Erica Vetsch is a tease. How dare she write this incredibly wonderful, fascinating, tense, and powerful book and then leave me hanging? Ugh!

This book picks up pretty much where Book 1 ended. Sir Bertrand Thorndike has been elected to a position in the House of Commons. Bertie (as he's called) isn't into politics, but he needs to investigate some odd things that are happening. People take notice of him because of how quickly he went from not having any sort of political interest to being elected, and also because his brother is a member of Parliament. This gets him inducted and installed into the Theban Club. Bertie finds the whole place distasteful; it's this really weird Egyptian theme, so I get it.

Philippa Chashel is making an impact at the Eleos School, which is supported by Princess Charlotte. Philippa's friend, who everyone calls Aunt Dolly, helps run the school. One day, Philippa accidentally opens a piece of mail that she didn’t realize was addressed to Aunt Dolly and finds out that she's being blackmailed. Do the troubles ever end? Nope.

Bertie finds out that there are some vulnerable women he needs to rescue and who would be best at Eleos. That is the Elios mission after all. I must warn that if you are sensitive to abuse, this may not be the best book for you.

I can't say enough good things about this book. I fell asleep reading it on a Saturday night because I'd hoped to stay up and finish. On Sunday, it was time to go to church, and I was telling my husband, "Noooo! I just got to a good spot!" But Philippa wouldn't miss church, so neither should I. Sigh. Speaking of church, both Bertie and Philippa had situations that made them question whether it is ever right to do the wrong thing. There was a lot of discussion on praying about the issues and being patient to allow God to answer. Good, solid biblical advice. Another strong theme throughout is the forgiveness of self and others.

And let's not forget the super slow-burning romance between Bertie and Philippa. Are they ever going to get there? Oh my goodness, I hope so. The unconscious clasping of hands, the constant seeking each other out, it's all so much. And why does Philippa in particular keep questioning what it means that she now seeks Bertie out when she needs an opinion about anything? No, girlfriend, that is not just a working relationship! It is all so, so good.

Please note that this book is the second in a series. You will need to read Book One to understand what is happening fully and to get the most from this book. But if you enjoy historical romance filled with mystery, danger, and faith at its core, this series is one you don’t want to miss.

I received this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own

Book Review: Non-Spoiler! 🥰
A Scheming in Parliament
Overall rating 4.5/5 stars Enjoyed!
As this series continues, it always amazes me how Vetsch can keep all of her story world orderly and realistic, but she does it again and again. Of the two books in the spin-off "Of Cloaks and Daggers" A Scheming in Parliament may be my favorite, it had so many mystery elements to unfold, and many answers were not found until literally the final few chapters, which always keeps one flipping the pages. The faith content is always well done, realistic, and proper for the time. Philippa remains stubborn and brave as ever, but Mr Bertrand may just have a chance yet. The last page of the book made me smile. I am SO looking forward to book 3 "An Accusing at The Old Bailey" when it releases though probably next year I imagine, oh the waiting for a series finale, so hard isn't it?!
The political aspects really hit close to home and felt like something one would read in today's papers. Seems not much has changed throughout history.
CW: Much talk of prostitution in the form of those in rehab for such, a break up of basically a s*x traffic ring among elites, mentions of drug abuse, mentions of s*xual abuse, mentions of murder in self defense. Vetsch always handles all of these CW well, never in large detail, and keeps things properly worded for the time.

I loved this second book in Erica Vetsch's series Of Cloaks & Daggers! I listened to the audiobook of the first book and was completely intrigued by the premise and the characters. I loved the good they were trying to bring about and the help and healing, especially Miss Philippa Cashel! Her life circumstances weren't of her choosing and she was able to change them and is on a mission to help grant that change to others in similar situations as she was in! And not only is she bringing peace and healing to others' lives, but she's also been recruited to help Sir Bertrand Thorndike! I loved the dynamics between these two in the first book, and loved them together even more in this second book!

Lots of mystery and some suspense as Bertie (Sir Bertrand) finds himself navigating the halls of Parliament and playing a very dangerous game of cunning and false allies, all for votes to put forward someone's designs for the country. Time is running out as he must quickly discover who are truly his friends and who are foes! The title is very appropriate for this book!

I loved being able to dive into this one and gain one clue after another in hopes of rooting out the villains for myself. I was somewhat successful! Will you be successful in your endeavors to guess who it is in time?

