The investigation into an apparent suicide reveals the dark side of medical research and physical attraction when during a slow night on duty paramedic Ana Ashmore drives past a crime scene not broadcast on her first-responder’s radio. Curious as to why, she stops to help, quickly realizing why she’d been excluded from the call. Her sister Sydney’s body has been found and the police believe her death is self-inflicted.

A soon-to-be-divorcee who recently underwent life saving surgery, Sydney planned a fresh start, a career change, and in spite of the procedure that rendered her sterile, to adopt and become a mother. The more Ana sees the future through her sister’s eyes, the more certain she becomes that she wouldn’t have taken her own life. But she needs proof.

Ana investigates with the help of Dr. Jared Monroe, an emergency room physician indirectly tied to the case, and the two develop a complicated attraction. Working against time, the police, and a corrupt healthcare system, Ana and Jared aren’t only looking for the cause of Sydney’s death. They’re looking to save others from her fate. Closing in on the killer’s identity, either of them might be next.

About the author

Belinda Frisch

14 books326 followers
Belinda Frisch has worked as a cosmetologist, a medical records auditor, and a real estate broker, but her lifelong dream is of being a writer. While other kids were passing notes in class, Belinda was writing creatively. She was the only person she knew who asked for the Writer’s Market for Christmas or had any idea what a SASE was. Her journal, and usually an Anne Rice novel, were her constant companions.

She has written poetry, short stories, novels, a textbook, and co-authored a screenplay when her novel, Cure, was optioned for film that one time. When Belinda isn’t writing, she is probably reading one of the many books that she keeps on rotation. She grew up in the Capital District and identifies as a New Yorker, even though she’s spent the last decade living in South Carolina, where she now writes full-time.
