Cloverleah Pack #5

Getting Close to the Omega

Rate this book
Book Five - Cloverleah Pack Series Can be read as a standalone. Dean Weir has finally found happiness in his position as Omega wolf of the Cloverleah pack. He has his friends, his work and his art and he has never looked for anything else. Badly abused by his ex-home pack and Alpha, Dean keeps his head down and stays out of trouble. That is, until his mate joins the pack. Matthew Charmichael is over a hundred years old and has been a lone wolf for longer than he can remember. Joining the Cloverleah pack after he heard they were having trouble with another wolf shifter, Matthew is overjoyed to find his mate is the cute little Omega of the small pack. But Dean's past, and the constant attacks on the pack from the mysterious Kylan, could mean that Matthew and Dean won't get their HEA after all. Can Dean overcome his past, and embrace the powers that a claimed Omega is purported to have, or will his ex-pack kill him before he and Matthew have a chance? This is a love story between two male wolf shifters. It includes graphic depictions of sex between men as well as some violence and coarse language. Historical abuse themes are referred to, but not described.

The story was lovely. It had a bit of everything: suspense, crazy villain, relationship woes and a whole lot of love. I liked that this alpha/omega pairing was not rushed. The MCs took their time to get to know each other. Poor Dean! He has been through so much, but came out so much stronger and fighting. I loved how he came into his own. Matthew was the gentle alpha who could kick a$$ when needed. I genuinely had a good time reading this book. The villain was so inept and absolutely hilarious. I liked the resolution to the pack's problem. Everyone learned something new about themselves and what it meant to be a good wolf pack.

I enjoyed how Matthew really gave Dean time, not rushing him and allowing him to gain confidence within himself and in the mating.

Kane yet again proved how much of a dick he is. Funny how it took the omega, who Kane considers the weakest member of the pack, to stand up to him and call him on his bullshit with the mates, doesn't stop it unfortunately but a small win for the little guy.

Omg this book was so much better written and the characters were so more coherent that I just have to give it a higher rating!

The plot it's still an awesome cluster fuck of random drama but we do love that x)

Dean & Matthew are my faves so far!

This book was such a good addition to this series!
Dean is the omega of Kane's pack and is very quiet but strong when it comes to helping protect the pack.
Matthew is a very strong alpha and as soon as he scents Dean he knows he is his mate and he must protect him and care for him.
These two together was really just so sweet! Matthew cares so much about Dean and is so protective of him. The same goes for Dean who feels the same for Matthew.
They have their up and downs while trying to grow as a couple between the men trying to hurt and take Dean and everything else that was going on that kept trying to separate them.
This book had a lot of action which kept me on the edge of my seat but also a lot of steam between these two men. I have to say I loved the characters in this book and was so excited to see Dean finally get his HEA. He has been one of my favorite characters in this series so far and I really happy to get to know more about him in this book and at the same time so sad because everything he went through with his old pack with the abuse they inflicted on him which was horrible.
I want to say I love, love this shifter world this author has created along with the characters and how with every book so far in this series you get to see all the previous characters in this series too!

All together I really loved this book!
I would recommend this book and this series!

I was looking forward to Dean's story and was not disappointed. Matthew was the perfect one for him and just what Dean needed. Someone who was there to support him and allow him to grow and come into his Omega powers. I liked that there was not too much over the top drama, just enough to keep the story moving forward. I am really interested in Jax's story and how that is all going to play out.

This book lost me in the details

I really like the world that the Cloverleah books are based in, but the plots in some of these books get a bit ridiculous. And there are a lot of inconsistencies that pop up.

Shawn's sudden knowledge of just about everything, and Paulo's seeming knowledge of everything that the Fates are doing is just too convenient. Does Gretchen, as a witch, not feel the same intense sexual attraction to her own fated mate? How is it that Damien and Matthew are both over 100, but they don't look it, yet the Jackson City pack are all considered old at 50?

I definite plan on reading all of these books, but I often find myself rolling my eyes.

The power of the Omega

Dean is an omega wolf rescued six years ago from the streets by Kane and Griff. He is shy, lacking in self confidence, but loved by everyone in the pack. He meets his mate in Matthew, an Alpha who comes to join the pack and pledges loyalty to Kane. Dean and Matthew barely have time to explore their claim before Dean is kidnapped, rescued by two Fae princes, kidnapped again, finally gets claimed and then kidnapped again. What is going on here? It turns out Dean is central to the future of all wolf shifters. How this plays out is an exciting, somewhat frustrating, beautiful and loving story. Highly recommended!

Book 5 in the Cloverleah Pack series is great. It was lovely to see how comforting and cherishing Matthew the second oldest and biggest Alpha to Damien, treats his new mate Omega Dean. Dean is extremely nervous due to the way his birth pack treated him so badly. Matthew gave him as much time as he needed to come to terms with the realisation of their mating and learn about each other before claiming each other. But as usual things don’t go their way as Dean is taken by his home pack because they believe they have the right to have him back now they know he’s an Omega with powers. But don’t worry there’s a HEA for the unusual looking couple.

Fantastic Book

If you like a book with a moral story this is it. Dean is the last omega wolf left. Omegas are small and submissive; because of this they have been mistreated for generations. A lot of wolves have forgotten when they are true mated omegas hold true power. Dean is prepared to fight for his true mate. He’s about to upset a lot of people but never his mate or his pack. They know his worth. This book shows that everyone has value even those that others originally considered worthless. It’s heart wrenchingly good.

Dean comes into his own when he meets and is claimed by his mate, Matthew. Dean it seems is the last omega wolf and his kind have been abused for centuries because they are seen as weak. When his true mate arrives in Cloverleah and they claim each other, Dean's true power is revealed. When others think that they want Dean's power it's up to the pack to protect him. Cloverleah is unique and it's Dean's power as an omega that allows so many alphas to work together in the pack.

I'm so pleased that Dean, the sweet Omega, got himself the perfect Alpha in Matthew. Someone who's strong, patient, kind and protective. And I loved how Dean and the rest of them gradually found out just how important an omega really is.
I'm curious about what's going to happen next.

Must read

When I read an entire series, I don't usually write a review for every book. I just had to let people know that this series is WOW absolutely awesome. Great story lines, fabulous characters, lots of heat and positively easy reading. Oh, and this is my second time reading this series.

Thoroughly enjoyed this next book in the series. MC Dean really pulled himself together and became his destiny. And MC Matthew was his catalyst and enabler. Loved their mix and influences. Loved how the pack and the broader shifter / paranormal community developed.

Narrated by John York. Excellent.

And it got better again. I've loved Owen since book one. So glad he finds his mate in Mathew. But as is the case with this pack, it doesn't go smoothly. Plus we get introduced to new characters as well. Happily going to keep following this series.

It's been a while since I read the earlier books in the series, so I was a little bit confused. However, this series has the amazing ability to feel short even tho they are actually all rather larger books.

I liked how the omega role in this story and how the supernatural aspect is evolving in the series. Still cheesy, though, and the whole "mate of mine, lover of mine, whatever of mine" is way too hilarious. Even so, I think this one was my favorite.

Being the only Omega in a small pack but having Alpha's as friends of said pack made life a bit interesting every now and again. Finally an Alpha is interested in him but so is everybody else. Fascinating story!