Be warned, there's a bit of a cliffhanger as the author sets us up for another great book about Bertie and Philippa!!! I'm excited! The chemistry and romance between these two was wonderful! I love them together!

Content: Clean. The book does deal with spies and mild moments of peril. It also talks about kept women and trying to rescue them and help them. But it is all done without any details. Well written. This is also a Christian fiction novel and the characters think about and pray to God and talk about Him guiding them and helping them in their lives and bringing about healing.

I received a copy from JustRead Tours. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

Wow! More than 5 stars for this book! The story is amazing; filled with suspense, intrigue, and a sweet love story! Each page delighted and surprised me.

The cast of characters is extraordinary! I found myself deeply invested in their lives. Philippa is incredible! Instead of letting her past dictate her life, she works at a mission for women escaping from a life of abuse. She's compassionate, loyal, and trustworthy. Sir Bertrand- 😍! He's smart, dedicated to his beliefs, and a protector.

Some difficult issues are brought up in the book. Prostitution, sexually transmitted diseases, kidnapping, and drug abuse. Sadly these issues are relevant today. One huge takeaway for me is to fight for what's right. Be a voice for those who can't speak.

I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from Kregel Publications. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Erica Vetsch has done it again. I am absolutely loving following Sir Bertrand's story. He was such a fun character in the Thorndike & Swann series, and he continues to be wonderful in this series too. I sure wish I could know him in real life.

There were a few mysteries in this book, which kept things interesting. The Eleos school has my heart, and I am fascinated by the work they're doing.

You do have to suspend disbelief a few times in this one, but it sure makes for some exciting reading!

If you enjoy mystery, corruption in the government, and women who are battling their way back from horrendous situations, pick this one up. Then come back and tell me how much you love ol' Bertie!

Also, I had NEVER been moved by a sermon in a book, but I have now.

4 stars because I don't like suspending that disbelief *quite* as much as I needed to in this one.

I love the Haverly universe as penned by Erica Vetsch. Bertie and Phillipa make an engaging couple as they are paired by Marcus for a new adventure in spying which could be a little matchmaking too!
Phillipa has a tender heart for the misused women trying to leave a life of sin. Since establishing Eleos, the refuge that equips ladies and finds them respectable vocations, Phillipa is busy fundraising and furnishing the estate. “The past is the past, and that is where it belongs. You are not defined by what you once were, but who you are now in Christ.”
Sir Bertrand Thorndike is the perfect gentleman and gains a seat in the House of Commons in order to ferret out corruption. He falls right into a seedy situation that someone powerful is behind the scenes pulling the strings.
Lots of intrigue, a little romance, and some mischievous animals round out a perfect story.
The political attitudes of the era were surprisingly similar to what we see today. Showing that some things stay the same.
A favorite character was the new vicar of Eleos. Mr. Hewitt was a humble man who showed repentance and gave back to others by not only preaching a good sermon but worked hard to help renovate the grounds and buildings. He treated all with respect and gave grace.
If you love Regency tales, this book is not to be missed.

This excellent story, wonderful characters, and captivating plot kept me turning pages into the wee hours of the morning. A delightful regency caper that will leave you satisfied, yet impatient for the next story in this series.

I love the premise of the story where Sir Bertrand Thorndike is tasked with investigating Parliament from the inside. His spy work combined with a respectable career help him ferret out corruption and evil doing. And I love reading about Miss Philippa Cashel's mission, the Princess Charlotte Eleos School for Women in Need where the students are learning skills to help them earn their livings in honorable ways. She is asked by her brother-in-law Marcus to be a part time team member on Sir Bertrand's new detective team and she is delighted to be a part of this exciting adventure.

“I haven’t properly thanked you for saving my life. You were uncommonly stupid, sneaking back into that house, and I should be furious, but instead I am grateful.”

I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this story and highly recommend A Scheming in Parliament by Author Erica Vetsch. I am left wanting to read the next book in this captivating series ASAP.

A Scheming in Parliament is a wonderfully exciting regency romance with lots of delectable political intrigue.

I LOVED getting to reunite with Philippa and Bertie in this book! Philippa is even more dedicated than ever to helping women regain their feet after escaping a life of abuse. I love her ingenuity and dedication to her work. I also love watching how she is slowly overcoming her own pain from her past.

