I admit up front that I'm not one to read stories of "faeries" and "curses," so this was a stretch for me.
Story 1 - "Lily" is from Stobie Piel. It is the legend upon which the other stories in the anthology are based. As such, it ties everything together. For me, however, there was too much of the folklore and not enough of the story in this one. In fact, I didn't appreciate this story until I read the others.
Story 2 - "Isbel" is from Hannah Howell. It is set upon the Scottish border in 1382. Isabel's dreams often lead to reality, and she dreams of an injured man in the woods. That man is Sir Kenneth Davidson. Their story mimics the love of that of "Lily."
Story 3 - "Faerie Princess" is from Elizabeth Ann Michaels. This story was more to my liking for although it had the "faerie" influence, it was a story set in the Regency, in 1818. Lady Krista Maclachlan's "sight" brings General Prince Alexi Petrovich Kaskov to her family's keep.
Story 4 - "Beneath the Midnight Sky" is from Mandalyn Kaye. This one suspends time bringing some of the characters from "Lily" into a future time.
