Several authors and illustrators are having their characters and or illustrators reintroduced to children by their publishers through spin offs using enhancements of other authors and artists. This title fits this category.

I found it to be a cute but rather slight story about Eloise building a snowman.
But will today’s children really understand the humor of Eloise calling the Plaza Hotel when she needs “parts” for the snowman?

I like the drawings of her looking out the window but the humor of this story doesn't really resonate with children living in the suburbs. Maybe Donald Trump's children can relate, otherwise, it's a silly book with an unlikely story.

Summary
Eloise live at the Plaza Hotel and she wakes up to snow. She is so excited all she wants to do it go outside. She even convinces her Nanny to let her go to the park before eating breakfast. She then builds a snowman but something seems to always be missing so she goes back and forth to the hotel and the park to try to perfect the snowman.

Connection
This reminds me of when in the chapter when it talks about the Wild Things. It says how even though after he is the king of the forest and everything the boy still wants to come home to the ones who have loved him all along. This reminds me of the end of Eloise and the snowman. I do t want to ruin the ending but it does end with her perfecting the snowman to her eyes and returning kind of like the boy in the Wild Things.

Reaction
I liked Eloise and the Snowman. I like the uplifting spirit that Eloise has and also the fact that she just the insight of child. I just love how she seems to always be curious and just needs to figure everything out on her own. I think it reminds readers to go explore and that being curious is not always a bad thing!

This Fiction is about a girl named, Eloise. She looks outside and it snowing! Nana comes and they build a wonderful snowman, but something is missing! My favorite part was when Eloise ordered the manger to make the snowman a house. Please read this nice book.