Bertie is another great character. He is intelligent, resourceful, protective, and eager to help those in need. I love how he always puts the needs of others above his own. It is so sweet how protective he is of Philippa throughout the book.

The political intrigue in the book was done so well!!! I loved watching as Philippa and Bertie worked to uncover the corruption of some high ranking members of parliament. I also loved how it showed the importance of standing up for what's right no matter what.

This book is definitely one that cannot be read as a standalone. It took me a little while of reading the story to remember all of the important particulars of the first book. And just to note, I somehow managed to like this book even better than the first one!!!

If you love regency romances chock full of political intrigue, you will ADORE the second installment in Erica Vetsch's Of Cloaks and Daggers series, A Scheming in Parliament.

A Scheming in Parliament, the second book in the Of Cloaks and Daggers series, is an exciting, touching Regency read! It was a pleasure to once again immerse myself in the mystery and intrigue of the Haverly Universe where some of my favorite fictional characters reside. Bertie and Philippa have been two of my very favorites since they were first introduced. I loved seeing their romantic relationship continue to blossom and can't wait to see what the future has in store for them. The fast-paced, action-filled storyline kept me turning pages quickly while guessing and anticipating the outcome. I greatly value the inspiring faith thread incorporated naturally into the story and the way the vividly portrayed characters actively lived it out in their daily lives. The expertly drawn Regency Era London setting adds historical richness and authenticity to the story. This engaging, page-turner is now on my Favorite Reads of the Year list, and I highly recommend it.

Erica Vetsch returns returns with her second Of Cloaks and Daggers series book A Scheming in Parliament which is sure to have readers on the edge of their seats with all of the intrigue! I was very impressed with this novel! Parliament is in session which means there is lots of work to get done to better the good of England. However, sometimes there is a lot more that goes on behind the scenes that people don't know about and sometimes the stuff that goes on isn't exactly friendly. However, two kind souls will rise above to make a difference to some of the less fortunate.

Sir Bertrand Thorndike has been tasked with getting down to source of evil in the roots of Parliament. His mission must be kept secret in order not to danger himself and so he can enter the famous Theban Club. Meanwhile Philippa Cashel who has felt like an outsider for most of her life wants to make a difference in helping the fallen women of London. However, things get more complicated when her friend starts getting blackmail for her past reputation.

Eventually Bertrand and Philippa find their cases interlocked and must be aside their differences in order to work together. Will their kind hearts and desire to do what is right offer them recognition or will the riches of Parliament overlook the governments judgement. You will not want to miss out on this book!

This second book in the Of Cloaks & Daggers series has a wonderful message about grace and second chances. I admired Phillipa’s strength in turning her painful past into a ministry that helps other women, and I really liked how Sir Bertrand helped with the issues they had, went undercover. The themes of faith and redemption were heartfelt and gave the story depth. Still, I found the pacing a little slow and didn’t feel as connected to the romance as I wanted to. While it wasn’t a favorite for me, I think readers who enjoy a clean, closed-door Christian historical fiction will find much to appreciate in this story!

I received an ARC of this book. I can’t get enough of Sir Bertrand and Philippa’s story! The suspense and intrigue that Erica Vetsch adds to her stories keeps you glued to the book, and not want to out it down. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the continuation from the first book in the series. I like the redeeming tone through out the book of God being the one to forgive any and all of our sins, no matter what our past holds. And only He can turn things around for His good. I can’t wait to see what Bertie and Philippa have in their future!

My copy came two weeks early! I devoured it the day it came. It was excellent! My biggest regret is that the next book isn’t out yet! I loved this book and I cannot wait to read the next one! I’ve enjoyed seeing the familiar characters from previous series by this author. You don’t need to read those series first, but you do need to read the first of this series before this one. It will make way more sense then.

“I haven’t properly thanked you for saving my life. You were uncommonly stupid, sneaking back into that house, and I should be furious, but instead I am grateful.”

Confession time! I LOVE books where the main character is a spy. So, it was no surprise that I adored this book. It has mystery, suspense, spy work, a little danger, and maybe the budding of a beautiful romance? I loved the faith themes throughout. And both main characters battle with the question, “Is it ever right to do the wrong thing?” which I thought was handled very well.

