On the island of tortola in the Virgin islands the picture perfect place with sun, surf & sand Madelyn Garrett decides to get her life back together with her best friend Nichole until one day Nichole suddenly disappears without a trace.
Special Agent Nathan Brewer is sent in to find a serial killer Madelyn & Brewer join forces to find the Psychopath, immediately they suspect Jim Nicholes husband Jim who is violent & abusive , but that doesn't match the time space between the killings as Jim was somewhere else, but what they do find is the killer picks girls with dark hair, similar builds & lives close to each other, but its when he talks about a previous case involving The Field dresser the true fear he has when Madelyn is next on the list he wants to protect her.
I found the blossoming romance between Brewer & Madelyn a bit over the top the author concentrated more on the explicit sex scenes between the two I found hard to read as it was bordering on pornographic if the author concentrated more on the actual case it would have been a better read as far as my rating is concerned I think 2.5 stars
On the island of Tortola in the Virgin Islands there's a bit more that sun, surf and beautiful scenery, Tortola is also the home to a serial killer. After three years on the “Field-Dresser” case, Special Agent Nathan Brewer is sure that he knows who the next victim is going to be. The killer has always killed women close to each other and after the latest body had been discovered Nathan is sure Madelyn Garrett is in danger, now to just convince her to trust him and let him protect her.
For All to See is one of those books I went in expecting it to lean more towards the chasing a killer type of a story but it ended up really focusing more on a developing romance between the investigating agent and the potential victim. This is not necessarily a bad thing as I do enjoy a suspenseful romance read too but I had gone in wanting a bit more to the case than I ended up getting.
Also, I'm find with the idea of the sexy agent and the potential victim story line and the pair forming a relationship but I'm not sure if this just felt rushed into or quite what it was overall that just didn't completely jive with me. There's one scene that really kind of turned me off between the pair that bordered on creepy in my opinion that just kind of ruined the tone of rooting for the couple to fall in love.
Overall, decided on three stars for this one. I'd like to have been more invested in the couple and seen more of the solving of the case.

For All to See is a romantic suspense that takes place on the lovely Caribbean island of Tortola. Descriptions of the scenery alone are enough to draw the reader into the story. Add in a despicable killer and two scarred individuals and it makes for a compelling read.
Madelyn suffered not only physical but mental abuse to the point that she no longer trusts anyone. Honestly I was blown away with how quickly she opened up to romantic interest Nathan. Her story was heart-breaking, so was Nathan's-- but to a lesser degree. These two seemed destined to be together, and there was definite heat from their first meeting.
The story centered around Nathan protecting Madelyn while trying to track down the serial killer. I wish there had been more focus on the investigation and less on the instant romance. The serial killer never felt like a huge looming threat because there just wasn't a whole lot of suspense leading up to his big reveal. But on the romance side, there were quite a few steamy scenes, perfect for a love affair in the tropics.
I enjoyed the shifting POV between Madelyn and Nathan. It's always interesting to be able to get into the thoughts of both characters, especially when a romance is blooming. While I did enjoy the story and liked the characters, I never really felt any suspense past a couple fleeting scenes. Overall, this novel read more like a romance and less like a suspense. So if you like romance with a touch of suspense, then I think you'll enjoy this novel.
It's been awhile again since I have read a good Romantic Suspense novel so when the opportunity turned up to review a book that by all means was a romantic suspense - I was totally over it! :D
"Trust isn't a grand gesture, it's small, nearly insignificant thing to the rest of the world, but to the person who deserves your trust... it's everything."
Madelyn Garrett is a simple woman - an English Teacher in the islands, all she wants is to live her life peacefully. But that peace is shattered when her best friend goes missing and it puts her on path of one very special Agent Nathan Brewer.
Now Agent Brewer has been on the trail of a vicious serial killer - a killer that he has tracked to the islands, but what he never expected was the temptation that Madelyn would be for him!
"No matter how well the truth is buried, no matter how secure the locks, it always finds a way to escape. Reality is relentless and so are we."
It is very difficult to review a suspense - thriller book without leaving spoilers - but I am definitely going to try!
The serial killer aspect of the story is spot on! I loved the suspense, the kind of upheaval that the characters go through after finding out that there is a killer amongst them, that aspect was just perfect.
