this story w/ sex. I wanted to read about h conversations w/ Drake about Elijah.

At the end of the book you get a preview of the next ghost walker book. Trap tells Wyatt he's too sweet (lol that's some BS). Wyatt was an asshole. I'm not excited for Trap's book.

Ms Feehan returns to her world of Leopard shifters with a highly passionate and emotional instalment. This story follows on in many ways from Cats Lair with it's shady undertones of crime and gang wars but expands as we start to realise just how insidious the workings amongst the kingpins truly can be. Into this setting the author introduces Siena Arnotto, a privileged granddaughter of a wealthy wine grower. She is well acquainted with evil, having suffered kidnap attempts but truly has no idea just how involved in the darker underbelly her family really are. All that changes one night when she is asked to deliver a gift to a neighbour and finds herself defiled, belittled and alone !
Elijah Lospostos understands how the world he walks through works and cannot believe the young woman he thought innocent is anything but! His body cries out for her but his mind cannot quite comprehend how Siena would allow herself to be used as bait. Elijah makes a huge mistake which sets in motion a chain of events that will change Siena's life forever. Once she thought Elijah was the perfect man and yet now she sees just how animalistic he really is. Elijah has a lot to make up for but he has met his match in Siena. Her heart may ache but she will never break and the instinct to survive will carry this couple forward . On a knife edge they discover that danger is just a heart beat away
Ok I will admit that sometimes this author takes the heat and dominance just a little too far with her alpha men. That being said she always pairs them with females who understand that their lovers are really just terrified of losing them. I love the patience that Siena and the other females show as they just raise their eyebrows and carry on regardless . Never deliberately antagonising ( although I'm pretty sure Elijah would see it as disobeying !) but Siena goes her own sweet way proving that sometimes even Leopards need help. This was most definitely a steamy romance but for this reader it was discovering how all the other shifters all fit into this environment that was the most enjoyable. I loved catching up with Jake , Eli, Drake and their wives as it looks like there might be a new generation to step into the spotlight at some point. Elijah is a hard man there's no doubt and Siena might have been sheltered but the scene when she tries to cook was hilarious which added a delightful lighter element. Ms Feehan mixes drama with paranormal romance but it's not all plain sailing. I really empathised with Siena as Elijah truly hurt her with little more than ill chosen words . Yet his aggression never fazes her and although she's not my favourite heroine I did find myself routing for her. Another passionate story from the author and a rather intriguing Alonzo was introduced who I'm hoping Ms Feehan will revisit soon. This was a book that really expanded the world the author has created and I look forward to finding out what happens next
I was gifted a copy of this in exchange for an honest review

Soooo, why on earth do I feel like I just finished a Kristen Ashley novel but with large cats and some Italian thrown in? I had to do a double check on the author, but nope it definitely said Christine Feehan.

But still, all the "Honeys", melting and OTT Alpha Caveman "living free" and "this is how it is for my woman" statements makes me wonder if CF is channeling, in the midst of a KA marathon during the writing of this book or are they sharing the same word processor?

I don't know, but now I am getting a reeeeallly creepy feeling -- still the story wasn't terrible, just trite and oversexxed.

My Review
Summary
Siena Arnotto, is a young woman that was raised by her grandfather. Recently she has been starting to feel different. Her grandfather's right-hand man has been making her nervous even though she has known him since she was a teenager. Her grandfather asks her to send a friend of his a birthday gift of wine. When she arrives, it's Elijah Lospostos, a man she has always had a crush on. Upon her arrival into his home, heat succumbs them and they have passionate sex on his foyer floor. Suddenly an enemy arrives and attempts to kill Elijah and Elijah blames Siena in taking part of it and pushes her out the door. Shocked and uncertain, Siena returns home. Only to come home to be abused by her grandfather's right-hand man...the man her grandfather is trying to push her into marrying. Then her grandfather is murdered and she believes she knows who is at fault. So she flees in search of someone to protect her and runs into Elijah again. Only to find herself embracing her wild side of the leopard that has always been a part of her. She is attacked and practically mauled and Elijah steps in and saves the day. There are mixed emotions on both sides....but with Elijah and Siena living under the same room; neither of them can deny what they are feeling for each other.
The Hero
Elijah Lospostos didn't have the easiest of childhood. He was raised by a mob family....was taught how to handle a knife when he was a child and knew how to break a neck and kill someone at a young age. He was forced to do despicable things. He got out as soon as he could and formed an alliance with his friends and formed his elite business. Elijah is a hard man, he was shaped by the worst of the worst....but at the heart has still managed to become a loyal and honorable man. Elijah makes mistakes and his largest one is when it comes to Siena Arnotto. He has always held an attraction to Siena and is driven to claim her. Elijah was a hero that if you love Alpha Males....then you will fall madly in lust with him. He is dominating, controlling, possessive and jealous.
“Believe me, baby, you belong to me. I don’t give up what’s mine.”