Sir Bertrand “Bertie”, I don’t know what to say, I love him! He grabbed my attention in the Thorndike & Swann series and I just keep growing more fond of him! He’s brilliant, kind, charismatic, witty, and humble. I loved seeing Bertie head his own team and his battles with his insecurities in that regard. But more than anything his faith and his support and tender care of Philippa gripped my heart. Philippa is strong, intelligent, and extremely caring. I loved seeing her running the Eleos School. She stands her ground and supports those she loves. Philippa faces some surprises and handles them with grace. I enjoyed her growing faith and her trust and confidence in Bertie. I cannot wait for the next part of Bertie and Philippa’s story!

This is book 2 of the Of Cloaks & Daggers series and would best be enjoyed after reading book 1. I highly recommend all the books in the “Haverly Universe”!

A few more quotes:
“Left to ourselves, we are a decrepit shell with no power to change our circumstances. But when God comes into our lives, He begins rebuilding us, repairing the broken places, restoring what time and sin have ravaged, giving us new purpose, new strength.”

“The past is the past, and that is where it belongs. You are not defined by what you once were, but who you are now in Christ.”

Evil masquerades in halls of power, yet even there the light of Christ cannot be hidden. These pages carried me into a world of corruption, blackmail, and whispered schemes. What I will remember most? The steady, breathtaking, whispered drumbeat of redemption!

The words of one character echo the Gospel with a clarity that pierced my heart: “No one, not even me, is beyond redemption because my salvation did not rest in anything I could do. It rested solely in what Jesus had done for me.” That truth is a radiant anchor of this book and for every life transformed by Jesus.

I walked with Philippa as forgiveness became freedom, with Bertie as wordless prayers rose to the God who already knew, with Aunt Dolly as she persisted in prayer, and with the Eleos mission where women were offered dignity and new life in Christ. Thread by thread, the tapestry was clear: God redeems, God restores, God renews.

This story names the darkness of human trafficking, political corruption, and abuse, but every mention is set against the unshakable mercy of God. And in those moments, I felt it again: the assurance that redemption is real, freely given, and powerful enough to reach the deepest wounds, the darkest corners, and the most desperate souls.

This masterfully told story is a captivating, adventurous glimpse of how God works in every situation, in every life. His light shines through the darkness. His light pierces the shadows. His glory shines with brilliance beyond compare.

For readers who long for faith-filled stories where hope rises through the heaviest shadows, this five+star novel is filled with unchangeable truths powerfully, emotionally, through espionage and heartfelt situations spoken straight to the heart.

What a great 2nd book!

I liked book 1, but I REALLY enjoyed book 2. Bertie’s adventure into parliament was definitely intriguing! I also loved how he and Phillipa’s friendship is growing into something deeper and they don’t even really realize it!

But my favorite part of this story was the spiritual depth. I don’t remember there being so much from her previous books. I know it was there but this book was just so uplifting inspite of dealing with some heavy topics. A few themes I noted were the power of the Gospel, redemption, Biblical forgiveness, and having character.

Readers, be aware, that like the previous book in this series, A Scheming in Parliament has a lot to do with former prostitutes. However, the author writes it very discreetly with minimal to no detail. (There’s also some references to sex trafficking in this particular story.)

If you enjoy suspense, regency, and deep faith moments, you’ll definitely want to read this book and its predecessors🥰. Now I have to (not so)patiently wait for the final book!

Note: This is part of a series (and fun to read like that), but it’s written where you COULD read it as a stand alone.

Content: prostitution, sex trafficking

A Scheming in Parliament by Erica Vetsch continues a riveting, romantic, and faith-filled series of mystery and intrigue in Regency England. I love seeing Bertie and Philippa fall for each other and can’t wait to see their happily ever after in book 3! Filled with the truth of salvation, redemption, and sanctification through Jesus Christ, we see characters battle to leave their past and look towards a future in Christ. Meanwhile, Satan fights and claws for the souls of those from high society to the poorest slums of Regency England, but Bertie and Philippa fight together for justice through faith in Christ. This second installment of the Of Cloaks and Daggers series consists of a compelling story with slow burn romance that—according to that last chapter—will be very interesting in book 3 (no spoilers but if you know you know!), and I highly recommend this book and series!

I received a copy from the author and publisher for review purposes. I loved it!

