"He was everything I wanted, but the one I couldn't have." Back in high school, Shane Ventana was the sh*t. I mean he was hot, popular, mysterious, the ultimate bad boy. I swear the guy could wet panties by just cocking his brow. Not that his cock or his brow were anywhere near me, Shane didn’t know I existed.
But there I was, busy with my daily Shane stalking in the halls when the unthinkable happened--my dad eloped with Shane’s mom. And to make matters even worse, Shane took it out on me. My life couldn’t get worse, right?
Wrong! I fell in love with him. I mean there he was, my dream guy, in the room right next to mine. I couldn’t help myself. But who falls in love with their stepbrother? Don’t answer that.
Just trust me, everything was perfect. Well, it was perfect until he left. But life likes to screw with me and just when I thought I was over him, I heard the words that made my heart start beating all over again--“Shane is coming”.
Stepbrother Bad Boy is a standalone novel. It contains adult content and a stepbrother who likes to talk dirty.
I cant even remember the amount of times i smiled reading this book. But it was a lot! :) Shane and Rosaline's relationship had my heart doing cartwheels the whole time. Shane is the best bad boy too, he's nobody you wanna mess with but he's a sweetheart to his true love. The story just kept piling on the sweetness when it turned out he was in love with her for even longer! He even got a tattoo in her memory! I swear my heart melted when i read that. :) My only problem, if i had to say there was a problem, would be with Jim, the evil perverted step-father. I really wanted him to be part of the climax of the story or at least a second climax. His role in the story kinda ended with Shane punching him once over his f#%ked up comment. I kinda wanted Shane to save his 'princess' once more. ;) 5 Bad-Boy-Stars! ☆☆☆☆☆
Shane had a really rough childhood living with his addict father and drug dealer grandmother, but he was a really, sexy bad boy in high school. Rosalie is a nice, college bound young lady in high school that is crushing hard on Shane. Then Shane's mother marries Rosalie's father. What happens when that bad boy is sleeping next door to you? First, Shane is a really hot, sexy NICE young man underneath his bad boy exterior. There are lots of twists and turns to enjoy in this book.
Rosalie is like any other high school girl she sees a guy that she has a major crush on. She thinks he doesn't know she exist. Yet, when her dad marries his mom things turn a lot more complicated. This is such a great read!
Not what I expected when I bought this but instead it was way better. The story plot was good and moved along at a good pace. I wish there was more to each side but I really liked this book. The sexual stuff was pretty hot as well.
Є деякі нюанси які так скомкано подались, але чи то під настрій чи я незнаю, залишаю тверду 4✨️ досить добре, і головний герой просто булочка з коричкою😍 Шейн моя любоффф🫶🫶🫶
**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review Rosalie is a quiet girl finishing up high school who lives with her mother and controlling step-father. She spends a portion of her time stalking Shane, the school bad boy. While she's slowly forming a bond with her father, she finds out that her dad has eloped with his long-time girlfriend and Shane is now her new step-brother. Fast forward six months and Rosalie has moved in with her father and step-mother after not being able to take anything more from her step-dad. Shortly after moving in, Shane is also forced to move in. As they slowly bond, she finds out there's way more to him than his bad boy exterior.
I really loved this story. I felt it was a fully fleshed out story from start until finish. Rosalie learning to be strong in a world where her life has been anything but roses. As the story progresses, we learn more and more about the darkness she is overcoming. The same for Shane. In the beginning, we see a big boy with an attitude, but once he starts interacting with Rosalie, we see how he really is and understand what he's been through from the time he was little. My only problem with this book is that I though the ending was pretty rushed, but everything was so well done it was still totally 5 stars!
*I received this book in exchange for an honest reveiw.*
I love the step brother concept and really wanted to like this book, but it ended up being too simple for me. There needed to be a little bit more drama, like a cat and mouse game or just showing more resistance. Rosalie and Shane ended up giving into their romance too easily. Their relationship seemed to just be on repeat. I would've thought 2 people sneaking off at the same time on the same days would've been kind of obvious.
I think the characters were overly immature for me, as well. Yes, they were in high school when the book started, but by the end of the book, they hadn't grown out of their high school personalities, even though it was years later.
I would've liked to have found out what caused Rosalie's nightmares. The connection between her step-father and nightmares seemed pretty signficant, but was left on a cliffhanger.
If you love steamy novels, like me, then I would keep looking. There was maybe 1 scene that had potential, but it was too brief. This is always a disappointment for me.
Overall, I think that the book could use some work, but it's a quick enough read. Even though I wasn't as impressed as I had anticipated, I'm still looking forward to reading more of Veronica's work!