What I did not like was Madelyn and Nathan together. Don't get me wrong, each of the characters were quite good and even identifiable, but only individually. Sadly, the romance between them seemed quite forced, i.e. as if the author had to get them together because they are the protagonists!
And I don't believe that's even the author's fault! Nope, Madelyn and Nathan just weren't right for each other. That's the only part where this book failed me! Yet I still give this book 4 stars, because The suspense in this book was spot on that even me, who is able to predict killers quite easily, was unable to, at least till the end!
Romance triumphs over mystery in this book as we get to see more of how the protagonists came to connect with each other than the little nuances that may lead to the Field Dresser. When it comes to mystery, it's the little details that pique the interest of readers as they try to connect them piece by piece before they reach the big reveal.
3.5 to be exact. Megan Mitcham is a new author to me. However, I will be reading more of her books. I like an author who doesn’t “tell” me the story, but rather “shows” me the scenes and lets me put it together myself. For All to See is filled with intrigue and mystery. It’s a fast-paced novel that will keep you reading. Set in the British Virgin Islands, you not only get a good story, but you get a fantastic setting.
Was this one difficult to figure out? Not especially, but you really aren’t 100% sure until the end. Even though I had it figured out a little past the middle of the book, it was still just a strong hunch until about three or four chapters to the end. My favorite character? Deacon, of course!!!
Another book that I wondered if I was reading the same book as other reviewers. I really didn't like it that much. I didn't like the characters, not as individuals, and especially not as a couple. The plot wasn't all that suspenseful or exciting either. At least I won't feel like I have to read the other book in the series!
I'm a huge fan of her BASE BRANCH series, and was excited to see this new venture of hers. If you couldn't tell in the previous series, Megan does suspense well -- and that certainly carried through into this new Bureau series.
In book one, FOR ALL TO SEE, we have Madelyn and Nathan. As the synopsis states, Madelyn left the US, leaving problems and fears behind. In her new home of Tortola, she has made friends and has been welcomed by the little community. Nichole is her closest friend, and when she goes missing, Madelyn's carefully planned world goes awry.
Not even twenty-four hours into Nichole's missing persons case, the FBI gets involved. With them comes Nathan Brewer; he believes that Nichole fits the missing persons profile of a serial killer he's tried finding in the past, and he wants to capture the killer once and for all.
When Madelyn first meets Nathan, he's a large force standing against the wall in the local chief's office. He's quiet, seemingly brooding, and imposing. He also has the sexiest voice she's ever heard. However, points against him, his partner is hands-y and quite frankly, Madelyn isn't a fan. She also doesn't appreciate his investigative style when they first meet. "You sat--I'm sorry," she said, raising a hand to the sky, "--stood in that meeting and asked one question. You didn't even take notes. Who cares that a backwoods cop told you to sit and listen? Do you take orders from him?" ...to which he showed off his exemplary memory and rephrased every little thing she'd mentioned in the previous room. But her sass... that's what I started to appreciate most about her.
Nathan, though, finds Madelyn to be intriguing. He likes her spunk and her fast mouth. He refused to read her file, but the more he sees her, the more he wants to see her smile and learn what has kept her so guarded. He wants to know what prompted her to leave home and never look back. But he wants to hear it from her.
For the first time in a long time, he fears for her life. The killer he's after is known for taking a second person shortly after the first, and the second is a person very close to the first victim. All hands point to Madelyn -- and Nathan finds himself wanting to keep her safe for more reasons than just putting the killer behind bars.
I really enjoyed the relationship between Madelyn and Nathan. I loved that everyone called her Maddie, but Nathan kept her as Madelyn. I loved that Madelyn's pup (err, large dog) was a strong judge of character and didn't care for many people, but he accepted Nathan immediately (much to Madelyn's chagrin at first, of course). Their relationship grew due to the investigation, but it was real and true. Madelyn has trust issues, which were certainly earned, and they certainly play a role towards the end -- but Nathan only ever has her in mind.
I'm super excited to see where Nathan's friends go with the rest of this series. Ava and Keen... Hmm. I cannot wait to read their story. You get enough of a little tease in FOR ALL TO SEE to make you beg for more...
