Former model and restaurateur Jenna Rawley has a plan. Marry the man who looks best on paper, and live the secure life she craved as a child. But when her fiancé runs off, with her money, Jenna’s left with nothing but the past she’s spent years outrunning. With no other options, she’s forced to move back home, find a second job, and come face-to-face with a man who has every reason to distrust her.
Firefighter Luke Kearney never forgave Jenna for leaving town after he proposed in high school. So, he’s not especially happy when he’s forced to plan their fifteen-year-reunion with her. Jenna is the last person he can trust. But the more they work together, the more Luke realizes that the girl who broke his heart might have become the woman he could love forever.
Robbie Terman began her journey as a writer in third grade, when she completed her first (24-page) "novel." Many years later, she is published in contemporary romance. Her heroines are feisty, her heroes Hot (yup, that's with a capital H!). And, when you read her books, if you tear up a little and laugh a lot, that's just the reaction she was hoping for.
Robbie lives in Michigan and spend s her time wishing she lived somewhere warmer. When she's not writing, Robbie can often be found shopping for shoes and handbags. She's also a wannabe foodie, who's always looking for a new restaurant to try or a recipe she'll inevitably screw up.
Having waited patiently for a year for the third book in Robbie Terman’s A Perfect Recipe Series, I was so happy to finally get to read Jenna and Luke’s story. You were given a little tease of the potential fireworks that could go off between them in Some Like It Sinful and I couldn’t wait to see how this second-chance love story would play out for them in Some Like it Sizzling.
Jenna has always been the cool self contained girl of the trio and it was no exception in this book. Problem being the author did such a good job of making her an unlikeable snob in the first 60% of the book that by the time she loosened up, I didn’t really care either way anymore. I think what really was the final nail in the coffin of this one was the fact that Luke, albeit in response to Jenna’s behavior and attitude towards him, turned from a sweet, hot, dirty Fireman into a bit of a douche as the story progressed as well. There were glimmers between them, but one or the other would then do something that turned the sweet to sour pretty much every time.
"That hand is lethal…" "Wait til you feel my mouth."
The big secret that Jenna nursed over the 15 years they were apart, and the reasons why she left without telling him… Felt like a total cop out to me if I am honest, I was expecting more, I wanted more, the characters deserved more.
The one thing I did love about this book was the side story between Olivia and Riley, I kind of wish they had had a bigger part in the book. Older woman, younger guy, sexy times…
In fact, I would like them to have had their own book.
I like the authors writing style, the previous books in the series were extremely enjoyable; I just struggled to connect with the characters myself, or feel much of a connection between the two of them for most of the book.

Another chance to dip into this series with a title that aptly fits what often occurs inside. Second chance for two that once knew each other long ago but now they have the opportunity to ignite that passion once again. Jenna hasn't had quite as easy as some may think and most of her decisions up until now have turned into nothing like she thought they would. Now having been duped and left at the alter seems to lead her right into the path of one who rescues her from the drama of it but tries to not get burned from her again. They will though have to work together to plan a event together for their high school reunion that will show them that time can change a grow a person far different then they expect. Delightful reading on what happens between these two as they get to know each other once again with also getting some answers for long ago questions. Stubborn too they both still carry each other in their hearts but admittance is another thing that will not be easy. While she also works to repair the damage the ex fiance has wrought in her life she shows a side to him that Luke will come to find out is the real woman behind the mask. Being the experienced firefighter he is can he handle the fire between the two of them that has grown though is in the reading. It has a ending that will have them throwing the best party that will not soon be forgotten. Received a arc for a honest review.
This reunited lovers romance is the story of Jenna and Luke. High school sweethearts, Jenna took a chance on a modeling career in Europe, leaving friends and family behind. When that didn't work out she eventually came home, found a rich husband to be and thought she knew where her life was going. When her fiancé ditches her and she ends up living with her father, looking for work, she reconnects with Luke. But will she be able to convince him that she no longer needs money to be happy?