Erica Vetsch does it again! Capturing the reader from the first pages with a daring plot to unravel a mystery in Parliament, we encounter Pippa and Bertie overcome unexpected challenges along the way, along with the help of some old friends of the Haverly Universe. This book is one you won't want to put down! She tackles the age old questions of "Is It ever right to do the wrong thing? with a thought provoking storyline, along with the reminder that no matter the world's view of your sin, you are still redeemed by grace. This was exactly the second book I was hoping for in Bertrand and Philippa’s story as part of the Of Cloaks and Dagger series. Now I have to be patient and wait for the final book in this exciting series!

I am thankful for Erica Vetsch and Kregel for allowing the me the opportunity to be an advance reader of this book.

"...forgiveness in humans was not finished upon the act of forgiving. It was a continual undertaking."

Bertie and Philippa are absolute jewels! I loved getting to know them through the first book in the series and now I'm ever more enchanted. Bertie's insecurities as an elected member of the House of Commons showed his vulnerable side and Philippa's insecurities at the newly established Eleos school showed her tender heart and heavy responsibilities she bore. How they unwittingly supported each other to bolster confidence in the midst their insecurities was delightful and charming. Their shared mission for the Agency solidified their friendship and every interaction brought a smile to this reader. I enjoyed the mystery that Bertie ended up unraveling in Parliament and, of course, seeing Marcus and Charlotte again was icing on the cake. And the ending! The next book promises to be an amazing one.

This is the second book in the “Of Cloaks and Daggers” series. It can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the first one beforehand. Bertie and Philippa are back. I love these characters so much. In this book Bertie is part of the House of Commons and is adjusting to his new role as well as investigating another member. Philippa is running Eleos and working with Bertie. She is also helping Bertie furnish his house. This is a great story! Very well written. I will say that this story may be a little too dark for certain readers with the crime that is being committed. Check out more in the content section for that. I loved Bertie and Philippa. They work really well together and I like that they are starting to have some romantic interest towards one another. The crime was just horrific and so sad. I’m glad the villain was caught. I also liked seeing Marcus and Charlotte again. The added character of the handsome Mr Hewitt making Bertie jealous was fun. There is also great Christian content throughout. Overall a great story!

I love when Christian authors right about really tough things, but bring them into the light of grace and redemption, and that’s what Erica Vetsch has done through this series.

Sir Bertrand Thorndike has just won a position in the House of Commons, and he’s working to sniff out the evildoers in Parliament—something fishy is indeed going on. Several politicians take him under their wing, however, he’s left wondering who can be trusted, and who’s out to harm him and those he loves.

Phillippa Cashel runs a school for Women in Need—women coming from a past, as she did, of prostitution. The girls are welcomed into a home, trained in other jobs, and provided positions elsewhere once they’re ready. What was truly excellent here was both Phillippa’s passion for these women, and the many times it was emphasized that no sin is greater than another, and we are all in need of Christ’s forgiveness—and when we accept His salvation, we are made new.

However, because of that element, and because of a couple young women who escape and come to the school in need of aid, this definitely is a heavier book. I don’t want to put an age recommendation on it, per say, because I think it all depends on the person, but just know that there are many mentions of prostitution, using and abusing women, and various names that Phillippa is called.

Additionally, like Vetsch’s other books, this is indeed a solid mystery, and it gets rather intense at the end, so if you don’t appreciate suspense and a bit of violence (including one fatality), this is probably not for you. I definitely couldn’t put it down, though, and I LOVED watching Bertie and Phillippa grow individually… and as a pair.

Also, that ENDING! I don’t want to spoil anything, but it made me so happy in my heart, and so eager to read book three!

Side note: Erica Vetsch's books are also excellent if you wish to build your vocabulary. I love her word choices!

A Scheming in Parliament by Erica Vetsch carries everything a reader would want in a historical mystery. Plenty of historical surroundings with plenty of detail to allow the reader to feel like they are traveling through this time period as they read. Plenty of mystery to keep the readers glued to the page as they want to know what happens. Plenty of romance that hints at something bigger between the two main characters. I have loved these series with reoccurring characters. It is nice to see them come back. Readers will enjoy the change and the ability to rely on God through all the struggles and changes that keep being thrown into their lives. I love how Vetsch creates flawed characters, but they see their need for a Savior who will make them a new creation. I love seeing the characters who have already grasped this concept and seeing them grow as the series as progressed. Overall, A Scheming in Parliament by Erica Vetsch is a delightful mystery with a tale of heart that I truly enjoy. Now, I need the next book.