Holy Cow! This was an awesome suspenseful and horrific read with a liberal splash of sexy thrown into it. Madelyn Garrett leads a very simple life, she’s active in her community but keeps to herself. She has a dark past that she doesn’t want to reveal and that’s why she keeps people at arms length. Then her whole world shatters one fine morning and peace and contentment is a thing of the past. She is grief stricken when someone she is close to goes missing.
Enter sexy and hot Agent Nathan Brewer, and sparks fly even though both of them actively try to tame it. Nathan had never believed that the serial killer he had captured was the Field-Dresser killer. All his instincts point to the killer still being at large but they have a suspect in custody. So was this a copycat killer or was it the real deal or just another man or woman out for the thrill of a kill. The moment Nathan meets Madelyn, he had this incredible need to protect her. He doesn’t understand it but he cannot keep himself away from her. Love has a way of sneaking into your heart when you least expect or want it. Madelyn and Nathan finds themselves in a cat and mouse game with a vicious killer while they were also fighting feelings for each other. Sadly only their pasts stand between them having a happy life. Nathan like Madelyn has a dark secret, which when revealed tore me up. This world is such a freaking cruel place where monster do lie in wait to take everything away from you. Sometimes if we are lucky a hero emerges to save the day.
The story was laid back at the beginning like the Virgin Island that Madelyn resides in, but it all changed when Nathan found proof that there indeed has been a new murder. I panted, I almost screamed and hugged my pillow through For All To See. The incident at the beach almost made me pee in my pants and I almost had a heart attack. And then the clues pointed at something and the evidence made me wanna throw up and hole myself up in a steel-cased 10 by 10 away from Mr. Crazy. Boy howdy was he bleeding crazy and off his or her head. He is sick and nasty and inhuman. I wanted to dive into the book and shoot him for real, when Nathan described his depravity and again when Deacon was involved. This KILLER is unhinged to say the least. Nathan races against time to keep Madelyn safe, to find the killer before he strikes next, he doesn’t know if any of the people Madelyn considers to be her friend is indeed none other than the Field-Dresser serial killer. Then we get a sneak peek inside the real bat-poop crazy killer’s head and I wanna throw up again. I have no idea how the killer became so unhinged but he is to say the least. Will Nathan figure out who the kill is in time to maybe convince Madelyn to spend the rest of her life with him? Will Madelyn confess true feelings before she is indeed killed? Umm, you gotta read to find out if hot and sexy Nate get his strong and kickass girl, Maddy at the end of the story.

Actual rating: 4.5 Stars
For All to See is an evenly paced romantic suspense novel about Madelyn and Nathan’s efforts to prevent Madelyn from becoming another victim of a serial killer who killed Madelyn’s best friend. Madelyn is a school teacher. Although she’s involved in the community, she doesn’t have many close relationships because she doesn’t trust easily. Nathan is one of the FBI agents on the case. He’s protective, but not bossy or overbearing. I loved both the main characters in this book. They were easy to relate to, even though I haven’t experienced their personal traumas. They were well-motivated and multi-faceted.
I appreciated that their relationship took time to develop, despite their initial reactions to one another being a bit over-the-top. The story is told from both perspectives in third person. It was helpful to see what each character was feeling about the progression of the relationship.
Readers who like extremely detailed sex scenes will like For All to See. I would have preferred more danger and less play-by-play on the sexual encounters, but I know each reader has different tastes, so I can’t say that this detracts from the story or not. A few scenes in the book are told from the perspective of the killer. I didn’t feel that those scenes contributed much to the story, because Nathan says almost the same thing about the killer that the killer said about himself. However, I liked that the author hid the killer’s identity during those scenes. The suspect list was really short, and most of the possible suspects were eliminated early on, but hiding his identity still helped contributed to the mystery.
The best aspect of For All to See was definitely the characters. The aspect I liked the least was the writing itself. I often felt like the sentences could have more than one meaning because of the word choices. For example, my first interpretation of the first sentence of the book was that Madelyn had been dragging a heavy door on the way to a bar. Of course, that’s absurd, and it meant she was opening a heavy door. But, that’s not how I read it. Also, I noticed some problems with the dialogue, like a character replying in a way that didn’t fit what the other character had said.