It was exciting at first then...it started to feel like the plot ain't that unique. It's the same ol stuff; the guy's an asshole (which I love), he's got issues about his parents, hates his stepsister or something like that, then he'll leave, then comeback, they'll see each other but he's got someone else, etc. It wasn't bad, but I don't know why it's always like that though I know it's exciting that way.
Did I miss a page? what happened to her nightmares? it disappeared after she left her stepdad but what really happened years ago? was she raped? Unsolved!
I enjoyed the novel, I didn't get bored, I skipped just a tiny bit towards the end (it wasn't that important)and It was too short for my liking.
GREAT READ!!!!!!!!!Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Couldn't put it down until I finished it. Shane and Rosalie were a cute couple, when they finally got together, who really cared for each other. Rosalie sacrificed their love for each other because she thought it was the best thing for him and his future. I loved the way it ended. Things happen for a reason and if it's meant to be, it will. I would have liked to have known what happened in the parking lot when Rosalie was a Little Princess that caused her nightmares. I liked the background info about Shane. It explained a lot. I received this book as a gift for an honest review. Patsy Sacco
Oh dear me, what happened? The first few chapters on the sample seemed great so I purchased it. Then it starts to go all over the place. It s rushed and all over the place, the ending is far to quick, it needed more depth to it. There is to many gaps in between leaving you wondering well what happened. I read this in 2.5 hours. Far to short. To me it feels unfinished. Nit the best writing either, weak storyline, weak characters and lacks any depth or real strong emotion. Just didn't draw me in.
Ugh! Another book that sounded promising but sorely disappointed. I had to force myself to finish. There were several serious events that occurred in the protagonist's childhood that were hinted at but never explained. She suffered from nightmares about said events but readers are left confused. Why hint that her stepfather was abusive and inappropriate and the nightmares revolved around her relationship with him? It was totally frustrating.

I'm voting this book a three stars. My explanation? I enjoyed the story, but I feel like it was rushed in some areas and jumped to certain situations quickly, where the author could have played them out a bit and made it a bit more suspenseful instead of "Oh were right into it. ok. wtf?" I dont like to leave spoilers so I am hoping that those who've read the story understand what I'm talking about. For those who want a quick read, this book isn't bad for that. But I feel like it was great story line that was a bit wasted with what could have been done with it. So, as much as the story wasn't bad it wasn't played out quite right for my liking.
I’m busy with reading Hebwill be my ruin by KA Tucker... That book is heavy and I wanted a light read before bed, looked on my kindle and found this rather short book.
I started reading it and I found myself smiling. It’s a happy book. Yes there are a lot of thing I was cringing with but still...
I loved the respectful relationship they had! Also this book contains explicit material.. but comparing to other stephbrother romances this one contains more story than sexy scenes.
I’m giving this one 4 happy, easy reading stars. Now I guess I can go to bed with a light head and heatt.
I was able to read this in an hour. I wanted to like it, there was a lot of potential. Potential angst (I love me some angst), potential hot bad boy (I love me a bad boy)...all potential, no follow through.
This book was all telling--no showing. Very few details, very little emotion and very very little plot development. Rosalie's home-life with her mother and stepfather could be fleshed out SO much more. But they mention how horrible it is...then that's it. Seriously, that's it. They hint about what happened to her as a child, but never develop it. And her mother and stepfather are caricatures, completely one-dimensional, no development...they are there to be the villains (who are only in maybe 5-10 percent of the plot).
There are absolutely no transitions either. I was beyond frustrated about this while reading! Shane, the hot misunderstood bad boy, is at one minute mean to Rosalie (the not-quite virginal good girl heroine) the very next minute she trusts him with a pretty serious problem. No transition, I remember squinting at the book wondering if I was missing a big chunk of the novel. Perhaps my kindle didn't download it completely, but in chunks? But alas, no. Just no development. I would be reading it, then suddenly it would say 4 years later...4 years??? There was SO much that could have, should have, happened in those 4 years. Nothing is mentioned. Everything is glossed over--and I mean everything. Shane's and Rosalie's relationship, Rosalie's awful home-life (which is fixed after a couple chapters in the beginning...such a let down when it comes to novels), how they're separated, then how they're back together. No details. No development. Nothing. All glossed over plot.
This novel took me only an hour to finish. I'm a fast reader--but not that fast. I'm pretty sure I didn't skim either...granted there was nothing to take in, nothing to require thoughts because everything was glossed over (I know I'm being repetitive about everything being glossed over--but I can't stress enough how frustrating the lack of detail and development was. I'm just trying to warn readers the best way I know how).