This was an interesting read, in part because it's told from three points of view - Jenna, Luke and Luke's ex-wife Olivia. I don't think I've ever read a romance that featured an ex's story alongside the main romance. Truth be told, I actually liked Olivia's character the best. She made smart decisions for her and her son, she was friendly, likeable, competent and protective of her son. There is a side story with her meeting a younger man that I thoroughly enjoyed. Jenna and Luke's story fell a bit flat for me though, mostly because I didn't care for Jenna. She pouted a lot. The love scenes with her and Luke were well written but I didn't feel a lot of chemistry between them, so it was harder to buy into their romance. But Olivia's story made it worth the read for me. 3 stars.

Wow this story was a very good read! This was a read that had everything from laughter to sadness to romance to passion. This was written beautifully and had excellent characters. The best part of this story was that not only did the main character shave their happily ever after but there was also another woman that found love.
Jenna Rawley and Luke Kearney were high school sweethearts but someone horrible happened to her and the night that Luke proposed she ran away the next day. Now here she is running out of the church because her fiancé did not show up for their wedding day. I could not believe what happened to her how her fiancé could have taken everything that they had and ran off. I felt so bad for her but then again she needed to learn that money is not everything there is so much more. I know that you need money to survive but I think Luke showed her that you don’t need a lot to actually have fun. Now here she wants to start again with Luke but he doesn’t trust her and I don’t blame him either. Luke is a great guy but he was so dense. He couldn’t see that he was still in love with Jenna and that is why his marriage didn’t work out but they had this beautiful little boy, Eli. But the more time that they spend together the feelings start growing again between them and the electricity between them is sparking. Just when things are going great between them she does a favor for a friend. *slams head against the wall* You can only imagine she should have said something but instead she doesn’t and things go down from there.
Some Like it Sizzling was a good read. The characters were well written. This was a story that I couldn’t put down. I love when I get lost in a story and this was one of them. I wanted to know if Jenna would find out why she got ditched at her wedding but most of all why she left Luke. She hadn’t spoken to him in fifteen years and actually prohibited her family to say his name. When that was revealed I couldn’t stop laughing because of how the story started she almost slept with him right before her marriage and she didn’t want her family to say his name. Luke was a great father he could have tried a little harder with his marriage but when you are in love with someone else it can’t work with someone else. The chemistry between these two is sizzling HOT.
I totally recommend this read!!!

I loved the first two books in author Robbie Terman’s A Perfect Recipe series and there were aspects of Some Like It Sizzling that I loved but overall this book had too much drama left over from high school to make me love it. I get these two had what could be considered a bad breakup, it is easy to see they still have chemistry together, and I understand that the trust they once had was broken but there was more than one occasion where I wanted to slap one or both characters upside the head and say “snap out of it.” Seriously, it was HIGH SCHOOL…you are suppose to be older and wiser and you should be able to now look at it as an adult and realize that you both still needed to grow up (and if you can’t then perhaps you really shouldn’t be together or you still need to grow up). Jenna Rawley broke Luke Kearney’s heart when she left town the day after their high school graduation and the day after he proposed. Jenna always wanted more out of life and went to Europe to become a model only those plans fell quite short of what she wanted and Luke remained in town to become a firefighter which is all he ever wanted out of life. Jenna’s back and part owner of a now successful restaurant and Luke is a firefighter, paramedic and has an ex-wife and a 5 year old son. The thing is I really liked both of these characters but when they were together for most of the book their sniping, distrust, and pettiness just kind of did me in. To be honest, I was more interested in the side romance going on between Luke’s ex-wife and her young boyfriend than I was with the up and down relationship between Jenna and Luke. Why this book wasn’t a total loss; I loved seeing the couples from the first two books, Luke’s firefighter buddies were some great comic relief, his son and ex-wife were pretty awesome and I loved seeing Jenna realize what was important in life. Yes, I’m glad they finally figured things out but getting there almost gave me a migraine. While far from my favorite book in this series, Some Like It Sizzling had some bright spots which made it not a total loss. Personally, I could have done without so much of the back story drama and would have like to see them appreciate each other for the people they had become.
