This was another one we read with our boys this week. We finished it in three sittings, let both boys take turn reading pages and making choices. It's about a rock band who has two of its members kidnapped. Our kids made choices not to call the police, search for bugs, not split up, and trust our buddy's version of events (I think there's one other choice I'm forgetting) and we ended up with a happy ending. There was not very much rock and roll here, so aside from setting up the premise this book could have been called kidnapped and been more accurate.

This book barely made any sense. The endings were all let downs that undermined the value of our choices throughout. So far, one of the worst CYOAs I've read.

This is a fun mystery. You are in a rock group, and one day criminals kidnap two of your bandmates. You definitely must make the right choices to come to a positive ending; it is all too easy to inadvertently kill off these unwilling hostages.

Jim Wallace has a different style than most Choose Your Own Adventure authors, but I find Rock and Roll Mystery to be well done and amusing.