He is stubborn but driven and determined. I really loved seeing his bond with his friends---Drake, Rafe, Joshua.
The Heroine
Siena Arnotto lost her parents and ended up being raised by her grandfather. She knows that she is loved by her grandfather, but was sent away to boarding school and hasn't seen much of his business. But now she has returned to live with him, and there are certain aspects that make her nervous and unsure. Her grandfather's right-hand man, Paolo, makes her nervous with his sexual sneers and looks that practically undress her. She can't stand to be around him and her grandfather expects her to marry him. But when the worst happens, and her grandfather is murdered...she is being hunted and her only salvation is her teenage crush Elijah Lospostos. Siena was a heroine that I liked reading for the most part but not completely. She is very sweet and nurturing, but she was a fighter at times. My only problem with her is I felt like she should have stood up to Elijah more. It quite didn't quite fit with who she is in the beginning and then how she is toward the end. I would have liked to see more backbone when it came to Elijah. What I loved about her was her sense of humor and her carefree and playfulness.
Plot and Story Line
Wild Cat is the latest addition to the Leopard People series. I will admit that even though I liked this one, it had the same tone that the previous book had. I will say that the first few books of the series are still my favorite. But I did enjoy reading this one way more than Cat's Lair but I will warn you that it has a more erotic feel to it than an actual romance which is the theme for the whole series. They are probably the most erotic books this author has ever written. And even though this aspect has bothered me a bit....there is still some great aspects to this book that I enjoyed.

In Wild Cat, we have Elijah's story....Elijah is a character we have seen in most of the books of the series so it was great to finally have his book. Although I will say that Joshua is the one character I am most looking forward to. What was really most thrilling about this story, was seeing the suspense side of things. We have our villain "Paolo" who is one scary dude. Like honestly he should be shredded into tiny pieces. He was one horrible character, and even though he makes a great villain I would never want him to be real. He is one evil man and it is heartbreaking with what he does to Siena. She is one tough cookie though when it comes to him. She stands up to Paolo even when she knows it may cost her dearly.

The friendship between the friends especially Drake and Rafe is pretty sweet and we see them and their wives into the story. It was fabulous to see their bond to each other and get a revisit with these couples and their children. My favorite is Drake and Emma and their interactions with each other and the group of friends. It was quite fun to see Joshua (who we see quite a bit of in Savage Nature) and I am hoping we see more of him in future books.

The romance between these two is blazing hot but is mixed in with some sweet and poignant moments. Moments of heartbreak, forgiveness and true emotion.
I live in Hell, Siena. That's my world and I have no fucking right to drag you down with me, but I can't stop myself. You're the one thing in my life that's worth anything. I can't let go of you, no matter how much I know I should. I'm not that strong. You are innocent and beautiful. Your body is. Your mind is. Your heart and soul. You gave yourself to me, Siena. You chose me and I'm going to do everything in my power, with everything that I am, to protect you. To cherish you.

A passionate adventure to savor!!
The Cover
I really like the leopard effect that it shows on here. It unique and different and even though I am not a fan of the model since in the book she CAN't have straight hair...its long and full of waves. But I love any cover with felines in it especially those gorgeous big cats.
Overall View
Wild Cat is a sensually woven romance that will keep the blood pumping in suspense, your heart rate up with the sexual tension and will give you thrills and chills down the spine in every moment in between!! SIZZLING AND ACTION PACKED!!