Some Like It Sizzling was majorly disappointing. The first book is one of my all-time favorites, but this one just completely missed the mark for me. This time we're getting Jenna's story. She's just been jilted at the altar, and her fiance took all of the money, and is being investigated by the FBI. To say Jenna is down on her luck would be an understatement. With nothing to her name, aside from a small personal bank account, Jenna moves back in with her dad and starts taking odd jobs and consigning all of her designer clothes. Meanwhile, she's suppose to be planning her fifteen year high school reunion with her ex, Luke.
I had several major issues with Some Like It Sizzling. The first being what got Jenna into this mess in the first place. Why in the world would you have shared bank accounts and credit cards with someone you are not married or related to?! I mean, I know this could still have happened if they were married, but that's not my point. I really do not think it's a good idea to have no clue about, or any control over, your funds because you entrusted them to someone else. Jenna and Hal were not married, shouldn't she have kept some things in her own name? She also admits to not knowing anything about the comings and goings of the fund, as far as not even realizing their rent hadn't been paid in several months! This makes zero sense to me!
My second issue was just Jenna herself. She annoyed me. She is obsessed with being skinny! She talks about picking at her food so she doesn't gain weight. Her friends and family are constantly pointing out that she's not eating enough, and it wouldn't kill her to gain a little weight. But she takes that as them calling her fat, when she knows she's not even close to being fat. It's like she was fishing for compliments, except that no one is complimenting her because she's being unhealthy. Aside from that, I also couldn't believe that she had no clue that when you're serving someone court papers, the first words out of your mouth should not be "I'm from So-and-So law firm." I think that was suppose to be funny, but it was just stupid. She spent the whole book trying to track that guy down after that.
The fight in Some Like It Sizzling also really did not sit well with me. Of course, Jenna does something to get some extra money to pay off all of these bills that have been piling up. She's on her way to tell Luke about it, since it's not exactly something he'd be happy with, but he finds out before she has a chance. He gets pissed off and claims that she did what she did for other reasons and that she had no intention of telling him. But then he lets her explain, and I thought this wasn't going to turn into some huge stupid thing. Well, it's like he didn't hear a word she said! He's still stuck in his own head with the story he concocted! Even after he talks to a voice of reason who tells him to let her explain (which she already did!!!), he still doesn't accept her explanation. The worst part is is that she apologizes to him! He doesn't apologize to her for being a jerk, but she takes full responsibility for the situation. Are you serious?! She didn't do anything!!!
Some Like It Sizzling wasn't all bad. There is actually a second romance going on. Luke's ex-wife hasn't moved on after their divorce, and she's annoyed at him always trying to set her up on dates. Well, she does find love in the least expected place. I really wish Olivia had gotten her own full book, because I was really enjoying her story. I especially loved her dissertation research! That is something I definitely wanted to read more of!
In the end, Some Like It Sizzling just let me down! I was not feeling the romance between Jenna and Luke, because I didn't like Jenna, but then I didn't like how all of their problems became her fault when it's him who has his head stuck up his butt. I really hated that ending too, since it's my least favorite type of romance ending. You know the ones where one person suddenly and inexplicably has a change of heart on a major decision just to make the other person happy, even though they could have compromised! It just drives me crazy!
I received a copy of this book, from the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. In no way did this sway either my review or my rating!
Second chances at love are some of my favorite types of books to read. There's the connection and spark that's already there. There's usually something at least one of them is bitter about still that ended things to begin with. There's just so many possibilities for tension and romance and passion. While I loved the storyline...I did have one issue with this book.
I adored Jenna's family and all of her friends. I fell hard for Luke, his family was lots of fun, he has the most adorable and inquisitive little boy. I even loved....loved his ex-wife Olivia. Flat out loved her. The one person I couldn't stand unfortunately was Jenna. Had you completely removed her from this book or given her a complete personality overhaul I would have easily gone 4 to 4.5 stars on this one.
