All I Want for Christmas is a Fake British Boyfriend: A Sweet and Sexy Christmas in the City Romance

Rate this book
I came to London to plan a Christmas gala—not to end up half-naked under a streetlamp with a gorgeous stranger. And definitely not to find out, once the photos go viral, that he’s a member of the royal family.

Now I’m a tabloid punchline, my client’s panicking, and my perfectly planned holiday has gone straight to scandal.

The solution? Pretend we’re dating until the cameras lose interest.
Simple. And nothing Emily Darling, social-media whizz, can’t handle.

Except Oliver isn’t the snotty aristocrat I expected. He’s funny, kind, unfairly sexy—and a Christmas nerd just like me.

We’re supposed to be faking it, but somewhere between the cocoa and the carols, London starts to feel like magic…and Oliver starts to feel like home.

But when a new viral headline makes me question everything, I find myself at Heathrow with a boarding pass, a broken heart, and a question only the man shouting my name across the terminal can answer—Is love really all around?

All I Want for Christmas Is a Fake British Boyfriend is a sparkling, laugh-out-loud, deep-feeling holiday rom-com full of fake dating, royal mayhem, cheeky kids, cheekier grandmothers, puppies in need of adopting, and the kind of love story that makes even a Grinch believe in miracles.

For what it is ( a completely over the top, cheesy, Christmas rom-com) it’s one of the better ones. I’m a sucker for anything that mixes Love Actually and Bridget Jones. The airport scene at the end, CUTE.

3.5 ⭐️ one of the better Christmas rom coms. They all are a bit cheesy but this one was fun to imagine, after all, who wouldn’t want a British nobleman to fall head over heels after a one night stand?

I was going to give it 4 stars, until the term “un-alived” was used. And then all of a sudden it was over. The ending was super rushed.

I think this was part of The Holiday Games series but with characters that didn’t have any relation to it. I think I finished that one with either a 3 or a 4. This one made me feel things entirely differently. While the last book still had one person not liking the holidays, this one found both parties loving it and being raised with all the joy the holidays bring. This one was effortless, carefree and natural. There was no contract or motive for either Oliver or Emily, it was just to avoid scandal and stop the press from mingling too much into Oliver and Emily’s lives. If anything, they became more invested. It fit with the narrative for a new relationship. In the beginning, you can’t keep your hands off each other and one or the other is not only investing in getting to know the person, but how quickly you can get them in bed as well. Desire is triggered heavily in a new relationship, at least for me it was. Emily and Oliver definitely have this going for them in spades. It was entertaining to read and just the fact that you have this prim and proper aristocrat in London having all these scandalous and dirty thoughts about someone. This made me feel like he was a regular man who has desires and needs but can’t express them because of the image needed to portray being professional and put together. It was refreshing and fun to read about as he navigates this and teaches Emily about it. What I also liked from the get go too was how he was himself and didn’t try to put up his proper facade around her but also giving us as the reader a breakdown of how he is in a relationship. Right off the bat he says that he tends to fall hard and wants to go all in if he feels a connection with somebody which was also refreshing! There was none of this arms length crap or hidden pieces. Oliver was wholeheartedly himself and approached his encounter with Emily with no guards up and open to emotions. In fact, the only person who was delaying this relationship was Emily. She found him to be a unicorn and the kind of man who doesn’t just fall into your lap at any inopportune moment so she didn’t think she belonged or deserved him. The story goes on to include all the wonderful things the holidays consist of, parties, drinking, lights, the trees and just the magic of Christmas. I feel like this book and probably another one I plan to read will be the only ones that really dive into the holiday and make it more than the time of year the book is set in. There is even references to well known holiday movies I’ve watched many times so that hit too and added to the magic. Not only that, but I found myself literally laughing during some scenes and that never happens. You even get a cliche airport scene at the end! Most romances tend to avoid this so as not to be placed in the cheesy category but I think if it’s done right, it can really make you feel things. This is only the second book I’ve read that did this so I’m glad it’s not overdone because then it just ruins the moment and feels forced. This way didn’t feel like that at all, and went in a more natural way like the other book I read that included this. The fact that it’s not a regular occurrence is points in my book, pun not intended. It just leaves you thinking that sometimes a good way to win back the person you love is to make a really heartwarming, declaration type of scene and have a cliche setting to go along with it. This one was done really well and it was perfect because it hits at the same time Emily has second thoughts and wonders if she made a big mistake. I hope this series continues with Emily’s sister or maybe even with another member of the aristocracy.

There’s nothing more than I love a fun book with heart and this book delivers that! “All I Want for Christmas is a Fake British Boyfriend” is a swoony, steamy and heartfelt fake dating Christmas romance that was a great way to kick off all the holiday season.

Emily is in London during the Christmas holiday to plan a gala and secure some of the most sought after vendors. After a bumpy fight, the last thing she thought would happen is falling onto a floral manger scene and ruining her shot at securing one of the top floral designers. And then a storm rolls in so she’s in the pub drinking her sorrows away and catches the eye of a British man. Oliver is at first just a normal British guy until after their night together, they are splashed across the tabloids because he happens to be a British aristocrat. To help them both out, they agree to fake dating so Emily can save her gala and Oliver’s family stops trying to set him up with every available woman. But as they spend time together, the chemistry they had from the first night starts to resurface.

