“Joy in Every Moment” is a book inspired by the author’s own quest for joy in her life. She realized she needed a “search image for happiness” – in other words, needed to know what happiness looked like for her, and where she was most likely to find it. The end result is this lovely little book suitable for anyone wanting to make an effort to recognize – and create – joy in life.

The book primarily consists of exercises one can practice daily (or more often) to find what kind of behaviors most resonate and create feelings of happiness. Inpirational quotes and bold, full-color artwork is included throughout. The end of the book includes worksheets one can use as a way to start journaling.

Listened to this on audio. Great listen for my one little word Breathe for the year. It had a lot of journaling prompts which I hope to go back to. Felt it was a bit short though. If you want to be more joyful this is a great addition to your life.

Joy in Every Moment is a treasure of a book. It speaks to your heart in meaningful ways to enable you to be happier by increasing your ability to recognize joy all around you. Filled with beautiful pictures and quotes, little stories help you put things in perspective, and daily exercises help you keep things in perspective. I consider this book a real find and recommend it to anyone looking for ways to be a little happier in their life.

My thanks to Netgalley and Storey Publishing for making this book available to me to review. I loved it!!

There are no words for that amount of cheese. A handful of advice in here is legitimate, but it is whitewashed in so much overly-sweet allegory that it makes me want to eat something bitter just to counter the taste.

Update: I forgot I had already read this book and accidentally reread it. It didn't bother me as much the second time, so I gave it another star, but it still isn't for me.

I absolutely loved this book. It's simple quotes and exercises that help you learn how to be mindful and live in the current moment and savor it. This act of being mindful in the current moment is a hard behavior we must all learn in order to achieve a better mental state that is more relaxed.

This review is specifically about the Audiobook format. DNF. I think I would like this book but I will have to find it in book format because the voice of narrator they chose for the audiobook is SO ungodly annoying. She sounds like an advertisement, like she's wearing a fake smile the entire time. It's grating. I feel so mean saying this because she probably doesn't talk like that in normal day to day interactions and even if she does it probably wouldn't bother me as much as trying to listen to her read to me a book on "joy". I just cannot help the fact that her performance ruined my experience of this book and I only got a few chapters in. Skip the audiobook, go for the text copy.

A good mix of practical ideas for mindfulness and lots of doable exercises. I would recommend this to people who may have a hard time getting in touch with their emotions who want to get better at mindfulness practices.

Some of the prompts are a bit sillier (every time you use the ESC key on your keyboard think of Extreme Self Care) than others while others may be a bit over simplistic or obvious (lavender is relaxing and you should check in with yourself throughout the day).

This is a really great book if you want small doses of inspiration and daily exercises of gratitude and joy in your life. I read it all at once and hardly any of it sunk in but I do plan on purchasing a copy and reading it daily for happy inspiration and joyful moments.

To experience true contentment, we must be willing to feel all of our emotions. While our natural tendency might be to distract ourselves from discomfort, it is in our willingness to accept what we feel in the moment, acknowledge the emotion, and be willing to let it go that we find true peace.

This is an easy book to just pick up and read a few pages at a time. It can be read much like a daily devotional book. One that I will definitely re-read again in the future!

Each chapter focuses on a different area of one's life and comes with various sections that each have multiple exercises to increase joy. It's meant to be read a section a day - like a devotional. I read the entire book in 2 days, so I didn't really give myself time to do the exercises. Still, I hope to put a few of them into practice as I seek to live with more intentionality.

Such a beautiful book! I really loved the illustrations! The advice is lovely as well, but it really can't be read in a single sitting. Something like this would make a nice gift to be enjoyed over time.