Jenna is very vain and materialistic and such a label whore that before 50 pages in there were already 3 name drops and by the end of the book it was closer to 10. I honestly don't know why this bugs me so much but it always seems to. At one point Jenna even makes some sort of mental reference to the fact that she measured financial security by things. Not only that but after high school she was the one who left Luke for partially selfish reasons. She left without a word and sent him a letter from Europe as a kind of oh-by-the-way-I-moved type of thing, it was her choice right? Well when she's back home and she discovers her family like went to his wedding and kept in contact with him she would call them traitors and was honest to goodness pissed off that he was still part of their life. Not that it mattered that both families went way back before they even dated in school to begin with. There are just too many reasons and situations that even when she started making changes toward the end, the damage was already done. Not a Jenna fan sorry.
But on to the better parts of this book. Seriously Luke is as close to perfection as you could get. Besides the fact that he's a firefighter (um, yeah, I'm already sold) he is just a genuinely sweet and wonderful guy. Very family oriented, he's an amazing dad and his son Eli is the center of his world. He has the most healthy and awesome relationship with Olivia, the ex-wife, to the point where for the longest time I was actually hoping a miracle would happen and Jenna would run off again and he'd get back together with Olivia instead.
I haven't read the fist 2 books in the series as of yet but the females are Jenna's best friends who you get to know a tiny bit in this one. They both seemed like so much fun and so I will more than likely be giving them a try. This book really was good it was just one character that I didn't get on with.
And surprise, surprise...without giving anything away there is a second storyline that is going on within this one and with the exception of Luke, I almost wish that there had been more of it since I was far more interested in all the people involved there instead. Don't worry it's not complicated because the stories are meshed together and related. But anyway, final thoughts would be that for the most part I did love this book and if you think a character like Jenna won't bother you than I do recommend it because it had plenty of moments that were heartwarming, heartbreaking, funny and very steamy.
Thanks to Entangled for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!

Some Like It Sizzling is the third book in the Perfect Recipe series by author Robbie Terman. I'm not sure if this is the final book in the series since this will have made all the stories of the three female characters introduced in the first book complete. This one is a bit different than the first two in that it's a second chance romance AND there's a side love story involving the ex-wife of the male lead character.
Jenna Rawley thought she had it all and getting married to her fiancé was just another step in the right direction. That was before she was unceremoniously left at the altar and the bank accounts she shared with her fiancé were either frozen by the FBI or emptied altogether. Now, she's forced to return to the home she left behind to pursue the life she wanted and puts her in constant contact with her ex.
Luke Kearney's heart was irrevocably broken when the girl he had just proposed to left the country without a word fifteen years ago. Since then, his life has gone on--he's a firefighter and has a great son with his ex-wife who also happens to be one of the nicest people around. When he comes across the girl who left him, he refuses to be put in the same position he was in fifteen years before.
The attraction between Jenna and Luke is still very much there but Luke doesn't trust Jenna. She's never fully explained her reasons for leaving him and she's hesitant to discuss them with him, wanting to simply focus on moving forward. But how can these two truly move on, whether as friends or something more, if the past still has a firm hold on both of them, creating a large shadow on their future?
Now, like I mentioned earlier, aside from Jenna and Luke's love story, readers have the love story of Olivia Shaw, Luke's ex-wife, and Riley Brock, star player of the Chicago Brawlers and Griffin Lange's former teammate (Griffin was the lead character in book two). I'll be honest--I actually preferred Olivia and Riley's story to Jenna and Luke's. It felt more real and they were both likable characters.
I admit it--I didn't really like Jenna, though she did grow on me by the end of the book. Her reason for leaving Luke wasn't all that great and the fact that she left without a word remained. There's simply no excuse for that sort of behavior. I truthfully didn't think she deserved to have a second chance to be with Luke but the heart wants what it wants and am glad she proved her love to and for Luke.
I've enjoyed the Perfect Recipe series as a whole and the first two books were ones I fell in love with. While I wasn't a fan of Jenna's, I did, however, love the side story that belonged to Olivia and Riley and am giving Some Like It Sizzling four stars mostly due to them and the book's epilogue. ^.^ The series gets an average rating of 4.5 stars and would recommend it as a whole to fellow bookaholics. ♥
One-Sentence Summary: Former model strings along her childhood sweetheart
Review: Having enjoyed the first two books in this series, I have eagerly awaited the third book in the series for two whole years so I would love to say that I loved the final book in the trilogy as much as the first two but that would be a lie.
