Michael Bond, CBE was an English children's author. He was the creator of Paddington Bear and wrote about the adventures of a guinea pig named Olga da Polga, as well as the animated BBC TV series The Herbs. Bond also wrote culinary mystery stories for adults featuring Monsieur Pamplemousse and his faithful bloodhound, Pommes Frites.
Paddington is left home alone and he sets about completing some chores around the house including plans to bake a surprise. It's a funny book and of course there's some mishap to read about.
I'm a lifelong Paddington fan. In true Paddington style something always goes wrong. There is always the comedy when he has good intentions but has a mishap. This story teaches responsibility and rectifying things you've caused or cleaning up after yourself. Maybe Paddington learnt that multi-tasking wasn't such a good idea after all!
Another easy read fun-filled adventure full of Paddington's chaos and mishaps all coming from his good intentions to do some "Spring Cleaning". I feel his pain. He tries so hard to do a good deed but nothing seems to go in his favour. My boys loved the story and the illustrations but my eldest was sad "the hoover ate the cake mix" but loved the happy ending.

This was very funny. Classic Paddington is very silly and I was worried he would ruin the house and get in trouble. I’m glad the ending was different to that though.
Minding the house with Paddington. I'm no native speaker - so I actually learn new words by reading those children's books in English.. And it is so much fun!