Other books in the Leopard People series are more enjoyable than Wild Cat, which I am not recommending. The angst issue in the H/h relationship was repeated ad nauseum for three-fourths of the book. They never had more than two minutes of dialogue without being overcome with lust for one another. Too many repetive sex scenes really bogged down the pace of the story and made it a chore to finish. The action picked up at the very end, but the ending cried out for an epilogue-- which was not there. Just skip this one.

POORLY WRITTEN AND VERY DISAPPOINTING!!

I have been a fanatical fan of Christine Feehan for 16 years. I have read everything that she has ever written. I have re read The Dark Series and The GhostWalker series so many times I have lost count. But Wild Cat and the last 2 books CF has written were so disappointing I felt like crying. I feel like I have lost an old friend. She was my go to author when I wanted to read or re read a great PR. Now I am at a lost for words. I have waited for Elijah's story since his sister Rachel's story bk2 Wild Rain. Wild Cat starts out in the well know writing style of Christine Feehan fast paced and exciting. But then she does something I hate authors to do she has Siena the heroine of the story horrible beaten and then horribly tortured ripped and clawed apart by an insane leopard shifter who works for her grandfather. This world has so much real violence against women. All you have to do is turn on the TV. Authors should not be feeding into the Violence and abuse toward women scenario. 80% of Wild Cat is repetitive sex scenes. They are Not even Great Erotic sex scene, but this is what happens in most of the book. There is only about 20% real story hear and what was there was good. Now I love a good erotica story but it must have a good story and Wild Cat does not have nearly enough story. I have taken all of her future books off pre order. I am just over it. I will read the reviews before I pay my money for another book written by her.

I want to say to Christine Feehan Its time to end some of these series before you just ruined them beyond repair. Your better then what you are putting out for your Fans to read. Wild Cat is garbage. It hurts me to my heart to write this review.

Real talk... for me, Ms. Feehan's books just keep getting worse. I really loved her earlier works, but the last several I've read have left me shaking my head. Is this even her writing anymore???

This particular book seemed like one long, repetitive sex scene with some jumbled up, confusing plot mixed in here and there. Neither of the main characters was likable, and there were times when each was intolerable.

Also, shout out to the most random and incorrect use of the word subsapce I've ever seen.

290220: after a year i have decided to read more popular romantic paranormal fantasy. so i return to familiar author, plot, characters, world, to see if my understanding has progressed. but as not all women attract me, so not all women’s books attract me. i do try to see how this works, how it is different, and in both ways there is nothing surprising...

in generic fiction there are many, many iterations of essentially the same story, whereas literary fiction tends to single texts with many, many interpretations. so this is generic. i had forgotten who is who in this world, but easily remember dominant all-man male, violent, desperate emotional sex, female character sort of idealized version of reader, that is, curvy, short, spunky etc with really great hair. it is important that there must be confusion of intentions, must be lack of self-worth, must be such problems repeated so that they can be solved in very hot sex, which is integrated into the second half of each chapter, though in sort of ‘meet-cute’ the hero begins as the book begins by raping the heroine...

feehan starts with the most shocking rape, which bothers the heroine more that he says wounding things about her virginal technique rather than the assault, and this sets up the recurring dynamic for yes of course she is virgin and yes of course she wants him and yes of course she loves him and yes of course she wants to be best for him etc that i might think the hero is pathetic violent jerk is just something i have to deal with. because of course there is more to him than this, and most of the book is dedicated to convincing readers through great sex that he really is forgivable. as visual porn can become repetitive, banal, so too can verbal porn. are these books the female equivalent of ‘one-handed books’ where the book is held in one hand reading while the other hand is um ‘busy’? certainly. there is this pattern established of misunderstanding then hot sex then misunderstanding then etc so there are many climaxes here. but in the form of the book, the violence of final conflict with bad guys is resolved in that shakespearean manner of comedies by marriage and children...

so how do i really feel about this book? three? there is fascinating technique or i have just read the wrong books, that emotion can/does suffuse everything and the real key to him being hot/loved, is that he actually shares his emotions with her, however at first torn out of his stoicism, he actually says over and over (in sex and words and acts) how much he loves her, in detail, in whole, expressing this through ready sex and dominance and protectiveness etc this is what (some many all) women want from their man? probably only to the extent (some many all) men want say supermodels... but then this is fantasy...