This book was, unfortunately, a big disappointment right from the get go. Word of advice: if you have any hope of getting me to like the heroine, do not start the book by having her throw herself at her former boyfriend (who she hasn't seen in over a decade) whilst engaged to another man with no real explanation as to why. And oh yes, her former boyfriend doesn't seem to care that this woman who broke his heart has suddenly appeared and wants to get naked with him (despite the fact she is going to marry someone else) and is willing to throw all that heartbreak and resentment away for a quick lay.
Then there was the wedding that wasn't to be .... and mere hours from about to commit her life to another man, Jenna is throwing herself at Luke again.
Throw in a kid, an ex-wife, a job as a process server, a mugging, Jenna joining a TV dating show and not finding mere seconds to talk to Luke about why she is doing it (or at least leave him a voicemail!), a historic miscarriage (yeah, totally didn't see that coming ...), a life/death situation part 1, a marriage proposal, a life/death situation part 2 ....... you have the basic plot. It was like the author didn't know how to make the book interesting and engaging through the characters so she decided to throw the 101 Romantic Story Tropes book at it.
There was something to like in this book though: the secondary romance in Olivia/Riley. I only wish we got to explore that more.
Overall Some Like It Sizzling was an enjoyable read. I love second chance romances or love stories about old high school sweethearts finding each other again, so I thought this book would be something I would really enjoy. However, whilst I will say that it was a quick, easy read that was nice to relax and pass the time with, it did have its issues for me.
Some Like It Sizzling is told in a few POV and it also had the unusual quality of the ex being one of them. I liked the switch in POV and how it gave a good insight into every character. I also liked that Olivia's story ran alongside Luke and Jenna's. I think the way the author tied them together worked and the emotions in these section were believable. Olivia was a very grounded character and was selfless. I really liked her and how she put others before herself and had a level head. For a minor character she was very well rounded and I actually liked her more than the main characters--I wish she'd been in the book more.
With regards to the main characters, my first impressions were not good. I can't find another way to put it so I'll just say Jenna was a snob and I hated her. Of course, she has her reasons for wanting money and designer brands but because they are revealed in the last few chapters, I spent most of the book disliking her for her values. Similarly, I didn't really connect with Luke. He felt a bit flat to me and didn't have much of a personality. I really expected a lot more chemistry between the two, but it never seemed to kick off. I thought this would be a hot read because of the title, but I just couldn't buy the romance between Luke and Jenna. Because of this, the story did feel liked it dragged at times.
Overall, this is a sweet read but it didn't hold my attention as well as I thought it would. The romance wasn't that great, but it was easy and enjoyable. It's not the best romance I've read, but I wouldn't not recommend it.
Jenna is a former model and now owns one third of a restaurant where she works with her two best friends and partners. She has a life plan which includes marrying the man she's been dating for three years to secure the monied life she really wanted to achieve since her early teens. Then she bumps into her ex-high school sweetheart, firefighter Luke Kearney and he's still hot and the chemistry is still there between them - but so is the past and some bad memories! Fifteen years ago, after Luke proposed at their graduation, Jenna disappeared off to Europe without explanation to him or her friends, embarking on a modelling career. Luke never really got over this, although he did marry and have a child (Eli) with his now ex-wife, Olivia. Luke is devastated to learn Jenna is getting married - and very distracted by the news.
Things for Jenna, however do not go to plan! The groom fails to turn up at the wedding, she has no idea where he's gone but it turns out he's running from the FBI and all of Jenna's joint bank accounts are frozen, necessitating her returning to live with her Dad, back in the home, area and the past she was so desperate to escape from! Not only that, but as the Prom King and Queen from fifteen years ago, Luke and Jenna are expected to work together to plan the High School Reunion celebrations. Will they be able to work together? Will this rekindle their love or be a wet blanket, putting it out forever? What about Olivia? Can she also put the past behind her and let love into her heart and life?
