When I heard that Vicki Pettersson had written a novella set back in the world of the Signs of the Zodiac series I was thrilled. Needless to say, it was a pleasure to revisit Joanna Archer and see what she and Hunter have been up to. The novella picks up only about six weeks after the series left off and, as such, it doesn't work as a true stand alone story. I don't think it would make much sense to anyone who hasn't read the (six book) series. But if you've read the series then you should make every effort to read this. It seems to me that the novella opens the door for Pettersson to return to this series one day since it looks as though things didn't quite work out the way Joanne had hoped. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking but until the author gives a definitive "no", I'm leaving the light on for Joanna and Hunter.

Let me start by saying that the Signs of the Zodiac series is one of my all time favorites. Reading this 12 chapter novella several years after what was considered the last book of the series, has given me hope that there may be more to this series in the future.
Joanna Archer is the child of both light and dark forces and everything that has happened previously in the series has led up to this moment. She is finally living peacefully with the man she loves and carrying his child. Then she finds out that her mother, the woman who gave everything up so Joanna could live, is missing. So there is no question, she has to find her. In her search she stumbles on more than a few surprises. I won’t go into more details than that, since this is a short story and it’s easy to give things away that aren’t intended, but if you haven’t read this series you should, but start with book one. The Reordering
I wish this wasn’t the final book in the Zodiac series. It does leave it open for Vicki Pettersson to write about the new generation. I have enjoyed this series immensely while reading along with the Haberdashery. I’m glad we got to visit Hunter and Jo one more time, though wouldn’t it be nice to know what their baby’s name will be?

The life cycle of the Zodiac spins on.... An update to the Signs of the Zodiac finale that leads right into the reorganization and continuation of the story of the Light and Shadows... Well worth the read!

I loved dipping my toes back into the world of Joanna Archer and the Zodiac! I can't even tell you how happy I was when I heard that there was going to be a new novella in the series, which finished with book six, The Neon Graveyard. I was mildly disappointed with the ending of that book and still had many questions. In The Reordering some of my questions were answered and I received a wonderful dose of Joanna and Hunter. At least enough to appease me until perhaps another book or spin-off series? Hmmm...?
Joanna Archer thought that she saved the world but instead, she created a reordering. The world of the Zodiac is in chaos and there's a mysterious Shadow vying for power. When Zoe Archer goes missing Joanna and Hunter must leave the peaceful existence they have finally built for themselves to find her. But when they do, will Joanna be forced to choose between the life she has growing inside of her and the one she gave up?
Tense, action-packed, and kick-ass; The Reordering continues in the same take-no-prisoners, make-no-apologies vain as the previous Signs of the Zodiac books. A quick, page-turner perfect for fans but may be confusing for new readers. My only complaint about the novella is that I wanted more sparks between Joanna and Hunter. It was sweet but lacked the heat. A must read for Zodiac fans!

Finally the Stars Have Moved to the Next Generation
JoAnn Archer hero to mortals but they will never know, A superhero never fully accepted by her team thanks to her mixed heritage light & dark, shadow and light, good v. evil, take your pick, has taken down the dark, plucked the corrupt from the light and left the city of light a safer place for people, aka, mortals.
And leaves town with no one thanking her with more like a don't let the door hit you attitude. She's pregnant, again. Her baby daddy is no longer a superhero or with super powers anyway and take up residence in LA.
Suddenly, the stench of the shadow kind are following her home - literally they have a foul odor....

Reading novellas and short stories is a good way to become familiar with an author, yet when the short piece is set in an established series, it can be hard to understand. I have not read Pettersson's six Zodiac books, which precede the novella. However, I enjoyed the story and really enjoyed Pettersson's writing. I like her voice, pacing, and characters. If I'd read the books in the series, I'd probably give the novella four stars.

I'm not really into novellas, but I loved this series so I jumped at the chance to revisit it. It was just okay for me. But I guarantee if another novella was released after this I would buy and read that, too. Even though I'm not jumping up and down about this story I wouldn't pass up another chance to find out what happens next.

A followup to the Zodiac series and was glad to see another short story into that universe again. Here's hoping that we will see more of Joanna and Hunter and her children in the near future.

Loved It!!!
Oh. Ma. God. This book was the perfect way to dip my toes back into the zodiac world, and the perfect set up for the next set of books! A great story that brings back some old and introduces a few new. I thoroughly enjoyed this and highly recommend reading it!!

Love This Series
Yes, I truly love this series and this story. I only wish it were longer. My curiosity is burning deep within my soul ready to explode like I am entering my other life. So, please, Vicki, continue writing this series.