It was a simple request, but one look at Elijah Lospostos and things turn heated and end up with Sienna Arnotto shaken, confused and accused of setting him up in this pulse-pounding paranormal romance.

With her grandfather assassinated and her leopard rising within, Elijah is the only one she can trust and the reader can’t help but get caught up in heat as Sienna and Elijah share not only an animal instinct for survival but a desire so raw and wild that it may be the only thing that saves them. The chemistry is smoking hot and the sex scenes are heated encounters that leaves readers breathless but the relationship is one that turns both Sienna and Elijah’s world topsy turvy and inside out which has lots of emotional turmoil flowing from the pages to grip the heart. Strong, charismatic characters demand your attention from the very beginning and the fast paced, smooth flowing plot thrills readers with lots of suspense, action, turmoil and romance.

Lots of adrenaline pumping excitement and wild edgy action keeps readers on their toes from beginning to end as another leopard tries to claim Sienna and take everything from her also Elijah is involved in another dangerous mission and both hazardous situations are about to collide. The well written scenes and details make it easy for the reader to become absorbed in the story and relate to the characters while the intriguing events guarantee that there is never a dull moment to be found.

Wild nights are calling as the Leopard series just keeps getting better and better and the characters keep getting sexier. Sienna and Elijah’s story pulled me in and kept me glued to the pages from beginning to end and I can’t wait to read the next one.

Excellent Leopard series book. Feehan is my favorite author & I cannot get enough of her books. From cover to cover I am engrossed in the story line. Be it the Carpathians, Leopard people, Sea Haven series or the Ghostwalkers. I love the way she writes & from the first chapter to the last I am hooked. I pre-order her books so I can get them when they come out. I have read all the Carpathian series & am awaiting the newest; also all the Leopard series awaiting the newest. The newest Ghostwalker series is coming as well & I am so excited. This was an awesome book and a must read if you like paranormal romance!

I hate to say it but this one would have been better had it not been filled with sex. It seemed to take over the story and not in a good way. I didn't like that from the beginning Elijah went out of his way to hurt Siena. Yes he would find a way to get her forgiveness, but it happened again and again. It really made me not like him. The one nice thing is that Siena found friends she could talk with.

Sometimes, a beloved father is not exactly who you thought he was. Siena Arnotto learns this much too late when she realizes she's been a pawn in a dangerous game. What is worse, she doesn't realize she is "special". This story could be about a spoiled princess getting sold off to the man her grandfather chooses. It is more than that. I enjoyed how Siena learned about her past. I also liked how she brings Elijah Lospostos to his knees.

This is a familiar trope where the alpha guy says terrible things to a young innocent and then believes he can just "smooth it over". Siena really gave Elijah too many second chances. Surprising but needed in order for this story to work. Overall, it was a fast read but a bit forgettable.

Too many repetitive phrases for book filler and our hero was a bit to alpha for me to really enjoy the story. He kept telling our heroine to just get over it. He didn't mean the horrible things he said...she should just get over it and let that go. *eye-roll* The book ended in a strange place to me. I am going to hang on with the series until Antonio's story and then I think I am done.

Elijah is a Grade A Jackass. Even if the book was good (which it wasn't), nothing could redeem this story from the douchebag male at the heart of it.

My name is Izzie (my Dapper Animals pseudonym) and I run Dapper Animals, a site dedicated to living the cute life and reading awesome books.

