What I've learned from this book is you can pretty much throw any fresh produce into a blender and make it into a healthy smoothie. If you're the type of person who follows recipes to the word, there are plenty in here to help you get started on your smoothie journey. Personally, I just needed a guide to expand my view of ingredients suitable for a smoothie and this book certainly helped me to do just that.
I've had a smoothie maker for christmas and I hunted through my free kindle cookbooks and I have 3 books on making smoothies, but one of which has 480 something pages and is a boxset, so I've took a look at the other two, one of which is this!
This one is the better book as it gives you a lot of information. Smoothies can help you lose weight and also make you put it on if you need to, they can help with reducing your caffeine consumption (well they would if you are drinking smoothies instead of coffee), keeps your body hydrated (hmm, any drink could do that), helps to break down fibre in your diet so helps diabetics, boosts immune systems because of all the antioxidants found in some of the fruits and helps you to have a glowing and radiant skin!! It also lists all the properties of the ingredients used which is helpful and useful.
One to keep on the kindle I think, although I haven't been that keen now I'm using a smoothie maker as it's such a fiddle to go through to make just one smoothie and clean the thing, am now wondering if just water and ready made juices aren't much simpler! Just don't tell my mother who bought it for me.
I was able to find quick, easy, and delicious smoothie ideas. There were nutrition insights which were very helpful with some recipes. Nice go to book for smoothies.
This book had lots of smoothie recipies great for beginners l recommend it .Plenty to choose from .Plus it also advises to adjust to your own tastes ..
This is the book I was waiting for. This short book was totally amazing and enjoyable and has the best array of smoothies for health-minded individuals.
I read this book from beginning to end and I enjoyed every recipe except for the few that contained watermelon (yuck). The beginning of the book is very informative and I will purchase a print copy to put on my shelf.
The book itself is very simply laid out with a multitude of green and fruit smoothies to choose from with very simple recipies and easily accessible ingredients. Although I have only choosen a few recipies to date that I really enjoy, there are a great many to choose from.
The beginning of the book provides a wealth of information pertaining to the various liquids that can be used as the base of the smoothie as well as the various intended applications of both vegetables and fruit. There is also a comprehensive list of suitable substitutes (as well as taste enhancers) for those of us with food allergies or finicky taste buds.
Finally, there are a few warnings as to how to approach a drastic change of diet as well as links to reports for food warnings and unhealthy foods.
I truly believe that this is a very practical and useful book in my journey to better health. I believe it could be the same for anyone who chooses to delve into it.