This is an enjoyable romance, where overcoming past experiences is the only way both couples will be able to move forward. The secrets from their pasts are slowly revealed as the story progresses and I particularly enjoyed the romance between Olivia and Riley - great to see the ex-wife also finding true love!
Thanks to the author and publishers, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for this, an honest review.

This is my first chance reading a book in the Perfect Recipe series. ‘Some Like it Sizzling” is book 3 and it is Jenna & Luke’s story.
Jenna left town after Luke proposed to her 15 years ago. There were reasons why she did , to which she never shared with Luke. When this story starts, she has been left at the alter by her fiancé who then ran off with most of, if not all of her money. Due to that, Jenna is forced to move back home, get another job and face Luke. Since Jenna moved back home, Firefighter Luke has had to see his x gf, people have had them interact and now, they have to plan their High School’s fifteen-year-reunion together. Things like this can drive a man to drink, if not drive him mad. Luke wonders in the back of his head what if- what if he had not gone on and married another woman, had a child with her and then gotten divorced.. the what if game. He never stopped loving Jenna. Jenna found out Luke moved on without her and married Olivia and they had a son then ended up getting divorced. Jenna was heartbroken but knew if she had stayed, then she would have had Luke’s child, if not children by now. Olivia , Luke’s ex wife at times came across as a Mama Bear. She was very protective of her son but also of Luke. I wanted to smack her some because she was not helping matters but she then learned to really see Jenna and that is when Jenna had someone on her side.
While reading this story, I had to grab the tissue box, for I could feel the heroine’s pain. This was a roller-coaster of emotions throughout this story. All I have to say is, second chance love stories are the best. There are some twists and turns so when you least expect them, they will be there. Great Writing and Great Emotional Range in this story!!
Some Like It Sizzling (A Perfect Recipe #3) by Robbie Terman, is a terrific novel. I read the first two books in the series and this one is a little less foodie, yet sizzling with a blast from the past for the two main characters. Each book centers around one of three very best friends who co-own a restaurant together, and ex-model turned restaurateur, Jenna Rawley, is in the hot seat. The prologue opens the book with an exciting scene that introduces the hero and heroine to the reader, while simultaneously detonating the sexual tension that still exists between them.
Jenna and firefighter Luke Kearney were high school sweethearts and madly in love many moons ago. Luke was beyond devastated, when Jenna secretly left town a day after they both graduated high school to pursue a modeling career in Europe. However, she had legitimate reasons for her disappearance act. Now years later, they are forced together to plan their fifteen year high school reunion. They have no choice but to get to know each other once again, air their dirty laundry and acknowledge that their feelings for each other remain alive and well. In fact, they can't seem to keep their hands off of each other.
This is a well-written, second chance romance. Ms. Terman creates wonderful, realistic characters that are both interesting and engaging. At times, my heart actually ached for Jenna and Luke as they felt the need to hurt each other due to their lack of communication. This is a good book and the entire Perfect Recipe series should definitely be added to your TBR list.

It's really odd for me to give this book just 3 stars, but I have my reasons. For one, the secondary story of our hero's ex-wife stole the show LOL In my opinion, it stole a lot interest away from our H/, Luke and Jenna. Don't get me wrong, it WAS a great read and it turned into me adding two more books to my TBR! So Jenna and Luke have a history from WAY back .... Jenna leaves to take a chance at modeling and when that failed and she returned to the States, she didn't come to Luke ... nope, she lands herself a rich guy and thinks all is well in the world when BAM ... he leaves her at the altar. So NOW she has no choice but to come to daddy until she can get her life in order ... Cue ... reuniting with Luke. Honestly, I wasnt in Jenna's corner the entire book lol, but I wanted Luke to be happy (double edged sword right there lol) and he wanted her so .... Now Luke wasn't sitting around waiting on Jenna for fifteen years ... he did marry and have a child ... cue the secondary story that stole the show for me :) BUT, he was all over getting reacquainted with Jenna once again because the spark sizzle they had as teenagers was still there! But they have A LOT of hurt and resentment and closure from the past to get thru in order for a HEA! Can they do it? Can Jenna convince Luke that money and status in society isn't what she needs for happiness, just him? Can Luke get over her betrayal? Will all the lies and secrets and even truths coming to light, save them or destroy them? LOTS of twisty turns going on in this story ... it's kinda what keeps you glued to reading page after page!