I had the pleasure of meeting Leydy (Once Upon a Twilight) at a South Florida Bloggers event at Books & Books. It was book love at first site :) We were discussing one of our favorite genres, Young Adult Fiction, and I mentioned that one of my issues with this genre was the lack of sex. Lo and behold, Leydy whips out a blue paperback book out of her tote bag and gives it to me. The book was an ARC of Wild Cat by Christine Feehan. She said if I wanted to, I could guest post a review about Wild Cat on Once Upon a Twilight. I was honored and excited to read this new ARC. Specially since it seemed to be a shifter book and I love me some shifter romance action.

After a couple of pages into Wild Cat the saying, "Be careful what you wish for", quickly came to mind.

The book started off with a BANG! As in banging. The main characters were already getting it on in the first 20 pages. I happened to start reading this book during my lunch break and trust me, I did not want to go back to work. I just wanted to keep on reading! The storyline started strong and reeled me in.

Leopard shifter, Siena, does not know she is a shifter or part of a leopard crime boss family. Siene is used, unbeknownst to her, as a decoy to kill the family's enemies. Her latest target is Elijah, who happens to be her childhood crush. She has also been promised to her grandfather's sadistic second in command.

These premises could have made for a great book. Unfortunately, the book sizzled out after the main character's got together which is pretty much at the beginning of the book. There's no tension or chemistry between the characters. The characters are flat and one dimensional making them boring and not likable. Also, the heroine has no backbone and lets herself be bossed around all the time by her alpha mate.

Believe it or not, I also had an issue with the sex scenes. I know, I know! I'm of the camp that believes the more sexy time there is in a book, the better. This book went way overboard with the sex scenes. I think they were trying to hide the fact that the book has no good storyline/plot. It got to a point that I was bored with the sex scenes, mainly because I didn't care about the characters and was not emotionally invested. Also, there was A LOT of oral action going on. A LOT.

If you're looking for an erotica book where the main female character is submissive in every way and not just in bed, then this might be the book for you. If you are looking for a good shifter romance novel, then I would not recommend you pick this book. Specially if it's your first time reading this genre. I would recommend Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series for a strong and kick ass heroine and Nalini Singh's Psy-changeling series for loads of steamy sex scenes.

Thank you Leydy for letting me guest post and for giving me this ARC! I really wanted to like this book and get hooked on another shifter romance series. This wasn't the book for me, but if you're still interested in reading Wild Cat it is available! - Izzy

You can just leave me here… forever….

Intense love, scorching sex and tense suspense rocked this one out of the park for me. This author is on my “must read before the ink is dry” list but this one… This one just struck every chord and then went back and struck them again.

Siena Arnotto is beautiful, smart and unbelievably tongue-tied when it comes to her grandfather’s neighbor, Elijah Lospostos. The feelings of heat and yearning she’s had recently amp up even higher when she finds herself on his doorstep. Little did she know, this innocent errand was going to begin a chain of events that will blow her well-ordered, if lonely, life apart. In the midst of all the confusion and pain, Elijah seems to be the only one she can trust and he’s the last person on earth she wants to be near….

“Look at me, mi amorcita, sweetheart. Really look at me. I’m not the kind of man another man messes with. I’m standing between you and anyone who wants to hurt you. I’m putting myself there.”
God. God.

If I had any thought that this was going to be a slow, quiet story, after just a few pages in I knew entirely different. The emotional punches began and did not stop. Siena is this wonderful mix of innocence, brains and quirky humor that instantly had me on her cheering squad. Elijah is an alpha male where the alpha is truly in bold, bright caps. He I had to warm up to, given the incredible events that occurred between him and Siena at the beginning. I didn’t think he could do it, I really didn’t think he could get me past it, but he did redeem himself with his subsequent actions being only those of protection and respect for Siena’s inner and outer beauty. They have their individual quirks and vulnerabilities beneath their strong exteriors which only endeared them even more. Arrows to the heart at every turn with blazing hot sex to balance it out.

“You seduced me.” He wanted to laugh. …
She gave him a satisfied smirk. “It wasn’t that difficult, honey. You’re easy.”