Overall, I enjoyed reading For All to See. It has a satisfying ending that wraps everything, including the relationship, up neatly. I would recommend it to readers who like to try to figure out the killer, while getting to know interesting characters with tortured pasts. It was fun to watch their romance bloom amidst distrust, danger, and sexual tension.
A real murder mystery full of intrigue, suspense and mounting tension. An unknown serial killer strikes on a remote island, FBI agents have figured out the next victim and need to protect her while trying to figure out who the killer is. Gosh what a ride! I was hooked from the first and working out myself just who the killer was, but that wasn't made easy the author kept me guessing for a while before I sussed it. All the elements I love in this type of story, enough twists and turns to keep it interesting and main characters to fall for. Well written with a good pace and flow throughout. Great first book in new series.
Madelyn Garrett moved to the island of Tortola for the peaceful and tranquil life on it and it's not until her best friend goes missing that she discovers that her island paradise may not be much of one.
FBI Agent Nathan Brewer has been on the hunt for a serial killer with the moniker, “the Field-Dresser” for three years (even though most believed he had already been captured) and it appears that the hunt may be at an end when bodies matching the M.O of the killer surface on the island of Tortola, which is also within the territory he had predicted the killer would strike next. What Nathan does not expect is the instant attraction he has to Madelyn but he would go to any lengths to protect her from a vicious killer who has her in his sights and is playing deadly game of cat and mouse with them.
Okay, I so did not see this coming! For All to See is the kind of book that will have you clutching the pillows and hiding under the covers even as you read because you can't resist finding out who the killer is! The villainous character is a very deranged and sick one and the murders are so gory and chilling that for a minute, I had to check to be sure that this book was not classified as horror. Thankfully, the romance between Madelyn and Nathan more that balances out the mayhem in the story.
Madelyn and Nathan are kindred spirits, each with a painful past which they overcame but not without scars. Madelyn is very independent and always roots for the underdog and Nathan is very much a protector, which is something she needs due to her need to always charge in and help without regard for her own safety. I loved their relationship and the fact that even though he was protective of her, he also was aware of her strengths and utilized them.
Ms. Mitcham has written a gripping story that will keep the reader on the edge of the seat and also keep the brain actively trying to figure out whodunit. An absolutely great read!

So far when I have picked up a novel from this author, I have come away very satisfied. With this one I was even more so than any of the other ones I have read from her. I do so love a good intrigue and in this one she delivers that with big time suspense and danger. It starts out innocently enough when you are introduced to Madelyn who is also a teacher out with her friend. While they are doing that you are introduced to Special Agent Nathan who is called in to further investigate a serial killer whom most have believed has already been caught. The unthinkable happens on the island and her best friend is missing and in swoops the agents. She also inserts a touch of lightheartedness so this is not so dark and dreary. He finds her different than most women he has meet and he sees beyond her exterior. They have a attraction that can not be denied even with all that will go on. Even though at first she thinks she can take care of herself Nathan soon proves to her that anything can happen and she grudgingly admits it. As the hunt is on plus keeping her safe while one step ahead of the killer, you will be chewing and biting your nails while also loving their foreplay with each other. The killer that is revealed layer by layer is one sick individual that will leave a sour taste in your mouth. Signs of a good writer is the ability to wrap you up with anxiety bouncing between killer and romance because you so want to see them together before either can get door no.3. This author can do all that and then some. When the killer is finally revealed you will be left gaping after you are left dumbfounded because you will have so not seen that coming. The mixture of romance is just the right amount that goes with this type of storyline so neither are chocked out. Get the lipstick out to put the smile on your face though because it will have a special event at the end. Received a copy for a honest review.
Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!
When Madelyn's friend goes missing and then turns up, not just dead but brutally murdered, the FBI send Nathan it, since its highly likely this is a known serial killer that he's been after for the last three years. Its also highly likely, that Madelyn could be his next victim. Nathan will do anything to stop that happening.
I do so love to step out of my comfort zone now and then, it keeps me on my toes, in more ways than one. A crime/thriller/suspense that had me gripped from beginning to end, and indeed, into book two!