This is the second book of this series and I recommend you read book one first. I was eager to see where we would find Philippa and Bertie and I was delighted to find them amidst mystery once again! Many things are afoot and there is an interesting blackmail situation that carries through. There is also a delightful goat scene that made me giggle, along with a very subtle and light romance thread. I am very curious on what happens in the next book with how things are left in the last chapter..no spoilers here but eek!! Truly the best part of this story is not only Philippa's redemption from her past, but how it carries forward in how she helps others. She shines such a light on how God makes us new, even after we have lived in such darkness. He is the only One who can do this and it is so evident in Philippa's own life. I love how God's grace is portrayed in these novels and it really adds to the storyline.

I enjoyed this book and I look forward to the next!

Four Stars.

Erica Vetsch is a master at Regency espionage, and her writing keeps you on your toes until the very end. In this continuation of the Of Cloaks and Daggers series, readers get to see Sir Bertrand Thorndike and Philippa Cashel take on some serious cases having to do with corruption and evil that are growing more and more insurmountable. Being an unlikely pair of agents, we can see various infiltrations at the political and human levels. In attempting to uncover a scheme in the House of Commons, Sir Thorndike is up against sinister secrets and masquerades while Miss Cashel is ministering to women who are caught in the same situation that she came out of herself. This interplay is utterly riveting as the story progresses, revealing just how many clues are intertwined with one another.

This book covers heavier material, including the depravity of sin, while imparting strong doses of the Gospel to counteract the hopelessness that both characters face. It's a joy to read about the redemption that comes from Christ, knowing that so many men and women need to hear that message when caught in sin. The sermons and messages preached in this book are worth reading on their own and fit perfectly in place along this captivating story. Readers who are enthralled by the world of espionage will find A Scheming in Parliament to be top notch in its suspense and tender in its treatment of people enslaved by various forces.

Another intriguing episode in the annals of Haverly House, with the dashing Sir Bertrand Thorndike at the helm. Start to finish, Vetsch continues to captivate her readers with her historical settings, Regency-era nuances and slow-burn romances (with swoony heroes, of course).

A Scheming in Parliament provides mystery, potential government corruption and unforeseen blackmail within a strong, spiritually-themed storyline. With unexpected twists in the fight against evil, alliances and trust are challenged once more. And the ending? This reader never would have guessed! Now to wait for the next book!

Can this book be read as a stand-alone? Yes, but why would you want to? Take a few days off, start with The Lost Lieutenant and read until you are caught up to this one! You won’t regret it!

This book is suitable for teens and older with no inappropriate intimate scenes and no bad language. I received this book from the author/publisher free of charge, with no expectation of a positive review.

This was a fascinating addition to the series as we see Bertie and Philippa's story continue from the first book. Bertie was trying to figure out if some corruption in the political realm was going on while Philippa continued to run the Eleos school. While he made connections and learned what he could in his new role, Philippa was faced with a difficult decision. I'm not as crazy about politics so that part didn't interest me as much but I found it fascinating when it seemed like there was something criminal going on involving captive women and they joined forces to save them. I really admired their bravery, especially Philippa, as she didn't have training but put her life at risk anyway. There was some suspense and action. There was a little bit of romance as they became closer through the different situations and really learned what kind of person the other was and felt drawn to each other. There was also a good presentation of the gospel. I'd recommend reading the first book before this as it helps to understand the characters and their motivations better and it's always fun to see characters from other series' as well. I'd definitely recommend this book and I can't wait for the next one!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not compensated for this review. All opinions are my own.

So much scheming! From dastardly to delightful - so many schemes. Villainy had my heart beating fast, and the ingenuity of a plucky girl had me laughing out loud.
In both the Thorndike and Swann Mysteries and the Of Cloaks and Daggers series, well-crafted stories allow romance to bloom at an unhurried pace. Fans of Erica Vetsch have grown to appreciate Philippa Cashel's beauty and strength of character. It's time for her happily ever after! Bertie is her perfect match.
One of the things that sets a great book apart from a good book is its cast of supporting characters. Vetsch is a master at creating a community of compelling characters-some old friends, and some new faces. I loved catching up with familiar faces in the Haverly universe - especially Partridge. And Bertie's new allies are intriguing - I hope we'll see more of them in the next installment.
The ending is perfection. I can't wait for the next book!
