This is the story of a buried witch near a graveyard. The witch’s ghost desires a headstone and requests it of the person who takes care for the cemetery.
finished this short story just to find out that it’s a chapter from the graveyard book??? i’m buying that book for sure now despite continuously putting off buying it bc the edition eslite sells has such an underwhelming cover
May be a bit biased since Neil Gaiman is on of my favorite authors. Along with his other work, this one doesn't fail to capture your attention and delivers a great short story.
This short story is actually an excerpt from The Graveyard Book. Just like the book in entirety, I also enjoyed this short. This is a chapter where Bod explores the other parts of the graveyard and of course in doing so challenges misconceptions of about how people are named or grouped in death. If you haven't read The Graveyard Book check it out, a story about a boy raised and protected by ghosts.