I love being unable to stop whodunnit, as equally as if its easy it spot. Here, I was proved wrong, but I don't mind. I really did not see that one coming.
I loved the build upto it, you get some of him, I love getting the baddie as well as the goodies, I really do. I must have a warped mind, I dunno, do you ike to hear from the baddie?? Anyway he tells why he does what he does, and its not nice, no ma'am. He tells of his background, his first kill, and why he continues to kill. He tells why Madelyn is in his sights.
I loved the build up between Nathan and Madelyn, their past histories, that took a while to come out, each having had a difficult upbringing. That it took a while, that it wasn't all laid out straight away, kept me guessing as to what they were gonna say, and again, I was surprised.
It does get a little...gory...in places, the FBI files contain all the details and they all come out at some point or other, so be warned.
Its the first in a series, and the first by this author I've read. I would like to read more, both in the series, and by this author. One to add to my favourites pile I guess!

I have fast become a fan of this author, Ms Megan Mitcham, who has the ability with descriptive words and unique phrases to capture the reader in a web of intrigue and suspense while creating such relatable characters that one has a hard time putting down the book and going about a mundane day. This journey carries us to a beautiful Caribbean with old world values, where one leaves one's door unlocked and everyone knows you only it is totally corrupted and tainted by a horrific serial killer the likes you would never want to see and I'm rather amazed at the author's ability to conjure up such horror and also able to balance it so well with warmth and fun, and of love and discovery. One never lacks for the other as these books are full and complete with everything in a properly composed meal. I am also from a small Caribbean island and it was a boon to see Carib Lager mentioned as it is one of my country's exports ... says a lot that I am proud of our beer export but there it is I am proud! I like the fact that the female lead characters are strong independent women and although they carry baggage, in reality who doesn't some more than others, they encounter similarly strong male counterparts and they somehow stabilize each other. Ms Mitcham's books always gives us an HEA and truthfully after such intense subjects dealt with in these stories I, for one, am completely thankful. This series has truly begun with a loud bang and from reading a few of MM's books I know it will only get more intense and readers won't be able to get enough. PS... Norman Bates has nothing on this guy and I for sure am locking doors and double checking them!
I received a copy of this book from Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for an honest review and as part of the book's blog tour promotions.
There hasn't been a book that I've read from this author that let me down. From the time I read Enemy Mine of her Base Branch series, I was in love with her. I was a fan right away. I loved the way she establishes her characters. I love how she writes about the development of their relationships. Most of all, I love the way she plays out the suspense and mystery.
With this first book of her new series, we, once again, are remided of exactly why we are fans of Megan Mitcham. Everything we love about her books is very much present in For All TO See. I personally prefer the romance genre. However, I would gladly make an exception for her.
In For All To See, we have a suspenseful story that's at times gory, horrific, mindd-boggling, andd unpredictable. It's difficult to pinpoint who the real culprit was. And even the moment you do get it right, it still comes unexpectedly. You'll keep holding your breath in this book. I advise that you remember to keep breathing because the thrill is really going to blow your mind.
Once again, I am so amazed by a story I did not even realize I was out of my usual genre. But, hey, it was all worth it. Megan Mitcham is truly an awesome writer whose books have the best narrative and action that every reader will enjoy.
Madelyn had built a simple life for herself in the British Virgin Islands. She lives off the grid and spends her days teaching the local kids. She doesn't have many friends, but she treasures the few relationships she's built. When her best friend disappears after a girl's night out, Madelyn is immediately concerned. When an FBI agent, Nathan, shows up hunting for a serial killer, her concern quickly ramps up to panic even though she doesn't want to believe her friend could be dead. The situation becomes even more dire when Nathan reveals that the killer hunts in pairs, and he believes Madelyn could be the next victim. Not one to shrink back, Madelyn goes on the offensive and decides to help Nathan find the killer before he finds her. In the meantime, she is also trying to fight her attraction to Nathan. She doesn't want to want him or trust him, yet she does. None of that will matter though if Nathan can't keep her from becoming the Field Dresser's next victim.
Having read a few of this author's Base Branch series books, I was pretty sure I would enjoy this story. I actually ended up liking it much better than the Base Branch books. I found the characters easy to connect with, and the suspense carried through the whole novel. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.
