Spies, fake identities, awkward chemistry, and suburban chaos—this one was a fun ride.
The Alias Agenda by Holly James was a fast-paced mix of undercover hijinks, humor, and romance. This was my first book by this author, and I genuinely loved her writing style—it’s light, witty, and easy to fall into. I especially enjoyed the suburban-mom-meets-spy-ring setup; it felt fresh, a little ridiculous (in the best way), and completely entertaining. The banter between Erin and Cal added a lot of charm, and I liked how the story balanced action with rom-com energy.
That said, it leans more toward playful spy romance than high-stakes thriller, so if you’re expecting nonstop tension, this might feel lighter than anticipated. But if you’re in the mood for a breezy, entertaining read with disguises, secrets, and slow-burn chemistry, this one delivers exactly that.