Thanks for not text-copy protected the review copy. It made easier to include a quote for the review purpose.
The prologue.. when it showed us the promise of good and sexy scenes in the future chapters, i felt this is too bold. I dont know one a bit, then baaaam smut scenes.
The fire alarm moves is brilliant! I whimpered reading that. Two birds one stone act. Also the CPR training.
Awww.. i dont know. Recently i read too many books about second encounter where one of the MC has a child that surprises the hell out of the other MC. Getting bored of this theme.
Nice moves to make Hal not unfaithful to Jenna. So who Jenna choose in the end does not drive by the next best thing choice, but because she really is a different person now. Changing for good.

It was obvious from the first book in this series that Jenna should not be with Hal. He seemed like a dude and she was so awesome. So when he leaves her at the altar in this book I cheered. She totally deserved better. Of course it also sucked that he took all her money and left her being watched by the FBI, but reuniting with her high school sweetheart was worth all the trouble she went through with Hal. Luke is sexy, sweet and although he has every right to be mad at Jenna, even after 15 years apart, he is there for her when she needs someone. And the chemistry, straight out of the gate, is combustible. There is definitely unfinished business between them.
I love second chance romances and this one was a doozy. I really enjoyed watching Jenna and Luke fall for each other again. I loved seeing what happened to each of them while they were apart. I won’t spoil anything, but I really appreciated the way things worked out in that aspect.
This book was sexy and sweet. It was scorching hot. I loved getting to see the couples from the previous books. Some how I missed Some Like it Sinful, so I hope to get a chance to read that soon. I noticed that there are no more recent books under Robbie Terman’s Goodreads account and her author website no longer exists. I hope that means she hasn’t stopped writing because I really enjoyed her writing style and would love to read more by her in the future.

This is the first book in the series that I have read and I can't wait to get my hands on the other two to find out their stories. It was fun to read and sort of a mystery to discover exactly why Jenna left in the first place and without a word to Luke.
Luke is a firefighter he's known all along he's always loved Jenna and being a firefighter. So when she left destroying his heart. He did the best he could and moved on trying to make himself happy.
Jenna had her issues and needed to go. Now after a failed attempt at marriage and losing everything again, she's back home and trying to find a way out of her current mess.
When the two are together it's hot and electric. From the sexual chemistry to fighting. It's hard to keep apart and there are times where it just doesn't happen. Will the lies, secrets, and truths tear them apart for good or can they finally get over the past that has haunted them both for 15 years?
This book was good, and so close "great," had it not been for the fact that by the end of it I was more attached to the B story/romance of Olivia and Riley than Jenna and Luke, especially because I was literally counting DOWN the days until this book came out. In the previous book (Some Like It Sinful) Jenna and Luke's chemistry was evident, but with the mixing of the two plots (the subplot romance) it almost took away from it. Also Jenna was ridiculously frustrating at times. my heart goes out to Luke, because he truly does love Jenna, but her love for him was not very evident and seemed to magically appear near the end. I am assuming that this is the end to the series, although that's too bad because I would have LOVED a separate book of Olivia and Riley. Also Eli is the most adorable 5-year old character ever. Fingers crossed that there will be an Olivia/Riley book somewhere down the road.
Fifteen years have passed without Luke seeing Jenna or having an explanation why she just up and left him. Now when she's about to get married she runs into him and finds out she hasn't left him behind as she has hoped. Sizzling is definitely a word a would use to describe the heat chemistry that has not faded between these two characters. Luke, a hard working fireman who could light a fire of his own with just a look is a very endearing character. Because of this fact I found myself wanted to slap Jenna silly. She is a very materialistic, self absorbed character (no matter her reasons). Yes, things change and slowly we understand he fears yet I still found myself holding just a bit of a grudge. The story is moves at a great pace and had me reading long into the night. Some of the secondary characters could have their own stories with their personalities. No matter this book is a keeper.