Throw in suspense, revenge and true friendship, and this story packs all the feels I could want. An unexpectedly abrupt ending left me disappointed but still yearning to return to this world of the leopards… ~ Diane, 4 stars

I keep hoping that she'll go back to her old style of writing - stronger plots, sex scenes that enhance the story (and are actually sexy rather than abusive) and characters that aren't involved in an abusive relationship. I think I'm going to have to give up though - Elijah is like her other male characters from the Ghostwalker books and the other Leopard books as well as the more recent Carpathian books. He won't tolerate his woman doing anything he doesn't approve of, she must leave decisions to him, sex is required on demand and he tells Siena that if she leaves him that he'll hunt her down and drag her back. Her female characters are also all cut from the same cloth these days - submissive, tolerant of the abuse and flat personalities. Sex happens at the oddest times in the book and feels like it's been thrown in just to pad the word count.

LOVED Sienna, Elijah... not so much. In fact I absolutely hated him throughout the first half of the book. And, that was quite a disappointment for me because he has been a favorite of mine in previous books. He always seemed very quiet and somewhat tortured but very loving. Well, that changed in this story. He did redeem himself as time went on, though, so 4 stars it is.

Yeah, don’t let that blurb fool you. Siena starts out an idiotic, oblivious, blithering fool so worried about her libido and her looks that she never took a moment to merely take a look at her life. And Feehan turned Elijah Lospostos, a character I have been waiting on for years, into a sadist, and brute, and all but a rapist. After the situation with his sister he damned well should have known better. And because of his actions she is sent back to a situation where she is brutally beaten, then her grandfather is murdered, and then she is freaking mauled and almost died. And that is just the first part of the book.

It did get better, don’t get me wrong. Siena grew a backbone, or at least half of one, pretty damned quick. She had to, all things considered, though Feehan doesn’t seem inclined to let any of her heroines grow too much anymore. And Elijah figured it out how bad he effed up, but he didn’t do what any sane and rationale person would have. Move past it he says? I don’t think so. I figure Feehan used the method she did as a short cut to make her grow up. But personally, I never moved past it and don’t see how the reader can be expected the believe Siena moved past it either. And Joshua, another character I’d liked actually laughed about what Elijah did to her. Not laughing about the situation, but more mocking Elijah for how badly he screwed up. There was no thought to how Siena felt, no righteous indignation one her behalf. Just mocking his friend like it was a prank gone awry.

Things seemed to be smoothing out, but then because these idiotic men can’t be bothered to tell Siena what the hell is going on and what the hell their plans are, she ended up in even more turmoil than is needed. It was gratuitous. And just when you think maybe Elijah is serious about settling things out, he effing spanks her. I am not even kidding. Siena has gone through all of this and he effing spanks her because HE is an ass. No apologies, no real remorse, nothing. And weirdly enough, she isn’t hurt or upset, she finds it funny. If I didn’t have so such anger and irritation over the whole book up to this point, maybe I would too, because she wasn’t intimidated at all. But I just couldn’t.

Looking back through it, as the story progressed he was rather sweet, still overly dominant and aggressive, but sweet. It was a good difference from the way Eli treated Cat in Cat’s Lair. I would have felt completely differently about the entire thing if it weren’t for the way she started them out. But it is like Feehan just couldn’t let him be sweet with her without being completely brutal first. It is like there is some quotient she feels like she has to adhere to.

And the way she is building the world and the reason why these men have been setting things up they way they have is really interesting. There have been hints, but many things have been made clear.

And I was all ready to break up with Feehan. Except that ending was super sweet, and she set up two characters and I fell in love with Alonzo. If his book is next I am terribly likely to go back to her knowing it is just going to piss me off. Just like I fear she’s going to piss me off with Trap in Spider Game. Because she did the same thing with making Wyatt Fontentot such an awful character in Viper Game and then dangling the sequel bait new character.

I don’t like myself very much right now.

This was another intense installment in Christine Feehan's Leopard series. Their double lives and wild natures adds fuel to the fast paced storyline. And the hot sexual romance is pure Feehan style even though a few times the encounter didn’t really fit the part of the story. I also had a little trouble with the overly-alpha males but that is the nature of these beasts and a part of the whole story so I roll with it. The story kept me glued to the pages and it was another win for this author.