I love a fun holiday rom-com and this one delivers. Emily had me cracking up from the start with her lists and unfortunate luck from the plane and all the way when she got to the pub. Emily is determined, smart and works hard to make sure business is successful. Oliver is a swoony British man and I loved how down to Earth he was. I don’t blame him for not giving the full scoop on who he was minutes after meeting Emily. Their first night together was sizzling hot and you could tell how much they were into each other. The fake dating scheme was perfect for them to fix the issues they were each going through. Oliver’s family had me cracking up and his Grandmother was a hoot. Emily and Oilver were so cute together and I loved their story so much. The ending was so sweet and was perfect for them.

All the holiday love and fun

Oh my goodness did I love, love this heartwarming, funny and adorkable holiday romance and the two hot messes who starred in it. From the ridiculous chaos of Emily’s arrival in London with the epic meet cute to the doggy epilogue, this was holiday romcom perfection. Emily runs a party planning business in NYC. Olly is an architect who specializes in sustainable projects. He’s also a member of the peerage with a viscount for a brother. Emily is in London hoping to be hired to plan a very important high society function. But things look bleak after a series of messy and disastrous mishaps culminates in an embarrassing paparazzi photo with Olly. To hopefully solve the issue Emily and Olly agree to fake date while she’s in London. There is instant attraction and chemistry but neither Emily nor Olly was looking for more than a ONS. But fate and feelings cannot always be ignored. To make it to their HEA they’ll have to trust the universe and take leaps of faith all while embracing all the fun and family at the holidays. I loved this low angst romance full of loving families and no necessity for major baggage unpacking. It just made my heart happy to read this and sometimes when the world is a scary place and life is hard that’s exactly what you need. 4.5 stars.

All I want for Christmas is a Fake British Boyfriend is Lili Valente’s newest laugh-out-loud Christmas rom-com.

Emily is going across the pond to land a huge client. She has been preparing for months and it all start crashing around her starting with the flight. That’s start a series of unfortunate events but she does end the night in bed with a sexy Brit, so there is that. And what could ever go wrong with a one-night stand?!

I mean, waking up to finding out that you just slept with a royal is a start…

The scandal. The pictures. The paparazzi. Oh, and the hot mess it does to the business. Then an idea hits… fake dating. Who doesn’t love a love story, right?

These two!! I just love them. They just get each other and the support is 100% there. I love that. They have so much fun together but also have to be serious, when it’s needed. Overall, it’s a hilarious ride and sexy too!

4 ⭐️’s - Emily is in London during the Christmas holiday to plan a gala and after a bumpy fight, the last thing she thought would happen is her ruining her shot at securing one of the top floral designers. Enter Oliver, he pretends to be just someone normal but really his 5th in line to the throne but Emily doesn't know that. A one night stand and a lamppost kiss captured by the paparazzi, these two decide to fake date.

I really enjoyed this book, I loved Oliver and Emily so much. They were adorable and loved each other so much. I do wish we got more story like her planning the gala and more of their relationship and about them. But overall it was a fun story that was a good Christmassy read. The thing that solidified this book for me was them as a couple, just adorable 🥰

Loved this book!

I loved this story of Oliver and Emily! They met when she crashed into a pub back door and ruined a Christmas play practice. This was after a long overseas flight and a crazy trip. They bonded over Guinness and really clicked. It lead to a steamy night and a realization that he was distant royalty and may have lied to her, well omitted the truth. From there the fake relationship starts, or does it? I love these two together! I loved this book and I highly recommend! I couldn't put it down. This story was funny, heartwarming, sexy and truly genuine in the Christmas spirit to boot. Loved it!

Welppp another sexy, witty, spicy, Christmas read. I am in love with Oliver (Olly) & Emily.
I mean Emily does not have the luck of the Irish on her side, but who cares she has a charming British boy it! Speaking of charming...Olly is just that! He is the best fake boyfriend a gal could ask for. I mean these two have off the charts chemistry that just can't be matched. He falls for her just as hard as she falls for him. I know London is a big place, but these two make you feel like they are in their own little world. I enjoyed this book so much.

This was adorable but there was parts that I felt dragged on even though it was only about 270 pages. And some dialogue I remember not really liking but overall so cute and charming. Great story and some really cute and corny swoony moments. Especially the grand gesture

The epilogue might be one of my favs ever. In a different pov then either of the MCs 🐾🐾🐾

It was cute and I would recommend but not at the top of my holiday romance recs

This was a delightful Christmas story. The banter had me actually chuckling.
Not angsty. The little bit of drama was quickly resolved.
Olly and Emily were equally matched in quirks and foibles. She can be a walking disaster. He’s very funny. His family is hilarious. No sign of upper crust snobbishness.
Their attraction is instant. And it sticks.

One if the best Christmas love stories

What do a Nativity Play, lost lugfage, a stuck door at a British Pub and a curvy redheaded woman have in common? They are the beginning of a love story. There us even a small loveable Corgi that mixes into this wonderful story.

stop being fake

This was a cute story of love in the fast lane. With 2 odd people who want to find love but are having issues because people don’t get them. Well they get each other especially when a fake relationship can turn into something real if you just stop being fake.

3.5 stars for me! What a fun little book to read around Christmas time. I enjoyed the characters banter and it felt like such a cute little rom-com! Fairly predictable but you’d be hard pressed to find a Christmas themed rom-com that wasn’t.