There are a lot of second chance books out there and it’s a type of book I really enjoy reading. During this book I was able to see both main characters Luke and Jenna grown and change, and that is something I love seeing. I also loved Luke! Well, I loved him until he turned into a jerk toward the end! I’m not really sure how I felt about Jenna, she was very frustrating and I just wanted her to explain why she left all those years ago. I had my suspicions and I ended being half correct! It was very interesting to have Luke’s wife’s POV while reading the story, not sure it was to set up the next book in the series or just to get more perspective on Luke. It did allow me to realize how much Luke loved Jenna, even if he didn’t see it himself. Olivia was a very likeable character but having her point of view showed how she wasn’t really there to break anyone up.
Jenna takes off the day after graduation, and they day after her high school sweetheart proposes to her. Now she is back in her hometown and was left at the alter by her boyfriend. She turns to the one person she shouldn't. Especially when she has the true reason why she left town a complete secret.
Luke has never gotten over Jenna Rawley. Even through a marriage and a child. Jenna comes back into his live, but can he trust that Jenna won't get scared and run off again like she did to him years ago and broke his heart.
Loved this book. I just wanted to know what the big secret was! Great job by the writer. Will look forward to more from her.
I was provided a copy of this book for my honest review.
This is the story of Luke, a divorced firefighter and Jenna, his high school love, who is about to marry another man. Luke and Jenna have a rich history, a lot of secrets, and many fun friends and family. At the beginning of the book, Jenna's life blows up and she is left penniless, unmarried, and living with her parents. She and Luke start to hook up and eventually work out trust issues. We also meet Olivia, Luke's ex, and she is treated to her own romance with a hot younger hockey player.
I agree with other reviews, the leading couple were hard to connect with. I really enjoyed the romance of Olivia and the cast of friends and family from other books. Overall it was a good read, but not outstanding.
I love the second chance at love themes, the wondering about what could have been. This story was very realistic to me without the easy and fast reconciliation. Very believable. I enjoyed the chemistry between Luke and Jenna. They both had their demons to face and get past and in the same instance they could not stay away from each other. I loved their denial, loved their friends who kept them in check. Although it was a happy ending, I would have liked a little more for them, a little more with Eli.
The bonus with this book was the story for Olivia. I liked her, a strong woman who would not settle, and who also was great support for Jenna and Luke. I am glad she was a major part of this book too.

Luke isn't all that shy, "do you maybe want to put on some pants? Or at least pick up your towel?" Luke looked down and saw the white terrycloth that had been around his waist a few minutes ago had come off in the kerfuffle." Luke is still a tad bit immature, "if you want to feel better, then come back over here." He patted his lap. "I've learned a few things since high school." He's protective, "he stared at the bruise forming on your cheek and got overtaken by Pi**ed Gy. Dammit, Rawley, do you have any idea where you were?" I really loved Luke he was a fireman well he's the chief fireman the head honcho and a fireman always winds my heart.
High school sweethearts, Jenna and Luke were perfect. Luke proposed Jenna and the next morning Jenna was gone. Fast forward fifteen years and Jenna returns home. Luke is now divorced and is a fireman. There is a sizzling attraction between these two but is it enough.
I really enjoyed the chemistry between these two. An easy flowing read that you do not want to put down. This is part of a series, which I have not read the two previous book but was easy to follow. This is a new author for me, and I just bought her other books in this series. I received this book from the publisher for an honest review.
After her wedding day turns into a disaster Jenna ends up planning a high school reunion event with her ex from ages ago. Turns out that Luke still had feelings for her after all this time even though she left him broken hearted before. Spending so much time together brings back those feelings for both of them, but there are still secrets buried that need to see the light if any future is possible. I really do love second chance love stories and I enjoyed theirs.
Note: I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I didn't realize at first that there were already two books in the series when I had requested this one. Even though I had no backstory, I had no problem whatsoever following along while reading it. In fact, after reading "Some Like It Sizzling", I can't wait to read the previous two stories to find out what happened in the past to make Luke and Jenna who they are! This book only served to whet my appetite for more from this author. I'll be heading over to Amazon shortly to get the others.