The only reason I gave this two stars, instead of one, is because there was a lot of potential (again, I'm using this work WAY too often!). This could have been an amazing angsty new adult novel. Instead, this was a shell of a book. I would not recommend this, especially if one needs to pay to read it.
I can't score it very high, because Rosalie was a bit of an idiot. I can't believe she 'didn't think' about moving in with her father for as long as she did after knowing that there was a room ready and waiting for her, because it literally didn't occur to her.
I didn't really like Shane very much because the author really couldn't decide what kind of personality he had. Literally bipolar that one. Every interaction he had with Rosalie was him being a crude uber asshole, both publicly and privately. Then boom, next thing you know he is charming and roses.
Lots of time jumping on this one. And amazingly they got their HEA... an unlikely HEA. Rest behind spoilers Also, where did her nightmares go? Amazing how they just vanished. And there was so much alluding to that nightmare incident and her possibly being raped... Was she? Never clarified. Was she actually touched inappropriately by her step dad? Never clarified.
And wow, her mother was a horrible person.
Also, never was explained why Shane didn't get along with his mother.
Also an unpublished writer and an artist living in California? Without them needing other day jobs... Wow... Must be a 'FRIENDS' situation where rent isn't an issue. Cause hhhaaaaaaa.
I enjoyed this story but I felt like I'm missing pieces that would have made this journey more complete. Rosalie is stalking Shane, she sees herself as invisible and at the same time we learn that her home life is stressful – there is a step-father that is pushing boundaries but we never really get the details on what is going on behind closed doors or in her nightmares – I want this information. Shane seems to have it together but in reality his world has been built on a shaky foundation with his home life. I love when Shane and Rosalie find themselves together and we get to peek inside Shane's head to find out the origin of the "Princess" nickname … swoonworthy … I don't want to give away this wonderful moment. I love how Rosalie finally asserts her independence to get herself out of her mother's house and that she pursues her dreams. Shane is really trying to break away from the life he grew up living. Overall a good romance with a nice balance of drama, sexual tension and heat to keep you entertained. I just wish some parts were expanded to give a more complete story.
Panty wetting hot Sometime you find that just right book, the one that had the right amount of happy and sadness in it. You shed a few tears while reading and you root for the bad boy to get what he deserves, the unknown girl to get the hot guy. Well look no more because this is that book and more. I love the storyline and the complications that come with it. Well written and very entertaining to read. This is Shane and Rosalie’s story and both but there hearts of their lives into their work.
To me the title is a little misleading. Sounds like it would be a lurid taboo sex romp. But the book is actually a sensitive love story about two troubled teens who find themselves suddenly related by marriage well after they became acquainted in high school. The author takes us through their history to help us understand what life experiences they had that shaped them into the teens they are and the adults they will become. I enjoyed this book tremendously.
I couldn't help it. I literally devoured this book. I didn't even rest much. I loved the overall story. But and they are a couple, i was left wondering about her mother and the things that she didn't say and also the stepfather. The way it was implied what was implied. Also that she wasn't any more depressed. If a child goes through that by someone they trusted they would have way more issues than just 'nightmares'. I had trouble believing what I read. There was no real dealing with awhat had happened. Just that.
Stepbrother Bad Boy by Veronica Daye is my first book by this author and a pretty solid read. I've been on a roll with reading the taboo books about step siblings recently but I must say I'm hooked. Each book has had a different spin on the subject and I love to see what spin a author puts on this subject. With this being said Veronica did she fabulous job of getting my attention from the beginning and never letting go until the very last page. The characters had some smoking hot chemistry in and out of the bedroom. All in all so really great book that I would highly recommend.
I really wanted to like this story, however Shane portrayal as a badboy was a farce. He had a typical teenager attitude upped by 5. The trouble he got into was because he was a misguided child. He was on the honor roll for crying out loud, what bad boy do you know makes the honor roll. His like for Rosalie wasn't completely clear. He remembered her from when she was little, but there was nothing special about their encounter. also Rosalie, stepfather issue wasn't completely explained especially the parking lot scene. The beginning was promising but it turned out to be disappointing.
It was a good book but it was missing something. First off I loved both characters but parts of the book didn't line up. They are in bed "making love" one minute and literally the next she tells him she met someone else! Really??? He believes her and like that he's gone? Then they bring up this childhood memory that gives her nightmares but then the book is over...no real answers. There were other parts too but I'll stop there.
Loved this book! Shane and Rosalie's love story while it had it's ups, downs and twists and turns was amazing from start to finish! Shane is that Bad Boy we all wanted and loved and Rosalie was so sweet but strong! Couldn't put this one down till I finished! Can't wait to read more from this amazing author!