I was given an ARC book for an honest review free of persuasion from the author or anyone else affiliated with this book.
CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS
This book was wonderful! It had suspense, romance, and a crime drama all rolled up in one. I enjoyed how the story unfolded as the pages turned.
Madelyn has moved to an island to escape her past. She has successfully buried her past and is looking forward to the quiet simple life she has created for herself. That is until her best friend goes missing. Everything changes once her best friend Nichole is found brutally murdered. Although out of their jurisdiction, the FBI send in Nathan to investigate. Nichole's murder resembles that of a serial killer's 3 year reign.
How is Madelyn's life turned upside down? Is she in danger? Does Nathan capture the killer?
This is the first book I have read by this author and I immensely enjoyed it. I look forward to the next book in this series due out in October!
Another great romantic suspense by Megan Mitcham! I stayed up half the night to finish it because I could not wait to find out how it all played out. Nathan and Madelyn's relationship progresses at a steady pace as they get to know each other. Neither one was prepared to find love, especially in the middle of a murder investigation, but it fit into the story nicely. The suspense element was written extremely well and kept me guessing as to who it could be. The description of the crimes committed may be a bit gruesome for some, so be warned. Madelyn's dog Deacon has such a great personality that he almost seemed human. Great start to a new series, looking forward to next book due out this fall.
Madelyn escaped from her family to live on her own and grow. When her best friend disappears she wishes it's something a little less sinister but when the FBI shows up she's afraid of what could be. Special Agent Nathan has been chasing a killer for three years and knows that Madelyn's friend is the first and he's terrified that she's next. As a special agent he's working hard to protect Madelyn and track down the man responsible. But as they spend more and more time together their feelings grow and keeping Madelyn safe is all that Nathan wants. But can he save her from a madman with a hidden agenda? Really great, sexy, suspenseful read. Excited to continue the series!
I received a copy through the Goodreads First Reads contests...
This is a new to me author and I absolutely loved the book! Can not wait for more in this series. It kept me turning pages until the very end!
I really liked the amount of strength the main character had, she was one tough cookie, but not without vulnerabilties, which made her relatable.
There's lots of little things that make you try and figure everything out, with just the right amount of romance and sexy in there too. I enjoyed it very much!
I was given a copy of For All to See from NetGalley for an honest review and this is my review. I loved this book and can't wait to get my hands on the second one in the series. Nathan and Madelyn were very well matched and I really enjoyed how they fell for each other throughout the book. I also loved the mystery part of the book. It was very well written and it kept the reader on edge because you were not sure who he was or what he was going to do until the author was ready to tell all. For All to See is definitely a great start to this series and worth five out of five stars.
I loved reading this book. It was so refreshing to have a tightly written storyline with charismatic characters. This is the first time I have read this author but won't be the last. I highly recommend you do not begin it at bedtime. I couldn't put it down. Well worth the lost sleep.
This was the first time reading a book by this author. If I could have just curled up in my chair, and shut out the world, I would have kept on reading this book until I was finished.
I found the plot line was developed nicely, andthe twists and turns were awesome.
And there was enough of a hint for the next book. Now, I need to find book two.....

For all to see by Megan Mitcham Book 1 in the Bureau series 3,5 stars from me
I love romantic-suspense; this was even more I got drama and crime inclusive. A very well written book about an FBI agent who was on the hunt of a serial killer.
This was A very good thriller . I really enjoyed this book. The suspense was really great. I highly recommend this book . It really kept you in suspense till near the end . I really enjoyed a happy ending.
Quick Fast Read that kept me reading into all hours of the night. Characters are well developed and right blend of romance, mystery and thriller. I haven't read anything by Megan before but I plan to play catch up on her series over the summer. ACh from Netgalley.
Beautiful book! I loved it!! I found a very good story, extremely witty characters and a dog I fell in love with from the first pages! I totally recommend it! Moreover it's a standalone, but in the end the book has a good link with the second one in the series. I love when books are linked!
This book was fab! A hunky hero, a troubled heroine, a serial killer...there is plenty of suspense, action, and intrigue, plus some hot steamy romance. Loved it - great read!
